Title: Worlds Collide
Summary: Two years after Savers ends things turn for the
worst again, digimon attacking as Marcus and Thomas attempt to deal with the
teenage years, dealing with the return of Thomas’ boyfriend. But that’s not the
biggest problem. There is an enemy they cannot defeat and worlds have clashed,
bringing a new enemy that is more than they appear and even less forgiving than
the digimon.
Pairings: Thomas/MOC, Marcus/Yoshi, Taito, Daikari, Taken, Kristy/Miyako, Iori/Keenan
Notice: Yes I know how 02 ends,
and I know Savers ends with digimon leaving and DATS being no more, thus I am
taking creative liscense. Yes, I also know I am
mixing English Savers and Japanese 02 names, once again, creative liscense due to the fact that I watched the Japanese
versions of 01 an 02 but have only watched dub of Savers. Do not try telling me
things because they will be ignored and deleted. And if you have problems with the digidestined being the ‘bad guys’ then please leave, I
couldn’t care less about hearing your complaints.
Rating: NC-17, you have a problem with it please leave
Warnings: Yaoi/Yuri/Het I’m going all out on this one,
and don’t bug me for smut all the time, this is a full story with plot.
Thomas…
That was the first thing on the blond’s mind as he stared
out the window, sighing slightly. Honey brown eyes focused on the wispy clouds
dreamily before sighing. Nearly three years in America under the guise of an
exchange student had not helped relieve his mind. No, as they say, absence
makes the heart grow fonder. They had been together so long and even now he
didn’t know if would see him.
He was a part of DATS, or the Digimon Data Squad, but not
completely out of his own choice. He had lived on his own for a time, raised by
Commander Samson but not out of kindness. No, he was a suspicious child, found
with a digi-egg cradled in his small arms. As far back as he could remember it
had been there. As a child they only had one choice, turn him into a member of
DATS. The egg had hatched into a DemiMeramon, soon digivolving into his
digimon, DemiDevimon. Ever since then DemiDevimon had been his partner in the
fight to protect the digimon and the human world.
Letting his eyes fall shut Joey finally let his mind
focus once more on what was ahead of him, hearing DemiDevimon’s voice reach him
from the digivice attached to his belt.
“Joey, are you doing okay?”
“Yes DemiDevimon,” he sighed slightly, leaning back
against the seat. His legs were cramping from the lack of leg room in the plane
but he couldn’t stretch them out. He looked just like a normal teenager, out of
his DATS uniform, and no one would ever suspect the truth. “I was just
thinking.”
He was highly intelligent for a teenager, granted not up
to the realm of genius but he had spent a bit of time programming. It was his
pride and joy and had been used by the American DATS unit in order to program
their computers.
“If you say so,” there was a sigh heard from the digivice
and Joey knew his partner was questioning him. It was shocking since
DemiDevimon usually urged him to get lost in thought every once in a while
rather than staying so grounded.
“Just thinking about Thomas. I wonder if he’s back from
Austria yet.”
A giggle was heard and that caused Joey to smile. They
had been partners for so long but six months into his American stay he had
received an e-mail from his partner, friend, and lover stating he was being
sent to Austria. No doubt they kept even a genius like him busy. Being separated
for so long would no doubt be the greatest test for their relationship but Joey
knew he had a promise he needed to keep.
“I’m sure he remembers Joey,” he assured his partner and
a smile crossed Joey’s lips again. He had been chosen for the American
assignment for more than his programming knowledge. Discovered in an American
orphanage his English was a little rusty but still quite usable.
Joey was about to make a snide comment before turbulence
hit the plane, his fingers curling around the armrest, and the seatbelt light
flashed as the pilot came over the loudspeaker to announce they’d be landing
soon. Reaching for the seatbelt he secured it, relieved to finally be back
home. Though born an American, Japan would always be his home.
“Yoshino, I have an assignment for you.”
“Sir!” The girl stood up, quickly saluting and glad for
an escape before Marcus and Thomas made it in. Being the only thing keeping
them from killing each other was a daunting task.
“I need you to meet the plane coming in from America
today,” it was an easy task and one that it didn’t seem that she would be
assigned when she knew others would rather do it.
“But sir, wouldn’t Thomas be better suited?”
At that the Commander smiled briefly before the digimon
around his neck spoke up. “Yes, but if Thomas was sent he’d be taking the rest
of the day off-“
“And I’d like to actually see my son before he is whisked
away by duties or otherwise,” Commander Sampson finished. Though Joey refused
to call him ‘father’ he viewed the adopted boy as his son. Nothing would change
that bond and he knew the teen saw it the same way even if he would not call
him so.
“Yes Sir,” Yoshi saluted again before glancing over at
her digimon partner. “Come on Lalamon, let’s go before Thomas gets back and
tries to steal the assignment.”
“You almost lost us that mission, you arrogant fool,” the
voice was calm but angry and Yoshi smacked her forehead as her pink and green
digimon hovered beside her. Right on cue: Thomas and Marcus.
“If it wasn’t for your plans pretty boy I would’ve had it
in the bag! You got in the way!”
“Not if you actually followed them.”
“Boss… I’m hungry!”
Yoshi groaned, seeing Marcus and Thomas round the corner,
Agumon and Gaumon trailing after them. Glancing towards the Commander she hoped
desperately for a sign if Thomas knew of the incoming plant to which the man
just shook his head. “This is the worst!”
“What is?”
Yoshi sweat dropped, seeing Thomas standing before her
and staring at her with curious eyes. There was no way she was going to talk
her way out of this one. “Well y’see, I just got an assignment and I need
Marcus for it! You know how bad it is going on assignments with him!”
Nice cover Yoshi,
but now you have to take Marcus with you…
“I see,” the blond answered calmly, moving over to the
computers and seating himself. Yoshi gave a sigh of relief as Marcus gave her a
weird look before snorting. Despite the fact that she somehow managed to date
the stubborn ass she didn’t know how she dealt with him.
Besides, she knew the Commander had a good reason for
keeping this from Thomas. Sure he tended to struggle to focus and blush
uncontrollably in this sort of situation but what’s more she was certain the
Commander wanted it to be a surprise. They all knew now was a difficult time
for Thomas as he struggled to find a cure for his sister’s illness and not
having a family. Most teens enjoyed their sixteenth birthday but Yoshi had a
feeling Thomas was not doing so.
“Come on Marcus, let’s go!” She called out, pulling the
teen after her.
“Alright, it’s fightin’ time!”
Not quite Marcus.
“So if we’re not fighting what are we doing?”
Yoshi sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair. “We
need to pick up an important member of DATS from the airport.”
“Aww!”
Marcus gave a loud groan as he leaned back. “Then why’d I have to come!”
“To get Thomas off my back.”
Now Marcus was interested. Leaning forward he gave Yoshi
a cocky grin. “Spill. Why can’t Thomas know?”
“Well you know today is his birthday, right?”
“Damnit!”
Marcus smacked his forehead. “I completely forgot!”
Yoshi sighed, shaking her head slightly. “You won’t have
to worry about it if this goes well,” she added with a smirk. “Anyways, this
member is one of the DATS agents, but he’s also the Commander’s adopted son.”
“So? Still don’t get what this has to do with Thomas.”
“He’s also Thomas’ boyfriend,” Yoshi added with a
triumphant grin, seeing Marcus’ shocked expression. “They’ve been an item for
years, not like they did anything. Thomas was always too young. Anyways, six
months before Thomas was sent to Austria this guy, his name is Joseph but he
prefers Joey, was sent to America to help out there. He’s been there ever
since.”
Marcus quickly recovered and when Yoshi thought he was
going to say something intelligent he completely destroyed Yoshi’s
dreams. “BLACKMAIL!”
Yoshi smacked her forehead again, wondering if Marcus
could get any stupider.
Then he grew somewhat serious again, or at least as much
as he could manage. “So why can’t Thomas know? I mean, it’s his boyfriend.”
“Because if he knew Thomas would be two
steps short of a blubbering idiot all day long. You know what he’s like,
gets all flustered and turns red as a tomato and stutters like some idiot.
Thomas may be smart but he hasn’t seen Joey for nearly two years. He’d get so
nervous. I mean, what would you do if I was gone for nearly three years?”
“Praise the gods for the peace and quiet,” Marcus was
then smacked over the back of the head as Yoshi gave him an evil glare before
Marcus began pleading for forgiveness.
“I don’t know if the Commander planned this but this’ll
be the best ever birthday surprise for Thomas,” she said, grinning only to be
matched by Marcus’.
“Alright! I’m going to take
pictures and post them on the internet!”
“Why do I even try?”
Joey stretched slightly and yawned as he got off the
plane, his carryon bag slung over his shoulder. It was good to be home and off
the crowded plane. Rolling his shoulders slightly he wondered at what the best
option to get to headquarters would be. While a rest to catch up on Japanese
time would be nice Joey knew he wouldn’t have the time.
“Joey!”
Lifting his head he glanced towards the red head, giving
her a brief nod before heading in the general direction. “Yoshino, it’s been a
while,” pausing for a moment he glanced at the boy beside her. “And this must
be the infamous Marcus Damon.”
“Uh… yes sir!” Marcus brought a hand up in a salute as he
eyed the blond. He didn’t look like anything special, just a normal teenager
but Marcus knew better than that. All members of DATS carried some sort of
secret skill and a mean right hook to boot. Grinning for a moment Marcus
wondered how good his fighting skills were. He couldn’t be the ultimate fighter
if there were ones he hadn’t fought before.
“Don’t even think about it Marcus! We don’t have time for you to pick a fight!”
“Please, drop the formalities. Call me Joey,” he said,
offering his hand to Marcus as the other took it, taking this time to size up
this new member.
“Joey, your father sent us to pick you up and bring you
back to headquarters,” Yoshi quickly alerted him, giving Marcus a suspicious
look.
“I see,” he mentally sighed, knowing what Commander
Samson was doing. The fact that it was Yoshi picking him up was enough to alert
him to the fact that Thomas was indeed back in Japan and on the schedule. Though
meeting with the others before meeting up with Thomas because once he met up
with him he would be busy for the rest of the evening.
Holding up a simple package Yoshi smiled broadly. “It’s
from your father,” she explained. “You’ve grown since last time and he had your
new uniform tailored to your size.”
“Thank you,” giving a slight bow of his head Marcus
rolled his eyes, watching the blond leave to change.
“Man, so smooth. Guys like that make me sick,” Marcus
grumbled loudly.
“He’s changed,” she said, glancing at Marcus. “He used to
be real out going, not as stubborn as you or Thomas, but just as wild, even if
he was the Commander’s son. The most important thing was the mission but insisted
on having fun doing so.” Yoshi sighed, shaking her head before glancing at
Marcus. “But unlike you he actually knew when to take things seriously,” she
said, shaking her head.
At that Marcus crossed his arms over his chest before
giving her the evil eye. “I am too mature!”
“I’ve heard otherwise,” Joey interrupted them, coming up
behind Yoshi and Marcus. It felt good to once again be in the blue jumpsuit,
the collar high and uniform jacket buttoned up. The utility belt was wrapped
around his waist, black digivice hooked onto it. The blue and white high boots
were pulled up to his calves and earpiece once more against his ear.
“Like you would know,” Marcus snapped at him as Joey
turned towards him.
“Thomas told me about you,” he added with a smirk.
“Joey… I want to get out…” DemiDevimon whined as Joey
picked up his digivice.
“Just be patient, we’ll get to DATS soon,” he explained
to his digimon as he glanced at the other two. ‘Well, shall we get moving?” He
asked, studying the two for a moment. Yoshi just shot Marcus a look, raising an
eyebrow at him. It was certainly going to get very interesting with Joey back
in town. She still remembered when he had left, how badly it had hurt the then
vulnerable Thomas. But he hadn’t done it on purpose. It was an assignment that
he had to take and that could not be argued.
Attaching his digivice to his belt once again he sighed
slightly, following Yoshi and Marcus outside. He knew the Commander would want
him back at work however even though everything inside of him wanted to find
Thomas and take a well deserved break.
Taking the front seat with Yoshi he leaned back, sighing
slightly as his fingers brushed through his hair before a beep sounded next to
his ear. He missed that sound.
“Yoshino here,” she quickly answered.
“Digimon signals in Area C, Sector 29,” echoed over the
care speaker. “Rendevous with
Thomas and Keenan.”
“Yes sir,” she quickly answered, taking a sharp turn
towards the other way.
“What’s going on?”
“The worst.”
Why were digimon attacking now? Over a year at peace and
they had suddenly appeared? There was nothing good about this situation. When
the order had come through he had left his computer, running out of the room as
he tore down the street, knowing he was running out of time. What could have
happened to bring them to attack?
Running past them Keenan glanced up, followed by Falcomon. “Thomas! What going on?”
“Digimon are attacking,” he quickly explained, tearing
out from the building with Keenan on his heels. “He frowned slightly, glancing
towards the younger member. “We need to get to the area, now.”
“Sir, yes sir!”
Stepping outside he saw the car take a sharp turn and
opening the door to climb in the backseat with Marcus, Keenan and Falcomon crammed in between them. It was then that he saw
the blond in the front seat, staring at him for a moment. Catiously
he reached out, touching his shoulder.
Inside his heart was pounding as the man turned, the brown eyes the same. His exterior was still as
calm as ever but he could still feel his heart pounding.
“Joey… when did you get back?”
“About fifteen minutes ago,” he explained, gazing at the
other blond. “Thomas…” Everything inside of him wanted to pull Thomas into his
arms after so long and kiss him until he couldn’t taste anything else. But they
had a responsibility to this mission. Marcus watched as Joey glanced away. Staring into the rearview mirror. “I’m sorry, Commander
Sampson ordered me to not tell you that I was coming in. I don’t know why but I
wouldn’t disobey a direct order.”
“I see…” Marcus watched as Thomas leaned over them,
giving the other man a short kiss before pulling away from him. “Let’s finish
this mission and then we can talk,” he finally spoke up softly.
Joey paused in silence as the car pulled to the side,
Yoshi slamming on the brakes as Marcus flew forward. Groaning he slid back into
his seat, Joey jumping out of the car as his digivice was pulled off his belt
and held out.
“DemiDevimon, realize now!” The small bat-like creature
emerged, flapping his wings, a ball of black data emerging around Joey’s hand
before slamming down on top of the digivice. “DNA charge!”
“DemiDevimon digivolve to Devidramon!”
“No way he’s getting all the
fun! It’s fighting time Agumon!” With that all three boys tumbled out of the
backseat, Yoshi coming around from the driver’s side. Thomas couldn’t help but
give a sigh as his eyes lingered towards Joey, watching every move before
focusing on the digimon. Several champion level but certainly not a threat
given their team. This wouldn’t be difficult and certainly wouldn’t require
going to mega level. Granted Marcus had as usual gone charging in towards one
of the digimon, jumping towards the digimon in order to punch it.
Joey opened his mouth to try to stop such an idiotic
attack but stopped upon feeling a hand on his shoulder, turning back to see
Thomas behind him, Gaogamon racing past them. “Joey,
don’t bother. It’s like trying to stop a child from reaching into the cookie
jar.”
A brief smile touched the elder blond’s lips. “If you say
so Thomas,” with that he turned back towards Devidramon.
“Devidramon! Take Kabuterimon!” He ordered his
digimon, watching as the large black dragon took off towards the sky. “Force
him towards Peckmon!”
To Thomas it was refreshing to actually see someone use
planning again. Between two DATS digimon the champion didn’t stand a chance.
“Sunflowmon!
Back up GeoGreymon!”
“Gaugamon!”
Fear flashed across Thomas’ face, seeing his digimon thrown backwards. These
were not normal champions, certainly they would’ve
been able to beat normal digimon. Glancing up he saw Peckmon
and Devidramon forced back.
“DNA charge! Overdrive!”
Running his hand over the digivice it lit up, Marcus one step ahead of him and
Yoshi and Keenan right behind him, glancing towards the others to see ShineGreymon, Rosemon, MirageGaugamon, and Ravemon.
“This is the worst!” Yoshi, of course.
It was unheard of that they couldn’t beat anyone. They had stood up against the
Gazumon, Belphemon, and
King Drasil. Growling slightly Marcus tore towards
one of the digimon only to be knocked back. “Marcus! Stop!”
A growl broke out from Joey as well, the black DNA charge
exuding through his body before slamming his hand down on top. “DNA charge! Overdrive!”
“Demidevimon warp digivolve to Sakuyamon!” Joey’s
shoulders had bunched, staring towards the enemies as Marcus’ voice reached his
ears as well.
“Say what? The new guy has a mega?”
It was then that the digital gate opened, their enemies disappearing
without a single word. Staring ahead Marcus gaped, growling slightly. “Yeah! Run you wimps!”
“They’re gone Marcus,” Yoshi said, shaking her head.
Whatever was happening it was going to get out of
hand. This was worse than Kurata. At least then they
knew their enemy. “Well… that was interesting,” glancing over towards the
blonds she had to wonder how things would be between the two. They didn’t have
time to fight.
