Dimension. A remote layer of a World.
World. The sum of all Dimensions.
Universe. The sum of all Worlds.
Each world has its own story,
Few share an equal tale,
Union won’t always bring glory,
Destiny will decide if it will fail;
Those are the words that remained through the ages in a particular world, written on 16 of its dimensions. Each of those holds a secret…a shard of a key, but not all doors are meant to be opened.
Long ago a forbidden door was broken and the consequences of that are still to be seen, but life itself is based on the infinity of possibilities and not even the so called Gods fully understand the threads of destiny where they stand. They merely exist for eternity opening and closing doors, molding the past, present, future, space and time. All for reasons that will always be unknown to the so called mortals.
Destiny. The sum of all possibilities that must be taken for the purpose of life.
Life. The biggest mystery in every Dimension, World or Universe.

~*~*~*~*~ The Darken Star – Chapter 1 ~*~*~*~*~
Vanessa Parker opened her eyes softly and slowly. She remembered nothing besides being shoved by a grinning reflection of herself, illusion or not, the truth was that she had fallen from a very high distance and her head was painfully aching along with the rest of her body.
The trainer couldn’t understand anything that was going on and her mind was a blurry mess, for a while Vi felt as if she had taken drugs and the only thing holding her to reality was an awkward stench in the air.
However, it didn’t take long until she realized that the texture below her was rather strange, it was fabric but underneath it there was something lumpy and hard. Part of her already had an idea of what it might be, but still she decided to use her hands to examine the strange thing she was standing on.
Immediately she screamed loudly as she realized it was a decayed body and ran terrified, Vi was nearly to scared to think but it did cross her mind that things couldn’t possibly get any worst. Unfortunately she was wrong.
Around her were nothing but walls and there were no exits or light, but as soon as she touched a gravel wall lights began glowing from the rocks, soon gaining shapes that the girl had only seen in text books.
“Unown…?” she wondered staring at the pokemon flying from the walls towards her.
After that multiple bright lights surrounded her mind and body detaching them one from another, she felt herself being lifted, tossed and twirled towards a soft crystal sky. But in the end she fell hard back into reality…a different reality.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“No missions today? That’s impossible…stop fucking around.”
“Today is the day of betrayal. No missions today.”
“Fuck…not even leftovers from yesterday?”
“The clan does not work on the day of the betrayal, I do not work today. All Pokemon must become idle until the sun rises again. Go home.”
“Listen Gliscor buddy…I am not part of this clan and I don’t even know what I am, so stop wasting my time…I’ll even do it for half the usual payment.”
“…”
“Half money? Only one mission left from yesterday. Find Sun Stone for Sunkern client.”
“Fine…”
The trip was rather short and easy, still not many pokemon would survive such a journey to the dangerous caves of the desert, but with the Sun Stone acquired it was now time to return the same way, repeating the journey before the starry sky disappeared.
Normally after a mission the pokemon could beam himself back into the inside of the fortress safely, but because he had no interest on returning so soon to an empty home he decided to make the journey back on foot. Thanks to that he was able to find another mission along the way, since in the middle of a newly formed crater was a fainted pink ball of fur lying on the sand.
~*~*~*~
“…”
Vi slowly opened her eyes, she was too weak to move and couldn’t feel her body. Her mind was back to normal, but somehow everything felt strange, adding to that she had no idea where she was now, it was a small home made out of what seemed to be clay.
“Rise and shine.” joked a strange voice, as soon as it walked towards the girl she noticed it was a pokemon…a Lucario…a shiny yellow Lucario.
“What…? A Lucario…talking…? Am I dreaming?” she asked confused.
“Not really. You’re awake now my furry friend.”
“Furry?”
“Did you bang your head or something?” he wondered.
“Kinda, I was on the ruins then I fell into a hole and then I was thrown into a hot desert before passing out…where are we? I don’t think there are any deserts in Sinnoh…”
The Lucario opened his eyes in shock.
“Sinnoh…? You came from Sinnoh?”
“Yeah…but I’m originally from Hoenn.”
“You’re…a human…?”
“Well duh.”
“Oh boy.”
“What?” she wondered.
“Well you’ll figure it out eventually…so I’ll just show you…” he answered grabbing something squared.
He put it in front of her face but in it she could only see a shiny pink Furret.
“What is this?” she asked thinking it was some sort of device.
“It’s a mirror…that’s you…don’t freak out.”
“…What?”
She tried moving her head around and the image followed her, soon after she tried to move but her body was different, the legs were tiny and had fur all over. It didn’t take long for her to faint once again.
~*~*~
“Here eat this…you’ll feel better.” said the Lucario holding an Oran berry in front of her mouth.
Right at the first bite she felt a strange energy entering her body, by the end of the fruit the girl was back to her normal state.
“Better?”
“I’m a pokemon…”
“Yup.”
“…Why…?”
“Dunno, but you’re not the first human to come here in the shape of a pokemon.”
“Where exactly is “here”…?”
“I’m not sure myself… but this town is called Terracotta Fortress, in this land there is nothing but sand, stones, caves and…more sand. Most pokemon formed clans to survive just like this one…the Blood Thorn Clan, they’re pretty much just a bunch of weak pokemon that’s why they need the fortress to keep predators out.”
“This is insane…what the hell is going on?”
“Well…in my opinion you fell from a different dimension and in here only pokemon are allowed to enter so…yeah, you’re a Furret now, deal with it.”
“Could my life possibly get any weirder…?”
“Yeah…it can.” said the Lucario sitting down in front of her with his legs crossed.
“What now?”
“Let’s just say humans aren’t exactly very well welcomed in here…if they find you they’ll most likely banish you into the desert…or finish you off.”
“Awsome.” she muttered sarcastically.
“You’ll be safe here…just make sure nobody see’s you.”
“Why are you helping me? I mean…who are you anyways?”
“Pokemon here don’t use names, just call me Lucario…I’m helping you ‘cause I honestly have nothing better to do…this is more than I normally speak in a month.”
“…”
That sentence made Vi take a better look at the pokemon in front of her, not only was he unusual for being a shiny form of a Lucario, he also had his ears pierced with several golden rings and the extensions had spikes on the bottom similar to the natural ones on his hands, his body had a few deep scars and his eyes showed the same signs of sadness and boredom his voice did. For some reason he didn’t sound or look like a normal pokemon, although she had no idea of what was considered “normal” there.
“I need to go back home…is that possible?”
“Maybe yes…maybe not.” he answered in his usual laid back slow tone.
“…”
“Basically I have only heard of a way out…and it was a legend, supposedly it’s true…but if it works or not…I have no freaking idea.”
“That’s better than nothing, what’s the legend?”
“Well…this clan used to live on an underground cave, it was dangerous and hardly anyone was left alive until an outsider appeared, they had never seen that species…but from what I heard I think it was a shiny form of a Roserade. He was a lost human just like you and in return for food and shelter he taught them techniques to improve their defenses, build better structures, gather better provisions…and so on. Together the clan and the human build this fortress and regained their strength, calling themselves the Thorn Clan in his honor.
But one day during the excavations for water supplies they found a sacred stone…and in it was a prophecy that was suppose to help guide lost souls into a temple that would fulfill their wish to return home.
To thank him they guided the lost human to the location…but when they got there instead of wishing to return home he wished for the most powerful weapon that the temple protected and vanished in front of their eyes.
After that they stopped trusting the creatures called “humans” and changed their name into Blood Thorn Clan. Today was the day all that happened…and here you are…so you can see why they wouldn’t enjoy meeting you…”
“…”
“…That’s why they hate humans? It’s not like he used the weapon to attack them, in the end he only helped them…” curiously she was speaking as if the Lucario was an old acquaintance.
“These pokemon are sensible creatures, anything offends them easily, that’s one of the reasons why I don’t socialize with them…”
“…You know what’s the strangest thing on that story?” she asked with an inquiring tone.
“What?”
“The fact that they never saw a Roserade and you did, they also don’t seem to know what humans really are…and you even know Sinnoh. You’re like me aren’t you?”
“You’re good…” he joked.
“My name is Vanessa Parker, call me Vi. I’m a professional trainer…what about you?”
“Simply call me Lucario, the person I used to be doesn’t matter anymore…”
“But…”
“If you want me to help you I suggest not questioning me.” he interrupted with a much more serious tone.
“…sorry.” Vi answered realizing that she knew absolutely nothing about the creature in front of her.
“Listen, I have a plan…I will take you to the temple from the legend but for that I need to see that stone and learn the location. Only workers and rescue teams can enter the water supply caves in the center of the fortress…let’s just hope tomorrow they’ll have missions there, they’re kinda rare.”
“Rescue Teams?”
“ Yes…it’s a tradition here, they raise young pokemon in teams of three and make them have missions according to their strength and potential. Pokemon in distress pay fees and the rescuers earn 80% of that payment, the other 20% goes to the jack-asses that gather the missions and provide necessary backup.
I work alone and I’m the best rescuer they have, that’s why I get the toughest missions…and that’s why they allow me to live here, they need me.”
“I see…I thank you for wanting to help me. But I don’t think I can pay you…”
“Leave it. I have more than enough money already; It actually feels good to help someone that doesn’t feel disgusted with the idea of being saved by a human.”
“They hate you that much…?”
“I’m only accepted because the Lucario is a sacred pokemon, “the legendary savior”, also…shiny pokemon are seen as special souls. But maybe it’s just cause we’re humans or something…it doesn’t matter, they are disgusted by me anyways.”
“You could come back with me…”
“I have nothing to return to.”
“You should consider it.”
“Later. Now let’s focus on finding the location to the temple, it’s late so we should sleep…when you wake up I’ll probably be out already so I want you to stay inside with everything closed and train your new body.” he said knowing there was no time to waste.
“Yes…I don’t want to be a dead weight on the journey, I’ve never walked with paws before…”
“Learn to walk, jump and run perfectly. Leave the battling to me.”
“Okay.”
~*~*~*~*~*~
“Miners lost on water supply. Bring both miners back. Okay?” informed the Gliscor to a team of three young Sandshrew.
“I’ll take that mission myself.” interrupted the Lucario.
“You? I have bigger mission for you! Client wants Dragon Fang, extremely high payment.”
“That can wait, these three can’t handle that type of mission, if the miners fell on a subterranean river they’ll be useless.”
“…Okay human. Do that fast and leave for Dragon Fang today.”
“Fine, if you give me 90% of the profits for the second mission.”
“…85%”
“Fucking retard…you just gave me an excuse to do everything without looking suspicious and even get paid extra for it.” he thought to himself. “Deal.”
The underground caves were inside the fortress so there were no enemies to fight, which made the journey much faster than normal, all he had to do was head as low as possible until reaching water…the stone was somewhere around there. The poor miners would have to wait a little more.
Surprisingly the sacred stone wasn’t hard to find and nobody else was there watching over it. He carefully approached it and even though he could not read ancient pokemon symbols all he had to memorize were the celestial coordinates, which were very simple to understand and follow on that world.
On the other hand he spent all day searching for the miners, they were nowhere to be found, but eventually he discovered the two Sandslash holding themselves on stalagmites across a remote underground river, ironically he had been correct, if the newbie team had accepted the mission the miners would probably have died.
Later on, after returning he found the pokemon girl jumping in the air and attacking a defenseless apple with a Fury Swipes attack.
“I think I’m getting the hang of this!” she said happy but exhausted.
“Rest, in few hours we have to leave, you’ll need all your energy.”
~*~*~*~*~*~
The sky was now pitch black and every single star shined like there was no tomorrow, it was the most amazing view Vi had ever seen, but still she was too scared to appreciate it. Being carried on the Lucario’s back, she tried to relax while he ran through the sand using an impressive speed and agility.
“Is it safe to travel like this? With no light?? I don’t see anything!!” she complained worried.
“I’m a Lucario! I can sense Aura’s…trust me nobody see’s better than me in this desert! I won’t let anything hurt you!” he said in a more cheerful tone, he seemed to be happy only when he was being a hero.
“…”
“Why are you doing all this…?” she whispered with a sad but caring voice.
He suddenly stopped harshly.
“Listen…there’s something I didn’t tell you…”
“I think I know what it is…” she answered.
“You do?”
“There’s only one reason for us to be moving this fast…nobody would plan a journey like this in such a hurry without knowing that time was running out…”
“Like I said…you’re good…”
“Back in the Solaceon Ruins where I fell was a…dead body…please don’t tell me…it’s you.”
“Dead body huh? Yes…that’s probably me, I was on those ruins before being thrown in here.”
“Did you know…?”
“…That I was dead? I did, on a mission I had to save a priest Claydol and as payment he said he would answer me one question. I asked if I would ever be human again…but he answered that I was too late, I no longer existed in my home world.”
“…and you believe it? Why didn’t you try to do what we’re doing now?”
“Because…I don’t really want to return, like I said…I have nothing to go back to…”
“…”
“Let’s move on, we have no idea how long you’ll stay alive, time may not even be equal on both worlds…” he said holding the Furret on his back to make sure she wouldn’t fall.
“Before we go…can I just ask one more question?”
“Sure.”
“If you’re not gonna tell me your real name can I at least give you one? Lucario is too…tactless, even my pokemon have names.”
“…Really? You want too?”
“Hell yeah.”
*he laughs*
“Sure I’d be honored.”
“Luken. It’s softer and quicker to say, also it derives from the word “light”…for your yellow fur.”
“Luken it is then.” he answered without any sign of depression in his voice or face...which was rare for him. “We need to follow the largest star of the Tauros constellation, the biggest gem on the forehead basically, the temple is in that direction.”
“Thanks for everything.” she answered.
“Don’t thank me yet. We have a long road ahead of us.”
“Okay. Let’s go.”

“Okay. Let’s go.”
