Disclaimer: I do not own the characters or world/fandom of the One Piece manga or anime. They belong to Oda-sensei. I'm just borrowing from his magnificence and I, of course, make no money from this. |
A/N: First things first, holy devil fruit guys, *spoilers* are everywhere in this. I'm really sorry and it's not intentional it's just that it's hard not to add what you know of the story into it when you're all caught up with the information, especially if you're trying to keep it the least bit cannon. Basically, I would say that if you haven't gotten to right before the timeskip, I would probably not read this. Since this is a series of somewhat-connected but not entirely chronologically ordered slice of life moments starring the Straw Hats and a few choice others, there is some leeway to skip around. I'll try to put the pairings, any warning I deem necessary for a particular chapter, and the point at which you should probably be caught up in the series. There are some that will be as early as Alabasta and at least one I've planned is as early as within the first few chapters/episodes. Some, however, will be as late as the Punk Hazard arc.
Secondly, I will be taking pairing requests eventually in a separate project. Feel free to email me at sanity_is_for_the_insane@yahoo.com at any time to request something in specific (smut or no smut) but know I might not get to it till I've gotten a little further in this fic.
Lastly, I'm very sorry to those who think this is unfair but I will not be writing any Brook smut. One, I feel he is not romantically/sexually linked with any other characters and two, for the simple fact that realistically written its necrophilia and even unrealistically written it's physically impossible (except for literal skull-fucking). Although, the premise of this story is that they're all pretty much swingers who have relationships with each other (because frankly, in my very personal opinion, I think they all have varying levels of attraction/feelings/compatability for/with each other and, therefore, in my mind it's cannon for them to all be in a polyamorous situation with each other and a few select others) Usopp will not be featured with any of the other Straw Hats because Usopp strikes me as pretty much the straightest member of the crew. And though he shows attraction to women's bodies throught out the show (including his female crew members), I don't feel that Nami or Robin are interested in him that way nor he to them. Plus, as I'm making this as cannon as possible and as cannon as I personally view it as, he and Kaya are pretty much a done deal. Franky and Chopper will be more featured than those two but due in part to the fact that I'm a bit squicky with the whole cyborg/sort-of beastiality thing and also because I feel Chopper is mostly uninterested in that sort of thing besides Robin and Franky doesn't strike me as really meshing romantically/sexually with anyone (besides Iceberg) they will still have smaller roles than the other straw hats. (Please note: these objections of mine may be overturned if people ask for specific request scenarios, see above.)
Sorry for the extra-long opener, I just wanted everyone to know what they were getting into. I'm always frustrated when I'm halfway through a fic before I realize it's not what I was expecting and I feel like I've wasted my time. So, without further ado, onwards towards adventure and smutty, sometimes romantic, moments of pirate awesomeness!!!!!
Days Gone By (AcexLuffy, after Marineford Arc, would-be incest, blowjob, elements of power play)
Luffy felt the ship rock violently when a huge wave smashed into its side. No one took notice of it. This was the grand line; mildly harsh weather was the least of their problems. Only Usopp, fishing while perched precariously on the edge of the ship, shouted out and wind-milled his arms to catch his balance.
Usopp, with one arm pressed against his panting chest, turned a vicious glare on Franky, who was at the wheel, “You bastard, what kind of great ship is this that it nearly capsizes with one measly wave?!”
With a soft metallic whir, Franky slowly turned his neck with a dark look on his face, “Ah? What was that?”
The sound of their shouting grew louder and louder but it seemed to become fuzzier and less distinct to Luffy. Just a grating kind of white noise. Normally, he would’ve been right there with Usopp, fishing and getting in needless arguments. Or laughing at Franky’s excessive use of ‘super’ and Usopp’s overreactions. But today, everything seemed a little far away. A little less important.
He didn’t know why but he felt irritated with all the things that usually brought him joy. Resentment festered under his skin. It felt as if it was leaking out of him like the steam from his Gear Second mode. And underneath the resentment a yawning sense of bleakness. Amidst his nakama, he felt worse than alone. He felt empty. There was something important missing and it colored his world in shades of grey.
Fed up with the growing excitement on the deck, he stood up and headed to the one place he knew would be nice and quiet with the one person he knew wouldn’t press him. The training area in the upper room was Zoro’s favorite place, when he was awake that was. Any place Zoro could sleep was Zoro’s favorite place. So everywhere. If he wasn’t sleeping on the sun-warmed grass, he was most likely lifting weights up here. Noise and tomfoolery was not encouraged here. Normally, that would keep Luffy away. But then nothing about today felt normal.
Luffy popped his head up over the ladder and rested his chin on the floor, gazing quietly at Zoro’s silhouette. He sat with his left side facing Luffy, cross legged and with the top of his green coat lying pooled around his waist. Sweat trickled down his neck, shoulders, arms, and torso. The muscles in his arms bulged and flexed under his skin with every curl of the huge weight. Luffy felt a tug down low the way he always did when he saw Zoro, especially when he was half-naked and covered in a sheen of sweat. More than that, though, he felt instantly better. There was no one else on earth who managed to comfort him by just sharing the same space with him. Except Ace.
But Ace wasn’t here anymore. There was a hole in him the size of the hole Akainu had punched into Ace.
Luffy swallowed down the lump of pain in his throat and tried not to think about that. Tried to only think about the man in front of him. He was real and touchable and alive.
When his gaze actually managed to focus and take in his surroundings again, he found that Zoro had laid the weight down in front of him and was simply sitting there gazing patiently at him. A lot of people found the swordsman to be intimidating. It was something about the intensity of his being, the fierceness in his eyes, and the raw animal energy barely contained in his body. They never seemed to be able to decipher when Zoro was waiting patiently or waiting impatiently. There wasn’t much of a difference. He had the same bland look on his face which made people think he was just waiting for them to shut up. Luffy could always tell by his neck. If Zoro was irritated the lines in his neck would become prominent, and the muscles would become tense and stay tense. He was the kind of person you had to really look at to understand, he didn’t give much away by facial expression or words.
Luffy crawled up the rest of the way and flopped onto his stomach with his head next to Zoro’s knee. If he didn’t break the silence neither would the swordsman. He wasn’t sure yet if he wanted to talk or not so he simply closed his eyes and inhaled the comforting presence of his friend. Before long, he heard the clink of metal as Zoro began doing his lifting again. Time passed slowly and gently for a while.
“789, 790, 791…”
Try as he might to forget the past, it crept up on him like a thief in the night. One minute he was basking in the relaxing sound of Zoro’s voice and the next a memory of a different boy counting rushed upon him.
“50 losses for Luffy, 23 losses for Ace, and 27 losses for me,” Sabo said with a slight tinge of bitterness. After all, Ace had beaten him again.
“Aw, man,” Luffy pulled his straw hat that dwarfed his miniature head down over his face with both hands, hiding his disappointment.
Ace wiped an arrogant finger back-and-forth under his nose and grinned widely, “Better luck next time.”
Luffy sprang up from the ground and thrust one fist toward the older boys, “You just wait! I’m gonna be stronger than both of you!”
Ace spared the younger boy a look of disgust, “Luffy, you’re hopeless. How do you expect to beat anyone when you knock yourself out more than your opponent does?”
Sabo stepped between the fighting boys, placing one hand on each of their chests, and tried to pry them away from one another. Most fights between Luffy and Ace that started with words would end up in an all-out brawl. He finally got a good hold on the younger boy and pulled him away with his arms circled around his middle. He laid one hand on Luffy’s head and patted it once, twice.
Through Luffy’s eyes the smile Sabo shot him was nothing short of angelic, “Now, now, Luffy. You’ve improved a lot! I’m sure you’ll keep getting stronger.”
That was Sabo for you, the perpetual pacifier. Sometimes, Luffy wondered if Ace and his relationship would have lasted so long without the blond boy’s constant intervention and peacemaking. Luffy had always feared somewhere deep in his heart, that Sabo was the glue that held them all together. That without him they would just fall apart, fall away from each other. Much to his chagrin, he’d learned that even without Sabo, he and Ace could still be close.
An ugly thought had surfaced more than once that he’d had to banish from his mind again and again. Maybe if Sabo had simply stayed in Goa Kingdom with his parents or simply just left on the adventure he’d planned, maybe they really would have grown apart. Luffy wondered if it was the brutal death and loss of Sabo that had cemented Ace’s feelings for Luffy and Luffy’s for Ace. They were the last of the brothers. They had to take care of each other. It was what Sabo had wanted. Maybe that was the only reason they had to care for one another.
Luffy sat up abruptly and smacked his hands to each side of his face. The sting helped clear his mind. They’d both call him an idiot if they could hear his thoughts. It was what it was. He cared for Ace deeply and no matter how it had begun, that feeling was still true and would never go away.
Zoro had paused what he was doing and eyed Luffy with a mixture of disbelief and bewilderment. When the rubber boy made no move to explain his behavior, he shrugged and went back to what he was doing. He’d seen weirder. Much, much weirder. He was sort of immune to all manner of strangeness. Being friends with Luffy you learned the art of going with the flow. It was a sink or swim kind of deal. Most things with Luffy were. Either you adjusted or you’d get left behind. That’s what had drawn him to the boy all those years ago. Well, that and his seemingly groundless self-confidence in his impossible dream.
You had to be a survivor to be in Luffy’s crew. The idea appealed greatly to him. A shark’s smile crept its way up his face. Too much teeth and too much malice. There was something so thrilling about pitting yourself against the odds. Being with Luffy gave him that chance more than just being on his own would’ve done. His captain had an uncanny ability to find where the most trouble was and fit himself into the very middle of it. Zoro knew that if he stuck close by Luffy, he would get his fair share of the action. The opportunity to challenge himself and break past his own limits was intoxicating. Being with Luffy was intoxicating.
He glanced out of the corner of his eye at the younger man. He was acting strange, even for Luffy. Where was the hyperactivity? The loud brashness? The mischievous smile and contagious laugh? There was a lethargic look to his limbs and a distant cast to his eyes. Zoro didn’t like it. Luffy wasn’t supposed to be anything but what he was. It unnerved the man to see him this way. As much as Luffy’s, like most of the rest of the crew’s, noisy dispositions sometimes got on his nerves, he’d rather see that than this husk of a human being. His lips drooped. Something wasn’t right.
Zoro sighed and continued on with his training. He wasn’t one to pry. Luffy would tell him if he wanted to. If not, so be it. Hopefully, he would snap out of it soon.
Luffy vividly remembered the last time he and Ace had been together. They couldn’t when he’d met him again on Alabasta, what with his crew being there twenty-four seven and their lives on the line most of the time. It was inconvenient and not really the first or even second thing on their minds. Moreover, he wasn’t sure how his crewmates would react. For the most part, they didn’t much care who any of them chose to be with but somehow he doubted that they would all be accepting of the fact that he fucked his would-be brother on a regular basis. Or, at least, he used to.
It had been three years before that, in the fort they’d made in the forests on Mt. Corvo. Ace was preparing for his departure out to sea. Luffy was in the middle of trying to convince him that he should wait until he, Luffy, could also go. To put it precisely, Luffy was throwing another childish tantrum and Ace was studiously ignoring him.
“Ne, Aceeeeeeeee, just stay a few more years! What would it matter if you got a late start?”
When it became obvious that Ace wasn’t going to respond, that he, in fact, wasn’t even paying attention, Luffy pouted angrily. A moment later his face brightened and a grin spread across his face. This particular grin was known by those closest to him. Nami and Usopp dreaded it. Sanji and Chopper put up with it. Robin and Zoro looked forward to it. It meant adventure. It meant going to an island no one in their right mind would think of stepping foot on. It meant going up against a Shichibukai. Nami fondly called it his “bad idea” smile. She often knew that whatever came out of his mouth following that grin, would be a bad idea.
Luffy extended one arm across the room and wrapped around Ace’s shoulders a couple times. He let his body be pulled forward so he slammed into his older brother’s back and wrapped his other arm around his waist. Like this, Ace was trapped in the rope of his arms with the line of his body pressed against Luffy’s.
Luffy laughed with all his teeth showing, “Gotcha!”
Ace tried to be mad, he really did, but he found his lips stretching up. He let out a soft ‘ha’ on a sigh. Luffy’s antics were often amusing. In this case, not only was it amusing but it warmed Ace to know that Luffy didn’t want him to go. Even if part of that reason was simply because he hated being left out of anything.
“Luffy,” he said in the tone of voice he’d learned was the only thing Luffy ever listened to. He’d taken pointers from Garp.
“Luffy, let go.”
Reluctantly, the younger boy loosened his grip until his extended limbs shot back to their normal length. A curtain of black hair covered the boy’s face. The sight of Luffy’s bowed neck and slumped shoulders twisted something in him. Ace would never postpone his trip, no matter how much Luffy ranted and raved but he didn’t enjoy causing his little brother pain.
“Luffy.”
This time his voice was more gentle. Luffy’s head perked up the tiniest bit at the change in tone. If he’d been a dog his ears would have pricked up. The mental image made Ace smile. Luffy was every bit the puppy that had chased after him from day one and remained loyal from then till now. It gave him the feeling that he was kicking a puppy.
He reached out one hand and placed it solidly on top of Luffy’s head. A hand settled over his and tugged it till his palm was pressed against the younger boy’s lips. Luffy planted a firm kiss to the center of it. Ace’s skin prickled at the feel of a tongue sliding up the meaty part of his palm and up his middle finger. Teeth bit onto the tip. Not enough to draw blood but enough to cause a slight edge of pain.
That was one thing Ace had learned very quickly. Luffy was not a gentle lover. He was rough and impatient and not given to any romantic tendencies. He was a flurry of limbs and tongue. Often he would spare little time for any foreplay and immediately try to slam himself down on Ace’s cock. On the one hand, Ace enjoyed that aspect of Luffy’s personality immensely. Especially when all he wanted was to slam into Luffy as quickly as possible.
However, this was bad for several reasons. Ace wouldn’t say he was exactly romantic himself but he did enjoy taking his time every now and then. He liked to touch his lover’s body all over, to feel the skin shiver at the stroke of his fingers over it. He enjoyed mouthing at Luffy’s neck, his ears, nipples, thighs, and cock. In essence, sometimes he liked to tease his lovers to the point of desperation. Luffy rarely had that kind of patience.
The second reason it was bad was that in his haste, Luffy didn’t stop to make sure he was actually prepared to smash his body onto Ace’s. More than once, they’d been in such a rush that Luffy had been torn and bloody from the tight, raw friction with no lubricant.
Ace didn’t want the last time they had sex for a while to be like that. He wanted to be able to remember it with no regrets. He wanted Luffy to remember it with no regrets. There was a small vain part of himself that wanted Luffy to remember how good it was to be with him, even if he found someone else to be with. Also, he just plain, selfishly wanted it his way. In his mind, since he was the one who was leaving, he was the one who should get what he desired.
Luffy’d managed to remove both their shirts and was in the process of sliding Ace’s pants down his hips. Considering that Ace never wore underwear (neither did Luffy) this would leave him completely naked.
“Luffy. Luffy, slow down.”
“But, Ace-“
Ace crashed his lips onto Luffy’s to silence his whining. He nibbled on that full lower lip and pulled away with a wet slap. He backed Luffy up and swept one leg out to knock him on his ass. In the next moment, he was straddling the other boy’s hips with a heavy hand in the center of Luffy’s chest to hold him down. He enjoyed it when Luffy kicked up a fuss and did everything he could to scramble out of his grip. It was always a struggle between them, at first anyway. Ace’s thirst for strength and Luffy’s desire to one day beat him made it impossible for it to go any other way. The knowledge that, despite all the strength in his frantic hits and wildly bucking body, he could do nothing to knock Ace off made a wildfire rush of heat slam into the older boy.
Pulling up to his full height, he took in the struggling body under his own, savoring the view. One hand reached down between their bodies to slide into Luffy’s loose capri’s. He slid his hand around his brother’s achingly hard erection and gave it a few determined pulls. Luffy went from a wild, thrashing thing to something docile and limp; it was like his muscles relaxed all at once. Ace smirked and worked his hand faster, stopping every once in a while to run a finger lightly over the tip. Taming Luffy was like taming one of the wild beasts that stomped and roared over Mt. Corvo. It brought that same rush of exhilaration and triumph.
Luffy himself wasn’t thinking such deep thoughts. In fact, he wasn’t really thinking about much of anything except the sweet drag of Ace’s calloused hand on his sensitive flesh. Irritated with the constriction of his jeans every time he tried to spread his legs wider, he slid and wiggled them down to his knees before he kicked them off entirely. Much better.
This earned him a near-painful squeeze around the base of his dick. But it wasn’t painful. No, it was exquisite. Everything exploded into blackness, his vision swimming for a moment. He barely noticed the pain when he involuntarily slammed his head back and worked his throat in a silent shout. When he could finally use his mouth again, the sound that came out of him was embarrassingly needy. Luffy shivered from the feel of hot breath and soft lips ghosting over the shell of his ear.
Ace’s deep voice was always heightened with a mocking edge to it. Even when he was being perfectly sincere it always seemed like he was picking a fight. Somehow, that combined with the hoarse quality it had begun to have made his cock twitch and leak.
“I like it when you sound like that, Luffy, I like it a lot.”
As if to illustrate his words, Ace lowered his body onto Luffy’s so the younger boy could experience just how much he liked it. Feeling how Luffy began to drip more the instant Ace spoke against his ear, he could barely contain the self-satisfied grin curling the ends of his lips.
“Just the sound of my voice makes you this wet?” he paused to relish the bright bloom spreading across his little brother’s cheeks, part from embarrassment and part from anger at being embarrassed.
“Shut up, you bastard!” He squirmed his way out from under the other’s body and aimed a punch at Ace’s face.
Deftly, Ace grabbed his wrist and forced it down at Luffy’s side.
Face lined with serious intent, Ace spoke each word distinctly, “Don’t move or I’ll tie you so you can’t move.”
With that, Luffy felt big hands wrap around his thighs. An abrupt yank sent his legs flying up and apart. He was suddenly so aware of the way the cool air touched his bare skin so intimately. The only response he got from trying desperately to bring his legs back together was for Ace to grip tighter so that his fingers made little indents in his flesh. He was utterly exposed and he couldn’t do anything about it.
It was made so much worse by the shit-eating smirk on Ace’s knowing face. Knowing that he was even more humiliated this way. Knowing that despite the churning in his gut, he couldn’t help but feel more aroused at the way Ace lazily slid his gaze over his bared bits. With little aplomb, he bent and sucked Luffy’s cock down in one big gulp.
Like most things he did, Ace excelled at sucking dick. In Luffy’s limited experience (limited to only Ace himself), this was the best feeling in the world. Breaking the ban on movement, he buried his fingers in his brother’s curly locks because he had to catch hold of something…anything to ground him. The combination of wet suction, swirling tongue movements, and the inch-by-inch descent down Ace’s throat drove Luffy mad with desire. Soon, the head of his member was hitting the back of Ace’s throat on every downward glide and Luffy was a writhing, panting, moaning mess. He was so close, so close. Just a few more sucks and he’d be tipping over the edge he was straddling.
Ace chose that moment to pull away. Close to tears, Luffy tried desperately to keep him there but his grip was broken easily. He jumped when a slick sensation went down from his balls to his hole. A tongue pushed insistently at the clenched ring of muscle, working the tip of it in more a little at a time. With every stab, Luffy let out a louder and louder shout.
Hands balled into fists on either side of his head, Luffy thrashed his face from side-to-side, “Please!”
Luffy wanted to weep when the penetrating sensation stopped, though, he didn’t know if it was in relief or disappointment.
“Please what, Luffy?”
If he didn’t know he’d do anything just to get that feeling back, just to get some kind of release, he’d have told Ace to take his smug attitude and shove it up his own ass. As it was, he could barely stop himself from begging for Ace to fill him up, right fucking now.
“Ace…” Luffy bit his lip hard, feeling unwanted tears prickling at the edge of his eyes.
Fingers slid to the corner of his right eye, making no move to wipe the wetness away, simply touching it. There was sort of gentle reverence in the way Ace traced fingers over Luffy’s face, as if to memorize it.
“Sorry, sorry, I was a bit too mean, hm?” The tone was light but Ace’s face showed how torn he was.
Luffy reached out shivering arms to twine around his brother’s broad shoulders and pulled till he could press his lips firmly against Ace’s. A tongue flicked out and he let it slide in, gliding across the sensitive roof of his mouth. When he felt a surprise finger push its way into his lightly stretched hole, he almost bit Ace’s tongue off.
“Ahh!” Luffy cried out as a second finger slid in all the way to the knuckle. This time he almost bit his own tongue when the finger scissored him open. A third finger was added and they fell into a gentle rhythm that had Luffy keening and fucking himself onto Ace’s hand. He felt possessed by the burning need to get as much of it in him as possible. It made him feel less terribly empty. “Ace, pl-“
Before Luffy could finish pleading with him, the older boy pulled his fingers out and, without missing a beat, sheathed his length to the hilt in one inexorable thrust. They both made unintelligible noises of pleasure. Ace slammed into Luffy’s reddened passage again and again with thrusts so vigorous that Luffy had to clutch the other boy’s body to keep from sliding across the wood floor.
God. So good. It felt so good. Ace was angled in such a way that on every outward pull he brushed against the bundle of nerves that made Luffy dig half-crescents into the would-be pirate’s back.
It had been a great last fuck. Not that either of them had thought at the time that it would be the last they would have. Luffy supposed it was good that they’d said goodbye, in a way, then. The memory would always be bittersweet but it would never be just bitter. Or tainted by being a blissful moment that Luffy’s future self would look back and scorn for being so obliviously happy and unconcerned.
He couldn’t shake the feeling of being empty, though. With all his friends to fill him up, he knew he was better of than if Ace had died back when the only person he had was his older brother. Then he truly would have been left alone. Still, there would always be a piece of him that was just gone. Today he felt it more deeply, made all the worse by being surrounded by people that enraged him for the simple reason that they were not Ace.
Zoro he could stand. He gave off the same feelings that Ace did. He always felt protected by Zoro even as he felt protective of the older man. Luffy could count on Zoro to take care of him while he took care of the rest of their nakama.
For the moment, all the Luffy could do was clench his teeth against the waves of sorrow that crashed against him as hard as the sea crashed against the Sunny and wait for the turbulence inside him to settle down again.
Zoro, now doing one-armed curls, switched the weight from his right hand to his left so he could lay that hand on top of Luffy’s head. That was enough for now. Just to know he wasn’t alone. That just because he couldn’t look beyond the days gone by didn’t mean there wouldn’t come a time where he would look forward to the days to come. With this man at his side.
