Ash sighed and rolled over onto his back as Bayleef headbutted him playfully. "Yes, yes I missed you too." Laughing, he gazed up at the sky and wondered what Kalos would be like once he got there.
"Ash? Where are you? There's a famous breeder from Sinnoh here to see the Lab if you want to come meet him."
Sitting up Ash turned towards Alexa. A breeder from Sinnoh? It couldn't be him, could it? “I'll be right there!” He called out, while getting to his feet. After getting knocked back down twice by Bayleef Ash finally made it over to where Alexa was waiting. “Lead the way.”
Alexa turned and headed towards the house and Ash followed close behind her, his heart racing as an image of an older man with gentle eyes and long lavender hair rose up in his mind's eye.
“-And this is where I give new trainer's their first Pokemon.” Professor Oak was saying as Alexa and Ash came into earshot. Ash's heart sped further as he saw that the breeder was none other than Reginald Weiss, the older brother of his former rival, Paul Weiss.
“Reggie! What are you doing here?” Ash ran up to him, stopping just short of tacking him, his heart racing fast and something twitching hard in his pants. Hoping that Reggie wouldn't notice, Ash tried to will his racing heart to slow down.

“Hey, Mom! Why didn't you tell me that we'll be having company tonight?” Ash asked the second he was inside.
“You were in such a rush to visit with your Pokemon at the lab that I never had a chance to! I take it that you met the young man at the lab?” Delia didn't even look up from chopping red onions for the salad as she spoke.
“I met him back in Sinnoh actually! Reggie is the older brother of my Sinnoh rival, Paul.” Ash explained as he toed off his shoes.
“Oh, did you now? That's good. Ash, I know this is last minute, but I have to go to Viridian City tonight to pick up Mr. Mime from the Pokemon Center. He was injured trying to keep your Tauros from stampeding through our garden after they somehow escaped from the lab. I'll be back tomorrow.” Delia added the onions to the pot. “Don't worry though, Mr. Mime is fine! He just couldn't set up enough Barriers fast enough to block thirty Tauros and ended up getting a little trampled, that's all.”
Ash looked at his mother in shock, unable to quite believe what he was hearing. “So I'll be alone here with Reggie all night? I thought you didn't trust me to be alone with any of my friends.”
“I don't trust you to be alone with your female friends, but Reggie is a guy.
"No! No of course I won't!" Ash agreed even though that was exactly what he planned on doing.
Delia nodded without looking up. "Were all your Pokemon happy to see you?"
Laughing, Ash nodded. “Yeah! Bayleef was so happy she gave me bruises Body Slamming me to the ground.”
Delia gasped before laughing as well. “Nothings broken I hope?” When Ash shook his head she relaxed again. “Good. Now go wash up, dinner is almost ready!”
Ash ran into the bathroom and washed his hands and his face vigorously, not wanting to be told to wash them again because they weren't clean enough. By the time he was done, the table was set and the food was being laid out. Just as he was about to sit down, however, there was a knock at the door.
“Will you please get that?” Delia asked as she removed something from the oven.
Ash ran to the door, opening it quickly to let Reggie in. “You don't have to knock; you're a guest here.” Ash laughed softly as his heart began racing again and his pants felt tighter than normal.
“I'll keep that in mind.” Reggie smiled gently at Ash and Ash felt his heart skip a beat. Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, Ash led Reggie to the table as Delia began dishing out the food.

Trying to make a good impression, he volunteered to wash the dishes after dinner, and Delia accepted the offer with relief.

The next few hours flew by as Ash finished the dishes and settled down on the couch to watch TV. He closed his eyes just for a moment but must have fallen asleep because when he opened them he was being carried upstairs to his bedroom by Reggie.
“Did I fall asleep on the couch?” He asked mareepishly.
“Yes you did.” Reggie laughed as he set Ash down outside his door. “I'll see you in the morning, good night.”

“Ash, that was a great battle!” Clemont recalled his Pokemon as the referee declared Ash the victor and presented him with the Voltage Badge.

“Did Reggie really mean so little to you? I saw you two leave the Tower and head into the alley so I followed.” Paul huffed as he crossed his arms, glaring at Ash.
“Clemont is the Lumiose City Gym Leader; We were in Prism Tower because that's where the gym is! And this is a short cut to the Pokemon Center! I'm not cheating on your brother!”
“Ash... who is Reggie?” Clemont asked, sounding hurt.
“A breeder I met in Sinnoh. Just before I left home to come to Kalos he was visiting my home town and we ended up in bed together. We never ended things so Reggie is my boyfriend; long distance boyfriend yes but still my boyfriend. This is Paul, Reggie's younger brother and my Sinnohian rival. “Trying to challenge Diantha but she's not accepting any challenges right now except apparently for yours? Why are you so special?” Paul raised a brow questioningly.
“Its a long story involving a slice of sold out cake.” Ash laughed. “Is my nose broken?”
“No. A bit bruised but nothing that can't be covered up with makeup.” Paul actually winked at Ash and he gaped at his former rival shocked that Reggie had told him that part.
“Ash we need to get our Pokemon to Nurse Joy.” Clemont reminded him as he strode purposefully past Paul towards the central Lumiose Pokemon Center, Ash and Paul following him. But when Ash pushed open the doors and turned around, Paul was gone.

“Your Pokemon are feeling much better!” Nurse Joy commented as Wigglytuff wheeled Pikachu and several Pokeballs towards where Ash and Clemont were sitting and Ash breathed a sigh of relief as Clemont had asked him yet again about Paul's makeup comment.
Ash scooped up Pikachu and his Pokeballs and saw Clemont grab his out of the corner of his eyes as he felt the atmosphere change seconds before he saw him. Reggie was crossing the room towards him, his hair freed from is usual ponytail, his brother sitting in a chair behind him and Ash knew why Paul had vanished earlier.
He'd left to call Reggie and tell him where Ash was. Breaking into a run, he threw himself at Reggie. “What are you doing here?”
“I missed you too much!” Reggie barely took the time to answer before kissing Ash. “I'll come with you on the rest of your journey through Kalos; it hurts to much to be away from you.”
Ash's only answer was another kiss as he felt his heart fill with a joy he'd never known he could feel.
