Finding Love Beside A Grave
“What’s the matter?” The silver haired boy asked the girl he was walking beside.
“Wha?”
“What’s the matter? You’re spaced out again.” He points out to the young girl who was his partner both in being Guardians and also his personal donor.
“Oh sorry. Nothing.” She says, snapping out of her little episode and turning her attention to what was coming towards the two of them. She looked at the young pair and smiled at them when they met her gaze. Of course the young male vampire didn’t really respond, at least it didn’t look like it, while the young female vampire waved at her with a friendly hello from the short distance. Zero looked at the young girl walking beside him. He didn’t know why but he really didn’t like the idea of her being so friendly with the monsters. But then again he couldn’t really bark at her about it because she was partnered up with a vampire who she called ‘love’ rather then by his name most of the time.
“Come on.” He says and she looks at him then moves to fallow him as he turns, walking off in a slightly different direction.
She was teamed up with Zero for the time being until Headmaster Cross could find someone else to work with him. She didn’t really mind patrolling the grounds with Zero but she would have preferred to have just stayed inside and worked on those little ‘tasks’ she always seemed to be messing with.
Zero called to her and she looked up at him to find him looking at her again. Mostly watching her as he always seemed to be doing.
“What is it, love?” She asks as she stops, realizing he wasn’t walking any more. He glances down and so did she to find she was standing on his brother’s grave. Not even having been aware that she had walked that amount of steps ahead, she jumped back with a slight meep sound as she told the person who was buried in that ground she was sorry. She looked up at Zero seeing that same exact face as the person in the ground. It was now that Zero began pressing her for information on what was bothering her. Yet she kept telling him it was nothing. Zero was getting rather sick of hearing that same old excuse and moved in quickly, capturing her face in between his hands, a gentle hold and looked directly into those eyes that usually held such a burning fire in them. But now they seemed so distant and duel that it actually caused him to show his concern for the girl.
“Zero.” That one word, his first name, was all she had to say for him to know that she needed him.
“You can talk to me, you know.” He says, still gently holding your face in his hands, hands that felt slightly cooler then her own body heat. How nice it would be to have you sleep beside me, she thought to herself as she looked into those lavender eyes.
“You miss him, don’t you?” He says the obvious and slowly his hold leaves her face as his arms lower to his sides. Without saying any thing she turned her head to look at the stone that was the only thing to mark this spot as a grave.
“I will always miss him. He was a wonderful friend to me. Even though he didn’t have to be he still choose to do so.” She says and Zero knew the story between his twin brother and the young girl. And it sounded so much like Ichiru that Zero had smiled when being told the story. Then Zero watched as Rin kneels down beside the grave to place the item that she had brought with her, a box that contained a ring on a chain, into the ground. She held in her other hand the knife she always carried with her and slipped it into the soft soil, easily cutting the size and shape she needed to bury the box. Watching her pulling up the grass she placed the box in the ground then covered it making sure the spot looked untouched.
“There.” She says to herself as she looks at the ground. It was very clear just how much she really was missing Ichiru. Zero sometimes wished his brother was still alive. But then things wouldn’t be as they are with him and things weren’t all that bad. Sure Yuuki had turned out to be a pureblood vampire and had left with Kaname and Ichiru was dead. But when Zero thought about it he was actually glade about how it had turned out in the end. For one, this girl came into his life shortly afterwards. At first it drove him nuts but now he didn’t see himself without her there.
He looked down at Ichiru’s grave and silently thanked his brother for bringing this girl into his life. He had wondered if Ichiru loved her as much as the boy had led on and now he knew that his brother had loved this girl very much. She had been very important to him and now was very important to Zero. Some how this girl made him feel less guilty about being what he is and when it came time for him to feed. The headmaster was not very pleased about the situation between Zero and her but she had made it clear to the headmaster/ex-hunter that she would allow Zero to feed from her in any way he desired. And when Zero had heard that, having been standing right beside her, he about flipped out after recovering from his initial shock. And yet she had never pushed him beyond drinking her blood.
The girl turned her head at sensing movement beside her to see Zero kneeling down beside her, his hand lightly resting on her shoulder to which she lightly placed her hand over his. They both missed Ichiru and they didn’t hide that from each other. It was something to share some thing between each other and have that unspoken understanding and quite another to share something with someone and there be no understanding.
“Ever since I first met him I had always had this feeling there was something more unique between us. Something that Ichiru and I only shared and then when I met you…I felt it again, Zero.” She says, turning her head to look at Zero who was looking at her and without even saying a word she knew he too had felt it.
“I,” her words were cut off by the press of his lips to hers.
“I’m sorry. I just couldn’t hold back any longer.” He says and she smiles at him. Some how he understood what she was saying in that smile and he leaned in and this time they shared a slow loving kiss, being careful of the fangs, that left them both a little winded.
“I don’t know about you but that stirred my libido to life.” She says and he gave a slight laugh as he pressed his lips to the side of her head, loving this girl all the more. They both knew that this little kiss wouldn’t be the end of their adventures in the realm of sex. But for right now they just stayed closed to each and spent time at the one's grave they both loved and missed, Ichiru.
