Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
(You know, I’ve always been a fan of Pokémon, and for all of you who believe Ash {I don’t like the Japanese names, so tough cookies} has tried to have relationships with May or Dawn, then you seriously need to let me know who your drug dealer is, because that must be some really good shit {I don’t do drugs, that was a joke, get over it.} Let’s face it, the only reason you watched the anime was for Misty, she was the cute little red head who had the hots for the main character. So, this story is going to be a lot of fluff, only one sex scene, and is mostly just me being a fan boy who is reverting back to 12, because this couple has been personal favorite of mine for years. So, enjoy the show!)
(Also, if you're wondering why this looks familiar, it's because I'm reposting it to represent the current generation and to fix errors w/o having to deal with the new editing process, sorry for the confusion)

A Joyous and Tearful Reunion
“Starmie, finish it with an ice beam,” Misty sighed as her Pokémon blew away her opponents Electabuzz with one powerful move. She brushed a hand through her bright red hair and sighed again as her challenger returned his Pokémon back off of the Cerulean Gym’s floor.
“Train hard for two weeks and come back to challenge me again, ok?” she asked as she turned around to check on her oldest ally, the Starfish known as Starmie. As the kid stormed off, she thanked her Pokémon and returned it to its ball, then walked off, mournfully looking down and thinking about her life. Her sisters were looking at her funny, but the only one who decided to talk was Lily, her pink haired sister.
“Hey runt,” she said, and all she got in response was a glare, “you know, you can stop staring at me like that.”
“Funny,” Misty, the youngest of all four sisters, said with a very annoyed tone in her voice, “if I’m such a runt, how come I’m the one running the Gym?” although normally her sister’s would laugh at what she said and pick on her more, this time however she looked incredibly serious about what she said.
Lily sighed and patted her sister’s shoulder and asked what was wrong, “I miss him,” was all Misty could respond with. “That kid from Pallet Town with the Pikachu?” Lily asked, only to get a nod from her little sister. “Isn’t he in Unova right now?”
Misty shook her head, "no, he's coming home. Probably for no longer then a week or two," was all she could say before kicking the ground.
The elder of the two sisters smiled and said, "you know, you could always go over to his town and see him. I'm fairly certian we can handle things here for a day or two so you can have some.... time with him." Lily blushed and got all giggly when she said that.
Misty groaned at the thought of them running the Gym, the last time they did, the only pokemon that wasn't severely injured was Seel, and instead did synchronized swimming acts. In other words, they sucked horribly at being Gym Leaders.
"Look, we can take care of it, at least you'll be able to see your man again, right?" Asked Lily, and Misty nodded, praying that the water gym wouldn't catch on fire for the next few days.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Misty decided to call two people before she left, one was Professor Oak. She needed to make sure Ash wasn't going to go anywhere for the next week or so, and if the Pokemon Researcher got his hands on Ash, she would never be able to get that chance
"Hello, Professor Oak's Pokemon Research Facility," said a more then happy Tracey. For a split second, the only thing that went through Misty's mind was Tracey's Scyther, a bug type pokemon, which sent a major chill up her spine.
"H-hi Tracey, I'd like to speak to Professor Oak," she said nervously, even after all this time, she was really bad with Bug types.
"Oh, alright Misty, not a problem," he again said very happily, she waited for a minute, in which she saw Ash's Kingler running around with a tray and a tea set, which was surprisingly well balanced in the very unbalanced crab's claws. She waited for a bit longer, hearing an explosion in the background and seeing a heard of water Pokemon running outside, Professor Oak sat at the video phone.
"Why hello Misty, what would you like to talk about?" Professor Oak said, a warm smile coming from the elder man.
"Ok, all I want is for you not to send Ash out for a week. I don't care if there's a new land with new Pokemon somewhere in the world, if you just found Arceus in your back yard or even if his Taruos break free and level half of Pallet, I just want to spend some time with him," she paused, thinking of how to word it without expressing her feelings.
"Because I haven't seen him in almost three years, and I'd like to catch up with him before he leaves." Professor Oak may have been a daft old man, but could tell that Ash and Misty were very close, it reminded of him of himself and the eldest of Kanto's Elite Four.
"I understand completely, he could use a break to 'catch up' with you," the old man grinned, and she blushed, thinking that he knew what was going on.
"Thank you professor, have a good day," she said calmly, hanging up and sighed with relief, then she called the second person.

Delia heard the phone ring and went to answer it, she thought it was strange that someone was calling her since her son Ash was home from the Unova League. She was also hoping it wasn't Professer Oak, as she wanted to see her son for at least a little while longer before he went back on his journey.
"Hello, Ketchem residence," Delia said, and she saw Misty on the screen, "oh, hello Misty."
"Hi Mrs. Ketchem, is Ash back from his trip?" Misty asked calmly, Delia knew that Misty really cared about Ash, they've talked quite a lot since Ash left for Hoenn. Delia knew this, Misty loved her son, and was somewhat upset about Ash traveling with other girls from the regions.
"Yes Misty he is, why do you ask?" she said, figuring that she wanted to spend time with him.
Misty sighed a bit and said, "Well, can you keep him there for a while, I want to come over and see him." Delia smiled and nodded, she figured it would be a good experience for Ash and her to 'Ketchup.' "Great, thank you," Misty said as she hung up, and Delia went to her kitchen, with a big grin plastered on her face.

(Note: If you have read any of my Naruto Fanfics, you know that I don't really use puns during the story. If the ketchup pun offended you, I am terribly sorry, I must learn more from Team Rocket, Jessie and James seem to be masters of puns that actually work. Now, back to the story, 100% pun free.)

Misty loved the fact that they made a train system for Kanto and Jhoto, it made it easier to get from town to town without having to surf or go around the mountain. By train, it took only four hours to get from Cerulean City to Pallet Town, only because the train ran in a straight line from Saffron City to Goldenrod City, so she had to walk to the nearest train station, then again from Viridion City to her destination. She got to the house and started shaking, it was nerve wracking since it's been a couple of years since Misty went back to her home to be a Gym leader.
The eighteen year old sighed *screw it, I'm just gonna go in and everything will be normal,* she thought, and with that, she knocked on the door. Her heart was beating fast, she could tell she was sweating, and she was starting to pant from how nervous she was. Regardless of weather she was ready or not, the door opened, and Delia's very cheerful Mr. Mime nearly threw his broom down just to give her a hug. Of course he didn't and the broom hit Misty in the face, but she didn't mind, she always loved coming here to see Ash's mom, but that was not what she wanted to do today. She walked in and Mr. Mime closed the door, as soon as the door clicked, a Yellowish-white blur ran straight for Misty.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ash ran after his Pokemon through the house, normally Pikachu didn't run off anywhere unless something was in trouble, or someone it knew was around. He ran towards the front door, hoping he didn't have to fight of Team Rocket or help Professor Oak round up his Tauros again.
When he got into the front room he stopped, seeing that beautiful red head kissing the top of his Pikachu's head, "Awww, I missed you too," Misty said, softly hugging the cute mouse. Pikachu always believed he was the main reason Ash and Misty got along after a while, they used to argue a lot over really dumb things, but seemed to get over it when Pikachu got involved. Misty was the only other trainer Pikachu would listen to, to the electric mouse, Misty was just as much of a friend and it's trainer as Ash was.
Ash couldn't fathom the beauty of the girl in front of him, her hair was no longer in a tail on the side of her head, it was down and around her head. She also had worn more adult clothing, showing that she looked more like a Gym Leader then a tomboy. She didn't look like the teenage girl that had followed him around on his journey, she looked like a woman, a beautiful woman.
"Pikachu, I need you to go play somewhere for a little while, I need to speak to Ash alone," Misty said with a bit of a grim look on her face. Pikachu looked worried, but understood, and ran off towards the living room, and Misty grabbed Ash's hand and walked towards his room, so they could talk in private.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They walked into the room and Misty hadn't said a word, she was turned away from Ash, and he was hoping she wasn't angry at him. If she was, then why was she? he had just got home from Unova, it's not like he went to Cerulean and turned her gym into a hockey rink, but if she was going to be angry at him for no reason, he was considering it.
"So, have you been hanging out with other girls?" she asked, and Ash looked a her confused. Ash of course said yes, and then she asked, "were any of them your girlfriends?"
Ash thought about it, the only one who ever came close was May, but he didn't feel like he wanted to go out with her. Even though she was an overly developing young woman and he was starting to hit puberty, he still didn't want to be with her.
He thought more about it and said, "no, but one girl did come close. I think she wanted to kiss me, and she was pretty beautiful."
Misty turned around and smacked him hard across the face, so much so that his was forcibly turned to the side. He was going to say something back, he was going to yell at her, he had enough of getting intentionally hit by people and Pokemon a long time ago and he was going to let her have it. He was going to unleash his fury, but when he turned so he could look at her, she was looking down, and worse, she was in tears.
"Misty, why did you hit me?" he said, quite concerned, it wasn't like Misty to cry, ever. In fact, the last time he saw her cry was years ago when they went to the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town, after he had gotten back up after a chandelier had fallen on Pikachu and him. She looked up at him and had the same look on her eyes she did that day, it was fear, fear of loosing him. Ash knew, even though it took a lot to get it into his head, he got it easily when she looked at him like that. He calmly walked over and hugged her, running a hand through her soft red locks. She cried harder and buried her head into his chest, she couldn't help it, she couldn't help feeling so weak and fragile at that moment.
He rubbed her cheek softly, and they looked into each others eyes. She made the first move out of nervousness, innocently kissing him on the lips. Ash was shocked, he had never kissed a girl, and Misty wasn't exactly on the top of his list of 'girls he would want to be with.'
*Then again, I've known her since I've become a trainer,* he thought, *and she is really sweet.* The kiss broke, and Misty backed off, both of them stood there with beet red faces. The silence was awkward, and neither of them were making eye contact. Misty was trying to think of how to express her love, Ash was thinking of weather or not he wanted to be in a relationship with her.
Misty opened her mouth, only to close it without a sound, thinking to herself *why is this so hard?*
Ash thought about all of the yelling they did and about that stupid bike he stole to try to get Pikachu to the Pokemon Center his first day. He had to think about that, it was most of their relationship for the first year or two. Of course, this wasn't all he was thinking about, he was also thinking about all the cute things she has worn, like kimonos and that one outfit that made her look like a Goldeen. He though of all the times she told him not to do something in case he got hurt, and even that day she was holding him, crying over his body thinking that he had died.
Both of their thoughts seemed to make them want to say it more, but neither of them were going to. Ash moved closer to her, placing his hands on her slender shoulders. They looked into each others eyes, blushing like mad, their eyes were saying it for them, but every time they opened their mouths, a soundless air would come out. It took a while, and someone had to say it, they both opened their mouths, one was going to say those three little words.
"I love you," they whispered, slowly pulling each other closer so they could kiss again. Ash brushed a hand through her hair, and Misty started to get weak in the knees. He picked her up and moved them both over to the bed, so they could snuggle in each other's arms for the rest of the day.

(Stopping here so I can save myself for the next chapter, as it has already taken me a while to figure out where I would be going with this. Note: heavy critics who just want the story to be their way can go fuck themselves, then make their own story, why do I say it like this, because it's the only way some people learn.)
(For those of you who have already read this chapter and noticed a few differences from before, congratulations, you're paying attention.)
