…Cause you’re gone

And my dreams are haunting me…

I wake with a start from a dream that seems too real,

But it wasn’t a dream at all.

My nightmare is my reality.

A kunai has severed the source of my life‘s blood.

My bed has grown cold.

It’s empty just like me…

…What makes me me is gone…

I’m like the newly blind.

I don’t know where I’ve been or where I’m going.

Nothing seems real anymore.

Without you, I remain undecided.

This life has become an impassible roadblock…

…A wall I cannot scale…

I see you everywhere I go.

There you are at the mall at your favorite store,

Hunched over your computer,

Behind the wheel of your Mercedes

That sits alone and afraid in the spot where you left it…

…Just like me…

I wake in the night to see you in bed besides me.

Like a mirage,

When I reach out for you, you vanish.

That’s when the nightmare becomes real.

You’re slipping farther and farther away from me…

…Please don’t go…

I need you here with me.

Sometimes I can feel your presence.

It gives comfort to my rising fears.

Your strong arms used to keep the nightmares at bay.

Now they‘re stalking me…

…They‘ve become my shadow…

My friends believe I’m getting along fine without you.

I even fool myself.

Then I come home and I’m all alone.

The emptiness surrounds me.

I’m trapped within its cold embrace…

…Where are you…

Like the Little Engine that Could,

I tell myself, “I think I can. I think I can.”

But a single thought has my resolve crumbling

And the pain explodes.

I fall back into the memory of you and me…

…It’s driving me crazy…

As night falls, I pray for a dreamless sleep.

My dreams have become my nightmares.

You’re always there haunting me

And taunting me

And forcing my hand…

…I can’t take this anymore…

I don’t know how to live without you.

This pain, it’s too real.

It hurts.

It hurts.

I want to die…

…Take me with you…

They say time heals all wounds.

But not for me.

Not me.

My wounds refuse to heal.

They’re still bleeding.

It won’t stop…

…Cause you’re still gone

And my dreams continue to haunt me…
