ROCKSTAR
I'm assuming that most fans of the manga know that Takeru's look was based loosely on HYDE of L'Arc-en-Ciel. So the story plays into this. The story does cover some of the same stuff as the original with a twist. Hope you like it.
'The devil truly does exist behind those eyes' she thought as she ran her fingertips over the glossy surface of the photo tacked to the back of her bedroom door. The moonlight and air streaming in her window showed off the shadowy world she hid in when she was away from school and everyone. Walls lined overlappingly with photos of the
rockstar HYDE. Some with his band were partially covered by more photos of him alone. but her eyes, though appraising of the rock god, always came back to the two photos she had taken herself, hidden in plain view and the reason for her shameful self pleasuring almost every night. She sighed both from the unseasonably early spring humidty and the weird sadness that came from wishing that it was the other person touching her, and not her own clumsy hands pretending she could even fathom what it would be like to be touched by him.
Wadding up tissues she'd just used to 'clean' herself she tossed them towards the shadow cast trashcan. She leaned out her window to get some cool air on her face and to see if her mother was on her way home.
10:46pm the clock glowed by her bed and sure enough she smiled hearing her mothers laugh hidden below by the first storey hedge. Aother date. Kayano was happy her mother was dating again, she had been so lively lately, that she didn't stop to think how PATHETIC her own lovelife was. Or lack of. She hadn't even kissed a guy, let alone anything else. She stretched and decided that she would leave her mother to her privacy down on the quiet street, shielded by the hedge. The same piece of foliage that she herself relied on and the high brick wall facing their house as a way to ensuring her own nocturnal privacy.
There it was again. That weird little glow moving about. Across the road from her house stood the tall wall with tree branches gently cresting over here and there. It was a reminder that she and her mother weren't of that sort. Always on the outside of the affluent people's world. She had never cared much really and paid little attention to her view normally, but lately late in the evening she would see something small and glowing. It would gently move, in a fairly constant pattern, and even pulsate brigter for a few seconds. But what it was she couldn't assertain. Where the moon shon to light her room in a surreal fashion on her side of the street, the copse of tall trees seemed to fight the moon creating a complete impenitrable darkness on that side. She always mused to herself it was some lone firefly, who was just waiting for the rest to show up. She really was a dork, who makes up crap like that? She gave up wondering and stretched letting the feeling of sleepiness take over and climbed ontop of her bed, too hot to get under the sheets. she was already asleep when her mother came in a short while later to check on her.

"Kayano you seriously need to get a new crush he is so old." Kyoko said rolling her eyes at the photos of HYDE that Kayno kept on the inside cover of her work book.
"I don't care." This was her usual answer when the subject of HYDE was brought up.
"Okay sorry I said anything."
"Kayano why don't you go for a kid like that. He's got a HYDE thing going on." Natsuka pointed out the classroom window.
"Who?" Kyoko jumped at the chance to see any hot guy. "Oh yeah, he's even got that wild spikey hair, his clothes are a little out there, but expensive looking. Maybe he IS a rockstar. Come here Kayano look."
"Nah it's okay."
"Geez why so afraid of dealing in the real world? You've got your own live rockstar hottie right here on the school grounds." Kyoko flopped into the chair infront of Kayano.
"I do live in the real world. I just want to eat my lunch if he's here now, he'll still be around tomorrow right." She said waving her rice filled chopsticks, and smiling halfheartedly.
"Geez girl we need to get you laid. When rice comes before guys, there's something seriously wrong!" Kyoko snickered and fluffed her curly locks.
Kayano said nothing but concentrated on her food, not even really tasting it.
"Who was that anyway? He was really cute." Kyoko asked Natsuka.
"I'm not sure, but he's not in our year level maybe he's a first year?"
"Oh really? Hear that Kayano, instead of an older rockstar what about a younger one?" Kyoko kept teasing.
"Hey did he have brown hair with like cherry highlights in it? All spiky and wild?" A classmate on the other side of the room asked weaving between seats to get a look. "where is he?"
"Yeah he did. You know him?"
The girl looked at Natsuki offended. What's not to know? That was the 'PRINCE OF ATTRACTION'. Edogawa Takeru." She looked around and pouted that he was already out of view. "Everyone wants a piece of that." She almost drooled. Well actually she did a little, making Natsuki step back in case a nosebleed was to follow.
"Is he really that great?" Kyoko smirked at the girl. Always the cool one, she hated to show that she might be excited by the prospect of someone known as 'the prince of attraction'. "what's that Kayano? Did you say something?" She was sure she'd heard her friend say something. But Kayano just looked at her food with those wide innocent eyes, shaking her head."No..."
She never had to guess who they were talking about, she seen him for the first time about a month before. Though this was the first time she'd had a name to go with the face. She hadn't wanted anyone to think she was interested in him, so she never had the nerve to find out. since the first time she'd seen him it seemed that he was always about in the halls, cafeteria, yards, wherever she seemed to find herself. Was she following him without even realizing? She didn't know, but at least he hadn't seemed to notice her subconcious stalkings. She wasn't paying much attention to the conversation around her until her book was jostled next to her.
"He never used to dress quite so crazy as he does now, and his hair wasn't always so spikey or even as long as it is now. I think someone told him he looks like him." she pointed at the photos in Kyano's notebook.
"It's weird that a guy running around like that and Kayano hadn't noticed him. I'd have thought she'd be the first one to be singing his praises." Natsuki mused.
"Nah Kayano only likes the real thing. No way she'd settle for a little school boy."
"I don't know he's pretty cute. If you ask me it must be fate." Natsuki grinned at Kayano, who for no real reason turned bright red.
"What must be fate?" Kamiji said as he sat down in his seat. Class was about to begin, so Kayano used the excuse to rush her lunchbox back to her locker. "Gee did I say something wrong?"
"Nah Kayano is scared 'casue her crush has turned into a real person." Kyoko teased, pulling her books out of her bag and setting up. Not even noticing the flash in his eyes. "Hmm."
Kayano rushed back to her locker on the first floor, wishing her cheeks would stop blushing. Edogawa Takeru, first year student, and Hyde lookalike. And the resemblence seemed to be growing all the time. she felt something stir inside her, and she became even more flushed. "I've got to get this under control. Water fountain, there's a waterfountain by the lockers." She changed her direction and entering the alcove crashed herself and lunchbox into another person, lunchbox flying out of her grasp and sailing past, the remainder of the rice flying everywhere.
"Oh I'm so sorry. she pulled back and bowed to the tall boy, or whom she assumed was a boy clad in a heavy bright yellow raincoat. the hood was pulled up onto his head with a duck bill and eyes protruding from the top. All that was evident were a pair of peircing eyes and nose. "Umm.. are you..okay?" She was now more puzzled than anything.
"No actually this is an expensive jacket."
Kayano leaned around the silent 'big bird' and her voice caught in her throat, as Takeru stood pissed off swiping rice from all over his jacket. Small grains were even in his hair.
"Oh god, oh geez I'm so sorry." She raced around and started brushing off the rice, not even noticing that he himself had stopped. On tip toes she tried to reach into his hair to extract the offending grains, when she came eye to beautiful almond sculpted eye with him. She froze, and for a split second she thought she registered shock on his part too, but quickly it was hidden behind that intense stare she'd seen him give people outside his group. Okay so maybe her 'stalking' was a little more concious than subconcious.
"Are you stupid?"
"what!"
"Do you normally feel up guys?"He said without any emotion in his voice.
"what no.. no I'm truly sorry I was just trying to clean the rice.. in your hair.." she stopped talking as he leaned forward. so close that she though he was going to kiss her.
"You like touching me? You pretend to be all innocent, but you're really a bad girl aren't you?" He smirked, and looked at her expectant lips. He then turned away picked up the lid of her luchbox glancing at the tiny sticker of HYDE in the corner and thrust it into her hands, leaning in close to her again.
"Be more careful. Or next time I'll make you pay for your mistake."
If she were playing a game of 'freeze' right now she would have won. She couldn't think and she couldn't move, she just felt awed. Up close like she was, he really did look like HYDE, when he was younger. Wait he said something rude. What? Bad girl, not innocent. she snapped out of her daze and spoke before she thought.
"Bad girl. How dare you, all I did was spill my rice and that was an accident you jerk."
Takeru kept walking ignoring the statement, but 'big bird' turned and shook his head. Was this an omen of things to come?
"Did you just tell Edogawa Takeru that he's a jerk?"
Kayano turned to see a freaky looking kid with his head shaved and just three or four braids on top. "Well it's your funeral. Don't think just 'cause your a chick he wont get back at you." And with that he was gone.
"Oh man what have I done?" She looked around and gathered up the rest of her lunch box, and looked at the little picture of HYDE in the corner. "Would you want to kill me if I got rice on your coat?"
The bell rang for class, and she realized she was one storey too low, and still needed to get to her locker to put her lunchbox away.
"What else could go wrong with this day?"
