Some People Do Crazy Things When They're In Love
Pairing: Hetalia-Sadiq/Alfred (BRAINBREAKER) And I totally blame Flayra, because I never would have thought about it if it weren't for her. But then I did think about it....and I liked it.
Short description: set in a modern-age, Alfred is an FBI agent, Sadiq is an architect. Idk why, it just kinda popped into my head and that's what I used. No real reason. Enjoy~
"What about these?"
Golden eyes stared at the round, red vegetibles, but the look was blank, like his mind was somewhere else completely. Alfred's brows furrowed a bit, ducking down a little bit to be face level with the man leaning on the cart's handle like he was extremely bored. He waved a hand in front of his face, with no response. Huffing, Alfred put the tomatoes in a little bag before he put them in the cart with the rest of their groceries. Moving to the other end of the buggy, he gave it a good tug forward.
"Hm-! What?" the tan man jerked and stood up straight, sunglasses nearly falling off his head. But at least he'd landed back on earth. "What?" he asked again when he spotted the blond.
"Sadiq, have you heard a single word I've been saying?" Alfred perked his brows, moving the cart around so he could push it himself.
"What? Of course, baby," Sadiq grinned as he gave a stretch, following behind as they moved through the produce section. "Weren't you talking about the blindfold, handcuffs and riding crop set I found on Kink.com?" he said rather unabashedly, and none too softly either, making other grocery store goers around them turn with rather confused and/or disturbed expressions on their faces. Sadiq, of course, was oblivious or didn't care. But Alfred stopped dead in his tracks and brought his elbow back sharply into the taller man's gut with a satisfying pained grunt for a response.
"Pervert," he grumbled with an annoyed flush, continuing on. "But thank you for solving the mystery of where your mind wandered off to."
"Geeze, babe, what's the matter?" Sadiq frowned as he rubbed his tummy, catching up to his boyfriend as they entered the bakery section. He put his hands on the cart handle when they paused, arms on either side of the shorter man, and leaned his face into a warm neck. "You starting your period or something?"
Alfred rolled his eyes with a small huff, nudging a tan arm out of the way so he could get the bread. Sadiq chuckled but took back over the cart again. "That everything?"
"Yeah," Alfred placed the loaf in a safe place so it wouldn't get squished. They meandered to the check out area, but when Alfred found a short line, Sadiq breezed right on passed it, heading for the other side of the store. "Wh-Sadiq!"
"We need one more thing," he called over his shoulder with a grin, leaving the blond no choice but to follow him, right into the health section. "Here we are~" he snagged a purple box from the shelf by the lady's time of month equipment, and Alfred flushed. "Oops, wait," Sadiq put the box back, picking another one, the word 'Trojan' written in white letters. He smiled charmingly at the elderly lady in the isle, shaking the box. "Needed the 'large'," he hummed, glancing to the shelf again. "Oh, look babe, 'fire and ice'."
"Shut up," Alfred, very pink in the face, punched his boyfriend to try to get him to shush. Of course, Sadiq just laughed and tugged the blond closer, leaning down to kiss his cute little nose.
"What? We used the last ones we had last night. And since you don't trust my sperm-"
"It's not that I don't trust it!" Alfred flushed even hotter, pushing the brunet's face away, though the man was grinning behind his fingers. "It's just..safer! And cleaner."
"I know, I know, I've heard this before," he tossed the box of condoms into the basket, removing the hand from his face so he could steal a soft, chaste kiss. "Now let's go home so we can crack open the box."
It took a little while for him to really notice something was off about his boyfriend. At first he was just figuring maybe the blond had a lot on his mind, he did work a pretty stressful job, and Sadiq had met his boss. Was a frikkin' slave driver. But even his normal tricks to get him to smile weren't working at all. In fact, his little Alfie seemed downright cross with him, but Sadiq couldn't remember doing anything to warrant such an attitude.
Gold eyes kept glancing from the television to his boyfriend from his take over of the couch. He idley pet the orange cat that jumped up onto his stomach, trying to figure this out. "You're off tomorrow, too, right?"
"Mhm," Alfred hummed from the kitchen were he was seasoning a pair of chicken breasts.
"We could totally bike out to the arbor, have dinner in town," he suggested in a hopeful voice. His boyfriend's off days were so sparatic and rare, he liked being able to just hang out with him, no government duties involved. Plus, he wanted him cheered up, at least back to his normal self.
"We totally could," but his tone didn't seem anywhere near excited. Finally, Sadiq sighed and slid off the couch. He padded into the kitchen where the blond was making dinner, setting the orange fluffball on the counter before he moved up behind his boyfriend.
"Alfie," he hummed softly, fingers sliding up his arms as he kissed the side of his head. "What's wrong?" he hummed against soft hair, eyes closing, breathing in the scent of their shampoo.
"Nothing," was the grunt he got in return, and it made Sadiq frown. He slid his arms about the man's waist, to keep him from shifting away, which made Alfred huff a bit. "I'm trying to make dinner."
"You're being a Mr. Grumpy-pants, you have been all day," Sadiq turned the blond around, lifting him rather easily onto the counter so they were face level. "So you," he gently poked his nose," are going to tell me what's got you tied into knots."
Alfred sighed, leaning back against the cupboards, crossing his arms. "There's nothing wrong, I just had a bad day yesterday. So can I get down?"
"Nope."
"And why is that?"
Blue eyes widened a little bit when the brunet's face came within less than an inch of his own, his expression nothing but seriousness. "Because you're lying to me." Alfred tensed a little in surprise, but looked very quickly away from those truth-seeking golden eyes.
"Did I do something to upset you?" Alfred shook his head a bit, much to Sadiq's relief. "Are we having financial troubles? Anything like that?"
"No," Alfred said with another shake of his head.
"Problems at work?"
"Why did you come to America?" Alfred asked rather suddenly, not even answering that last one. But he did meet his boyfriend's eyes, which held much surprise for the question.
Sadiq perked his brows, not sure is the other was serious before he chuckled like it was a silly question, "I would hope that was a little obvious. You're the one who said he couldn't do a long distance relationship."
"But who the hell just up and quits their life to move to a completely different country, just so they can follow a guy they slept with a couple times?"
"You seem to be selling yourself a little short, darling. I didn't just sleep with you a couple times, I do recall quite a few dates spread over quite a few months," Sadiq smiled fondly. "I also recall trying to quick learn English so we could actually verbally communicate on our third date."
"And that! Who bumps into a foreign guy twice, then tries to learn a whole new language just so he can hit on him, rather crudely I might add," Alfred's face flushed, but his brows were furrowed.
"Is this what you're upset about? How we met?"
"What? No!, No, it's just," Alfred huffed a little, having to look off to the side again. When he spoke, his voice was a lot softer. "Why haven't you asked me?"
Sadiq perked his brows, gently brushing sandy blond hair back from those sad blue eyes. "Asked you? Alfie," he snorted a small chuckle. "You have to let me get a ring first."
"What?"
"What? Asked you what?"
"What did you just say?" Alfred's face turned a bit red, pushing the tall man back a bit.
"Nothing, what am I supposed to be asking you?"
Alfred furrowed his brows, arms crossing over his chest again, "...asked me to push your application for a work visa along."
Sadiq's head tilted slightly to the side, his own brows furrowing as he looked thoughtful. "I didn't think you'd need to."
"You know it's going to take forever to process, right?"
"And until then, I'm on vacation," Sadiq leaned forward on the counter over the blond, smiling happily. "Lord knows I haven't had one in forever."
"And what are you gonna do once you get it? Hm?" Though Alfred was barraging him with these questions, suspicious look on his face, the Turkish man just kind of looked thoughtful.
"Well, I figured I'd find an architect's union, present my portfolio and try to get a job. I don't think it will be too hard," Sadiq just kind of shrugged. "Been doing my kind of work for a long time, my experience will speak for itself. And with the added income, we could certainly move into a bigger place. A house maybe?"
He gently moved the blond's knees apart, leaning against the counter between them with his arms wrapping warmly about his waist.
"Now, why the interview? Did you hear about my application for a work visa, is something wrong?"
Though Alfred wanted to push the man away, he just couldn't. And he made an aggravated noise, arms going about his neck to hug tight, face burying against his shoulder, even the legs about his waist crossing at the ankle behind his back.
"Oh, you're turning into a leech? You must be pouting."
"Shut up!"
Sadiq chuckled but held the man closer, humming lightly as he pet up and down his back in a soothing manner. "I don't like Pouty Alfie, Pouty Alfie usually burns dinner."
"Jerk."
"You love it."
Alfred turned his face into the man's neck, breathing in the comforting scent of after shave. "Yeah," he mumbled, "I do."
Sadiq rest his cheek against soft hair, fingers stroking along his sides. "Can I do anything to help Pouty Alfie?"
"Like what?"
"Well, I could start with nuzzling," illustrated by turning his head in, nose touching his boyfriend's jaw, "sweet words with a few snuck-in kisses. The kisses turning into a full make-out session." He grinned, kissing the skin under his lips. "And you and I both know what making out usually leads to."
A very faint smile touched upon the pouting lips, arms tightening about the man's neck as he lifted his face. "You can help, if we skip right to the making out part."
"Deal."
[insert sex scene here]
The television had been left on, Alfred could hear it from the bedroom, but his eyes were closed, concentrating on a different sound. His cheek was pressed to a strong chest, fingers playing over the olive toned skin, listening the the methodic thump under his ear, feeling his chest rise and gently fall with every breath.
"You don't have any chest hair," he hummed out of the blue, and he smiled when he felt the rumbling vibrations of the man's response.
"You've said this before."
"Because you don't. You have whiskers on your chin, but no hair on your chest."
"Do you have some sort of secret fetish for hairy chests, Alfred?"
"No, but you're old. Don't old guys have hair everywhere?"
Sadiq laughed, even with Alfred laying on his chest, arms wrapping about him some more, "do I look like I have hair everywhere? I'm not that old."
"Yeah you are," Alfred grinned, scooting up some to tuck his head under the man's chin. "Aren't you, like, in your sixties?"
"Wha-?" Sadiq's brows drew in, and he gave the blond's bum a very firm smack, making him jump and yelp, but holding him down. "I'm in my early forties, you mouthy punk!"
"Ahahow-ow, but you're already getting grey hairs," Alfred couldn't stop taunting him, scooting more on top of him as he leaned up.
"Yeah, and I get a new one every time you have to go to work with a gun in your holster," he brushed bangs back from those lovely blue eyes looking at him, pulling his face down to his own.
"That's every day."
"Exactly," Sadiq growled a bit against the blond's grinning mouth, but he kissed him firmly. Alfred relaxed down against his boyfriend, humming into it. God he loved days off.
Yet, ..he couldn't get the dark clouds out of his brain.
"Baby," he murmured when they broke for a second, and kissing him again. "What are you gonna do when you get your work visa?"
White teeth were flashed when Sadiq grinned, rubbing a hand up the man's back and into his hair. "Darling, I know you love it when I bone your brains out, but I never thought you'd actually forget anything. You asked me this question already."
"Hn," Alfred sighed with a small smile. "The expression is actually 'fuck' my brains out, but what you said made sense, too."
"Ah, I'll try to remember that."
"You'll remember," he kissed him softly. "You always remember."
"You seem to forget."
"I didn't forget, just wanna know the truth," Alfred nuzzled in, kissing him more and trailing those kisses to his cheek and up to his forehead.
"I've told you the truth," Sadiq closed his eyes, feeling soft little kisses pressed to the back of his lids, and to his nose. "Now please, Alfie, won't you tell me what's wrong?" His voice was soft but held such a tone of concern that Alfred couldn't bring himself to evade the issue any longer.
"On Friday, you have an appointment with my supervisor. He has your request for a work visa on hold until he can interview you. He's already checked your back records from Turkey, but he wants to make sure that you're not a threat to the FBI, or the United States" Alfred couldn't meet the other's eyes as he spoke. But he did see the light frown that marred his face.
"Do all immigrants get interviewed by the FBI?"
"No, but seeing as you're my boyfriend and you came all the way to this country just to live with me, they want to make sure there's nothing more to you than that."
"...They want to make sure that I'm not a spy."
Alfred sighed but nodded, finally meeting that golden gaze. The light frown stayed there a moment, tan fingers brushing over his cheek into his hair. "...Is that why you keep asking me what I'm going to do? Do you think I'm a spy as well?"
"No," Alfred said immediately, shaking his head. "I know you're not a spy. Brilliant architect, yes. Pervert? Absolutely. But a spy? No." He smiled at the smile he got. "Never a spy, you're too transparent."
"Ouch," Sadiq chuckled. "Well, if you're so reassured of me, why are you so worried?"
Alfred's smile paused, dropping a bit at the corners of his lips. Blue eyes swiveled away again, off to the side as he slowly leaned up. "You're also...going to be asked about me. They're going to ask you how you feel about me, to make sure you're not just dating me to get a work visa or citizenship."
The next words Sadiq said were chose carefully, "Alfred, are you worried about what I'm going to say?"
"I'm not worried about what you're going to say," the blond's brows furrowed gently in sadness. "...But I'm worried about the truth.."
"Alfred," Sadiq felt his heart break a little with just the way his boyfriend said that, and he shifted to sit up. "You're the only reason I'm here, you think I would ever do that to you?"
Pained blue eyes finally met his own again, a sort of almost pout on his lips. "It wouldn't be the first time..."
Sadiq shook his head a little, brows furrowing, "what do you mean?" His boyfriend slowly slouched, shoulders dropping. After a moment, he shifted off the brunet's lap. But Sadiq watched his face, sitting up completely himself. When the silence stretched on too long for his nerves to take, he gently touched his back. "Alfred?"
Alfred sighed, giving a bit of a shrug, "his name was Ivan." His voice was soft so he cleared his throat. "Three years ago, Moscow. We'd followed some members of the Russian Mafia back there, and we were working in cooperation with Russian authorities. Ivan was one of their informants, a snitch. After...after the whole operation went down, we kind of, I dunno." He shrugged again. "Started dating? He wanted to come back here with me, so he did. I...helped him get a work visa, much quicker than normal, he really wanted to start working."
It was easy to tell Alfred's voice was starting to shut down, and he cleared his throat again. Sadiq's frown was still there, but he was quiet as he listened. Yet it seemed the blond was having a hard time saying the next part.
"...He...Then he disappeared."
Sadiq waited a moment, but that seemed to be the end of it. "He disappeared? What do you mean-?"
"He took off," Alfred looked at him then, eyes glossy but resisting tears. "He said he wanted to be with me, forever. But he got that visa, and he was just gone." The blond shook his head, frown deepening. "He used me. To escape from the mafia."
His heart cracked a little bit more because Sadiq could see how even just the memory seemed to pain his lover so. It also made an anger swell up in his chest just knowing someone had used his Alfred like that. But he understood how it could plant a seed of doubt in the blond's heart for him.
"Alfred," he turned more towards the man, gently taking his chin to turn his face. Alfred perked his brows when a warm, simple kiss was pressed to his forehead, frown softening a little. Their foreheads rested together then, the other man giving a soft sigh. "I'm getting old." He started, and Alfred was clearly not expecting that kind of response. "It's not really something I can deny. I've had the same career for twenty years, not married, no kids. I would date when I was younger, but I hadn't done that in a couple years...until I met you."
Sadiq slid his hands up his boyfriend's arms, rubbing over his shoulders to his neck, "yanno, the first time we met...was the day I quit my job." Alfred's brows perked, confused, and Sadiq just smiled. "I had just stepped down as lead architect, a decision that took me a long time to make. But I just couldn't do it anymore. My newest designs were terrible, I was losing my edge, and I didn't want to embarrass myself. I loved my job but I'd just...lost my fire for it." But he grinned softly as he pet his neck, touching their noses together. "And then I met you. You remember our third date?"
"That wasn't a date," but Alfred couldn't help his small smile at the mention of it.
"You nailed me right in the jaw. Damn good right hook, too," Sadiq said rather fondly.
"You were being lecherous. Even in broken English, you were being lecherous."
"Couldn't help it," he hummed. "And by the end of the day, you'd already stolen my heart."
"You stalked me," Alfred said with a bit of a tone. "You followed me around all day telling me I was beautiful, and I pushed you into a water fountain because you were compromising my investigation."
"And I knew the moment I hit the water that I'd lost my heart to you," Sadiq kissed the man softly, and he felt him relax under the touch. "What I'm trying to say, Alfred, is that after I met you...I felt fire for my career again, for my life again. I couldn't get you out of my head, you made me feel like a completely different person. And I did crazy things to try and get you to talk to me, go on a date with me." His arms slid down to wrap about the blond's lithe body, holding him closer on the bed. "One of the few good things that come with age, is that you can look at your life and decide what's truly important to you. I've had a long, wonderful career. I have a great family, and even greater friends. But the one thing I was always missing was love, Alfred. "
Their eyes met again when Sadiq leaned back just a little, smile so very soft, "I was missing you. And there's nothing in America I want, but you."
A fair blush covered Alfred's cheeks, and his heart was thumping around happily in his chest and throat, dissolving that dark cloud that had been plaguing him so. He was smiling when their lips met, earning a light chuckle from the brunet. Sadiq eagerly kissed him back harder, leaning Alfred back onto the bed again.
Tingles danced through his tummy, and Alfred pulled his still naked boyfriend down onto him more, arms sliding over his shoulders, fingers sifting into short hair. When his boyfriend pulled back, even just a little, he made a small sound of protest. But Sadiq gave him a sweet peck and a smile.
"Alfie, I love y-"
"No."
"No?" he raised a brow, but the blond just kissed him again.
"Say it in Turkish. I know you understand the words in English, but I know the words mean more to you in your own tongue," he murmured against a mouth that slowly smiled.
Sadiq tightened his arms just a bit, pressing a warm, lingering kiss to his lover's lips, "Sen çok sevimlisin, ben seni severim."
A/N: I used an online translator for the Turkish, so if it's wrong or weird forgive me. But if I'm right it says "you're so cute, I love you." and oh yeah, don't you guys just LOVE my sex scenes!! ahurrhurr XD I was going to write it, but then I just kinda didn't. That is entirely how it happened. I regret nothing.
