IMPORTANT! (Well not that important.. >3< )

So this is my first story EVER, I just want to try out my writing skills and writing a fiction about Vampire Knight (YAOI) is never wrong right?

Ummm, my grammar isn't that good so keep that in mind if you feel like killing me for those errors.

Royal Blood

Chapter 1 - Confused

Zero had run away from the only place he could call home. He knew why he had done it and he wasn't regretting the decision because it was the right thing to do...

He was standing in the clearing of a big forest, it was cold and dark. He can only hear the sound of the wind and his own steady heartbeat.

He closed his eyes tight “I can feel it...”

The blood lust was slowly ripping him apart, tearing away his human side leaving an insane blood thirsty killer.

Zero had no longer someone to feed from and in a weird way he was grateful for it, he knew that suicide would be a cowards way out and his master(1) would be disappointed if not ashamed... but truthfully he didn't give a damn anymore.

Kaname was after all not force feeding him regular like before, not trying one bit to keep Zero stable, instead he had made him fall... slowly and painfully.

Apparently after Yuukis transformation Zero wasn't worth keeping around, Yuuki had made that very clear.

Telling him that such trash as himself was only puppets for her entertainment, weird enough Kaname had reacted to her words, Zero had seen how Kanames eyes had darkened a bit, but nothing more, not a single word of protest. He just let Yuuki keep on insulting him in anyway she saw fit. Yuuki had not only made it clear to Zero that she was now much higher then him in social statues, but also that a princess could not be around a level-D, it was disgraceful.

“Those words really hurt...”

Zero remembered one day when a girl “accidentally” was going to throw a gift to Kaname and it hit Yuukis head.

Let's just say that the girl didn't get out of the nurse office until a week later. Yuukis punishment for her actions? The answer was simple: What punishment?

Apparently after the small accident Yuuki had told the chairman that the other girl had jumped on her out of jealousy when Kaname didn't accept her gift, everyone knew that it was a lie but no one pointed it out to the chairman for the fear of Yuukis wrath.

Zero had told Cross the truth but he believed her words over his, a knife stuck his heart that moment.

“Shush a foolish man”

He shivered slightly as he thought back at when everyone had started to act weird around him right after Yuuki's transformation.

Zero thought that they pitted him or surely that they were having a fun time with the concept of that Zero never suspected Yuuki to be a vampire, even less Kanames sister and a pureblood.

Yuuki had been noticing the same thing as Zero, the way Kaname looked at him, they had seen desire and longing, Yuuki had been furious but Kaname seemed to ignore her.

Zero started to avoid them both from there on.

“Why is it even bothering her? Kaname is Yuukis fiance... They are going to get married, have children. Be happy, be loved...”

Zeros eyes got a bit dull at his own thoughts. He then suddenly remember how Kanames face actually had showed some emotions when their eyes had meet when all the vampire walked to their classes, the look Kaname gave him had made Zero blush and his heart had speed up.

He didn't like that Kaname made him feel this way, it was all so confusing.

The emotions in those lovely brown eyes, the longing and sadness...

“Who the fuck am I kidding, he dosen't care about me. Those emotions ain't for me to see... or for me to have”

Maybe Kaname was playing some sick mind game with him: ´Let's make Zero freak out´, for Yuukis entertainment until the ex-human killed himself.

“They have succeeded if that was their intention”

Zero knows that Kaname will be happy now that he can have Yuuki all to himself, nothing getting in his way from getting to her heart.

Even if her heart had turned dark Zero still couldn't fully hate her.

With a sudden jerk Zeros eyes snapped open and he looks right into the bright sun, a hollow laugh echoes through the forest, even his own laugh is giving him the chills.

Zero isn't feeling stressed over how badly it was going to hurt... to kill himself... he was feeling calm even peaceful but then pain hit him and he knew his precious time were running out.

“I better do this now, before I go into 'survivor mode'”

His eyes landed on his right hand where his silver gun is resting.

Taking a better hold of it he trace his fingers lightly over the engraving. “Bloody Rose”.

“It's just me and you now, old friend”

He smiles sadly while pulling of the safety and directs the gun towards his head.

The sun is raising behind the tress and some of the warm sunshine is getting through, warming his cold skin. The wind is carefully playing with Zeros hair and a voice is shouting his name... wait.

“Back up... someone is calling for me?”

Zero turns around only to be tackled to the ground not so gently by no other then Kaname.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Kaname screams in his face, he seems to be very upset and angry but still... shouldn't Zero be the one screaming at Kaname?.

“What are you mad about?” Zero asks in a calm and rather soothing tone, even surprising himself by reaching his hand up against Kanames cheek caressing it to.. calm him?

“What am I doing?” The way Zero acts, it all seems to be so causal, normal, but he knows he would never 'normally' do something like this.

Zero would be shouting, insulting him, even ask if Kaname was fucking high on something but instead he just touched the mans cheek, stoking it almost lovingly? Kaname leans into the touch, it really seem to be calming the older one.

Zero frowns, pushing Kaname of him.. or he was trying to, but the taller one wouldn't budge.

“Don't resist me Zero or your feelings, in the end you will surrender to me, so please, try and remember”

Zero doesn't answer, he only gives Kaname a stern look, wondering if this vampire that is holding him down might be an imposter, the real Kaname would never act like this.

“Remember what?” Zero finally mutters out.

Kaname smiles again, but it's not reaching his eyes. It's making Zero to slightly shiver unpleasantly, unknown emotions bubbling up inside him.

Zero was so caught up in his own world he didn't even feel Kaname lifting him up from the dirty ground, pressing Zeros body tight against his chest possessively, walking calmly towards the school and that's when Zero finally 'wakes up'.

“Kuran! What the hell are you doing?! Let me go, NOW!” Zero shouts with all his might not only making them both deaf but also frightens some animals near by.

Kaname chuckles and leans down to whisper in Zeros ear, a soft red color spreading itself across Zeros face.

“No need to yell that loud, love” Kanames words are making Zero calm down, but he doesn't let his guard down just because he got a pleasant feeling while hearing Kanames voice. Everything seems like a dream, to good to be true.

“I must be dead already”

Zero stares up at the pureblood in confusion, then the words finally sinks in. “Love? Are Kaname pulling a joke on me again? I don't love Kaname, not in that way, right?”

Zero easily forgot himself in his deep thoughts but was quickly brought back to reality when he feels a strange feeling in the back of his head, a little voice warning him to stop day dreaming and pay attention.

Fear takes a steady hold of Zero and he shudders, there are powerful auras surrounding the school, unknown ones and pureblooded ones, he doesn't it at all.

"I have to get away somehow"

Quickly Zero comes up with a plan to escape.

“Kaname, I feel a bit dizzy. Do you mind putting me down for a second?” Zero ask in a gentle tone, trying to make is sound as genuine as possibly.

Kaname stops in his tracks and looks down at Zero and to his surprise Kaname actually looks concerned, he carefully puts Zero down on his feet, but holds on to him to make sure he can stand.

“You should have told me sooner that you didn't feel well” Kaname scolds him but with a light tone.

Zero leans his head forward making his bangs cover his gray eyes, he is thinking twice over what he is about to do, but then again he really doesn't feel safe going back to school, his mind is screaming at him telling him he is to vonurble.

“I have made my decision”

“Kaname...” Zero whispers out the name almost desperate, he looks up to meet two beautiful wine red eyes. Biting on the inside of his lip Zero make it seem as if he want to touch Kaname with his hand on the cheek as his hand is getting closer to Kanames face.

Guilt is carved into his heart as Kaname smilies softly with a hint of happiness lingering in those dark eyes, Zero had never seen him this relaxed before.

“What is it Zero?” Kaname asks with a gentle tone Zero never have heard before, Kaname hadn't even talked so softly towards Yuuki.

Zero press his lips into a thin line, Kaname seems to relies at ones that something is wrong. Zero moves quickly hitting a pressure point on Kanames neck with his hand and the pureblood immediately falls forward, Zero is ready to catch him.

Bending down Zero gently puts Kanames body on the ground not knowing that he is tracing his hand soothingly through Kanames chocolate hair.

The sudden smell of salt makes Zero stop with his movements, and he relies were the smell is coming from as he feel the tears running down his own cheeks.

Even as Zero whippes the annoying tears away they seem to just start running new ones down again, grunting in confusion Zero search for his gun, finding it between Kanames jeans and belt, he tucks it securely away.

Turning away to leave Zero catch himself turning back to Kaname giving him a soft kiss on the lips, then he stare at him for a bit before shaking his head in denial as the warm feeling from before keep streaming through his body.

Giving one quick glance at Kanames peaceful face Zero walks away only to then desperately start running.

Never have Zero been so confused before.
