Everyone makes mistakes. That I’ve come to realize. Unfortunately, I learned this lesson the hard way – the way someone never wants to learn these things. And my mistake may have just cost me her—may have just cost me Maka.

As I run down the street with the laughing sun high above me, the feeling in my gut that something’s wrong grows and grows. This feeling when I’m chasing Maka like this, it isn’t normal. I’ve made mistakes, minor ones, in the past and chased her just the same…but never have I felt the sinking feeling I feel now.

I turn a corner into an ally when I see hair the same color as Maka’s flutter out of, and into it for just a split second. I freeze at the scene before me, as I’m suddenly aware that the mistake I made just caused this.
