Hidy Ho neighborly-hoos this deffinetly isn't my first fic. but its my first on here so try to be somewhat nice. I do like constructive critisism.

I do not own the Escaflowne series, but I own almost the whole dvd set (just 2 more discs to go), but I did come up with the story line/plot (after an odd dream, and yes most of my fics. are from dreams) and the OC.

She is floating out in a void. Looking to her left and right she sees the familiar blue planet to her left. She turns and her hair billows out behind her like a streak of sunshine, flashing white, like a river of stars. A small white planet zooms into focus, it has an intricately worked pattern into the surface. On further inspection she finds it is a city. A flash of blue light speeds towards Gaia and she speeds with it.

He jolts awake hearing someone knock on the door. "Kei wake up. We are supposed to be training an hour ago!" He groans but remembers his role. 'Blasted hair. It grows about three feet every night.' Kei thinks to himself growling as he grabs the shears in the bathing area and cuts off the pure white hair. After making himself look like a respectable man he wraps his ever growing chest and puts on his clothing, then his specially made armor. "Coming your highness." He yells at the door and straps on his sword. He finally reaches the door, unlocking it and stepping out. "You, my good man, take forever to get ready." Van says laughing and pushing Kei. "I'm sorry Van-sama but if you would schedule these training sessions somewhat later, maybe I would be ready." Kei says punching Van in the arm. "Well lets get a move on, it's time to prove whose more of a man. Soon I will take the test for kingship, being almost eighteen. And for as long as I can remember you have been by my side training me. But of course I would have the greatest swordsman train me. Kei, the Beauty of Gaia. What a fitting name for you. Anyways since I am so near manhood and I am sure you are too we should go out and celebrate soon." Van bragged moving along the corridor. Kei smirks at his future king boasting, wondering if he will ever be able to tell him his secret but keeps the charade until the right time. "We shall see who is more a man soon enough you braggart. And a party would be right up your alley Van, since your birthday is coming soon." "Aye, eighteen and then dragon hunting." Van looks thoughtfully across the training grounds and looks back to Kei. "Your always wearing your armor man. Is it your skin or something?" Van antagonizes Kei. "It is a sign of status and discipline which you have too much in one and not enough in the other." Smirking Kei walks into the middle of the ring and unsheathes his sword. "I'll make you eat those words today for sure Kei." Van says strapping on armor and choosing a sword. They both stand there judging each other until Van rushes in swinging a low slash at Kei’s legs. Kei parries and pushes Van off balance, slashing down at Van’s left arm, and he barely blocks it. There they stand, clashed together for moments but push off from each other and start to circle. Kei feints to the left but goes right in all actuality and Van falls for it. Kei moves in but flies back from a vicious kick from Van. "Your learning." He says picking himself up from the ground and getting into stance. Van rushes in again and slashes at Kei's neck, catching the chain and pendant, tearing it off. Kei reaches to grab the pendant while Van moves in for the attack not knowing what he did. As he brings his sword down the first contact is made just below Kei's right shoulder and tears down to his hip. Kei hears Van gasp in horror as Kei falls to his knees. Wincing but conscious he turns to Van "Whats that look for? You have seen me in a worse condition. Remember when that sky dragon attacked while we were riding in the forest. Even though I killed it, it nearly killed me. I'm glad you grabbed the drag-energist though." Kei tries to stand but fails and Van helps him up. Holding the armor to his side Kei tries to shuffle away. "Do away with this silly armor now so I can look at the wound." Van tries removing the armor but Kei pushes him away. "It's no big deal, I shall go to the healer and have them look so everything is okay." Van narrows his eyes at Kei wondering what he is trying to hide. "If that is what you wish then so be it, let me at least help you there." Kei nods acceptance and Van holds him up on his uninjured side. As they walk along the corridors Kei chuckles slightly. "You sure did make me eat my words today Van." Van looks over to his long time friend and guard. "I have a feeling that you were distracted when I attacked you friend, for I know you don't lose concentration easily." Looking over at Van, Kei smiles ands "I was. You cut off my pendant which made me have an impulse to lose my guard." Holding up a bloody hand, Kei looks down at the pink stone set in silver. "Why do you always wear that anyway? Some lover you pine for?" Van smiles devilishly as Kei blushes. "No! It cam from my parents before I came to Fanelia and your side Van-sama." Van reaches the healers door and opens it abruptly. "Healer come fix Kei! An accident happened to our swordsman!" the healer rushes to Kei's side and looks disturbed. "Your majesty, I will have to request that you leave. This is a sanitary place and you being here inhibits Kei's process of healing. If you must, wait outside the door, but you must not come in no matter what." Van looks hesitant but Kei smiles reassuringly and he leaves. The healer helps Kei onto the table and removes the armor and clothing. "How could you let yourself be injured Master Kei? What if the king had done worse?" the healer jabs him in the chest pointing out the ever increasing point. "I got distracted, it won,t happen again." Kei stubbornly says wincing as the bandages are pulled off. "Or at least," the healer says jerking off the last of the bandages, "Not for a while. I am assigning you to bed for the next days." The healer picks out the things fallen into Kei's wound making Kei draw in his breath and gasp involuntarily. "But who will watch over Van-sama? He need's me to be by his side." Kei desperately tries to weasel his way out of the bed stay but the healer refuses "We have multiple guards for that duty, and he doesn’t need security in the castle. I think you need stitches." Sighing immensely the healer goes and fetches his needle and thread from a drawer. "Do you need anything before we do this?" Kei shakes his head no as the first stitch is etched in. Overall Kei thought he did fine as he didn’t utter a single sound of pain or discomfort even though he felt like screaming at the top of his lungs. The healer bandages him back up and helps Kei put a loose shirt on. Kei lays down thinking about the days events. 'Can't believe I let myself get distracted.' Kei sulks. He hears a knock on the door and makes sure he is covered up sufficiently
