A little girl fled her empty house, never to return again. She ran down the street to a familiar park, one that her mother had often brought her to. She fell down onto the grass and curled up as tightly as she could, to keep the cold out and hide her sadness, and her anger at the world. The little girl, Jessie, cried for hours that night. Her tears soaked her face, and by the time she had fallen asleep the ground was moist beneath her. The girl slept soundly, until the nightmares came. The dreams of how her mother had promised to come back but had just left her alone. The dreams of the man at the door telling her that her mommy was never coming back. The dreams of what had happened to her mother, and the dreams of what might happen to her.

When the girl awoke the next morning she was alone as she was the night before. She decided that crying did her no good; it only made her eyes hurt. That's when she told herself that she was not ever going to cry like that again, and to move on with her young life and survive. Even better than just surviving, actually becoming someone, actually becoming successful.

The eight year old girl did as she told herself, and strove to for years to come. She made few friends and actually trusted even fewer. She was afraid if someone was close to her she could lose them. She met one girl that came more close to Jessie than any of the others. A light orange, kind of a strawberry blonde haired girl, very attractive and about the same age as Jessie. The two held in these aspects in common, and that may have been what bonded them. Cassidy, the strawberry blonde with beautiful lavender eyes, was polite and held her attitude, whereas Jessie was rather rude and couldn't hold her temper at all. They both had incredible egos, of course. Who wouldn't with looks like those two girls had? They hung around each other as much as they could without snapping at one another.

When they were around the age of 14 they both had their eyes on one guy. The guy's name was David. He was a bit younger than they, but he was one hell of a good soccer player. The boy had blue hair, and both Jessie and Cassidy adored blue hair, in its many different shades.

Cassidy reclined in a booth at a coffeehouse, reading a fashion magazine while Jessie brushed out her long soft fuchsia hair with Cassidy's brush. Cassidy brought her eyes up to rest on Jessie.

"Jess, do you want to go see David play today? It should be a good game."

She hadn't been sure if she wanted to invite Jessie because she knew that Jessie was her only competition for getting the boy.

"I would like to see him win again. He always does." Jessie was positive he would always win, and even if he didn't he'd always be a winner in her eyes. She knew that was corny even to think, but she considered David the first love of her life, and hopefully the only one.

"He is a good player, but without his team who knows where he'd be, after all they're really good too you know, but then again he might be able to take on a whole team himself because he's so powerful, and oh I just love power!" Cassidy finally finished. Jessie blinked for a moment. All she heard was blah, blah, blah because Cassidy did the run-on sentence thing just too often. It was like when her mouth started moving it just kept going and going and going... "Jessie?" Cassidy questioned after no reply from Jessie.

"Huh?" Jessie said in a distant voice. She snapped back into reality and saw Cassidy sitting there, waiting for a reply. "Yeah, great!" Jessie said as enthusiastically as she could. She gave a fake smile and nod.

"You didn't hear a word I said, did you?" Cassidy sighed. She knew how Jessie did that to her, just went off into space and ignored her. She hated it.

"I did so," Jessie protested. "Wow!" Jessie looked at her wrist as if a watch were on it. "It's getting late! We should head to the game." Cassidy noticed the change of subject, but chose to ignore it. It wasn't worth the energy. Jessie wasn't worth the energy.

"Yes, let’s go," Cassidy agreed, suddenly regretting that she had invited Jessie. The two teenagers walked out of the coffeeshop, and got on their bicycles. The girls rode their bicycles over to the Soccer stadium. The game was about to start when they arrived.

David was out on the field. Jessie noticed how incredibly cute he looked in his blue soccer uniform, with his blue hair waving in the light breeze. Jessie had absolutely adored David from the first time she saw him, then Cassidy went and copied her. Jessie let Cassidy copy her because she figured that Cassidy was enough of a friend to respect the way Jessie had lusted over the guy.

"Go David!" Cassidy was leaning over a rail, so that he could see it was her cheering for him. David flashed the older girls a quick smile before the buzzer rang, signaling the start of the game. Cassidy knew the smile was aimed at her, and Jessie knew the smile was for herself.

They leaned over the rail cheering David on for the entire game. The only interruption was when a little boy bumped into them. The little boy was wearing an oversized hat and carrying three stuffed animals. He carried a Bulbasaur, a Charmander and a Squirtle, as well as a big balloon shaped like a pokéball. He was a young kid, the Z's on his little cheeks said it all. He was probably about the age of 7. Jessie just smiled at him as he passed, but Cassidy mentally growled at the boy. He had interrupted her cheering.

"Watch where you are going next time, would you?" Cassidy asked sweetly, as if a bad thought about the boy had never crossed her mind. Jessie would have yelled at the kid, but he didn't bump into them that hard so there was no need. The boy just gave Cassidy an innocent look and kept going, and she went back to cheering.

After the game ended, and David's team had won as usual, Jessie and Cassidy went down to congratulate him. The boy had a towel around his neck as he walked up to meet them.

"Hi," was all he said. But even just that word made butterflies in Jessie's stomach. Jessie stared at him, waiting for more wonderful words to come out of his mouth.

"Hey David, that was an amazing game, especially when you made all those great goals, and then when you stole the ball over and over again it was like you were never going to let up on them, isn't that right Jess?" Cassidy said.

"Yes, it was positively wonderful David!" Jessie agreed.

"Thank you!" he said "I am pretty great, huh?" Jessie and Cassidy both nodded at his comment. "Well then would you like to go out with me to get some pizza later tonight?"

"Yes I would love to!" Jessie blurted out. David looked at her sharply. It was a look that made Jessie wonder what she had said that was so wrong.

"Actually, I was asking you." David grabbed hold of Cassidy's right hand. "Will you go out to eat with me?" Cassidy giggled, so pleased that he had asked.

"I will pass for tonight thank you, but could I possibly get a rain check, because I would love to go out with you, another time that is." Cassidy smiled at him in the same sweet way she had smiled at the little boy with the pokéball balloon.

"Okay," the boy blushed, thinking she was just turning him down, "I've got to go then." He hurried off. Cassidy just blinked as he left, then turned to Jessie's furious face. Cassidy smiled to try to make her feel better, but it didn't work. Jessie was pissed.

"You stole him from me!" Jessie screamed. "He would have been mine!"

"Calm down Jessie, he just found me more attractive, nothing against you," Cassidy smirked. She had never seen Jessie this angry before.

"I'm the gorgeous one! Damn you!" Jessie threw a punch at Cassidy and knocked her to the ground. Cassidy grabbed the end of Jessie's curl, and pulled down. Jessie's head jerked back with the tug and she fell down on top of Cassidy. Jessie slapped Cassidy repeatedly, until they were broken up by a group of adults. Cassidy jumped back stunned. Jessie stood, breathing hard, held back by her shirt.

Cassidy was escorted home by one of the referees of the game. Jessie had been taken by another man.

Cassidy was still in shock when she went to bed. She had trusted Jessie. She'd never thought Jessie would do that. Cassidy had turned David down because she knew Jessie liked him too. Now Jessie would pay, now Cassidy was going to go out with David. As for Jessie, she was not to be trusted anymore.

Jessie stared at the stars, she didn't know what to do next. She lay in the soft grass of that same park she had cried her eyes out in when she was just a little girl. She noticed how beautiful the sky was at night, and she wished she had someone to share it with her. She lost both the people she liked in one day: Cassidy her best friend, and David her crush. Without them who would she ever have to share it with anyway? Jessie sighed and decided just to sleep.

Cassidy went out with David the next day. They really hit it off, and soon became boyfriend and girlfriend. Jessie envied Cassidy with all her soul, but never let Cassidy know that. The only conclusion Jessie could come to about Cassidy was that she was a selfish little brat. Cassidy only came to know that Jessie had lost her temper over something stupid and she was egotistical and mean.

The days went on and Cassidy and David became closer. They had had a relationship for almost two years, when Cassidy found out that David had been cheating on her. Cassidy had just turned 16 when she dumped the boy.

Jessie had left town, she was looking for what to do with her life. She had gone to Pokémon Tech for a while, to become a Pokemon trainer. She failed on a big test, and got expelled. Her new friend James(who had also failed on the big test) tagged along with her. They joined a bike gang together under the names of Big Jess and Little Jim. The bicycle gang all loved them. They were real idols there, but that just wasn't enough, Jessie wanted to be rich and James wanted to be famous.

The way they found to lead them to their fame and wealth was Team Rocket. They would get paid for their service and become well known. What better way to become famous than to be a great Villain? Jessie and her partner James got assigned with a Meowth. The Meowth was one of the Boss' favorite Pokemon because it was rare. The Boss loved rare Pokémon. What was so rare about a Meowth you say? Well, this Meowth was the only Pokémon that could actually speak in a human language.

What a Team these three made. They were good villains at first, and were rather successful until they met an annoying little boy by the name of Ash Ketchum. This boy had a Pikachu that the Boss wanted. They had to follow him around and try to steal his Pikachu. Even when they were doing something bad to get a little extra money that didn't involve that twerp, he somehow managed to screw things up for them.

Cassidy joined Team Rocket as well, but it was a quite a bit later than Jessie. Cassidy got partnered with a guy named Butch. He was a funny sounding fellow, but Cassidy soon got used to it, and they made a good Team. They didn't get any special Pokemon, just a simple Raticate for their team mascot. She found out that Jessie was also in Team Rocket. She heard all the stories of her blunders. Cassidy found it amusing. Jessie had ended up with a complete imbecile as her partner, and an annoying talking cat. What a team!

One day Cassidy and Butch got a mission that would have normally gone to Jessie and James, but since they could not accomplish their Pikachu mission the Boss couldn't trust them with such an important one. Cassidy and Butch started a Pokémon breeding center, they told people it was like a health spa for pokémon. It was a brilliant plan and it would have worked, but that annoying twerp and his pals intervened with them as well. Not only did Ash show up but Jessie and James were there to steal the Pokémon that Butch and Cassidy had already stolen.

* * * *

Jessie and James ended up in jail as usual, but it wasn't hard to escape and they were gone by the time Butch and Cassidy were thrown in. They met up one more time with yet another brilliant plan on Butch and Cassidy's parts, but the plan was foiled again. The Drowzee was beaten and all the Pokémon returned to their original personalities. That was it, Jessie and Cassidy said nothing of their past and had no plan of ever speaking of it again. That was until they met this one last time.

Jessie walked down the halls of the Team Rocket looking for James and Meowth who had disappeared from their quarters. She thought she would head to the dining hall, because that is where she usually found them when they had disappeared. She stared into the large dining hall from the doorway. As she looked, she got rudely pushed into the room. Jessie turned around, pulling a large mallet out of nowhere, ready to swing.

It was Butch. He had accidentally tripped when walking up, and was now stepping back into Cassidy who was right behind him. Cassidy gave Jessie an amused look.

"Watch where you are going, you idiot!" Jessie yelled at Butch. Butch finished his step back until he was leaning slightly on Cassidy. Cassidy shook her head.

"You really haven't changed a bit at all, well at least not for the better, I'm sorry to say."

"Well neither have you! You still ramble on forever, and you are still a selfish little brat"

"I'm sorry Jessie, but you are mistaken, I am not a selfish little brat, and where you get that from I do not know, but I do know that I don't appreciate it."

"Do I care?" Jessie growled as she flipped her hair and walked into the dining room to escape her former friend. Cassidy and Butch went into the dining hall as well and sat down.

Jessie finally found James and Meowth in the corner of the dining hall, and sat down with them. She still had a view of Cassidy and her partner Butch. Jessie sighed in remembrance of how Cassidy stole David when they were younger. James looked up, worried about Jessie.

"What's the matter Jessie?" James asked. Jessie just sighed again, with

no response to his question.

"She probably ran outta hairspray," Meowth teased. In response Jessie slapped Meowth across the face leaving a big red hand print.

"Come on Jess, what's the matter?" James repeated himself, not sure if she had heard him the first time.

"I don't know," she said softly, "I guess I just..."

"Just what?" James asked after her words trailed off.

"I guess I just feel so alone sometimes James," Jessie said, giving James a sharp look in the eyes. James looked back into her eyes, she was not joking right now, she was dead serious. James got ready to reply nervously.

"I will always be here for you, Jessie," James said in a meaningful tone.

"Meowth too!" Meowth agreed.

"You're our friend, and friends are very important!" James added.

"But how do I know you will never change?" Jessie asked. "How do I know that you will always be there for me?"

"Because we say we will!" Meowth replied

"And because we love you Jessie, or at least I know I do." James blushed a little bit. Jessie looked at James, not knowing which way he meant the 'love' to be. After a moment of her not answering him, he continued "You're the only real friends I've ever had, and you will always be my best friend, Jessie."

"Nothing more, nothing less?" Jessie asked

"Nothing more, nothing less."

"So dere's no relationship for youse guys in da future?" Meowth asked, a little surprised. The way they fit together was perfect. They were both sorry ass losers.

"No, I wouldn't believe so Meowth," James sighed, now putting his attention on Meowth. Jessie always wished there would be so she didn't know what to say. Then she spoke without thinking.

"Why?" she asked.

James didn't know what to say either, now he had disappointed her or something.

"Yeah why, James?" Meowth repeated the question just posed.

"I'm sorry," James sighed, staring down at the table. "I always do something wrong, I'm just a failure."

"Dat's not a reason, is it?" Meowth stood up on the table.

"I don't think so..." Jessie said, unsure herself. At that, Meowth slapped James several times. James snapped out of the depression but went into stupid mode. He acted like he had no clue what they had been talking about.

After James had finished his meal he got up from the table, and Meowth and Jessie followed his example. They all walked out of the dining hall, past Butch and Cassidy. Jessie gave Cassidy an unconscious sad look as she passed. Cassidy acknowledged the look but didn't show it outwardly. Butch knew her well enough to turn around to see Jessie and James leaving.

"What were you looking at them for?" Butch asked.

"I wasn't," Cassidy said

"Don't lie."

"Okay, so I was looking at them, what does it matter, after all, they are our enemies right, because I hate Jessie with a vengeance, and we are the only true villains you know."

"Right Cass," Butch said. Cassidy knew Butch was agreeing because her last sentence wasn't too clear. She didn't know how to fix it this time so she just went back to sipping her coffee. Butch watched Cassidy drink from the cup, he thought about how beautiful she was. He had an angel for his partner. Cassidy sat her coffee down.

"I’m tired, why don't we go back to our room?" Cassidy sighed. Butch got up almost as if it were a command. They walked back to their room.

Meanwhile, Jessie and James were in their beds, and James was almost asleep.

"James?" Jessie asked to see if he was still awake.

"Yeah Jess?" He answered groggily.

"Why would we never be able to have a relationship?" Jessie asked, no longer able to hold in the question.

"I don't want to talk about it right now Jess," James whined. "Don't worry, it's not because of you, you are gorgeous Jessie and I do love you, but.."

"But what?

"You aren't my type, let’s leave it at that okay?" He sighed, trying to cuddle back into his pillow.

"What do you mean I'm 'not your type?'" Jessie was beginning to get very offended and angry. "If I'm not your type, then what is?"

"Jessie!" James begged, "Please stop."

Jessie stopped. She was pissed. James was the guy she had thought she would end up with. He was a failure just like her, and they were always together. How could she not be his type? James noticed Jessie's angry breaths as she tossed in her bed, making as much noise as she could. He whimpered slightly as he dug his head into his pillow. He was afraid he would hurt Jessie, now he was sure he had hurt her feelings, and he really didn't mean to.

The next morning Cassidy woke up in her quarters. She had a hard time sleeping the night before. She had the wretched image of Jessie's sad face as she had passed by in her head all night. The thought that she would actually even care about her old buddy Jessie who beat the fuck out of her was disgusting and she did not want it. She looked at Butch, he was sound asleep on his bed. The poor guy, Cassidy thought, he likes me so much. She shook her head, and got up to make her breakfast. As she was cooking an egg, Butch came in to join her.

"Good morning, Cass," he said. She cringed at the thought of her night and her horrible morning, then she nodded to acknowledge his comment. "Something's up with you," he said after she didn't speak.

"Why do you say that?" she asked.

"I don't know."

"Well then, you can't tell me that something is up."

"But something is up, I can tell."

"Do you want some breakfast, I could cook another egg if you’re hungry, but if you don't want one that's okay too."

"No thanks," Butch answered. Cassidy said nothing else. Butch didn't like how distant she was acting. She was usually right there ready to go, ready for another mission. After she finished her breakfast, she sat down at the little table they had in their quarters, where Butch was already seated.

"What do you think about those bumbling idiots, Jessie and James?" Cassidy said out of nowhere.

"Uh, same as you Cassidy."

"No really, what do you think about them?" she pursued.

"I think they are very unsuccessful, and they screw up our missions for us."

"What if they are just unlucky?"

"What?" Butch said in surprise. Was that a defense for Jessie and James? From Cassidy?

"Well, I've got to thinking, and Jessie and James may not be as stupid as they appear to everyone on the Team, but then again they probably are."

"I thought you hated them."

"I did too."

"What?"

"I thought I hated them too, because they always screw up, and I had a past with Jessie that I just wish would clear from my mind, but I miss her," Cassidy said. She looked down at her hands, and wondered if it was really true, or even how it could be true. Butch blinked. He never got Cassidy to tell him that much about when "she used to hang around with her." He stared at her beautiful face in wonder.

* * * *

James awoke to see that Jessie wasn't in her bed, or even in the bedroom at all. He opened the bathroom door to find Jessie studying herself in the mirror. When she saw him in the reflection she turned around and slapped him with a fan that she had pulled out of nowhere.

"OW!" He shrieked "What was that for?"

"For not telling me why I'm not your type!"

"Jessie, I'm sorry!" He begged for her forgiveness "I didn't know you would take it that personally, I never should have said anything." Jessie gave him a harsh glare.

"Well maybe it was best you did!" Jessie yelled "Now I know how you really feel about me!"

"No Jessie! I... I..." James stuttered, so full of frustration and confusion that he could no longer talk.

"You what, James?" Jessie asked. She stood in the room in front of him, waiting for an answer. After a long, long, moment, James regained control.

"OK Jessie, you wanted to know why you aren't my type," James gulped. "This is hard for me, so please try and be calm about it."

"Continue."

"Okay." He looked back into the bedroom to make sure no one else was listening. "Jess, try and understand, you’re not my type because..." James stopped again.

"Because why, James?"

"I like men, Jess." James grabbed his head and fell to his knees. Jessie looked down at James sitting on the floor shaking like he had just seen a ghost. He was gay. James was gay. Jessie didn't have a chance with him because he was gay, not because she was bad. She smiled and leaned down to him, resting a hand on his shoulder.

"I understand that, you should have just told me in the first place."

"But I was afraid I couldn't," James shook his head again. Jessie smirked at him.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I've always had a suspicion you could be."

"And you don't care?" James asked, not shaking anymore.

"Actually I do care, I care about you and I am totally supportive of you!" Jessie encouraged. James smiled at her and grabbed her hand.

"Thank you Jessie!" He pulled himself up to her and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you."

"I love you too James." Jessie said wrapping her arms around him as well. They stood in the bathroom and hugged for a long time.

* * * *

Cassidy left the room when Butch went to go take a shower. She decided she needed a long walk to think. She went outside of TRHQ and sat down on the bench to wait for a bus. She saw Meowth walk out of the building, and knew who was coming next. Sure enough, Jessie and James walked out. They looked the way they always did when heading out for a mission. She decided it could be fun to watch them screw up their mission with the Pikachu, so she followed

them.

As she walked, she saw that Jessie kept whispering things to James whenever he began to slow down. She figured that Jessie and James must be going out. After a half a days walk Jessie and James ducked down into some bushes and waited. Meowth was annoyed by whatever was being whispered between them and he let them know. Jessie swatted him and told him he was too curious and it was going to kill him someday. Then Ash and his two pals, Misty and Tracey, came into view. Jessie and James jumped out of the bushes telling Meowth to stay behind. Cassidy moved closer so she had a better view of the screw up.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation,"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Team Rocket is here to bring you the light!"

"I have something important to say, if I might?"

"Meowth? Dat's right?" Meowth jumped out of the bushes. Cassidy moved up to where Meowth used to be.

"James has decided to tell you twerps something, and you better not make fun of him."

"How come Meowth doesn't know dis?" Meowth asked. Jessie batted him over the head with a mallet.

"I, James of Team Rocket..." James paused, not sure he could go on. "I am... Oh, Jessie would you say it for me?"

"Are you sure James?"

"Yes."

"James is coming out of the closet!" Jessie said. Cassidy's jaw dropped. Ash, Misty and Tracey looked at him like he was an idiot.

"Is this some kind of joke?" Ash said, "Or trick?"

"Because it really isn't working," Tracey added. James dropped his head.

"No, it's not a trick. It's true," James sighed

"Why are you prancing around telling us this?" Misty asked.

"You mean you brats aren't surprised?" Jessie asked, glancing down at Meowth, who had fainted.

"No," Ash said.

"No," Misty said.

"No. Should we be?" Tracey asked.

"I would think so," Jessie said. James still had his head ducked.

"He always dresses like a girl, and you dress like a guy half the time," Misty said.

"If we hadn't guessed that he was gay, maybe you too, what kind of people would we be?" Ash questioned. Jessie thought about that. James looked up again.

"Plus, Tracey hangs out with us," Misty said. Tracey glared at her.

"So you guys are ok with it?"

"Yeah," they all answered.

"This is so great!" James cried dramatically. Tracey smiled.

"It really is. Everyone I have told has been totally supportive of me," Tracey said. James gave him a questioning look.

"You are too?"

"Well, mostly..." Tracey said.

"Wow, I never would have known!" Jessie said. "Now James you can either stay with these twerps or go home with me, it's getting late." James looked at Jessie, then at the twerps.

"I'll go. But... Tracey? Wanna go with us? I wanna talk to you." James said.

"Well, I don't wanna lose Ash or Misty, they are going to take me to meet Professor Oak!" Tracey said.

"You won't lose 'em we can always find him," James said.

"Okay then, I'll come!" Tracey said. "Do you guys mind?" Ash and Misty shook their heads slightly in response. Then James grabbed Tracey's hand and they followed Jessie through the bushes. Cassidy ran ahead, she got back to headquarters long before they did. She ran into her room, and collapsed onto her bed. She pulled off her gloves and boots and put them on the floor next to her.

"Where have you been?" Butch asked

"I was out on a walk," Cassidy answered

"All day?"

"YES!" she yelled. She pulled her pajamas out of the nightstand. As she went into the bathroom to get ready for bed, she wondered why the fact that James was gay had hit her so hard. She wondered if it was because she was afraid she might be herself. She hadn't liked anyone since she found out David was cheating on her, and that was about three years earlier. What was the matter with her? She finished getting ready and went to bed.

* * * *

Jessie, James, Tracey and a dizzy Meowth entered Jessie and James' quarters. James pulled Tracey over to his bed and told him to sit down. James sat down next to him and they talked for a while. Jessie went into the kitchen to give them some privacy. She sat down at the dining table and tapped her fingers on it. She didn't want to interrupt them or see them making out or anything, so she decided she would go hang out at the bar. When she walked out of the room, James and Tracey were still talking. She went to the bar and bought the hardest drinks she could.

Cassidy tossed and turned for over an hour, but she couldn't sleep. She crept out of bed and checked if Butch was asleep. He was. She got dressed again and went out to explore the halls TRHQ. She walked by the bar and saw Jessie inside, so she went in. She sat down at the bar next to Jessie.

"Hi."

"I don't feel like fighting with you right now," Jessie said.

"Well actually, I didn't come to fight." Cassidy said in a low tone.

"Oh?" Jessie asked.

"No, I was thinking about you a lot."

"Thinking about me?"

"About how we used to be, like we could tell each other anything, how we always had each other’s back, and I really miss you." Cassidy said. Jessie didn't respond, she just took another drink. "I know we had a bad ending Jess, but you beat the shit out of me after all, so what did you expect me to do? Come running back saying I was sorry?"

"You took him from me, Cassidy!" Jessie turned to the other woman.

"I didn't take him from you, he came to me! And he asked me out, I told him no because I knew that you liked him, but when you beat me up, I wasn't going to hold back anymore!"

"You asked for a rain check!"

"I was being polite!"

"You..." Jessie couldn't think of anything else Cassidy had done.

"I am sorry now for doing whatever I did to make you so pissed at me because we were really close before that."

"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have lost my temper. Since then it has only gotten worse."

"I know," Cassidy said.

"We can't be friends again, though."

"Why not?"

"Because we hate each other, and everyone knows we hate each other."

"Well then we could keep it a secret, so that nobody knows that we are friends again."

"Okay," Jessie said. Then, "I won't take this from you anymore, Cassidy! Let's take it outside!" she growled in anger, putting on a show.

"Um okay, if you say so." Cassidy stood up. The two walked outside, and found a nice grassy spot in the nearby park. They both lay down, and looked at the stars and moon.

"This is what I do when I don't know what to do next," Jessie said quietly.

"Really?" Cassidy asked.

"Yeah, I went to a park when I lost my mother, and I came out to a park when I lost you."

"I meant that much to you?" Cassidy wondered how that was possible.

"Yeah, you did. I trusted you, then you betrayed me," Jessie said.

"I never meant to, and I don't ever want to again, because sometimes you are the only one in the world I can talk to, and I've missed that."

"Yeah, I've had James, and I thought that it would be me and James forever."

"Why won't it be?"

"Well it turns out that he is gay," Jessie said, "and that is just fine with me, but now I know I won't be with him."

"Hmmmm." Cassidy thought. "Well then, what are you planning to do?"

"I really don't know," Jessie sighed. "It seems like all the guys I like are either taken or gay." Cassidy laughed and put her hand on Jessie's.

"Well," Cassidy said, "at least we have each other again"

"That is true, you’re right." Jessie held Cassidy's hand. Cassidy turned and looked at Jessie. She leaned her head on Jessie's shoulder. Jessie leaned her head down on Cassidy's. After a moment Cassidy put her other hand around Jessie's waist. Jessie gave her an odd look.

"I thought you might be cold." Cassidy said. Jessie looked down at the arm around her, and then put her arm around Cassidy in return. They moved closer as the night went on, until they were up against each other, sharing their warmth. They both fell sound asleep in each other's arms.

* * * *

The next morning came around, and Butch found Cassidy gone again. He went out to find her, after searching all of headquarters, he started knocking on doors, asking where she was. He got to Jessie and James' room and wondered if he should knock. He decided it was best that he did, because he was really starting to worry about her. James answered the door in his boxers.

"What do you want?" James asked

"I was looking for Cassidy."

"Hey Tracey, is Cassidy in there?" James asked, he was sure she wasn't, but he might as well humor Butch.

"No, Jessie isn't even here," Tracey answered from inside the room.

"Nope, she isn't here,"

"You have those kids in your room?" Butch asked, confused

"No, I don't have those kids in my room," James answered

"Okay, then." Butch stepped away. He turned and walked off. He heard James murmur something and close the door. He continued his search for Cassidy.

While he was doing that, Jessie woke up. Cassidy was tight up against her. She could hear Cassidy breathing softly. She felt good there with Cassidy, she didn't feel so alone. If James was gay, she could be too, or at least for now. She kissed Cassidy lightly on the lips.

Cassidy's eyes opened. She stared at Jessie, bringing her head back from kissing her. She didn't know what to say or do. If it had been Butch she would have slapped him, but she didn't want to slap Jessie.

Jessie stared back into Cassidy's lavender eyes, hoping that she hadn't done something wrong. Cassidy pulled Jessie on top of her and pulled her head down to her. She kissed Jessie, and Jessie kissed back. Jessie stuck her tongue in Cassidy's mouth. They kissed passionately for an extended time, then Cassidy pulled back realising they were outside--in public. Jessie rolled her body off Cassidy.

"Heh," Jessie said, blushing.

"Um, yeah, I think we should go inside, it's um, public out here, which is, if we want to continue this, uh what we were doing." Cassidy got up on her knees, still holding Jessie's hand. Jessie mirrored Cassidy's position.

"I guess that would be best. Where though?" Jessie asked.

"Not my room," Cassidy said. "Why don't we go to yours, because I don't want Butch to see this, James shouldn't mind."

"James already has somebody in our room," Jessie said

"Who?"

"Tracey."

"Oh," Cassidy said. "Well we could just go back to our own rooms."

"No," Jessie replied. Cassidy smiled. Jessie didn't want to leave her.

"What then?' Cassidy thought. "Well, I still think we should go to your room, even if he has someone with him, we don't have to pay attention to them."

"Okay," Jessie stood up and pulled Cassidy up into her. Cassidy grabbed Jessie's sides, and Jessie gave her one more quick kiss before they walked back into headquarters. Cassidy hung her arm around Jessie's neck, her other arm around Jessie's waist. Jessie held Cassidy's hand the was around her neck, and had and arm around Cassidy as well. They paused when they saw Butch knocking on some door. They stared around the corner at him. He looked genuinely concerned. Jessie and Cassidy didn't know where to go from there. So Cassidy unwrapped herself from Jessie and casually walked around the corner.

"Hi Butch, what are you doin'?" Cassidy asked curiously.

"I was looking for you."

"Well here I am, so I guess you found me."

"Where were you?" Butch asked again. Cassidy thought about saying she was on a walk, but didn't, then she thought about saying asleep, and that didn't work either.

"I don't know," she finally answered. Butch gave her a questioning look.

"Why are you acting so strange Cassidy?"

"Strange? What are you talking about? What do you say you go back to our room and I will meet you there in a little while?"

"Why don't you just come with me?"

"I've got to do something first, it will take a whiles"

"What?"

"It's none of your business, now go," Cassidy pointed in the direction of their room. He grunted, and walked away. As soon as he was out of sight, Jessie ran up behind Cassidy and grabbed her sides and picked her up. Cassidy squealed in surprise. Jessie put her back down, grabbed her hand and dashed for her room.

"Tracey, why would Cassidy be in our room? Jessie hates Cassidy," James said as he pulled the blanket back over him, lying next to Tracey.

"What does it matter? Jessie isn't even here." Tracey leaned up against James' chest. James put an arm around Tracey. The door swung open and James jumped out of bed in surprise, knocking Tracey to the floor. Jessie flew in dragging Cassidy. Jessie tripped on James' pants which were into middle of the floor and went tumbling to the floor. When she fell Cassidy fell on top of her. Tracey crawled over to the wide open door and shut it again. Cassidy kissed Jessie again, and Jessie wrapped her arms around Cassidy once more. James was frozen in place. He stared as his best friend had her tongue in her female enemy's mouth.

"Jessie?!?!?" James asked, not even sure if it was her.

"Ye-" Jessie pulled her head away from Cassidy to look around the room for the first time. James stood in his blue boxers staring in disbelief, and Tracey leaned up against the now closed door trying desperately to catch his breath after being scared out of his wits. 'At least they are in their boxers,' she thought. "Yes, James?"

"What... what are you doing?" James asked

"What does it look like?"

"How come you never told me?"

"I didn't know!" Jessie squirmed beneath Cassidy. "I do have a bed," she mentioned, now talking to Cassidy again. Cassidy got off of Jessie and lay down on the bed that James wasn't standing by. She threw off her boots and gloves, so that she would be more comfortable. Jessie did the same before she lay down next to Cassidy.

Jessie kissed her again and slid a hand up her skirt. She slid Cassidy's underwear off and put her hand back up her skirt to explore. Cassidy reached for Jessie and slid the hand up Jessie's undershirt. She unsnapped Jessie's bra, then pulled it out from her shirt. Jessie stuck two fingers inside Cassidy and made a "come here" motion. Cassidy squirmed at first then relaxed to it, she could no longer pull anything off of Jessie because of where Jessie was, but she could take off her own clothes. She tore off her dress. Jessie kissed Cassidy's stomach all the way up to her breasts.

Then Cassidy unsnapped her own bra and Jessie kissed up past her crevice. Cassidy was sweating from an orgasm that had just passed. Jessie's hand left Cassidy's lower region and headed up her body to caress one of Cassidy's breasts. She kissed Cassidy who took this as a chance to pull Jessie's clothes off. She took of her shirt, then her skirt. Jessie helped out, now eager to continue. After Cassidy got Jessie's clothes off she turned and stuck her head in between Jessie's legs. Jessie, who, unlike Cassidy, was a virgin, screamed in pleasure.

The day went on and James and Tracey followed Jessie and Cassidy's examples, and enjoyed the day. Everyone fell asleep before they knew it, and the room was silenced. Cassidy woke up in the middle of the night. She realised that she had told Butch that she'd be there "in a little while." She untangled herself from Jessie's limbs and collected her clothing. She put on what she could, and went to her quarters. Butch was still awake, he sat on his bed with his head in his hands. Cassidy crept up behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. He showed no response.

"I'm sorry Butch, it went longer than I thought it would."

"What?" Butch asked "Oh yeah, I remember. It's none of my business."

"Look, the only reason I won’t tell you is because I know you are in love with me, and if I tell you it will only upset you."

"You know I like you?" Butch asked

"Yes, and Butch you are a sweet guy, you are great for a friend."

"What were you doing?"

"I think I lost my taste for guys. I was with a girl, Butch."

"You are kidding right?"

"No, I'm not, I think I am in love, I know I have never felt so happy, and I want you to understand."

"Okay."

"Thank you, Butch." Cassidy pecked him on the cheek. "Maybe we can have a threesome sometime."

"Okay," Butch said, a little more happily. He couldn't help it if his beautiful angel was a lesbian. Maybe someday he would still have a chance.

"Now I'm going to go back with her, is that okay?" Cassidy asked, already missing Jessie.

"Yeah," Butch said, "but we'd better get back to work in the morning."

"We will."

"Alright." Butch said, watching as Cassidy left the room.

Cassidy went back to Jessie and lay in her arms again. Jessie woke up and held Cassidy and Cassidy held Jessie. They felt together and never wanted to be apart again. Jessie had found true happiness for the first time since her mother had died.
