A/N: I found this on my desktop titled Pilot.odt. I write strange things when I drink. This isn't edited, so don't expect anything not terrible, but there's a few gems. If there's any interest, maybe I'll continue it.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sarae endured four years waiting for this day to come, and now that she waited for her name to blare across the crowded auditorium, she couldn't wait for it to end. Four years, but in a few hours she'd have her trainer card and first pokemon. This place would be nothing more than fuel for a future drinking problem.
"Sarae," the headmaster's amplified voice boomed. No one cheered, no whistles.
It didn't matter. She could take one more day. This was worth it in the end. Sarae pretended to smile, shook hands, thanked Mr. Endeson. A farce. She scraped by their classes, not because she was dumb, but because higher grades wouldn't change anything.
Average, forgettable, or she wished she were forgettable. Instead her degenerate father made her last name well known before getting himself sent to prison for his research. Sarae took her seat to wait for the rest of her classmates to walk, just as she had.
"Congratulations graduates of the Floaroma Town Pokemon Academy! With the commencement of this ceremony, each one of you will be a licensed pokemon trainer. Your true challenges are just beginning, but I'm proud to say I believe in each and every one of you."
Sarae ignored the rest of the speech, only paying attention once students started rising to receive their pokemon. For such a small class – 112 graduating – nine were given the honor of choosing a true starter pokemon. Even if she'd applied herself in her classes, she never would have made top nine. She did envy them though, Jeff, the salutatorian, picking Piplup to Ivan's Chimchar. You could always tell who the top ranked students were by their pokemon.
By the time Sarae reached the table, only about half the pokemon remained, many of the stronger species already gone. Everyone wanted every edge they could get, not that it mattered much in the long run. She looked over her choices.
Shinx, Abra and Misdreavus remained of the pokemon that caught her eye. Only two Abra remained. A good pokemon, but the strange little things always made her feel uncomfortable, those eyes.
“First she has her fees paid by The League, now she stands around holding up the rest of us from getting our pokemon.”
“Her father probably had to blow the headmaster just so she could graduate.”
“Blew the headmaster's pokemon, more likely.”
Sarae grit her teeth at the mocking laughter and snatched a Shinx from the table. Soon she wouldn't have to put up with this shit anymore. She could go by whatever name she wanted. Her father's legacy couldn't follow her around forever.
The pokeball had a good weight in her hands, and she continued on to the next table where her ID card and pokemon were both recorded as hers. “Congratulations,” the man said, smiling and holding out her items.
“Thanks,” Sarae mumbled.
“Cheer up, you have big things ahead of you!”
Sarae gave a non-committal acknowledgment and head for the exit. She stepped outside into the blazing sun. Afternoon already, what a waste of time. The rest of her belongings lay already packed in her dorm. If she hurried, she could still leave before noon. Maybe. No one came to see her off, so at least she didn't have to wait on anyone else.
“Yo, Alex. We're battling, c'mon. Lets see what you picked.”
“It can wait a few minutes. This place is crowded enough without even more battles.”
“Can't perform for a crowd?”
Sarae tried to block out the celebratory noise around her. Maybe this Shinx would make for tolerable company, but no one here would. The dorms, not that many people lived in them, were completely empty. Most lived in town, and the rest enjoyed their graduation. Sarae unlocked her door. Half of the room looked vacant – her half. Maria's shit still covered the other half. Doesn't matter.
The bad she packed last night would get her to the next town at least, if not further. No stopping, no hangups, nothing until she couldn't see a spec of this town on the horizon. For the first time in what felt like four years, she genuinely smiled. “I don't have to deal with your shit anymore.”
A quick stop to drop off her key at the office, and she left. A weight seemed to lift, every item she possessed slung across her back, and a pokemon of her own to protect herself. She didn't answer to anyone – well besides the league. Not even Sarae would fuck things up that badly.
Oreburgh lay to the south, but with only a Shinx, she had no chance of defeating the gym there. Eterna gym wouldn't pan out much better, but rushing through the circuit wouldn't get her anywhere, and she'd always wanted to see the city. Maybe she'd fill out her team a bit on the way, and could take it easy getting to Oreburgh. Her steps felt light with the thoughts of finally proving herself not miserable at something. She would not ridicule herself on her own merits.
Route 205 was more of a general guide rather than a true road. Sparse trees broke up any semblance of a straight path, and no single trail seemed more worn than all of the others. Sarae like that. One could easily get lost on the way to their destination, not meeting a single other person, but still eventually arrived where they wanted.
Now for the second thing she'd waited for. Shinx's pokeball, a heavy red and white sphere rolled in the palm of her hand. The large white button called to her, the only thing keeping what could be her first true friend from her side.
She'd seen pokemon released hundreds of time, but that red flash seemed more vibrant than any she'd seen before. An adorable little pokemon materialized from the beam, thick, plushy fur making its head look just a little too large for its body.
Shinx looked about before walking up to Sarae and sniffing at the hem of her dark green skirt, walking around and sizing her up. He then sat down on black hind-paws and looked up expectantly.
“Hey there little guy.” Sarae lowered herself to eye-level and reached out to pat her Shinx on the head. A bolt of electricity struck her hand with a loud pop, numbing her finger and causing her to leap back. “That wasn't very nice,” she muttered, shaking her hand to try and restore feeling. Large golden eyes regarded her.
“Don't be like that, we're partners now. You and me.” She made as if to pet him again, but Shinx let out a low growl. “Do you want something? Are you hungry?” Her pokemon turned up its nose and started in the direction she'd been walking. “I-” bur she let the words die on her tongue. You've got to be fucking kidding me.
It didn't matter. Maybe he just wanted to show he could lead or something. Pokemon always took some time to get used to a new trainer. Of course she would get a stubborn one. She let Shinx lead for the time being, maybe giving him some freedom would help him loosen up a bit. Not like she had somewhere to be.
The two of them meandered into some of the less traveled paths. Thick creepers covered the ground, and the trees clustered closer together. Nothing unmanageable though, and she didn't even know if Shinx would stop if she asked. Recalling her only companion seemed a poor precedent for her journey, and in the thick vegetation, she might need him to battle at a moment's notice.
And somehow this still beat her time at the academy. She didn't see any other people though, and that alone made up for things. Soon she'd be far from where people knew the daughter of Professor Dule, as they were calling him now.
A noise caught her attention. “Shinx, you hear that?” Her pokemon didn't look concerned though. A few hesitant steps revealed a wide stream, almost a river, rushing across a large patch of stones. “At least one of us knows what's going on.” She sighed but stepped to the edge of the rushing water.
“Want something to eat?” Sarae dropped her pack to the ground and began to rummage through it, while Shinx drank from the cool waters.
A blast of frigid water crashed into her back, throwing her to the ground. She gasped, icy water soaking her gray shirt and running down the small of her back. “What the-”
“Buizel! Zel!”
Sarae scrambled backwards, turning to face her attacker. A very angry Buizel advanced on her. How the fuck did all these cute pokemon look so god damn intimidating? “Uh, Shinx? Help?” She spared a quick glance to her pokemon who just sat there and fucking watched. Her attacker lunged, closing the gap in a single jump and bringing both of them to the ground.
Sarae Shrieked. “Shinx!” Claws dug into her, tearing skin just as easily as fabric. She closed her eyes and flailed wildly, her blows doing little to repel the creature. “Shinx!”
A force like a kick to the chest shocked her body, stunning her, and apparently Buizel as well. The water type staggered off her. Another bright flash struck Buizel, and the pokemon crumpled to the ground with a weak cry.
Sarae scrambled to her pack and ripped a pokeball out of it, flinging it at the fallen pokemon before it had the chance to recover. The device shook three times and clicked shut, signifying a capture. Freezing, covered in mud and bleeding, Sarae laughed. “I captured my first pokemon.” She sat staring at the pokeball. Shinx growled.
“Oh, and thanks for protecting me.” She breathed heavily. “But maybe step in a bit sooner next time?” Blood warmed small patches in her drenched shirt. She didn't think her body had time to register the pain yet, and despite her shaking hands, her wounds didn't hurt.
A low growl rumbled in Shinx's throat, his tail slashing the air behind him. He turned away from her and walked along the riverside, away from her.
“Shinx wait, I'm sorry. I do appreciate your help.” Her pokemon stopped only long enough to snort in derision. Why did he act like this? She couldn't think of anything she did to upset him. “I can give you a treat if you want, or-” She couldn't lose her first pokemon. Not only would that leave her alone out here with her only her newly captured, and incapacitated, pokemon for protection, but her first pokemon.
“Shinx, please wait!,” she called out, desperate. Why? She had to stop him from leaving. It hadn't really sunk in at the academy. Pokemon had always been cute, friendly creatures, friends. But the face that regarded her did not look friendly, not now. Fierce eyes bore into her, fur that looked soft and huggable crackled with electricity.
“I'm sorry, but I don't know what you want?” Her mind raced for something, but kept gravitating back towards the same terrible ideas. Shinx turned away from her once again. “Wait!”
Sarae sank to the ground, her wet skirt pressing uncomfortably against her. Not even the pleasant day made the water soaking her feel any less miserable. She could not let him leave. “Please. Come back.” Did her father start like this? She hated the man with every fiber of her being, and now look at her, about to try the very thing his damning paper suggested. She couldn't think of anything else.
Just this one time. Sarae lowered herself to the ground, lying on her back in a show of submission. Golden eyes watched her every movement. At least he stopped walking away from her. Her voice trembled. “Here. I really do appreciate what you did.” She beckoned him over with a quick wave.
Slowly, as if thinking leaving might be the better idea, Shinx padded towards her. His golden eyes locked on hers, and she had to fight the urge to look away. For such a small creature, he had a commanding presence. He stopped within arms reach, looking down at her and her dirty clothing.
Heat burned in her cheeks, and she hesitantly reached out towards her pokemon. The angle made it slightly awkward, her arm swinging out to touch his chest, hoping that he wouldn't shock her again.
Silky fur slid between her fingers, imparting a small charge that tingled her skin and made the hairs on her arm stand on end. Deep breath. It's just this once, just to keep Shinx with her. After this, she'd find a better way to train him. In one slow, deliberate motion, Sarae stroked down Shinx's narrow chest, over his belly until she felt the protrusion of his sheath.
Her throat tightened, heartbeat pounding in her ears. Oh god she really started this. Shinx rumbled but took a step closer, bringing more than just her fingertips against him. She squeezed her eyes shut for a second and swallowed.
Shinx's belly felt hot against her gently trembling fingers. She'd never touched a boy before, and definitely not a pokemon like this before. Shinx continued to edge closer until he stepped up onto her breast with a heavy paw. Then two, warm pads almost pleasant against her cool flesh. Of course her cheeks burned. Another low rumble grew in Shinx's throat.
Resigning herself, Sarae began to stroke, gently feeling her pokemon. Even her timid strokes caused him to grow, and she paused again once she finally felt him emerge from his furred sheath. Hot, slick flesh grazed her palm, leaving a tingling wet patch on her. One more firm stroke brought Shinx fully into her grasp.
She shouldn't be doing this. What if someone came, saw her, saw what she did? Soft, pliable barbs covered the tip of her pokemon's tapered shaft. She ran her fingers across them, and shamefully felt a surge of happiness at pleasing her pokemon. His paws shivered atop her breast.
“Should I continue?” Claws pierced her clothing and pricked her breast. Not enough to draw blood, just a reminder that they existed. Why? Though she could no longer blame Buizel for the entirety of her dampness. Pre leaked into her hand, and she increased her efforts.
She was jerking off her pokemon. The very thought should be enough to arrest her. Fuck. This was her father's fault. Him and his fucked up research, and yet, the stiff heat in her hand, the way Shinx quivered after each pass over his sensitive barbs. How would they feel inside her? The warmth, the dancing tingle of electricity, not painful but – she shivered.
Claws sank into her breast once again. She looked up to see Shinx's mouth open, tongue lolling out as his hips began to jerk against her rhythmic motions.
“Cum for me.” What the hell was she saying? But it seemed enough for Shinx. Two rough thrusts into her hand, and long ropes his seed shot all over her arm. Wherever the thick seed landed, her muscles vibrated. Her whole arm hummed with a pleasant sensation.
Tensions drained from Shinx, and he pulled away from her, though not to run this time. He curled up the ground a few feet away, looking the most peaceful she'd seen since first releasing him.
The hot fluid still on her arm drew her attention to what just happened. Oh, fuck me. No, I swear I don't know how it got there mister. And the worst part, a sliver of her enjoyed what she just did. The first male she'd done anything with, and he seemed to enjoy it. Now what? What did she do? If another Buizel jumped out of the river, but she didn't have any towels that she wanted smeared with...
“Oh my god. I've gone insane. Sarae, recent Academy graduate found insane after lost for two hours.” It was still on her arm! She rushed to the river and plunged her arm into the icy water, and scrubbed. Cleaning herself didn't take long, though mud still covered her clothing, and considering that stupid Buizel's attack. My stupid Buizel. She had to change anyway. If all of her clothing lasted as long as the first set, it would take years to get to Eterna. An eternity. She could throw herself in the river and no one would ever know.
