Why in the name of hell were there candles burning in the hallway in front of his apartment? The dank smell of smoke as he blew them out assaulted the nose of one Akame Nisei as he fished the silver key from his pocket and pushed it into the lock. The inside of his apartment seemed relatively unchanged, but he noted that a few little things he’d left out before he was forced to leave in a rush after an order from Seimei to go get Agatsuma back from his little brother were missing. Nothing major, just a game he’d bought but hadn’t had time to start yet, and a couple photos he was going through to replace the ones he kept on the mantle to keep up appearances when people came over; such as his brother just happening to be ‘in the neighborhood’ and stopping by for a visit, or Mimuro and/or other classmates coming over to do school work. Who would want any of those things? How strange. As strange as the fresh flowers that were sitting on a normally empty spot on the mantle between the living room and kitchen. Although the place should have been filthy from months-almost a year, really-of a lack of upkeep while he was gone, it seemed like someone had come in recently to clean. A pile of mail sat on his kitchen table that he knew wasn’t there when he left.
Mimuro, of course. Who else would come into his apartment to clean it, knowing he was gone? It wasn’t like anyone else, including his poor excuse for a family, had noticed his long absence. Not like it was something he had wanted, really, but it stung a little that no one noticed he was gone and not checking in. How had his brother not noticed during one or two of his ‘random’ drop byes? Eh, he’d probably assumed Nisei was home and just avoiding him or something. That sounded relatively Nisei-like.
The raven dropped his luggage down just inside the door to his apartment and began looking around to see if anything else was missing. If anyone had touched or taken his equipment, they’d better hope they were dead before he got to them. He entered his room, a bit worried about what he’d find within. To his surprise, his computers and other technology were still there. Strangely, his desk top that was really just a flat screen HD television he’d hooked up to work with an old modem had a sticky note on it with the words ‘do not touch’ scrawled on it in familiar writing.
“Ah, Sempai.” Nisei sighed, running his fingers gently over the note fondly. “Even after all this time, you’re still looking out for me.”
With a yawn, the raven haired teen walked across the room to his bed. Taking off his jeans and tossing them to the floor across the room, he slipped into bed and was asleep before his head hit the pillow.

As if the state of his apartment and the candles in the hallway weren’t enough, the somber feeling that crept over him at the school like a burst of wind was something else entirely. There was another set of candles around a tree out front, also decorated with some dying flowers and a couple framed photos. He peered a little closer, wondering who had died, only to be startled that the photographs were all of him; him with his siblings, an old family photo, himself and Mimuro. Just what the heck was going on? Did they all think he was dead? Alright, so he’d missed almost an entire year of schooling, hadn’t bothered to contact Mimuro even once after telling him they shouldn’t see one another anymore, and hadn’t made any attempts to gather his school work but…dead…? Really? Oh come on, at least Mimuro had to have realized he wasn’t dead, right?
“Idiots.” Nisei scoffed.
What was the point of all this? No one from his school, or family, liked him enough to care if he died. What game were they playing? Waiting to make him feel bad when he ever returned?
He fixed his backpack strap over his shoulder and gingerly touched the side of his face where a scar caused by Seimei’s knife after he lost was concealed by makeup. He hoped it wasn’t visible. For the most part, he didn’t have a lot of injuries that were visible, but the few that were, were a pain. He didn’t need people asking him about it, since he couldn’t tell the truth. Well, maybe he’d tell Mimuro, but no one else. Mimuro knew enough anyway, being a Sacrifice himself. He hated Seimei with a passion for many reasons; one of the biggest being how horribly he treated and abused Nisei.
Entering the building, he was a little surprised to see his parents standing with the Principal. His brother and sister were nowhere in sight, but that wasn’t surprising considering his sister had class too and his brother was most likely working. But why would his parents be there at the school? And…each holding a box that had things poking out of it that looked like they belonged in Nisei’s locker? Oh, right, everyone thought he was dead, so they were probably finally cleaning out his locker. Pft, took them long enough. He remembered a journal he kept in there regarding his past hacking jobs and one regarding Seimei’s plans and cringed. Hopefully they hadn’t gone through those to try and find clues as to where he’d gone off to. Eh, Mimuro had the combination. He’d probably got to those books before, since he knew what was in there as much as Nisei did.
The Hacker sighed, taking a few steps closer to his parents.
“Oi, what the hell are you doing with my shit?” He wondered, folding his arms over his chest as he took a defensive stance.
His parents turned around, surprised, as the Principal’s jaw dropped. All motion in the hallway stopped.
“A-Akame?” He wondered.
“In the flesh.” Nisei sneered. “Can I have my shit back?”
“Language.” His father’s jaw was set. “Where in the hell have you been?”
He all but threw the box into Nisei’s arms. The Fighter took a step back as he caught it so he wouldn’t get knocked over onto his backside.
“Don’t throw things.” Nisei huffed. “And you say I’m uncivilized. I don’t need to tell you where I’ve been. I’ve just been on vacation.”
“Vacation that included not telling anyone you were leaving or where you were going, and not having the consideration to tell anyone or let alone know you’re alive for almost an entire year?”
“I wasn’t aware you gave a rat’s ass about me or what I’m doing, so pardon me if I don’t tell you everything.”
“Show a little respect, Nisei.” His mother scolded. “We’ve been worried about you.”
Nisei scoffed. “Sure you have. Can I have my other box of stuff so I can put everything back in my locker?”
His mother rolled her eyes at him, but gave him the smaller box. He put it on top of the larger one, grabbing a flash drive out of the smaller one that was threatening to fall out of a little hole he spotted in the box. He slipped it into his jeans pocket.
“Nisei?” Mimuro’s voice asked.
Nisei turned on his heel to spot his blonde best friend standing a little way away from him. He looked out of breath, like he’d just been informed that Nisei was there and had raced through the corridors to get to where he was.
“Oh, Sempai.” Nisei blushed. “You look like shit.”
“I could say the same to you.” Mimuro laughed. “Your hair’s shorter?”
“Not by much…” Nisei played with his low ponytail that was laying lazily over his left shoulder.
Yeah, Seimei had chopped off a bit of it before Nisei had managed to avoid the younger teen’s knife and save more of his hair. It had taken his entire life to grow it out to the length he wanted, and it was his favorite thing about himself. And that was saying something, since there wasn’t all that much he liked about himself in the first place, really. Bastard.
“Shocker…” His father muttered.
That seemed to snap Mimuro out of whatever stupor had taken over him upon seeing his best friend-former best friend, Nisei had to remind himself-for the first time in almost a year and he moved from where he was standing to Nisei’s side.
“Hai?” Nisei asked. “Can I help you?”
Without warning, he felt a hand collide with the back of his head.
“Ow!” Nisei complained. “What the hell, Sempai?”
“That’s for vanishing for almost an entire year without so much as a goodbye.” Mimuro informed. “You’re a damn fool…”
“I left kind of last minute…” Nisei muttered.
“I don’t want to hear the bull. Save it for later. Come on, we’ve got class.”
“Right…class…” Nisei picked up the boxes to follow the blonde, but Mimuro stopped him.
The blonde took the larger box from Nisei and left the smaller one on the floor near his feat without a word. Nisei blinked before coming to his senses and grabbing the box to trot after the blonde.
“Are you mad at me?” He wondered.
“That’s an understatement…” Mimuro muttered.
The crowds seemed to open up so they could get through before closing in around them again.
“Gomen…” Nisei muttered, hiding behind his bangs as he followed the silent blonde to his locker. “Arigato for the help…”
“Yeah, what are friends for? If we’re even friends anymore.” Mimuro dropped the box in front of Nisei’s old locker.
“I…suppose we have a lot to catch up on…”
Mimuro nodded, leaning on the locked next to Nisei’s as the raven opened his locker and began packing all his things back inside.
“Here.” He dug through his backpack before pulling out two black notebooks and handing them to Nisei.
“So you did get them from my locker…”
“The day after you left.”
“You’ve been looking out for me since they day we met…do you realize that?”
Mimuro shrugged one shoulder. “You’re my friend.”
He didn’t say anything more on that matter; keeping silent while Nisei tried to put everything back inside.
“You can go to class. I’ll catch up with you at lunch.”
“I eat lunch off campus every day with Mei.” Mimuro offered.
“Game Club then?”
They didn’t see each other much during the day, since Nisei was in classes a grade behind his friend.
“No longer exists.”
“What?” Nisei shoved a book in his locker. “Since when?”
“Since you left. Can’t be a Club with only one member, baka.” Mimuro rolled his eyes.
“I…didn’t realize…”
“You didn’t realize a lot of things before you left, really.”
“I know…but when I got the order to get going, I had to follow.”
“And you couldn’t have given me a head’s up?”
“I didn’t have time.”
A lame excuse, he knew, but it was the truth.
“So you make time. You have a cell phone and your fingers seem to work fine. All you had to do was call me or shoot me a text.”
“I didn’t have access to my cell phone.” Nisei pouted. “Seimei took mine and Agatsuma’s phones away so we couldn’t communicate with anyone.”
“Why? Not out of pity if you didn’t make it, that’s for sure.”
“As far as Agatsuma goes, he didn’t want him getting to Ritsuka. Seimei’s trying to break him to force his damn name to appear. He thinks that will get his brother’s memories back.” Nisei scoffed. “It was a rather strong spell. He won’t recover that easily.”
Mimuro rolled his eyes. “I see you’re still as cocky as ever…what’s with the makeup?”
“What?”
“On your cheek.” Mimuro poked the spot. “Got acne problems?”
“No, of course not.” Nisei scoffed, brushing away the poking hand.
“A scar?”
“Maybe.”
“Battle?”
“Seriously?”
“Just me being hopeful I guess.” Mimuro sighed through his teeth. “What did you do this time? Breathe?”
“No, I lost.” Nisei slammed his locker shut, having set the small box on the shelf in his locker and the other on the bottom of it.
“You? Lose?” Mimuro laughed. “No, really. Tell me. Why?”
“Are you stupid?” Nisei wondered. “I just said I lost. Don’t rub it in, alright? Come on, class I guess…”
“Woah, you’re serious?” Mimuro jogged to catch up with the briskly walking younger teen. “Off your game a little?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Nisei huffed.
“Who was it?”
“I said I don’t…” He sighed. “Moonless, alright? Now can we stop talking about it?”
“Fine, but I’ll bring it up later.”
“Fine.”
“And I’m coming over after class. And I don’t care what that asshole Aoyagi says about it, either.”
“He didn’t come back with me. It’s not like he’d know.” Nisei shrugged a shoulder.
“He’s that mad?”
Nisei shrugged again. “I guess so. Won’t call or answer me. Told Agatsuma and I we were disgraces to his name and to not contact him; that he’d contact us when he’s ready. If he’s ever ready, which I doubt.”
“Well here’s to freedom.” Mimuro held up a hand in a mock cheer.
“Not in the mood, Mimuro. I was just discarded.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…”
“I know what you were trying to do, but the humor’s lost on me. I’m hurt.” He opened the door to his homeroom and slammed it behind him.
“Akame, don’t break my door.” His sensei warned. “And welcome back.”
“Arigato, sensei, my apologies.”
He went to his desk in the back left corner of the room and lay his head on it, dropping his bag to the floor and pushing it under his desk with a foot. This was going to be a long first day back.
000
He had met with Mimuro outside the classroom where the Game Club had met before it was disbanded, and the blonde had talked him into going to a café they liked nearby before going over to his apartment to talk. They sat on the living room couch together, not saying a word to one another. Nisei was just staring at his pale haired companion as he sat on the couch, fidgeting with his hands and bouncing his leg like he was trying to find the words to say but couldn’t. It was rather pathetic, he felt, but he wasn’t going to say that to his best friend. Not after they’d spent so long apart, and Mimuro seemed like he would snap at him the minute Nisei said something rude or condescending. It was only a matter of time, since rude and condescending tended to be how he talked; to Mimuro or anyone else. It was how he was as a Fighter. Cold, biting, stinging, cutting, hurting, callous, cruel, no regard for his safety or the safety of anyone besides his Sacrifice, and even that was thrown out the window sometimes. It wasn’t like he could just shut it off, even for such a good friend that he cared about deeply, even if he didn’t show it well.
Mimuro sighed, dragging the raven haired Fighter from his thoughts.
“You ready to talk now?” Nisei wondered, leaning back and folding his arms over his chest.
“Yeah.” Mimuro replied. “I am.”
“Well?” Nisei asked after silence passed for a good five minutes.
“Sorry…”
“If you’re not ready to talk, let me know when you are. But you don’t have to stay here until you figure it out.”
“No, I have to talk to you know. I don’t know when the next chance I’ll get will be.”
“What are you talking about? We go to school together and you can always come over after classes.”
“I barely see you at school. How am I supposed to know if you’re even there? We both know you only go to keep up appearances and prevent the police or your parents from breaking down your door looking for you.”
There was an edge in Mimuro’s voice that made Nisei blink in surprise. What happened to his best friend? Even when he made rude comments, they were always in a light, teasing manner. Never complete snips at him like that.
“What the hell’s gotten into you?”
“You, you have!” Mimuro groaned. “Ugh…just…an entire year without a single word from you? What the hell? I thought we were closer than that. I mean, hell, I know you said we shouldn’t see one another anymore, but you still contacted me after you said that, before you left.” He flopped back on the couch. “Yet you left me here for a year, on my own, without a single word from you. No calls, no texts, no emails, no popping up on servers or joining me in a party. And then you return here and try to act like nothing has happened? It’s not going to fly, and you owe me an explanation.”
Nisei scoffed. “I don’t owe you anything, sempai, I really don’t.” He replied. “But out of courtesy for the friendship and the bond we do have, I’ll give you one.”
“How generous of you.” Mimuro deadpanned, giving Nisei a ‘you’re serious’ look.
“I would have gotten a hold of you if I was able to, but I wasn’t. Seimei confiscated both mine and Agatsuma’s phones and forbid any contact with the outside world. I guess he was afraid either you or his brother would come barging down to Gora to try and get me or him back, respectively.” Nisei shrugged one shoulder. “And it’s rather hard to just pop onto any gaming whatsoever without a system and when you have Seimei breathing down your neck every single second you’re on the computer. I spent so much of my time there hacking and Fighting that I haven’t had time for much else. Unless I wanted to forgo sleep or eating. Same with Agatsuma, but he was painting while I was hacking. He’s rather useless outside of Fighting and taking care of the brat, really.” Nisei ran a hand through his hair. “I would have contacted you had I been able to, but the moment Seimei came here to get me, he took my phone.”
“I guess I should have figured that out on my own…” Mimuro flushed. “It’s just…I was worried something happened to you…something irreversible that would take you away for good…and once half a year passed, it sort of became clear that I wasn’t hearing from you ever again…and when your parents started to clean out your locker a week ago, that’s when it kicked in. ‘This is it, he’s gone forever. I’ll never see my best friend ever again’…and then today you show up at school with your backpack, confused as to why your things are being taken out of your locker, and expect to go back to normal. They’re going to question you, you know, and I hope you have a damn good excuse as to where you were all this time. I can stomach that you were in Gora serving Seimei and fighting for your life because I’m a Sacrifice and I know the exact brand of bullshit Seimei puts you through. But you say one word of that to your parents or the police, they have you carted off to a mental institution.”
“Don’t worry, I have a plan. I always do.” Nisei waved his hand. “My parents aren’t going to ask, anyway, but I’ve doctored enough things to make it look like I was touring Europe for a year.” He laughed.
“Europe…that’s what you’re going with…”
“Hai.”
Mimuro rolled his eyes. “Whatever you think will work, I guess…but you know your parents. This is going to ‘tarnish’ their family image and they’ll bug the shit out of you until you give in. And your brother? He’s been bugging me almost every day, asking if I heard anything. I tried ignoring him, but then I get six calls and twenty text messages from him if I do, so I gave up and just answered him with a ‘no’ and hung up.”
“He’s irritating beyond belief, I know…how did he even get your number?”
“Showed up here one day looking for you when I was here doing the same. We got to talking.” He shrugged. “He does care about you, you know. Even if he has a terrible way of showing it and tends to side with your parents more than anything…”
“I don’t need the lecture, sempai. I’ll get one from him once word gets to him that I’m back and he starts showing up unannounced.”
“I guess we should make the most out of what time we have left together, then. You know, before he shows up or Seimei makes you leave again…whichever is first…”
“I guess.” Nisei moved closer to his friend and leaned his head on his shoulder. “I…erm…thanks for being so concerned about me…”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Mimuro wrapped an arm around his friend. “You’re my friend and I lo…ahem…”
Nisei blushed but he fought it back. “I know…”
“Yeah…besides, with Seimei for a Sacrifice, anyone would worry…”
Nisei chuckled. “True enough.”
“Did…erm…did you have to…you know…?”
“Kill?”
“Yeah…”
“No.” Nisei shook his head. “No one of interest to speak of, other than Moonless.”
“And you’re still alive?”
“Even more surprising when you consider the fact that I lost…”
“You? Lost? You?”
“Yeah, yeah, rub it in, why don’t you…” Nisei huffed. “I wanted to go again, but Agatsuma told me to just go to sleep and he’d handle it…pathetic…”
“Did he lose too?”
“I wish…”
“Sorry.”
“It’s alright. I’m not dead, so that’s something at least.”
“A big something.”
“Yeah.”
Silence took over the room as the two sat there together, just enjoying being together after such a long time apart.
“Sempai…?”
“Hai?”
“What would you do if I never came back…?”
“What?”
“Just humor me…please…?” Nisei gave him puppy dog eyes, looking up at him from his shoulder.
“I’m not certain…honestly I’d have to go on and life my life anyway but…other than that…I really don’t know…”
Nisei tugged on Mimuro’s neko ear that was closest to him.
“Not what I meant…I wouldn’t think you’d do anything but live on…”
“Why are you so interested in that?” He tilted his head to pull his ear away from his friend.
“Just asking…I mean…come on…even Seimei and Mei know you’re just holding out for me…”
“I’m not, I…” Mimuro glared. “You don’t know everything, Nisei.”
“Mhm.” The hacker chuckled. “Relax, I’m only heckling you. Don’t take everything so seriously.”
“I think losing my ears is something that’s rather serious.”
“Hm…perhaps you take life too seriously.” Nisei stated, standing and stretching. “For someone named Fearless, you’re sure afraid of a lot of shit.”
“Like what?”
“Losing your ears, this conversation, admitting that losing them is no big deal, flunking…”
“The only thing I’ve ever been afraid of is losing you.”
Nisei let out a dry laugh. “Me? What about your Fighter?”
“She can handle herself.”
“And I can’t?”
“Depends on the circumstances.”
“Explain.”
“You can defend yourself, and Seimei, in a fight, but you can’t defend yourself from how you feel or your family getting to you.”
“How I feel? Sempai, in case you’ve forgotten, I don’t feel things.”
“Anger, hate, jealousy…those are emotions as much as joy, love, and sadness.”
Nisei snorted. “The negative ones, with the addition of sadness. Love, however, is something I will never be able to comprehend. For example, I can’t understand for the life of me why you like me of all people. After all I’ve done…”
“I know what you’ve done. I still love you…”
“That’s my point.” He was a bit surprised to hear Mimuro fully say that without stuttering or ending it at ‘lo’. “You know everything, yet that changes nothing. You’re confusing.”
“Maybe I’ve forgiven what you’ve done and chalked up most of it to Seimei…”
“You did always hate him…”
“I had no issue with him until he laid a hand on you.”
Nisei had shown up at Mimuro’s house hiding a bloody, injured hand from Mimuro’s mother under his coat and made up some lame excuse about needing help with homework to get up to Mimuro’s room alone to seek his help. Since then, he’d gotten better at patching himself up, but he still came to Mimuro after one of Seimei’s little fits for love and comfort, if not a bit of help if he didn’t think he did a good job on his injury.
“You’re so sweet, it hurts.” Nisei laughed, walking towards the kitchen. “All this talking about feelings and shit is starting to get to me. Start up a game, would you?”
“Uh yeah…”
Mimuro blushed. Did Nisei just call him sweet?
The raven walked into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water from a pitcher in the fridge and grabbed one of the donuts out of the box Mimuro had made him go with him to get after school. It was their old ritual; meet up after school or the club, go to the café for lattes and donuts, bring the food back to Nisei’s place, half ass half of their homework, eat their food, and play video games until Mimuro’s mother called him home. Then they’d just play online and talk through their headsets while Mimuro worked on homework between missions. Nisei would probably just leave his homework until homeroom or study hall the following day, considering he’d likely just forget without Mimuro to remind him.
After the chaos and unpredictability that was living with and serving Aoyagi Seimei, it felt nice to have some semblance of normalcy again. Like he never left.
He felt Mimuro enter the kitchen before he heard him. The hacker smiled gently at him over the rim of his cup before taking another sip to wash down the bite of donut. God he missed food from this place. He noticed Mimuro was just standing there, staring at him, so he put the cup down.
“Can I help you, Sempai?” He wondered.
“Just…erm…”
“Hai?”
“You’ve been gone way too long.” Mimuro laughed a little. “I’d almost forgotten what you looked like.”
“Oh, come on. You don’t almost forget what the guy you’re in love with looks like, Mimuro.” Nisei smirked. “So what is it? What’s wrong?”
Mimuro sighed and got closer to his friend until he was about a hair’s breadth from him.
“Sempai…?”
Why was his voice so unsure, he knees weak? It was just Mimuro. They’d been this close before, most likely.
Mimuro said nothing, instead pulling Nisei into a hug and nuzzling his face into silky black hair. Nisei warily hugged him back. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Mimuro, it was just that the last time someone physically touched him, it was Seimei dishing out a punishment. Perhaps a year of continuous abuse had made him paranoid. This wasn’t his master. This was Mimuro. His friend and, for lack of a better term, the closest thing he’d ever have to a lover. Sure, he’d lost his ears to an old girlfriend, but he barely remembered her name or face and she didn’t matter anyway.
“Yeah…?”
“What are you doing?”
“Something I’m probably going to end up regretting later when you hit me for it…”
“Hm?”
Without further warning, the blonde’s lips were pressed gently against the Fighter’s own. The raven’s eyes widened in surprise. Mimuro had never been this bold about his feelings for him before. What in the world was happening? Had Nisei’s disappearance really affected him that much?
Of course it did, you idiot. You were best friends, and he was in love with you. Of course going missing for a little over a year with no word would affect him. Stupid Nisei, never thinking.
The raven felt something warm press against his lips and moaned, granting access to the offending appendage. Mimuro’s hands found his biceps and held him in place as he deepened the kiss with his tongue. Nisei’s fingers found themselves tangled into Mimuro’s hair a few seconds later, pulling the blonde even closer as he relished in the feeling of those soft lips against his. The raven moaned, feeling Mimuro’s hands travel lower to grip gently at his friend’s hips and pull him closer.
Gathering his senses after a few moments of wrestling his tongue around with his best friend’s, Nisei grabbed Mimuro by the shoulders and lightly pushed him away just enough so they could have room to breathe, b not enough to lose contact completely. Mimuro’s eyes were closed as he leaned forward a bit to press his forehead to Nisei’s.
“What are you doing…?” Nisei asked.
“I’m…I’m not sure…” Mimuro replied, slowly opening his eyes. “I just…kind of…I don’t know, I felt like it. Maybe it was a stupid idea. I’m sorry.”
“Mm…” Nisei hummed.
Well, even if the blonde did think it wasn’t a smart idea now, he didn’t really seem to want to pull away. Then again, Nisei really didn’t either. What the hell was wrong with him? Maybe it was because, for the first time in a long time, someone was initiating physical contact with him out of kindness and desire instead of anger and hatred.
“I should…let you go…”
Nisei leaned in and wrapped his arms around the taller teen’s middle, making Mimuro’s ears and tail stand up straight. After a few seconds, the Sacrifice seemed to relax and get his mind back to him. He wrapped his arms around Nisei as well, leaning his chin on the slightly shorter boy’s head.
“I missed you as well…” Nisei admitted. “Being around my Sacrifice almost twenty-four seven is great, don’t get me wrong, but…Seimei sucks as a gaming partner, and Agatsuma just sucks.”
Mimuro laughed. That was the closest Nisei would get to showing heartfelt emotions to his friend. The elder knew Nisei was hiding behind a mask of uncaring emotionlessness, but that’s all it was in the end; an act. Somewhere, some part of him felt something. Maybe love, maybe not. Maybe for Mimuro, maybe not. Definitely for Seimei, though. Definitely. Nisei had been smitten since almost the day the Unit first met
“Only if Ritsuka asks nicely, I’d imagine.”
Nisei pulled back, looking up at the blonde, surprised. Mimuro laughed at the look on his face.
“What? Anyone would be a fool to think there wasn’t something between the two of them, you know.”
“I know, but for you to make such a crude joke…” Nisei chuckled. “How strange…has my disappearance really affected you so?”
“You have no idea, do you?” Mimuro laughed. “I love you, you idiot. Of course you going missing on me for almost a year would worry me, produce some changes in me. My mother’s noticed it. My cousin Hitomi, as well.”
“You love me, hm?” Nisei smirked. “You know, before I left, and even earlier today, you couldn’t bring yourself to say the complete phrase.”
“I think my actions speak for themselves, and to be unable to complete the thought when I was able to complete the action…? That would be pretty pathetic.”
“You tend to be about this sort of thing.”
Mimuro laughed, giving Nisei a brief kiss on the corner of his mouth again.
“Would you stop doing that?” Nisei blinked.
“You didn’t seem to mind earlier.” Mimuro reminded him.
“I’m not saying I do…” Nisei nibbled a little on his lower lip.
“Then why stop?”
“Because…”
His words were stolen away by Mimuro’s mouth yet again. Nisei moaned and allowed Mimuro to move him so he was pushed up against the counter, the blonde’s fingers dancing up under his shirt and over his heated skin. Fingers brushed a bandage and made Nisei jolt. Mimuro pulled back from him, giving him a disappointed, concerned look.
“Nisei?” He wondered.
Nisei flushed. “That’s…partially why you should have stopped…”
“What is it?”
Mimuro lifted his friend’s shirt just enough to expose the bandage covered injury. It looked poorly tended to and the bandages were starting to turn red a little. Nisei winced as Mimuro’s fingers graced his skin the wrong way and grabbed his wrist.
“Don’t worry about it. Just a cut. I’ll be fine.”
“Are you even taking care of it…?”
“I have. Just haven’t had a chance to change bandages yet. Can we stop talking about it…?”
“Sorry…”
“It’s fine.”
Mimuro ignored the injury and, although fearful of what he’d find elsewhere, returned to kissing the raven and dancing his fingers in odd patterns along his spine. Nisei didn’t seem to mind the physical contact as much anymore as he pulled the blonde as close as he could and kissed back with as much passion as he was given.
“Nisei?” Mimuro wondered, trailing kisses down the side of Nisei’s neck.
“H-Hai…?”
“Should we…erm…go somewhere more…comfortable…?”
“Yeah, the couch w-ah-works…” Nisei arched up off the counter.
“I was thinking somewhere else…” Mimuro entwined the fingers of their left hands and pulled the raven after him.
“S-Sempai…so bold.” Nisei chuckled, following the blonde of-mostly-his own accord.
“Can’t help it, I guess.”
Nisei dug his heels into the carpet. “Or…this could all be just a dream…”
“A dream?” Mimuro blinked in surprise. “Why would you be dreaming about this sort of thing?”
“Well…I…er…maybe I…you know…too…I…er…”
The Fighter blushed. He’d killed before. He’d…done other things he’d rather not think about before. But that wasn’t the point. He’d done horrible, terrible things-all of which were orders of Seimei and that Mimuro knew about and didn’t seem to care-without much effort, but saying this was hard? Mimuro was able to see right through him and had, on several occasions, said that he knew Nisei was able to feel things that he claimed he didn’t; like love.
“You what?” Mimuro wondered, pulling the shorter male into an embrace.
“You know…you…don’t make me s…say it…”
“I won’t know what you mean if you don’t say it, you know. Sometimes you’re actually pretty hard to read.”
“You’re so full of shit.” Nisei scoffed. “You can see right through me as easily as the Shigemori siblings can.”
The Faceless Unit. No one could see through them or remember their face once they left. However, they could see through anyone. He’d met with the girl once and she’d claimed to be able to see right through him, but it seemed that Seimei was the one unreadable person. Damn Seimei, such an enigma. Even to his Fighters.
“Maybe I’d rather have you say it than me say it?”
“Must you make things difficult?” Nisei sighed, taking the lead and pulling Mimuro towards his room.
“Nisei…?” The blonde wondered.
The raven stopped. “Shut up.” He quickly stood on his toes and kissed the corner of the elder male’s mouth. “Now come on. When’s your curfew?”
“You know I don’t have one…Seimei didn’t give you one, did he?”
“You could say that.” Nisei shrugged.
Mimuro rolled his eyes, knowing the other couldn’t see it. Damn it, Seimei. Treating Nisei like a stupid little kid that he owned. Again. The thought made his blood boil. Nisei must have sensed it because he squeezed his friend’s hand. Mimuro felt himself physically calm down as the raven practically tossed him into his room by the hand, letting him go so he could shut the door behind them.
Mimuro steadied himself by grabbing onto Nisei’s desk. He turned to face the Fighter just in time to see him shed his jacket and undo his belt.
“N-Nisei…”
“Hai?” The raven wondered, hanging his coat on the back of the door and offering his hand to Mimuro to take his.
Mimuro pulled his sweater up over his head and handed it to the lithe Fighter.
“Are we…erm…?”
“Are we what?”
“What are you planning on doing?”
“Whatever you want.” Nisei smirked. “I’m not the virgin here. I know how far I’m comfortable going.”
“I…um…aren’t we rushing this…?”
“Are we?” A cock of the eyebrow. “If you don’t want to do anything, that’s fine, but at least let me know…”
“I’m not against it at all.” Mimuro shook his head. “I just don’t want to rush things and then one of us regrets it in the morning.”
“And which one of us would be doing the regretting, hm?” Nisei wondered, moving closer to his friend.
“You know I feel about you…”
“And you know I return the feelings for the most part.”
“Most part?”
“As much as I can feel that way, I mean. I’m not exactly…”
He was silenced by a kiss from Mimuro. Nisei moaned and pulled the blonde closer by the jacket lapels. He moved them and pushed Mimuro enough that he was moving towards the bed. The blonde all but picked his friend up and moved to the bed. Nisei followed him up the bed to the pillows, never breaking their kiss. Thin fingers, one crooked, danced up under Mimuro’s shirt in the brief moment where Nisei’s lips moved from his friend’s mouth to just below his earlobe where his neck met his chin. Mimuro bit back a moan and the urge to arch up against the shorter male as Nisei gently nibbled on his right earlobe. The Fighter chuckled, releasing his earlobe to trail his tongue along the outer shell. When Mimuro moaned his name, Nisei pulled up at the hem of his shirt to give the blonde the hint. Mimuro pulled away and removed his shirt himself before sitting up and pulling the Fighter into another kiss. Nisei moaned as fingers trailed down his spine over his shirt and Mimuro’s tongue asked for permission to enter. After a few moments of their tongues dancing together, Nisei pushed the Sacrifice back so he was laying down with Nisei kneeling over him again.
Mimuro blinked up in surprise as Nisei made a show of grabbing the hem of his shirt and slowly pulling it over his head.
Don’t overreact, please Sempai…I don’t want to think about him. I want to think about you and what you’re going to do to me… He thought to himself as his skin and the injuries along it were revealed.
Mimuro gently trailed his fingers up over a healing bruise and across a healed but poorly maintained cut that was almost connected to it. Most of his injuries were old and uncovered, but he’d covered up the fresher one that Mimuro had found earlier. Nisei flushed, thinking Mimuro wouldn’t want to be with him anymore now that he saw him for what he was; a sick, injured little boy who was in way over his head with Aoyagi Seimei as a master and his plans as a heading.
“You…” Mimuro trailed.
“I know, I’m a mess.” Nisei laughed once, a bitter sound if he’d ever heard one. “If you don’t want to go further…I’d understand…”
“Why wouldn’t I?” Mimuro wondered, fingers ghosting Nisei’s skin until his cheek was resting against his hand. “You’re beautiful…”
“I’m scarred…”
“And beautiful.”
Nisei felt something within him that he’d never felt before and pulled the blonde into a searing kiss. Both of them ignored the tears trailing from the Fighter’s left eye. Mimuro rubbed his thumb pad through the liquid to clear it away as he deepened the kiss, pulling Nisei away with a gentle tug at the raven’s waist length hair. It was pulled back in a low ponytail as always, but it still reached far.
“I’m not…”
“You are.” Mimuro pecked him on the cheek. “What do I have to do to make you see? You’re so much more than these scars and bruises…so much more than Seimei’s anger and orders.”
“To you maybe.”
“Right now, you and I are the only ones that matter.” Mimuro pulled Nisei’s hand to him and kissed the crooked middle finger Agatsuma had sprained over a year ago. “And if you don’t see yourself that way, well then what kind of a boyfriend am I if I don’t make it my mission to make you see?”
“Boyfriend? A little preemptive, isn’t it?”
“Your parents have always assumed we were together, as have my mother and your brother…so…I mean, you’re the closest I’ve ever gotten to a boyfriend and…”
“So are you.” Nisei grinned sheepishly. “I don’t necessarily mind the term…I’m just more surprised by it than anything.”
“I won’t use it again.”
“I’d like it if you did…”
“Okay…boyfriend.”
Nisei faked a shiver as Mimuro’s free hand trailed up his spine again.
“I love you.” Mimuro informed, nuzzling against the hacker’s neck and placing a ghosting kiss there.
“You too…”
Mimuro reached to Nisei’s waistline and pulled his belt off of him with a snap. The raven responded with a kiss to his temple and unbuttoning his jeans. The dark denim slowly slipped down pale hips to reveal his boxers underneath. From what Mimuro could tell, not only was the raven uninjured below the waist, but he was also enjoying himself. The idea made Mimuro blush. Of all the people in the world, he was the one to turn Nisei on like this. How lucky.
Nisei’s pants were discarded off the side of the bed in the same manner as both boys’ shirts. His nimble fingers made quick work of Mimuro’s belt and jeans button and zipper as his mouth kept itself busy by latching onto Mimuro’s neck where the skin met his shoulder. Mimuro arched against him, tossing his head back to give the other more room to work as he moaned the raven’s name and felt his pants being pulled down. Nisei shifted so he could finish removing the garment and tossed it to the floor once it was removed from its owner.
Mimuro was the one to break the kiss, his thumb running soft, soothing circles against Nisei’s cheek.
“I love you.” Mimuro said. “More than anything.”
A peck on the raven’s lips.
“You’ve said that already…”
“I don’t want you to forget…besides…we’ve been friends since we were fourteen, fifteen…and I’ve been in love with you since the day I met you…I have quite some time to make up for.”
“You do.”
Nisei nodded, nuzzling into Mimuro’s neck as the blonde freed his hair and tossed the hair tie onto a nightstand next to the bed.
“Sempai?” He looked up from his spot on Mimuro’s neck.
“What? I like your hair down.”
Nisei smiled nervously, tucking a stray piece of obsidian behind his ear in a rather uncharacteristically feminine manner. Mimuro kissed his temple. The raven was still kneeling over him, his hair falling down like a waterfall around the two of them. Mimuro pushed some of the hair back and kissed his cheek.
Neither spoke for a minute, choosing instead to just relish in the warmth and contact from one another. It had been far too long since they’d been able to be alone together; to have some quality time between the two of them. Nisei wasn’t stupid enough to either try to hide or forget that back when they had first met, they’d been practically all over each other. The attraction was obvious from the get go, but aside from a few simple kisses and almost losing their virginities in Nisei’s bed at his parents’ place before they divorced and he moved out, they hadn’t really been as intimate as either would have liked.
Suddenly Nisei was pulling away from him to sit up straight on his knees and stretching his back, arms over his head. Mimuro watched him, smiling lazily as the muscles under the Fighter’s skin pulled taught with his stretching. The blonde resisted the urge to touch one, worrying he might kill the mood if he were to somehow tickle the younger male.
“What?” Nisei wondered, cracking open one eye to stare down at the man underneath him.
“Can’t I just watch you?”
“It’s a little creepy.”
“Says the stalker that I’m about the sleep with, hm?”
“I’m not a stalker.”
“What do you call all the webcams and other such nonsense with the younger Aoyagi?”
“Work.”
“Mhm.”
“Oh, shut up.”
“Make me.”
Nisei smirked and leaned down, kissing the blonde as if to answer those words as a challenge. Mimuro’s hands gripped gently at the younger’s biceps. Nisei’s hips arched down towards Mimuro’s, making the blonde flush and moan as he felt something hard brush up against his leg. Nisei pulled away from the kiss a little.
“Feel good, Sempai?” He put emphasis on the last syllable.
“Mm…” Mimuro was at a loss for words, never having seen the younger so bold like this.
Back then when they could have called themselves a couple without the labels and the responsibilities attached to the term, Nisei was the quieter, reserved one and Mimuro was the more straight-forward one. Both of them had been barely teenagers when they met; Nisei being fourteen, and Mimuro half a year older at fifteen. It was strange how things had managed to change in only a little over four years’ time, if not more. He supposed it had something to do with Nisei meeting Seimei and letting his wilder side out thank to the little eared cretin. God, Mimuro hated that damn brat.
“What, nothing to say?” Nisei wondered. “That’s not fun.”
He nibbled on Mimuro’s bottom lip, making the blonde moan and thread his fingers through his dark, now loose hair. Nisei moaned at the feeling of Mimuro’s thin fingers brushing against his scalp, gently working out tangles he hadn’t been aware of when he brushed his hair for school that morning. It was odd, considering if there was one thing Nisei cared about, it was his hygiene and outward appearance. While his mind and heart were a stormy mess inside, he was rather collected on the outside.
It was a few minutes later when Nisei finally pulled away from the older boy.
“By the way, as far as protection goes, I don’t have any. You’ll have to deal with not using it.”
“I’m not concerned. Not like you’d have anything.”
“Or you, since you’ve never done anything.”
Mimuro rolled his eyes. “Shut up.”
“Make me.”
This time Mimuro was the one who stole the other’s words away by pressing their lips together. He gave his hips a little swing to flip them over so Nisei was now underneath him. He grabbed both the boy’s hands and held them up above his head with his left hand. His lips moved from the other’s to working across his cheek and down his neck. At the junction of his collarbone and neck, Mimuro bit down, relishing in the gasp that popped out of the lithe teen’s mouth as he arched his lower half up towards his best friend, and soon to be lover. Nisei’s fingers gripped gently at Mimuro’s wavy hair and gave it a tug to pull him away from his rather sensitive, pale skin.
“Too much…?” Mimuro wondered.
“Not at all.” Nisei caressed the side of his face. “I’ve missed you, you know…”
“I’ve missed you too.”
Mimuro nuzzled into the hand on his face before pulling away to continue a trail of kisses, nips, and licks down the other’s neck and past his collar bone. Nisei didn’t seem to protest much as he panted while Mimuro worked his way down. The blonde traced gently over an old scar with his free hand, and his tongue gently brushed against a bruise that was just beginning to fade. Nisei jumped slightly at that, probably still sensitive from whatever had hit him. Or whatever Seimei had hit him with. The thought made Mimuro growl as he moved on, placing a gentle nip on Nisei’s left hip bone, making the other start.
“Sempai!”
Mimuro wasn’t sure if that was a complaint or an encouragement. Either way, he ignored it and let go of Nisei’s hands that he had had trapped above the younger’s head. His fingers dipped gently into Nisei’s waistband and slipped them down narrow hips. Nisei moved his legs to help Mimuro slide them off without the bed stopping him. Mimuro’s eyes were closed as he felt Nisei pull his legs out of the garment, but opened a crack to take in the sight of the now naked Fighter underneath him. An emotionless killing machine he may have been, but now he looked like anything but. Pink flushed skin from a mix of arousal and embarrassment, lip being chewed on by its owner’s pearly teeth, eyes half closed in pleasure, Nisei was something out of only one of Mimuro’s most detailed sex dreams he’d had about the younger before. Sure, it had only been a few times before he left and more frequently between him leaving and returning, but the blonde had a feeling that they would cease now that he’d gotten to see the real thing.
Collecting himself, Mimuro leaned up to place a kiss just under his friend’s belly button before going back down to where he was between the younger’s legs. He let out a sigh that made Nisei shiver as the breath ghosted along his most sensitive body part. Mimuro made up with it by a kiss to the tip of the raven’s already slightly leaking head.
“Mm…” Nisei moaned.
Mimuro took that as a go ahead when Nisei’s eyes squeezed tight in pleasure, trying to force himself to not look his friend in the eye. With an inner monologue reminding himself that he’d been waiting for this with the raven for years and that he needed to hurry up and collect himself and get on with it before the younger got bored and changed his mind, he brushed hair behind his ear to keep it out of the way as he took the tip of the raven’s length into his mouth and gave it a gentle suck.
Nisei’s fingers dug into the blanket underneath him, scrunching the material up between his nimble fingers. It was clear it had been a while since anyone had touched him in such an intimate way. No surprise since he hadn’t dated anyone since the day he met Seimei, and the only way the youngest of the three teens knew how to touch him was using violence and punishment for failing or whatever other lame excuse he used in his mind to justify his mistreatment of his true Fighter. He was probably just as harsh with Agatsuma as he was with Nisei, but Mimuro didn’t really give a damn about the elder Fighter. After all, he’d dislocated Nisei’s finger before; the left middle finger bearing the name he shared with Seimei, and Seimei shared with both him and the elder blonde.
Mimuro sucked on the tip a few more times as he collected himself to move further down the raven’s length and take it further into his mouth. He knew he couldn’t take him too far down his throat since just eating and putting a utensil just a centimeter too far in his mouth activated his gag reflex, but he was determined to pleasure the raven as much as he could. After all, he’d been waiting four, almost four and a half, years for this.
Nisei moaned and bit into the arm he threw over his eyes. His other hand was still digging into the blanket, but when Mimuro looked up at him, he noticed the raven’s eyes were focused right on him, though his lids were almost closed. He smirked at his friend and made eye contact as he sucked harder, humming deep in his throat. The vibrations made Nisei arch up off the bed and moan.
“M-Mimuro…”
That was enough to make the blonde almost come in his pants right there. Nisei hardly called him by his first name, let alone with that lusty tone attached to it. One of Mimuro’s hands encircled the base of the Fighter’s cock where his mouth couldn’t reach and pumped him in time with his mouth bobbing up and down on the rest of it. His free hand went to his boxers and gripped his own erection gently through the fabric.
“S-Sempai…c-close…” Nisei panted, not even five minutes after Mimuro added his hand. “Don’t want…mouth…”
It looked like all conscious ability to speak words was slowly beginning to drain from the man who needed to use word spell to survive. How ironic.
Mimuro shrugged in response, not really caring if Nisei finished in his mouth or not. The Fighter finally came with a grunt and a thrust up of his hips a few seconds later. Salty warmth filled the Sacrifice’s mouth and he pulled off to swallow, gagging once as he did so. Nisei giggled a little at him from under his arm at that.
“I told you I didn’t want to finish like that…”
“It’s fine.” Mimuro wiped off his lips with the back of his hand. “I don’t mind.”
Nisei flushed. “Um…I’m not sure if I have any lubricant, or anything that would suffice, so…erm…”
“I’m not doing that dry…” Mimuro complained.
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Look at me, Sempai.” Nisei ordered, sitting up and gesturing to his numerous bruises and cuts. I’m no stranger to pain, and I’m a thousand percent certain I can take it.”
Mimuro leaned up and kissed the raven on the temple. “It’s cute that you think that, Nisei, really, but you and I both know it’s the most painful feeling you can suffer…from this kind of stuff, anyway. I really don’t want to hurt you. I’m not okay with that. I’m not Seimei…”
As much as Nisei may have wanted him to be, he wasn’t. And he’d never be like him. The day he was, he’d make Mei kill him with a spell or have him shipped off to a mental institution, considering she’d probably never kill him and had a tendency to disobey orders related to spells.
“I’m aware of that.” Nisei grunted, folding his arms over his chest. “If not having that is a deal breaker for you, then we’re not going to be able to go much further. You have saliva, if anything, do you not?”
“Yeah…?”
“Then use that. Because, honestly, I don’t want to stop, and I know full well you haven’t got off yet.”
“I…uh…”
Nisei chuckled, fingers gripping the waistband of Mimuro’s boxers to pull him closer, then letting go of it and letting the waistline slap against his lower stomach.
“Hey!” Mimuro complained.
Nisei laughed at him, pulling the blonde into a hug and kissing his lower lip.
“Sorry. I couldn’t help myself.” The fighter apologized, nuzzling into the crook of his friend’s neck.
“I-It’s fine…”
Nisei’s fingers found Mimuro’s boxers’ elastic again, but this time he moved to pull them off. Mimuro pulled the younger into a gentle kiss as his boxers were removed, shifting his body around to ensure they came off. Nisei tossed them to the floor as if he didn’t care, and he probably didn’t, and moved so he was on top of the blonde again; pushing Mimuro into the pillows as he deepened the kiss. One of his hands threaded through the blonde’s shorter hair while the other went down to gently grasp as his length. Mimuro moaned, arching into the warmth created by his almost lover’s hand. Nisei chuckled as he did so, enjoying how he was able to get such a response from the blonde so easily. He pulled away and offered Mimuro a couple of his fingers.
“Here. Suck.”
“Why…?”
“Because I have a saliva fetish.” Nisei rolled his eyes. “What do you think, dummy?”
“Oh…but shouldn’t I…?”
“If you want to…?”
“I do.”
Mimuro flipped so he was on top, capturing the raven’s lips between his. He made a trail of gentle butterfly kisses down the raven’s pale, hairless body down past his already hardening-again-member. He pressed a gentle kiss to the tip, and then to the sack underneath, before moving down further.
“S-sempai…?” Nisei wondered. “What do you think you’re doing? Can’t you just feel where you are…?”
“I could.” Mimuro agreed. “But then I couldn’t do this.”
His tongue gently flicked out against the raven’s puckered entrance. Almost instantly, Nisei’s action was rather loud and sudden. He let out a sound that sounded like a cross between a squeal and a moan as his body arched off the bed a little. His fingers dug into the bedspread again as Mimuro repeated the action, gently coating his entrance in saliva.
“Mimuro…”
Nisei let out a lusty moan again, making the blonde moan as he gently held Nisei’s legs apart and gently sucked on the skin between his rear and his balls. He wiggled his tongue slightly into the raven’s entrance, reveling in the choked sounds of pleasure coming from his companion and the warmth surrounding him. He offered Nisei two fingers on his left hand and the raven eagerly sucked them into his mouth; running his tongue along the appendages and coating them in saliva. Mimuro pulled his fingers out with a wet pop. He slid one along Nisei’s crack as he kissed a trail back up to the raven’s face. Halfway there, Nisei grabbed his face in both hands and pulled him over him into a kiss. Mimuro happily kissed back to take his mind off of potentially hurting the younger, because even though the Fighter was adamant about being able to tolerate pain, he really, really didn’t want to hurt him. As their mouths moved against one another and Mimuro smeared as much saliva as he could over Nisei’s entrance so it wouldn’t hurt when he started to stretch him, Nisei’s hands slipped and his arms wrapped around the blonde’s neck.
Mimuro’s finger gently prodded at his entrance before slipping in a little, making the raven moan into the kiss. He let the Fighter take a few seconds to get adjusted before pressing in further. Nisei’s nails raked trails down the blonde’s back, leaving slightly burning marks and angry red lines along the skin as he did so. Mimuro moaned and pressed his hips into Nisei’s, grinding their erections together as he began pumping in and out of the Fighter.
Nisei’s left hand fingers dug into Mimuro’s skin right under his shoulder blade. The blonde moaned, grinding himself against the younger as his second finger entered him unnoticed. It wasn’t long before his fingers were scissoring the raven’s puckered entrance, spreading him enough to take in something larger. Nisei moaned his name into his mouth as Mimuro’s fingers finally left him. Mimuro lined himself up with the raven’s entrance as he broke their kiss.
“Ready?” He wondered.
“No.”
“No?”
Nisei flipped them so he was on top again, straddling Mimuro’s hips as the blonde let out a surprised, strangled cry.
“What are you…?”
“Sh…”
Nisei grabbed his almost lover’s hard member and lined himself up.
“You can’t be serious…”
“Shut up.” Nisei ordered, kissing the blonde at the same time that his hips snapped down, impaling himself on the Sacrifice.
“Nisei!” Mimuro cried out, resisting the urge to push up into the tight heat.
“Ngh…” Nisei moaned, eyes squeezing shut in a mix of pleasure and pain as he forced himself all the way down.
“N-Not so fast…I don’t want you to…ah…hurt yourself…!” Mimuro complained.
“I told you, I can handle it. Let me control things from here, alright?”
“I…hm…”
Nisei smirked, opening one eye to peer down at his friend, knowing he’d won that argument. He leaned down to kiss the blonde’s lips once before sitting back up on his knees and removing his hand from Mimuro’s length.
“Ready…?” Nisei panted.
“For what…?”
“Just…just thrust up…please…” Nisei’s body was shaking as he gave the order, palms placed firmly on Mimuro’s chest to stop himself from falling down onto him.
“Uh…okay…count of three…”
“One…”
“Two…”
“Three.” They spoke at once.
Mimuro pushed up at the same time that Nisei pushed down, filling himself up with the entirety of the fleshy appendage.
“Sempai!” Nisei squealed, nails digging into the blonde’s chest.
Mimuro groaned, certain he was going to have a lot of scratches and marks to explain if someone saw him change in the locker room for gym, or his mother happened to catch him shirtless when on his way to shower or something. He wondered how Nisei managed to hide all his injuries in the locker room for gym earlier that day, but he didn’t dwell on it long as the raven began moving his hips, lifting off and pushing down onto him.
Mimuro’s hands gripped gently at Nisei’s hips, helping him move. He met the raven thrust for thrust, pleased when he managed to hit something inside him that made the raven call his name with that lusty tone again and practically fall down to lay chest to chest with him. Mimuro wrapped an arm around the hacker’s shoulders and held him close, continuously thrusting in and out of him and hitting the spot that made Nisei see stars and cry out his name.
“Mimuro…so close…so close…!” The raven called, moaning deep in his throat as Mimuro hit that spot inside him again.
“Me too…” Mimuro moaned. “God, you’re so good, Nisei…so good…”
The raven smirked, latching onto the blonde’s neck.
“Look whose t-talking…” He commented, nibbling gently on the flesh, only to bite harshly as Mimuro moved his hips down and deliberately missed that sweet spot inside of him.
“Mimuro…” Nisei growled out.
“Shut it.” Mimuro ordered, pulling the raven off his neck and slipping out of him.
“Are you freaking kidding me?” Nisei glared.
“I said shut it, Nisei. Don’t you listen to me?”
Mimuro flipped, pushing the raven onto his back. He gripped under the junior’s knees and pulled them up to bring his rear end up off the blankets.
“Bossy…I kind of like it…” Nisei smirked.
“Good…” Mimuro chuckled, lining himself up with the raven again and thrusting in.
Nisei moaned as his now lover filled him up again. Mimuro thrust into him again and again, hitting the spot inside of him that made Nisei arch his back and toss his head back with it. His legs wrapped around the blonde’s waist, heels digging into the base of his spine as he tried to meet the blonde thrust for thrust. Mimuro moaned, leaning forward to kiss the raven and almost bending him in half so he could keep his legs latched around him. The raven moaned as Mimuro hit that spot in him a few more times. White exploded behind the blonde’s eyes and he came with a shout of Nisei’s name and one final shuddering thrust of his hips. Mimuro thrust again, feeling Nisei close to the edge. After a couple minutes of thrusting and hitting that spot inside him, Nisei’s inner walls squeezed him for all he was worth as he came; splattering their stomachs with his essence as his entire body reacted to it.
His back arched with his head following, nails and heels dug into Mimuro’s back.
“Mimuro!” Nisei cried out, certain the neighbors three stories up could hear him. “I love you…!”
He was no doubt going to get some questions from residents tomorrow if any of them had been home to hear. Then again, he was rather certain his parents out in Kyoto could head him.
“I love you, too.” Mimuro kissed his left temple as the raven came down from his orgasmic high.
Nisei’s legs fell away and Mimuro pulled out of him with a pop. The blonde flopped down onto his back on the bed next to his lover.
“God damn…” The blonde managed to speak through shallow pants.
Nisei curled up against his side, squeezing him and rubbing apologetic circles on the blonde’s lower spine.
“I…erm…love…”
“I know. I love you, too.” Mimuro told him, pressing a gentle peck to his lips.
Nisei snuggled his head up under the blonde’s chin, enjoying the warmth between them. He yawned, warm breath ghosting against the blonde.
“You should call your mom so she doesn’t worry…” Nisei warned.
“I’ll call her later. I just want to lay here a little bit longer.”
“Okay.”
“If you’re tired, you can go to sleep.”
Chocolate eyes met green and Nisei smiled one of the few genuine smiles Mimuro had ever seen him give…well…anyone really. Not even Seimei got to see that. The sight made his heart melt.
“I might take you up on that…but I don’t want to trap you here all night…”
“It’s alright. I’ll call mother in a little bit and tell her I’m staying over.”
“Alright…”
“Goodnight, Nisei.”
“Goodnight…Mimuro…?”
“Hai?”
“Your ears are gone now…”
“I know.” Mimuro replied. “They started to disintegrate the moment we started. I could feel it…”
“And your tail?”
“That was less obvious, but it faded away towards the end.”
“Okay…” Nisei yawned, snuggling up against the Fearless Sacrifice, eyes slipping closed. “I hope your mother doesn’t kill you…”
“Trust me…she knows there was more between us this whole time…”
“We were never a thing…”
“Do you want to be?”
“A couple?” Nisei’s eye opened and he looked up at the other.
Flushing, Mimuro nodded. “I mean, I get it if you don’t, but…”
“Sempai?”
“Hai?”
“You’re the first man I’ve ever slept with…you know that, don’t you?”
“Um…no…?”
Nisei chuckled. “I suppose I had that coming.” He replied. “I’ve been thinking about it since I left Seimei…about coming back here to you…maybe starting over as something more…”
“Is that a yes…?”
“You could say that.” Nisei kissed the corner of his mouth. “Yes.”
Mimuro’s hand squeezed a pale hip. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Nisei closed his only open eye as both of Mimuro’s slid closed and they both slipped off into a peaceful slumber.

Mimuro was awoken later that night by his phone beeping in his jeans pocket. In his haste to get his new boyfriend into bed, he’d forgotten about it. He looked at the clock and noted that it was about seven at night. He practically flung himself out of bed, ignoring the cold of the hardwood floor under his feet, and grabbed his phone. His mother was calling, and a little icon on the top left of his phone said that she’d called before.
“Mom?” Mimuro wondered.
“Where are you?” She wondered. “Dinner’s at eight, I’ve been trying to get a hold of you.”
“I’m at Nisei’s.” Mimuro replied.
Silence.
“Honey, this obsession with trying to find him can’t be healthy…school got out around three…”
“No, I’m not trying to find him.” Mimuro denied. “He’s here. He came back today. Showed up at school like nothing was wrong and was confused as to why his parents were there cleaning out his locker.”
“He came home? Did he say where he was?”
“Backpacking in Europe. Said he had no cell service or he would have contacted me.”
“And you accept this?”
“Well, yeah, mom. I love him. I’m just happy he’s back now.”
“Well, I’m glad he’s back. Should I expect either of you to show up for dinner?” He could hear the smile in her words.
“I’ll probably just eat here.” Mimuro denied. “I’d come home and take him with me, but I’m not certain how well he can walk right now…I woke up when you called this time, but he’s not in the room.”
“Why wouldn’t he be able to…?” Realization must have dawned on her because she giggled. “Were you two careful…?”
“Yeah, mom, very.” He laughed. “Trust me, I wouldn’t do anything to put him in danger, and I’m sure he wouldn’t do the same to me.”
“Well, good.” She stated. “So…are you two…?”
“Yeah, mom, we are.”
“Wonderful. You need to bring him over for dinner this weekend. I’m sure he hasn’t eaten anything good in a while if he’s been backpacking in Europe for a year…”
“Yeah, I guess he got food at restaurants and stuff, but not a home cooked meal. Then again, he hasn’t had one of those since he moved out of his parents’ place…”
“Mm.” She agreed. “Well, I’m glad you’re safe. I’ll warn your father before you come home, alright?”
“Thanks…”
He’d probably lose his shit that Mimuro lost his ears so early, but that was his business. Hell, he was a month and a half away from being nineteen, Nisei was a couple months from being eighteen. They were both consenting adults. It wasn’t like he was thirteen and Nisei was twenty-one or the reverse, like Seimei’s brother Ritsuka and his boyfriend, respectively. His father would get over it. After all, he hadn’t been surprised when Mimuro came out half a year ago, but that was something slightly different. Only slightly.
“You’re welcome.” She stated. “Go, have fun with your boyfriend. Just don’t cripple the poor boy.”
“Mom!”
She laughed as she hung up. He shook his head, smiling, as he set his phone down and pulled on his jeans. He didn’t feel like worrying about boxers, and he was almost certain he wasn’t going to need either later anyway. He opened the door to Nisei’s bedroom and made his way into the living room. The bathroom door was open and he didn’t see Nisei inside. He was slightly shocked and highly irritated to find that Nisei’s apartment was empty.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Mimuro groaned.
He sighed and went into the kitchen to get water and spotted a note on the table written in Nisei’s sloppy handwriting.
Mimuro,
Don’t worry, I didn’t run off again. Promise. Just went to the store. Getting takeout for us, since I doubt you’re going home and honestly I don’t want you to. I’ve been alone so long, having some companionship is nice. Also, I’m stopping and picking up some lube. I know I can take pain, but god damn, you really did a number on me. Besides…I think we both know we’re not done for the night ;)
Sukidayo,
Nisei
Mimuro laughed, flopping into a kitchen chair, note in hand. Nisei’s name was signed with a little heart at the end of it. Only Nisei. He ran a hand through his hair, surprised for a few seconds when his fingers didn’t catch or brush on one of his ears. He grabbed the toaster and looked into it. Smiling at his earless reflection, he set the toaster down. Well, sitting in the kitchen wasn’t going to make Nisei come back quicker.
He went into the living room and dragged his backpack to the couch. Sitting, he opened it and pulled out a couple sheets of math homework he had to do for tomorrow.

About ten minutes after Mimuro woke up, Nisei used his buzzer key to open the front door to the apartment complex. In addition to the things he had mentioned in the note, he’d also grabbed a game he knew Mimuro was waiting for the release date of before he left with Seimei to apologize for being gone so long. And for the marks he’d left all over his neck. He’d examined him before he had gotten out of bed and, well, it would be hard to explain that to his mother later on. At least Nisei’s parents didn’t bother with him enough to notice or care, same with his brother. He rarely saw his sister; maybe once when she was on a field trip and he happened to pass her at the ice cream stand in the park.
One of his older neighbors and her son walked down into the lobby. She noticed him first, grinning.
“Nisei, you’re back!” She greeted. “Where in the world were you? Your brother was acting like you died last I saw him here.”
“I was backpacking in Europe and didn’t bother to tell my family, so they freaked.” Nisei replied.
“I thought we heard something in your apartment earlier.” Her son stated. “You got a girl over? Heard someone shouting.”
“No, I don’t. That was probably me.” Nisei flushed. “My boyfriend’s rather good.”
His jaw dropped a little but his mother laughed.
“That blonde fella that kept coming over while you were out?” She asked.
“Yeah, Mimuro.”
“Thought so. You two make a cute couple.” She stated. “Ryou, shut your mouth, you’re going to catch flies.”
Nisei laughed. “I don’t want dinner to get cold, so I best be going.” Nisei bowed a little. “Oyasumi.”
“Oyasumi.” The mother and son spoke at once, passing him.
“Oh, and Ryou?”
“Yeah…?” He looked back at Nisei. “What is it?”
“You going to be here later tonight?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Then while you’re out, you might consider getting some earplugs. As you can tell, being subtle isn’t exactly our thing.” He winked, laughing at the look on the older male’s face.

Mimuro was done with his math and about to start on some history when the front door to the apartment opened. Nisei waltzed in, wearing his dark jeans low on his hips and his long white coat, open to show his bare chest and a couple scratches.
“Are you insane?” Mimuro wondered. “I know those need air to heal, but come on. In public?”
“Oh, relax, no one noticed.” Nisei led him into the kitchen, setting the takeout on the table. “I like you without your ears. Cute.”
Mimuro flushed. “You should like it. You’re the one who took them.”
“More like you gave them to me…and gave them to me good.” Nisei winked. “Get my note?”
“Hai, hentai, I did.” Mimuro laughed, pulling Nisei into a hug and kissing his cheek. “Thanks for dinner. Mom called. I told her I’m staying the night…if you don’t mind.”
“If you read my note, then you’d know I don’t.” Nisei shook his head. “What did you tell her exactly…?”
“That you came back, you’re my boyfriend, and I doubt you can walk well.”
“Jerk.” Nisei complained. “How was she about it…?”
“Fine. Wants you to come over this weekend for dinner. Said she thinks you probably haven’t eaten well since you were backpacking in Europe.”
“Ah, so you remember my cover. Good. I don’t like having to keep up with multiple stories to explain the same thing.”
“Same. Though one would think you were used to lying to cover up shit, since you work for Seimei and all.”
“I don’t work for Seimei, I’m his slave.”
Mimuro frowned. “I know.” He kissed his boyfriend’s lips gently. “I wish I could free you from him…”
“Yeah, well, for now, I’m pretty free. I mean, he doesn’t want shit to do with me.”
“Until he needs you again.”
Nisei frowned. “Can we stop talking about him? It’s killing my mood.”
“Now you know how I feel any time I think about him…”
Nisei chuckled. “Come on, food’s getting cold.” He stated.
“Right.”
“Ran into my neighbor, the elderly one I helped out one time with groceries?”
His father had been there helping him move into the apartment and had made him. She’d been looking out for him ever since.
“Oh yeah? What she say?”
“Welcome back. Her son was with her. Thought I had a girl over. I had to explain that was me…”
Mimuro chuckled. “Sorry.”
“You’re going to pay for that.”
“Oh?” Mimuro caught the challenge. “I thought dinner was getting cold.”
“It will be quick.” Nisei smirked. “I’ll even give you a minute head start.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” Nisei chuckled. “You kind of just wasted it, though.”
“You said a minute…”
“Even before I left, you knew I was failing math.”
Mimuro laughed, running off towards the bedroom. Nisei laughed as well, quickly giving chase as he shed his jacket and tossed it onto the couch.
Eventually, Seimei would come back for him. He knew that. And he wouldn’t be happy that Nisei and Mimuro were sleeping together now; he’d always hated the blonde, since he was the only one Nisei would defy him or argue with him for. But while he was waiting around for the inevitable and familiar tug at his heart and soul saying Seimei was calling him through their bond to come to him, he was perfectly content with chasing away thoughts of Seimei with Mimuro in his bed.
