Author�s notes : Well, I have nothing to say for once. I can�t risk giving my plot away ne ?. ^_^ Just know that I don�t own the ronins or the warlords. Beside it�s yaoi so if you don�t like, go away now and don�t flame me please.

Chapter 1 :

"Where is he ?!"

Ryo almost screamed as he cut through the thick vegetation surrounding him in blind fury with his katanas. Rowen sighed from behind him and took his head into his hands in a "what I�m going to do with you Ryo Sanada" way.

"Ryo, I already told you, we are doing our best ! I know that you want to find Sage as soon as possible but that damn warlord�s surekill has thrown him so far that it�s st ist impossible to know where he is in that fucking forest, so for God�s sake calm down !"

Ryo gave one last vicious blow in the air and sighed.

"I would like to calm down Rowen, really, but I�m worry about Sage. I can�t help it. What if the warlords found him before us ?"

"If we can�t found him I highly doubt that they will Ryo. And please stop blaming yourself would you ? It�s not doing any good and you know it."

Cye said from his spot, no more than three feet away, where he was equally busy looking for their missing friend. They were all looking for Halo since the morning now. They had been separated during their earlier encounter with the warlords when Cale had thrown his surekill at an unaware Sage, who was healing a wounded Ryo, making the blond fly backward and fall somewhere in the forest and since the blonde still hadn�t showed up.

That�s why Ryo was feeling responsible now. He was worried about Sage, knowing that if the blonde was conscious he would have came back by now. It was his duty as a leader to protect his fellows warriors, but there was something else as well that pushed him to protect Halo, even more than the others. And if Ryo was many things, he sure as hell wasn�t blind.

/I lovm. Im. I still don�t know why or how but I know I love him. Don�t worry Sage, I�m coming, hold on !/

At the same time, somewhere deep inside the forest, a blonde teen was waking up. Confuse, he blinked and tried to sit up but he quickly gasped at the pain in his chest and closed his eyes against the dull headache that was pounding in his skull.

ww, ww, what the hell had happened ? And why I�m hurting like this ?/

The teen attempted to calm his breathing and heart beating, then tried to feel if he had anything broken but his hand met cold metal instead of flesh. Alarmed, he quickly opened his eyes and bit back a scream of surprise.

He was wearing a green sort of metal suit on his body that look like nothing he had already seen before. The blonde was slightly afraid now, and decided he should better run and just go home.

That�s when it hit him. He didn�t know where was his home. No, let reformulate it, he didn�t know if he HAD a home at all. Completely freaked out, the blonde suddenly realized something that frightened him even more. He didn�t know who he was either. And thinking of it, he didn�t remember anything about his life at all. He was amnesic.

/Ok, calm down, don�t panic, just� don�t. Oh my god ! What I�m going to do ?!/

The blonde teen was almost hyperventilating by now, the shock was simply too much for him. At last he raised himself to his feet shakily and noowinowing what to do, walked right in front of him like a robot, his eyes not really seeing where he was going.

He was way too much into his thought to notice the end of the path obviously, and was more than surprised when his feet touched emptiness and when he started to fall.

He came rushing down all the way to the bottom of the small cliff and in an eye blink, he was in a totally different place than the one he was before, but it was kinda hard to tell where he was with that dizziness that didn�t want to go away.

When his head stopped spinning, he managed to adjust his vision and saw a small lake in front of him, surrounded by trees and wild flowers.

/Well I�m lucky somehow. I�m thirsty. Look like that fall help me to clear my thought. Good. But I still don�t know what I�m going to do�/

Finally able to stand, the young blonde get up, walked to the lake, kneeled at the shore and take a little water in his hands then drank. Feeling better afterward, he was about to leave when he caught a glimpse of his reflection on the water. He had pale ivory skin, deep lavender eyes and long golden hair that fall over his right eye.

The blonde stared at his reflection for a second then burst into tears. He let himself fall on the ground, his legs not being able to support him any longer and wrapped his arms around his knees, pulling them against his chest. He buried his face in his knees, not caring about the cold metal in which he was still clothed and cried softly.

He was still crying when he heard a noise coming from the forest behind him, startling him and making him raise his head in sudden panic. What he saw confuse him even more, and did little to soothe the scared young blonde.

A man was standing not far away and was watching him, but it wasn�t what was frightening the boy. What caught the blonde�s attention was the scar the man had under his left eye and the fact that he was wearing a black and grey armor. Absently he noticed that the man had unusual wild dark blue hair, a lighter shade than his eyes though.

"My, isn�t that Halo ? It�s really my lucky day. What�s wrong ? And why are you crying ? Did you get lost ?"

The man asked with a cold sort of smile that sent shivers down the blonde�s back, though he couldn�t explain why. Then the full meaning of the man�s words came crashing down on him.

The man had called him Halo.

/Did that mean he knows me ?/

The blond dried his tears before getting up and facing the blue hair stranger.

"Who are you ? And why did you called me Halo ? Do I know you ?"

The blue hair man stared at him in what seem complete shock for a full minute before speaking again.

"You mean that you don�t remember me ?"

Somehow, he didn�t seem as scary as before. The blonde shook his head.

"No. I� I just wake up ten minutes ago and I� I didn�t remember anything at all. I don�t even know who I am�"

The last words came in a small sob and the blonde quickly wiped his face in a attempt to held back his tears. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder and he raised his head, only to gaze into the deep blue eyes of this strange man.

"Well, it seem that you have lose your memory. But it doesn�t matter. You are lucky that I found you. Oh and you�re right, I do know you. We are friends. I�m Cale. I guess we will just have to go back to the nether realm together."

The man said before walking back toward the forest, pulling the boy behind him.

"Wait, you said the nether realm ? What is it ? And you didn�t tell me why you called me Halo, is that my name ?"

Cale smirked.

"No, your true name is Sage. Halo is your armor�s name."

Sage blinked.

"My armor ?"

"Yes, don�t worry about it, you will learn soon enough believe me."

Cale replied then stayed silent for the rest of the walk, though he certainly didn�t stopped thinking.

/I can�t believe it ! The gods must have blessed me. First I beat Halo and now I found him amnesic in the forest. Talpa will be please ! Though it would be nice to have Halo fighting with us. The look on that damn ronins�s face will be priceless ! Maybe I should talk about it to Talpa� Halo is sure submissive enough to be manipulate easily. He is so fragile and unsure right now. It will be almost too easy./

Cale kept thinking about his new found prey until he reach the gate to the nether realm that he had used to come in the first place. At this point he stopped to glance at Sage who was looking both afraid and curious. Smirking, Cale opened the doors to the nether realm and disappeared into it with Sage.

When the doors closed behind them, the daylight seemed to dull and to lose of it�s brightness all of a sudden, as if weeping for the loss of it�s child.

Ryo suddenly stopped his walk, feeling something deep inside his heart that send shivers down his spine and turned his blood to ice cold.

"Did you feel it ?"

He asked to his fellow warriors.

Rowen tilted his head to the side.

"I think I feel something, but I�m not sure. It�s� it�s like a channel on TV that doesn�t work any longer. You feel something, but there is nothing�"

But Ryo wasn�t listening to his friend.

/It�s Sage ! I�m sure it�s him ! I have completely lose the mental link with him now. Before it was still here, just weak and confused, but now it�s a total blackout ! Something must have happened. Please Sage, be ok !/

Ryo turned to his friends, a hard expression on his face.

"Guys, we need to find Sage quickly. I think something wrong has happened to him. Let�s go !"

The others three ronins nodded and followed their leader, determinate to save their missing friend.

Talpa was not happy. Really not, and it wasn�t his day.

/Damn those warlords ! They are not even able to success in a simple work such as killing the ronins correctly ! And Cale didn�t even came back yet ! If he doesn�t have a good reason for disobeying me, I will give him the spanking of his life !/

As Talpa was having random thought of mr, Br, Badamon, the great Ankoku priest, appeared out of nowhere and approached his lord cautiously.

"Master, your warlord Cale is back from his earlier mission."

"At last ! It was time he show up. Bring him to me this instant !"

"Err, Master, your warlord seems to have a surprise for you with him."

Talpa raised an eyebrow then smirked.

"Really ? How interesting. Let�s see what kind of surprise our servants have for us."

Badamon bowed and disappeared. On sec second later, Cale stepped into the throne room with a frightened Sage behind him. Talpa�s eyes widen as he gazed at Sage, then he looked at his warlord.

"I hope you have an explanation for this Cale."

Cale kneeled then talked, grinning from ear to ear.

"Yes Master. During the fight against the ronin warriors Sage got injured and lose his memories. I simply took him back with us, where he belong."

Talpa raised from his throne.

"Really ?"

"Yes Master."

Talpa used his mental link with his warlord and smiled evilly. Cale was saying the pure true. Sage had really got injured and lost his memories. A quick scan of his unprotect mind confirmed it to Talpa.

The bliss ! Now he had a ronin at his mercy and even better, he could use him against his friend. Sage will believe whatever lies Talpa or his warlords will choose to feed him. Talpa almost laughed at the irony of the situation.

"Very good Cale. You will takr frr friend to his room and take care of him. Make sure that he remember his life with us. He is under you responsibility from now on. And if his amnesia is as bad as I think, he will need some training. It will also be your work Cale."

"Yes Master"

Cale said, still grinning. Then he get up and took Sage by the arm and he disappeared with him into another part of the castle.

When his world stopped spinning, Sage noticed that he was no longer in the throne room but in a traditional japanese room. A futon was in a corner of the room, looking soft and inviting.

The rest of the furniture was equally inviting if a little dark, choose with style and managing not to look snob. Cale had let go of him and he stepped back a little, still a little edgy somehow around that strange man.

"So what now ?"

He asked, not liking the silence of the room and shifting nervously on his feet.

"Now you are in your room. You should rest now. The battle took a lot of you and it will be no use if you drop of exhaustion tomorrow while we trained."

Sage looked at Cale with a little surprise.

"You are going to train me ?"

"Yes. It�s Talpa�s orders. Talpa is our master and you must obey him, not matter what he asks of you, is that clear ?"

Sage just nodded, not liking the idea of obeying that strange man in armor but not feeling like arguing right now.

"Very good."

Cale said with a grin. Then he turned and made his way to the door when he stopped and looked at Sage.

"Oh, a last thing, if you need anything, just call my name and I will come. Do not try to explore the castle by yourself now, you will only get lost, this castle is like a maze."

Sage nodded once again and Cale left the room, leaving Sage to think about his new found �family�.

"I can�t believe it !"

Ryo screamed while pounding his fist against the table. The others stepped back a little, wincing at the pure rage in their leader�s voice. Saying that Ryo was mad at the moment was the understatement of the century.

"I can�t believe that we lost Sage ! We were four ! How could we let that happen ? !"

He said. Mia, starting to be worry, caught his arms before he could destroy anything and tried to calm him down.

"We don�t know that for sure Ryo, so please cool off a little ok ? I will see if I can find anything on my computer to help you."

Ryo sighed and ran his hand through his hair in a silent apology.

"Ok, thanks Mia."

The auburn hair girl just smiled and took Ryo�s arm, pulling a very puzzled ronin behind her as she left the living-room.

"What ?"

He asked when Mia let go of him. She just looked at him with a soft look in her eyes before speaking.

"I�m not dumb Ryo, I know why you are so worry about Sage. You love him right ?"

Ryo just blushed and looked down at his feet.

"Am I that bad ?"

She smiled.

"For me, yes. I�m a woman remember ? And Ryo please, stop blaming yourself ok ? You did all that you could do and I�m sure that Sage is ok. We will find him so stop worrying, promise me ?"

Ryo watched her as if he was seeing her for the first time, surprised by her wisdom then grinned.

"Ok ! But Mia, are you� I mean are you ok with it ? Me being in love with Sage ?"

Mia laughed and hit him playfully on the arm.

"Of course you idiot ! I wouldn�t be there talking to you right now if I wasn�t."

Ryo laughed as well while hiding from Mia.

"You got me there. You are right, as usual. Thanks again Mia."

He said, then winked at her and walked back to his room. There he throw himself on his bed without bothering to strip of his clothes, he was too tired to care anyway and closed his eyes. He twisted on the bed for a couple of minutes and fell asleep, still thinking of his blonde love.

****

At the same time somewhere in the Dynasty, Sage was also falling asleep, exhausted by the latest events, through none of the two boys knew it.

Unknown of the two boys, Fate was ready to strike once again into their life...
