Dating Service

A/N: This has probably been done before, but I'm trying to put a twist on it. It is in an alternate reality where Natsumi, Miyuki and Yukiro's relationships have all soured and they broke up.

Miyuki was woken up when Natsumi turned the news on.

"Our lead story, the Tokyo vice squad has broken up a major illegal drug ring. They surrounded a warehouse in Ikebokuro and found a lot of marijuana, cocaine, hash, and other drugs. There were plenty of arrests but not before a shootout that left three officers dead and sixteen more wounded. Our reporter Suzuki Ai is on the scene." The newscaster said.

"Mmm... Is that the voice of some cute hunk ready to take me away on his private jet...?" Miyuki asked, still about seven-tenths asleep.

"That's the news. Get up or we'll be late for work!" Natsumi replied. Miyuki lazily sat up.

"Damn..." Miyuki said, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"I swear, one of these days you're going to get in serious trouble for being late." Natsumi said.

When the two of them got to the station, Miyuki was still fixing her makeup. They came in together and reported to the chief. The other girls were already there.

"Well, just in the nick of time. We've got an important assignment." The chief said.

I hope it involves a lot of cute, non-perverted guys, Miyuki thought.

"Well ladies, as you know, the vice squad broke up a drug ring last night. Unfortunately, in doing so, they had two-thirds of their squad put out of action." The chief said. "They needed help and asked for four good officers to tie up some loose ends on the case. I have to send four of you out there. So Miyuki, Natsumi, Yuriko and Aoi, you're it." The chief said.

"Aw man, with my luck I'm going to get stuck with a pervert and spend the evening kicking his ass." Natsumi said.

"That's why they want you to do it, Natsumi." Miyuki said. "They want someone that could easily kick a guy's ass."

"Erm... Well, we've set the four of you up with appointments to see the service. Tsujimoto will start at 1:00." The chief said. "But for the morning, you are on your usual patrols."

That morning was very boring for Natsumi and Miyuki. There were two traffic lights stuck on red and so they had to direct traffic. However, after lunch, Miyuki, Natsumi, Aoi and Yuriko donned civilian clothing and went to the Kikan dating service.

"Welcome, ladies. It's very rare to get such beautiful women here." The clerk at the counter said. He was a twenty-something man with dark hair and eyes. He wasn't incredibly handsome, but he wasn't a dog either. He gave the quartet a bunch of forms.

"Well, we aim to please. Just fill out these forms and we'll set you ladies up on dates with some guys." He said. One set of filling out forms later, he fed the data into the computer and then processed them.

"Ah, here we go. Ms. Kobayakawa, the most compatible man we have for you is named Toshitari Yanaga. Ms. Tsujimoto, your most compatible man is Akiyoshi Nogizaka. Yuriko, your most compatible man is named Nobui Ikai. Finally, Aoi, your most compatible man is named Ushiji Tatsuoka. The computer is printing out their bios right now for you; it should be done in a little while. We're also e-mailing your information to them. Hopefully, all of you will have wonderful, lasting relationships." The clerk said.


After getting the biographical packets, the traffic cops said goodbye and looked the stuff over. However, Miyuki did bug the offices. They were at a cafe and looked their bios over.

"Hmm... This one's cute." Miyuki said of her date. His bio stated he worked for Shima electronics in their research division. Shima was one of the biggest security equipment firms. Miyuki wanted to meet him as soon as possible.

"Well, mine's not that bad looking." Natsumi said. Her date, Akiyoshi worked in an Akihabra retail store as the assistant manager. His hobbies were working out and soccer. He was on his college soccer team.

"Mine looks like a pervert." Aoi said. Her guy listed his occupation as a dotcom company president.

"Well, you get what you wanted." Yuriko said.


Things got set up for the first date. They decided it would be Miyuki and Toshitari. Miyuki agreed to meet him at a local restaurant. She wore a bug and tracking device. The others disguised themselves and listened in, with Aoi being in a car outside. Toshitari showed up in a suit and tie, and bowed respectfully to Miyuki.

"How do you do? My name is Toshitari Yanaga. Are you Ms. Miyuki Kobayakawa?" Toshitari asked. Miyuki took one look and smiled.

"Yes I am. I have heard so much about you; it is nice to meet you at last." Miyuki said. She and he got a cozy table for two. They sat opposite each other and started talking.

"Well, Ms. Kobayakawa, I am looking for a woman that I can establish a long-term relationship with. It will be someone to whom I can come home to and really set myself at ease." Toshitari said. "Children are not out of the picture, but I wouldn't mind if we didn't have any." The conversation went on like this; both sides sized each other up as they had dinner. With dinner they had a few drinks as well.

"I understand you have invented several security devices. I was most impressed with the purse you invented." Toshitari said.

"It was nothing." Miyuki replied. "My inventions aren't on your level though."

"Well, thank you. My team works very hard on what they do. We recently developed a firewall that has nasty consequences for those that try to break it. It introduces several BIOS-harming viruses into the system at the same time." Toshitari said.

"I've heard of that. I want to get my hands on that when it comes out." Miyuki said.

After dinner, they went to a karaoke bar. Miyuki and Toshitari sang together for a bit; it wouldn't have won them a record deal, but it wasn't incredibly horrible either. They tended to sing love duets. At the end of the evening, Miyuki and Toshitari went to the station to say goodnight.

"You have been wonderful company tonight, Ms. Kobayakawa. I hope we can see each other again soon." Toshitari said. Miyuki looked a little downhearted when he turned to go. However Tositari stopped, turned around, and then embraced Miyuki.

"You really didn't think I'd let you go without a kiss, did you?" He asked. Miyuki returned his embrace and then they went in for the kiss together.


Both of them felt an intense passion flow between them. Miyuki felt her heart skip a beat as their lips were locked. He felt his heart fill with a joy and desire that he had never really felt before. They kissed for a long while, and then finally parted.

"I have never had a kiss that good in my life." Toshitari said.

"I haven't either. You'd better call me soon." Miyuki said. They said goodnight and then Miyuki went outside, where she met the other ladies.

"Well?" Natsumi asked.

Miyuki got stars in her eyes. "He was absolutely wonderful! I couldn't get enough of him! I felt like this is the man for me!" Miyuki said. "You may have to find a new roommate soon, Natsumi. I could stare into those rich brown eyes forever." She said with a broad smile.

"Looks like she's got it bad. Well, you know what they say, the better they seem at first, the uglier the secret." Natsumi said.

"Oh, you're just jealous because I found me a good man! Toshitari is so wonderful!" Miyuki said.

"You think any guy that doesn't try to grope you on the first date is wonderful." Yuriko said.

"I just feel that he's the one. I want to be around him all the time." Miyuki said.

"True, but we're still no closer to finding out if this place is legit or not." Aoi said.

"Well, we've still got three more dates, and that's three more chances to find out the truth." Natsumi said.

When Miyuki got home with Natsumi, she turned off the security system. Then she saw on the PC that she had an instant message. It was from Toshitari, saying how much he liked her and that he wanted to see her again. Miyuki couldn't help but blush at it. Unfortunately, it said the next time he had free was two weeks from now...
