Once Friends, Soon Lovers

{Author\'s Note: Well here it is a better version of Once Friends, Soon Lovers. Sorry for causing you guys problems. I hope you guys enjoy this. I went back to using the Japanese name of the characters because I like them better and I\'m used to them. As you guys know this takes two years after the battle with Galaxia so the ages are:

If you\'re wondering why Motoki is in here when he had no magical powers. Well lol I have some things in store for him.

Pairings: Makoto/Seiya (main focus though), Yaten/Minako, Ami/Taiki, Mamoru/Usagi, Haruka/Michiru, Motoki/ Kakyuu.}

Summary: Makoto\'s thinking about Seiya and their friendship, she lost him once will she let it happen again? Will she be able to tell him how she feels before he leaves again? Or will the new enemy split their relationship.

laimlaimer: All characters within the story belong to Naoko Takeuchi. I only own the villains who will be appearing later.


Chapter One

Makoto leaned against the walls of the Hikawa temple listening to the noise around her. She sighed as she thought of the one man that she let go, Kou Seiya. It had been two years since she had last seen him and since then she had grown. She closed her eyes, secretly wishing that he were back. They hadn\'t gotten along together much in the beginning, but after the argument they had, he asked for her forgiveness and she forgave him. That was when she started developing feelings for him.

Makoto ran after Seiya. He had just made Usagi cry and she wasn\'t about to let Haruka have the enjoyment of taking out the singer. Makoto growled softly to herself as she finally caught up with him.

\"What the hell\'s your problem?\" she yelled gaining his attention. Seiya glared at the tall brunette. \"This doesn\'t concern you.\" He turned his attention back to the lake in front of him. Makoto puffed up her cheeks in anger. \"None of my concern! It becomes my concern when a jerk makes my best friend cry!\" she shouted walking closer to him.

He seemed to be ignoring her. Makoto became more frustrated and grabbed his shirt pulling him up to face her. His head was bowed so she couldn\'t see his face. \"Kou you really are a jackass you know that. How could you make Usagi cry? I thought you cared about HER!\" she screamed in his face.

He growled and pushed her away from him. \"SHUT UP! You have no fucking idea what\'s going on Kino.\" Makoto\'s eyes widen in shock, she quickly glared at himcovecover up her feelings. \"Enlighten me then. I want to know why you made my friend cry. You should feel lucky. If I had been Ruka-chan I would have already beat to to the brink of death. I\'m at least giving you a chance to explain yourself before I do that.\"

Seiya glared at her. His temper was quickly growing and he wasn\'t going to stand for any of this. He didn\'t have to explain himself to someone he barely knew. \"Listen I don\'t have to explain myself to some nosey bitch that acts like a guy.\" Once those words left his mouth, Seiya quickly regretted it.

SLAP

Seiya had his hand on his throbbing cheek. He looked up into Makoto\'s eyes shocked. She was crying. Tears streamed down her face to her chin, she as breathing deeply, glaring at him. \"You fucking asshole…you have no right to say that when you know nothing about me.\" She whispered before she ran off to her apartment.

Seiya just stood there shocked rubbing his sore cheek. \'Even if I was angry with her I went to far saying that. Damn that girl can hit.\' He let his thoughts rest and ran after her.

Makoto had run the entire way to her apartment. She slammed the door closed behind her and fell onto her couch crying. \'The jerk, he had no right to sayse tse things about me. I\'m not nosey.\' She wiped the tears that were falling down her face away. \'He doesn\'t know anything about me.\' She lay there crying.

A couple minutes late she heard a knock on the door. \"Who\'s there?\" she asked her voice raspy from all of the cry she had been doing. \"It\'s Seiya. Please let me in.\"

\"Go away!\"

\"Makoto please let me apologize I didn\'t mean what I said. Your right I don\'t know you but I\'d like to get to know you. Please…\" he begged from the other side of the door.

Makoto sighed she quickly wiped away the fresh tears and walked to the door and opened it. Seiya stood there shuffling from side to side. \"Come in.\"

Seiya looked up and walked in after her. \"I\'m sorry for making you and Odango cry.\" He said after he had seen her tear stained cheeks. Makoto shrugged, \"Things happen.\" She said in a rather harsh tone.

\"Sit and we can talk.\" She pointed to the squared table in the dining room. Sitting across from each other, Seiya apologized once more and told her things about himself in exchange for learning about her.

She never told anyone but after that day she had hung out with him more and her feelings for him grew. Now that he was gone she didn\'t know what to do. She felt that she should have told him about how she felt before he had left, but now she had lost her chance. She was trying to figure out a way to forget about him before the others learned about her feelings for him. Haruka would give her hell.

\"MAKO-CHAN!\" Makoto\'s eyes snapped open and she found herself staring into two pair of blue orbs. She quickly jumped away surprised only to see Usagi and Minako rolling on the floor laughing.

\"What were you thinking about? Dreaming of your ex-boyfriend?\"

Makoto growled as she glared at the older blonde and slapped her hard across the face. \"No, Haruka I wasn\'t now leave me alone!\" Makoto walked to the doors sliding them open before glaring at the girl one last time. She slammed the doors behind her.

The others stared in shock at the door. Makoto had never yelled at or hit Haruka before. Haruka touched her cheek regretting saying anything. Hotaru stared at the spot her sister once stood. She sighed and ran after her. \"Hotaru where are you going?\" Hotaru didn\'t turn back she continued to run out of the temple but yelled, \"To see what\'s wrong with my sister.\"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(At Juuban Park)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Makoto continued to run until she reached the lake in the middle of the park. She sat down leaning back against a tree staring out into the lake. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she brought her knees to her chest, lying her head down on them. Her body shook as her cried softly.

Hotaru sighed as she hid behind a tree that was only three feet away from her sister. She watched as Makoto cried. Hotaru wanted to run up to her and hug her with all her might telling her everything was going to be okay but she knew that Makoto needed some time alone. She was about to leave when she saw a bright light appear at the bank of the lake near her sister. Hotaru\'s henshin pen appeared in her hand in case she needed to transform.

Three shadows walked out of the light. Hotaru\'s eyes widen as she recognized the three figures. One of the shadows walked towards Makoto\'s crying form placing a hand on her shoulder. \"Don\'t cry Koto-chan. What\'s wrong?\"

Makoto\'s head shot up colliding with the person\'s jaw. \"OW!\" She heard laughter coming from her side. She stared into the person\'s sapphire eyes then jumped up wrapping her arms around the man\'s neck hugging him tightly \"Seiya, you\'re back.\" She let go of him and rubbed her eyes. \"Are you ok? I didn\'t mean to do that.\"

\"Yeah I\'m fine and we\'re all back.\" Seiya said with a smile. \"Why?\" Makoto asked curiously. \"Why don\'t you want us here?\" Seiya pretended to pout. Makoto giggled before she shook her head \"No it isn\'t that it\'s just that I\'m curious as to why you\'re back and not on your planet.\"

Yaten smiled \"Seiya made us come. He was getting bored at home and wanted to see some girl.\" Seiya blushed. \"Oh\" she said softly trying to hide her disappointment. Seiya glared at his brother before turning his attention back to Makoto \"We came so that we could see you guys again. We missed it here.\" Makoto forced a smile. \"Yeah well why don\'t you go and visit the rest of them their at Rei\'s temple.\"

The Kou brother\'s started to walk away after they said goodbye to her. Seiya turned to see if she was following \"Aren\'t you coming with us?\" Makoto shook her head \"No, I don\'t want to go back yet. I slapped Haruka and she might be mad at me. I just need some time alone right now. I\'ll stop by later.\" \"You have some guts girl.\" Yaten said before he was poked in the ribs and pulled away by Taiki. Seiya hid the disappointment in his voice \"Ok I\'ll see you later Koto-chan.\" He smiled and ran afhis his brothers.

Makoto sighed and looked at the tree a few feet away from her. \"You can come out now Hotaru.\" Hotaru slowly came into view. \"Are you alright Mako?\" Makoto turned away from her younger sister \"I don\'t know. I\'ve been getting these weird feelings lately. It feels like were going to tested or something.\" Hotaru nodded \"You feel it to. I know we have to tell the others so that we\'re prepared when the time comes.\" Makoto nodded.

\"Mako-chan do you like Seiya?\" Makoto was taken back by Taru\'s question. \"Umm...of course not Taru. He\'s just a friend nothing more.\" Hotaru looked unconvinced \"but then why did you not tell me you were friends with him and his brothers. You made everyone think you were enemies.\" Makoto sighed \"Right now Taru I don\'t know what\'s going on we just have to wait and see.\" Makoto smiled before ruffling the younger girl\'s hair and walked back to their apartment.
