Sweet Misery between 2

Tohru was standing at the sink, trying to decide what to cook everyone for dinner, when Kyo walked in. She paused in chopping the fruit for the salad and glanced at him from the corner of her eye. 'Wow, he's totally gorgeous,' she thought wistfully. 'Why can't he seem to like me back?' She pondered this, slowly cutting the apple so he wouldn't notice that she was there. Just then she cut herself and she let out a startled cry of pain.
Kyo jumped up in the air and she gave a little laugh despite her pain because she liked that she could still startle him. "Hello, Kyo-kun," she said, smiling so he wouldn't ask her what was wrong. He hadn't noticed the blood yet, and she was hoping he'd leave before he did before Shigure called Hatori-san and make a big deal over it.
He approached her menacingly, and backed her against the counter. "What are you doing, sneaking up on me like that?" he said softly, caging her in and sniffing her hair. She sighed but then regained her wits and pushed him gently away. After all, she didn't want to seem like she was throwing herself at him!
"Kyo-kun, I didn't sneak up on you! You weren't paying any attention when you came through the door, so you naturally didn't see me! Please don't blame me for you being unobservant." she said huffily, rolling her eyes. Kyo raised his eyebrows at her attitude and smirked.
"Whatever, Tohru. I'm going to the dojo now to be with Shishou. Make sure you save dinner for me when I get back here." He hugged her and walked out the kitchen without even getting what he came in for! She stared after him, her heart in her eyes, and wished that he would just see how much she cared about him--just once!
