I Could Get Used To This

This is a collaboration with wolvenlied from Ygallery and myself. ^__^

Those eyes. It was something about those black mirror-like eyes that drove Light to do this, over and over again. To put L beneath him. The first time he did it because he wanted to see a reaction in those dull eyes. He wanted to see a spark of emotion, a spark of anything.

The first night he took L to bed, he wasn’t sure how L would take it. He was so inhuman that Light almost felt like it would be like screwing a corpse. Oh, how wrong he was. That night, Light discovered just how human L was.

But that one night wasn’t enough. Light needed another dose of a purely human L, especially those eyes. Those blank eyes that seemed to vacuum in details suddenly turn into blissful orbs that shined with emotion. Light couldn’t get enough. Those eyes were his drug, his fix, and he didn’t want to quit this deadly game.

“Oh god!” L called out, burying his nose into Light’s nape.

Light smirked into the detective’s hair.

‘You have no idea.’

“Don’t you think it’s dangerous for you to be sleeping with the enemy?” Ryuk asked, feet firmly planted on the ceiling as he hung upside down.

Light sat at his desk, writing down names of criminals he was searching on his computer. “Dangerous of me? Or for L?” He put his pen down and turned his chair to face Ryuk. “If I’m going to be God, I’ll have to make some sacrifices, and if sleeping with L increases my chance of getting his name, so be it.”

Ryuk jumped down from the ceiling and onto the floor without making a noise. “So, are you hoping he’ll tell you his name while you’re sleeping with him?”

“I highly doubt that L will suddenly blurt out his name in ecstasy,” Light said, pressing his fist against his cheek, “However, if my relationship with women has told me anything, sex opens them up. It won’t be long until L starts to fall in love with me, and a couple in love share secrets.”

Ryuk chuckled. “I see now. So, L will fall in love with you and tell you his real name, and what if you can’t get that?”

“If I can’t get his name, then I will move to another plan.”

“You always have an ace up your sleeve.”

“Of course.” Light opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a large red apple. He tossed it to Ryuk who caught it giddily and began munching away obnoxiously.

When the apple was devoured, core and all, Ryuk wiped his large mouth on his sleeve and looked back to Light, who was once again scribbling names in the Death Note.

“Does this mean you’re a homosexual?”

Light paused in his writing, but did not look back to the Shinigami. “No,” he said, “I am not a homosexual. Sleeping with L is nothing more than just a step-ladder to my pyramid to creating a utopia. Once I get L’s name, I’ll get rid of him.”

Ryuk laughed again. Light’s eyebrows furrowed together. He turned around to see the Shinigami still chuckling, his shoulders falling and dropping rapidly.

“Why do I get the feeling that you’re hiding something from me?” Light asked, narrowing his eyes.

Ryuk shook his head. “I’m just highly amused, Light. Sleeping with the enemy. What if the tables turn, Light? What if you fall in love with L? Or worse, what if something happened and you couldn’t kill him?”

The brunet glared at the Shinigami. “What do you mean?”

That wide smile on the God of Death’s pale face increased. “There’s a way for you to find out, Light. All you have to do is make the deal.”

Light knew of the deal he was talking about. However, it was strange that Ryuk would bring that up again when Light had refused.

“I do not want the Eyes,” Light said again.

Ryuk shrugged. “Okay then.”

Light gave him one last look, still feeling that Ryuk was hiding something very important to him. However, he knew any attempt at making the Shinigami spill his guts would be effortless since it had been clearly explained to him that Ryuk just didn’t care who won this little battle.

“I might be Kira.” Light sighed.

This was it, it was time to set his cruel plan into motion.

Immediately he felt his father’s arms on his shoulders gripping him hard. Those old brown eyes looked into his.

“What are you saying, Light? This can’t be true.”

Light moved away from his father.

“No, Dad, if Ryuuzaki is the greatest detective in the world and suspects me of being Kira, then I must be Kira even if I’m not conscious of it.”

“We placed cameras in your room and didn’t notice any strange behavior.” The sugar addicted detective butted in.

“I believe deep down everyone has the power to become Kira. I could even be doing it without knowing. Please, Ryuuzaki, confine me. I don’t want to be the one responsible for killing hundreds of people. I need to know for sure that it’s not me killing all those people even though they deserved to die.”

“Very well, Light-kun.” The Chief stood up suddenly and turned to L. “If you’re going to confine my son, then please Ryuuzaki, confine me too.”

“Dad…” Light called out. “You don’t have to do this.”

“He’s right Chief Yagami …”

“No,” the Chief said. “I’m doing this or I won’t allow you to arrest my son.”

“Very well.” L summoned Watari who brought a tray with handcuffs, a blindfold and soundproof earmuffs. Light took the blindfold and earmuffs and put them on then stretched out his hands for L to bind them. He was spun around by the detective a few times before he was lead out the room and down the hall. He couldn’t see where he was going but had the feeling he was going down in the lift to the basement of the building. When L finally removed his restraints he blinked and looked around allowing his eyes to adjust to the dim light surrounding him. L was standing outside the bars of his prison cell.

“I have installed cameras and microphones so I can monitor you from where I work.” L assured him, “I have to ask you one more time, Light, are you sure you want to do this?”

Light gave a small nod, his head lowered in shame. ‘That’s it, L, lock me up and I will prove to you I’m not Kira while in the meantime criminals will still die.’ Under his hair bangs that covered his face an evil smile crept on his lips.

“The cameras aren’t turned on yet,” L said unlocking the door of the cell and entering.

“Ryuuzaki, what are you doing?” Light exclaimed. “You can’t come in here. What if I try to kill you?”

“Then it would prove you are Kira if someone were to fine me murdered in your cell. Besides your hands are also tied behind your back unless you are some kind of Houdini.” The detective, slightly bemused brought his thumb to his lips.

“Why the smile, Ryuuzaki?”

“You.” He leaned forwards and kissed Light. His tongue traced along Light’s lips.

This would be his last kiss from his lover for a long time.

“Ryuuzaki,” Light breathed when their lips parted. ‘That felt good.’ This was the first time L had actually kissed him with this much passion. ‘No, don’t fall for this. You’re using him remember.’ Light corrected himself mentally.

“I’m actually going to miss your company, Light-kun, but please don’t tell anybody I said that.” L said caressing Light’s cheek. “I have to go now. The next time you’ll hear my voice is through the speakers I installed.”

And with that L left Light alone in his cell.

Light ducked his head, his hair covering his face like a veil. As he heard the scraping sound of L shuffling his feet grow faint, he allowed himself a small smile. Just a few more days and he would commence with phase two.
