Jealous
A series of drabbles spanning different universes and alternate realities. Adult content will definitely play a part later, rest assured.
"That's nice."
Blue stared. "Your best friend just proposed to your sister and all you can say is 'That's nice.'?" She folded her arms and stared. "Red! Be more serious! I'm serious!"
"...but what do you want me to say?" Red asked, sighing. "If he proposed, then it's up to you what you want, isn't it?" He eyed his sister warily, "Unless there is something you want me to do."
"I did kind of expected a jealous reaction out of you."
He looked at his sister blankly. "Jealous?" Red blinked. "Why would I be jealous?"
"Your best friend just proposes to your sister," Blue said, emphasizing each word carefully. "That means you'll have to share your best friend with your sister. That's me. Do you get it now?"
He thought about it. "Well... You guys would be married, wouldn't you?" Red looked back at his sister. "Why would I be jealous? It's just you... and Green getting married."
"Just?"
"Unless there's more and you haven't told me yet," Red offered.
"So you really don't feel anything for Green at all?" Blue frowned, her folded arms relaxing by her side. "Even though you've been best friends for so long?"
Red smiled. "Come on, sis, you marrying Green means he's really family now and he won't be able to run when it's Christmas." The smile evolved into a grin. "And the best thing is, he trapped himself. With you."
"Red! My marriage is not a trap!"
He laughed. "That's just a side-effect!"
"It's -"
"Does that mean you'll say yes?"
Blue halted mid-sentence. Nodding, she said, "I wanted to ask you and mother first." She smiled at him. "Thank you, Red."
It hurt to smile but he returned it to her anyway. "You're welcome, sis," he said as he tried not to cry.
"That's nice."
