“Ninja boy,” growled Garou.
“So, you’re the human monster that I’ve heard stories about,” chuckled a cheeky Sonic.
“That is me. Who the fuck has been saying shit?”
“Uh,” Sonic smirked at the angry male, he thought about who to blame this on. “I heard Saitama saying stuff about you,” he remarked with a chuckle. He pinned this on Saitama as Sonic wanted the strongest hero ever to get crushed.
Grabbing Sonic by that purple scarf, Garou yanked the ninja prick closer to him. “Nice try, ninja.”

Long story short, when Genos finally caught up to the ninja, he wound up taking care of Sonic instead of hurting him. He didn’t kill him.
And Sonic thought it was strange. He was always up for a fight.

With Sonic sitting on his shoulders, Genos carried the troubled ninja back to his apartment in Z-City. At least the rent was cheap in this town. Sonic was slouched on Genos’ head on the way back home, and it almost seemed as though Sonic was sleeping. But he wasn’t. Sonic was just grumbling to himself.
He knew what was bound to happen.
Genos wasn’t impressed with him at all. And he knew why.
“You remember the fight that almost broke out between you and that hero hunter?” Genos questioned Sonic. “And when I found you on the floor, I couldn’t just kill ya.”
“Oh, you remember that?” Sonic smirked at the question Genos gave, but it did make Sonic think. “Why didn’t you kill me then? You had every opportunity to kill me.”
“Nah, that would be too easy. You were vulnerable and I don’t wanna kill someone that can’t get back up,” admitted Genos. Even though Genos was carrying Sonic on his shoulders, he still glanced up at the younger male as he spoke.
“Garou...he turns into a crazy demon when he wants to fight,” remarked Sonic. It was a hypocritical comment but Sonic still said it. “I get it. You didn’t want to be a scavenger.”
“It took a lot of strength and energy to stop Garou’s final blow on you,” he mentioned with a soft cackle. “You were just lucky that I cared enough not to actually break you.”
Reaching their desired destination, Sonic hopped off Genos’ shoulders as soon as they arrived at the cyborg’s apartment. As soon as the door opened, Genos gripped onto Sonic’s slender wrist and pulled him inside. The cyborg pushed the snarky ninja against the wall without delay.
“Besides, why did you even approach Garou?” Genos complained. He crossed his metal arms over his chest. Genos glared at Sonic, not really sure what to say or think.
“He approached me first!” Sonic spat. “He tried to pitch a fight with me!”
“Heh,” smirked Genos. “Yeah, I’ve always seen you jumping around the city. I just think it’s funny how he caught up with you before I did.”
Not bothering to respond to Genos, the ninja just silently glared back. His black eyebrows furrowed at the comment Genos gave. He grumbled and pushed Genos away from him. “Then why did you bother nursing me back to health?” Sonic asked Genos, finally coming up with something to say.
“Good question,” he thought. Genos didn’t want to grab Sonic’s purple cape as he didn’t want the ninja to get any flashbacks from his fight with Garou, so Genos decided to grab Sonic by those round hips instead. He pulled the ninja closer. “If you actually listened to what I said, I didn’t want to hurt you since you were already too weak for it. I want to fight something...not crush something that’s already been hit so many times.”
“And now that I’m healthy again, you just wanna hold me instead? I feel your hands in places they shouldn’t be touching...yet I want them to stay there,” he answered with a little blush dusting on his cheeks. Sonic bit onto his bottom lip...hard.
“Admit that you lost the fight,” pushed Genos. “You’re not the big shot you make yourself out to be, are you?”
“Does Saitama know about this? I wonder what his reaction would be to you grabbing my hips like this,” purred Sonic with a soft chuckle in his voice.
Pulling away from Sonic’s waist, Genos let his hands rest by his sides now as he just grimaced at Sonic’s comment. “If you tell him anything, I swear that’ll be the end of you,” threatened Genos. “Keep this a secret between us, yeah?”
“I was kidding,” answered Sonic with a whine. Sonic placed his hands onto Genos’ metal shoulders, as the ninja coyly looked away from the other male. “I-I’m sorry if I went too far,” he actually apologised for once.
Genos gave the shy Sonic a small smile.
“You’re annoying but I can’t stay annoyed at you,” chuckled Genos.
“Don’t tease me like Garou does, please ,” the ninja pursed his lips shut.
