Spider

Matthew sat on the couch watching TV and Kuma walked in the room. "Who are you?"

 

 Matthew replied without even thinking, "I'm Canada." the bear then dropped something on his owners lap and Matthew patted his head before looking down. It was a small Granddaddy long leg. Matthew smiled. "Kuma… don't you know its bad luck to kill a long leg? His spirit will make it rain out." The bear just looked at the Canadian as if he wher stupid. 

 

 "who are you?" the bear asked again and Matthew sighed, and did not reply. 

Mean while the Spider had crawled away.  And found a cozy hole in the wall where he could let his leg heal, and plot against the evil polar bear cub.

 

 About an hour latter Matthew had started thinking about the spider, it reminded him of being little. He was so scared of bugs back then…

 

 Little Canada was playing in Mr. England's  Garden. He tripped and fell forewords. "Ahhhhhhhh!" he screamed when a little tiny eight legged monster had crawled on to his hand. Alfred came running and Matthew shook the spider off his hand. And ran behind his brother. "Hewp!"

 "Ofcuws! Alfred spoke in his cute little slur "I'm guna be a Hewro some day aftwer all!" he exclaimed happily. 

 

 The spider moved toured them and Matthew hid his face behind his brothers back and gripped the back of his brothers shirt. "save meh!" he cried. Alfred spread his tiny feet and held his arms out to try and protect his brother. His knees shook a bit and he gulped.

 Kuma watched from the side tilting his head one way then the other. After a few moments he walked away slowly. 

 

 "Gow away Spidwer!" Alfred demanded, the spider did not listen and only moved closer.

Kuma found Mr. England reading the paper on a bench in his garden. "trouble." the bear spoke and grabbed the man's pant leg.

 

 "where is the trouble you agitation." Arthur let the bear lead him to the boys.

Matthew was crying and Alfred asked. "pweas go away Mr. Spwidwer?"

 

 England chuckled as he walked over. He bent down and grabbed the spider, "Hello little Grub killing fly eating friend." He put the spider on a near buy try and went back to the boys. 

 

 "Bwother.' Matthew raised his voice a bit as he ran over and hugged Arthur tightly and Alfred fell on his but and started crying. "Awfwed?" Canada said as he let go of England and walked over to America. "Bwother?" Alfred looked right up at his little brother. "you saved meh!"

 "I did?" the boys eyes got big.

 

 Matthew kissed Alfred's cheek "oui, you're my hewo!  You kept meh safe tell Bwother England came and maid the spidewr leave." 

 

 Arthur hugged them both close and chuckled. "good job Alfred." 

 

 Matthew's thoughts of child hood where interrupted buy his present day brother. 'MATTY!" he plopped down on the couch next to his brother and hugged with one arm pulling him right up against him, "so how are you bro?"

 Matthew went to talk and kuma jumped on their laps again and dropped the spider in Alfred's lap this time. Alfred froze and looked at the twitching little spider. "Who are you?' kuma directed at Canada.

 

 "kuma…" Matthew picked up the spider when he realized Alfred was scared. "Al?" after  a few moments of no reply, Matthew smiled and walked to the kitchen, he put the spider just out side the kitchen window and walked back in the living room. "its gone al…" Canada chuckled and walked over and sat down next to his now cherry red faced brother.

 

 "Thanks Matty…" Alfred kissed his brothers cheek. "spiders freak me out…  all those legs and stuff.. you know…" 

 

 Matthew chuckled. "no problem. Its my pleasure to be my hewows, Hero."  Knowing Alfred would never figure out what he meant he got back up and walked back to the kitchen. "want some pancakes?"

 "Sure Matty.' Alfred said keeping it a secret that he knew exactly what his brother was talking about. He just did not want to admit it. 

 He jumped up off the couch and went to the kitchen. "Matty.." he said softly as he rapped his arms around his brothers waist. "Thank you." 

 Matthew blushed softly and smiled big. "No problem Alfred." to that he received a kiss on his cheek. Matthew turned his head a bit and Alfred kissed his lips this time. "I love my hero."

Alfred blushed a bit to this time. "And he loves you to."
