Kyoya stared at the empty faces of his friends and family. No emotion fell over their faces as the stared at the cold body of Kyoya’s wife; Kyoya was angered at their indifference. He hated the derisive comments about her death, the gnawing cynicism of her motives for marrying him, and the slight mirth of her dying.
“Kyoya?” A sweet voice echoed passed him from his school days. “Will you be okay?” Kyoya looked up to a beautiful Haruhi. Her hair was now grown out, and her finger now adorned an engagement ring. She looked similar to ten years ago when they had first met, however.
Kyoya smiled a tearful smile at his friend. “I’ll be okay. I promise.” Though his words sounded confident, he felt like he was slowly breaking down.
Haruhi replied, “Tamaki and I are here for you.” Kyoya looked up to see her smile. “If you need to talk, we’re just a phone call away.”
Kyoya suddenly saw Takumi’s face in Haruhi’s. Tears broke from his eyes; he choked up. “I loved her, Haruhi. It hurts.”
