Prologue: Luffy
You are twenty-one when it happens. When you look intot he face of a young man—a boy, really—and know that you will be spending the rest of your life with him. It is astonishing and confusing, but strong adn true all the same.
He fights for you, defending the town you've lived in for the last week or so, but simultaneously, bluntly tells you that it isn't your home. How he knows this, you aren't sure, but there is confidence in his words and smile, and you find yourself more than willing to follow his lead.
His name is Monkey D. Luffy. You meet him at lunch, and by the time dinner in served in the houses on the island you have left behind, you are officially the third Straw Hat Pirate.
