I do not own Samurai Champloo, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
You Never Know
A/N: Ok, so this is my first oneshot that I've written that is NOT in any way related to Naruto, haha. I've always loved Samurai Champloo and it's characters (particularly Mugen). Since I was extremely familiar with the series, I decided that I should try to write a oneshot for JinFuu, one of my favorite pairings. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out and I hope that you'll like it, too! So, on with the story!

The raven slowly waded through the relaxing waters, making his way to the rocky edge of the bathe. His muscles no longer ached, his cuts had stopped bleeding, and his mind was finally cleared of all his nagging thoughts. His dark eyes were gently squeezed shut, enjoying the feel of the warm water lapping against his beaten skin.
Soon he was at the edge of the spring, opening his eyes slowly as he hauled himself out of the water. Quickly, he stood from the spring and wrapped his well-worn towel around his lithe waist. With extra care, he raised his hands up and wrung out his long raven hair, letting it fall back into place on his shoulders.
He glanced around, taking in his surroundings before idly moving towards his glasses, which he left neatly on a rock. Picking them up, and blowing them off, he carefully put them back on his face, adjusting them slightly on his nose, before reaching for the hair tie that he had laid beside the wire-rimmed glasses. He gradually work out the remaining water in his hair with his spare towel, before wrapping the loose strands up with the tie.
Jin leisurely glanced around at the landscape, wondering where he placed his clothes. He was sure that he had placed them to the left of the rock that held his glasses, but the rock that was there was empty. He sighed heavily, understanding now what happened to his clothing. Mugen. He chuckled inwardly at his rival’s attempts in making him look like a dumbass. Damn him and his little tricks.
A chilly gust of air hit Jin’s still damp body, making goosebumps appear on his scarred, pale skin. He thought it was best that he got back inside of the inn, where the three of them decided to stay for the night. He gave an annoyed grunt, as he padded into the dimly lit hallways of the inn. He felt uncomfortable walking around in just a towel. If only Mugen was near, he would have liked to slice the man in half.
Finally arriving at his door, he slid it open and stomped in, sliding the door shut, he leaned against it breathing heavily, happy to be back in the warmth and darkness of his room. Jin stretched tiredly and made his way over to a pile of neatly folded robes, as he carefully slipped out of his towel and into the dark blue robe. There was a slight squeak when his towel hit the floor, but then the dark silence enveloped the room once again.
He tied it securely then tilted his head slightly, trying to hear where the noise came from and if it was a threat. He could see someone moving slowly in the shadows, as he quietly bent down and picked up his katana, readying for an attack; but it never came. He looked back over at the mysterious lump huddled up against the wall, trying to conceal itself.
“Fuu.” his voice rang out, dryly.
“Oh, Jin, I am s-sorry! I was j-just delivering your robes when you walked in and…” she trailed off, her voice sounding squeaky and nervous. A slight pink had stained her cheeks and she had a weird feeling in her stomach at the sight of her companion’s naked flesh.
“It is alright. Tell me, why did you hide when I came in?” he asked, tucking his katana safely away underneath his robe. He stood up again, and made his way over to her, offering a hand to help her up. Fuu took it, still slightly flustered with the whole naked Jin thing.
“It is very dark. Here, let me light some candles!” she hurried over to the wall that had a candelabrum on it and quickly lit the many candles, effectively illuminating the room with a lovely glow. She turned around quickly, not noticing that the samurai had moved to just a few inches behind her, as she spun around, she bumped into him, the color on her cheeks reddening.
“Why did you hide?” he asked again, in his normal monotone voice.
She apologized quickly for the accidental bump, which made the butterflies that were in here stomach spread there wings and take flight. “Oh, that… I was just, uh… I didn’t think you would have wanted my company.” Fuu said, smiling sweetly, trying to calm herself down.
Jin gave her a skeptical look and moved forward a bit more, bringing them even closer. “Why wouldn’t I want your company?” he asked, his onyx eyes burning into her chocolate ones.
“I-I don’t know, I just thought that you might have been busy with something…” she stuttered, moving back a little, only to have Jin move forward again.
“I am never busy,” he said, inching towards her again, “did you want something, Fuu?”
“N-no, Jin, I was jus--” her sentence was cut short as she felt Jin’s hot breathe against her ear, and his silky smooth voice entering her ear.
“I want something, Fuu. Do you know what that ‘something’ is?” he asked, letting his lips fall upon the conjunction of her ear and jaw line, kissing it softly. He chuckled softly in her ear as he heard her sharp intake of breath and the shivers that roamed over her skin.
“J-Jin?” she called, thinking that this person was an imposter, the real Jin would never do this. Would he? She was scatterbrained, nothing seemed right. It was too hot in the room, but it was cold a moment ago. It felt as though the walls were closing in on her, when in reality they were standing still. It felt as though Jin was doing this stuff to her, when in reality, he was. She couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
He pulled his face back, so that they were face to face, mere centimeters apart.
“You. I want you, Fuu.” he breathed out, his breath cascading over her face like a warm blanket. Her breath caught in her throat as her heart began to pound hard in her chest as he leaned forward.
Closer and closer they got until their lips finally met in a sweet kiss. It was slow and soft but gradually got faster and harder as both of them expressed their feelings for the other. Fuu finally gave up believing that it wasn’t real, the feel of his body pressed up against hers was real enough for her.
After what seemed to be an eternity, they broke apart, both breathing in each other’s scent and the fresh, chilly air that filled the room. Jin wrapped his arm around her waist and brought her closer to him as they stood there like that for a few moments, reveling in what had just happen.
“What the hell is going on in here?” came the low, husky voice of Mugen from the now open door. Both Fuu and Jin jolted, separating immediately. Jin kept his face cool and calm, while Fuu’s face was still flushed and flustered looking.
“Does it l-look like anything is going on here, heh?” Fuu fake smiled and laughed, causing Mugen to raise an eyebrow at the girl who was acting strangely. Not like she acted strange before or anything… he sniggered inwardly as he looked from Fuu’s face to Jin’s and back.
“Right… well, what are you two waitin’ for? Lets get out of this hellhole.” he sneered, spitting on one of the brightly burning candles, putting it out instantly. Fuu groaned in disgust while Jin just shut his eyes cursing Mugen for ruining his time alone with his Fuu.
“Mugen’s right, we should head out. We should be getting close to Nagasaki, right?” Fuu said, smiling brightly towards Jin, who nodded in agreement, stepping forward to follow Mugen until Fuu’s arm reached out and grabbed Jin’s sleeve.
“Just to let you know, I liked what I saw.” she giggled quietly and ran after Mugen, leaving a dumbfounded Jin behind. Mugen came strutting back in, with Jin’s clothing draped messily over his arm.
“You might want these.” he smirked, throwing the wrinkly clothes towards the samurai. Jin sighed and quickly slipped into his normal attire before following the other two out into the darkness of the night.
