I'm sad on Touya's behalf for finding out that he is only Yue's replacement for the stag. I think Touya might escape the castle because he has just learnt of that from Yue and isn't feeling very loved about it. I hope Yue starts to show Touys what he really means to him instead of trying to mould Touya into a stag or Clow model. If I was Touya I'd be seriously considering whether I was truly being loved or not!! That would be enough incentive for me to escape!!
But if Sakura refuses to go with Touya will he chose not to go too? I hope not!!! After all this time he deserves the chance to run away to clear his head and have the choice to go back to the castle or not to go back. I hope Sakura doesn't screw that up for him!

Okay, thank you for the permission to freak out! Otherwise, you might have been very upset with the reviews that you are undoubtably going to get for this. MAybe i should go through my emotions in this step by step. I didn't honeslty think it was a dream sequence, though it was more of a vision or a ghostly premonitiony wierd thing, but simply a game of hide and go seak. Personally, I would love to search through the castle to find Yue hidden in the pantry next to a loaf of bread. Or maybe he's hiding behidn the blinds in the library. And if we're REALLY lucky, he may be waiting naked in the tub, but i think that would take Touya a while to figure out. Okay, enough with the silliness. I really did like this chapter, especially the interplay between Clow and Touya. Its amazing how much denial is going on, and if i were clow, i'd probably be an obnoxious jerk and point out the fact that I did know all of that stuff. It doesn't help that Yue is refusing to fill him in on the situation. But to do such horribly things to Touya is certainly not a nice thing to do. I would hate to be toyed with, to know that my existance is nothing more than an act of 'magic and skill' that some bored old wizard decided to conjure up. It kinda takes away a good portion of a persons willingness to live with the thought that it doesn't matter what you do, because its probably ordained anyway. him and Yue are coming off as more of a pair though. And seriously, Stag Touya is equally to Stag James Potter as the commercial for the next harry potter book playd in the background. Though, I like Touya better than James anyway.

I gotta go to bed...loved the chapter XD

    *freaks out on cue*

I'd make all kinds of theories here, but really i just want to sit back and see where this goes.
personally though, i don't think touya will make an 'escape' attempt, at least not right away.
there's too many things holding him at the castle, not least of which is the fat that sakura's still there, and he would not leave without her...

anyway, here's to your next excellent chapter!

all this time I've been wanting to leave a review but haven't as my beloved laptop was imprisoned (I've been getting ym Pleasure Slave fix from a very good friend who loves me and mails me the chapters so they seem worksafe and I'm able to read them on another (not mine) computer). Anyway, needlessly complicated electronics situation aside, I LOVE THIS FIC! It's kept me (nearly) sane these long barren months without anything good to do or read. I totally got the Ai no Kusabi-esque air of it (and actually when I got my laptop back just now I watched the smexing scene from AnK and could totally see Yue and Touya in Iason and Riki's places). Anyway, I just read this last chapter and wanted to begin screaming ut it's nearly 3 am and I don't think the rest of my family will take too kindly to the noise. Some nice and complicated things are going on, you've kept me hooked for this long (a great feat as my attention span is not so great), I'm greatly anticipating the next chapter.

yeah. that was a brilliant cliffy.

"are we?" yue asked gently. "fighting?"
    -the best line ever

your characters are downright charming! and it seems that your story is about to end any chapters now. i think this is the climax already (of course, i can be wrong). if ever touya run away.. i dont think yue will run after him... he will to heartbroken to. and, sakura's running away will benefit syaoran.. at least he would not buy her from yue anymore. he will simply quit his job, fistfight with touya, convince sakura to elope with him.. and they will live happily ever after.

    questin though, will kaho appear?

I don't believe I have reviewed your story yet, and for that I apologise.
Well, that end was quite a twist. I admit that I did predict it, but I had no idea how Touya would find an escape route, not until this chapter (37) when Touya began to grow anxious as he walked down the tunnel, then I realized what this might mean for him. As pointed out, he would have at least a basic knowledge of castle's hidden passages so as to find an escape sooner or later, because he certainly wasn't going to just walk through the main gates. I'm very interested in finding out what will take place next, as one would think that Touya would go and find Sakura straight away (I have a hunch already, but in case I'm wrong or I might unintentionally ruin it for others, I'll keep it to myself).

I appreciate you not having Yue realize he's in love yet; I hadn't thought about it until Clow said it, but that would have definitely been even more cliché having Yue admit to Touya that he is madly in love with him, now that they are on almost 'equal' terms. Though I'm a total romantic and never would have complained for an instant, it'll be more interesting if you don't do it yet. They don't seem to be up to that 'stage' yet. Though you're a wonderful writer, so you could make even the clichés work nicely.

Yue is wonderfully three-dimensional, which is something many writers fail to achieve when writing Yue. He is extremely calm and likes being in control and not easy to anger (as shown in his patience with Touya, though sometimes, admittedly, he has snapped). He strikes me as being a 'gentle giant' deep within, and from your forays into his thoughts he most certainly holds his affection for Touya on a pedestal, even if he does not consciously think it. On top of that, Yue is so insecure about his standing with Touya, an example is in his uneasiness when he first asked Touya for a kiss; fear of rejection; despite being much more powerful than Touya physically, he is rather insecure mentally. Even though he was guaranteed to win their Archery contest, he still asked Touya to make a choice; he asked Touya for his prize (the kiss). And I'm sure he would have then respected that choice even if it broke his heart. If, however--and here I am paraphrasing from another fic--Touya asked Yue for the world, I have no doubt that Yue would immediately conquer it in his slave's name. I'd be willing to bet that Yue would kill for Touya.
Though perhaps Yue isn't a violent creature. Didn't you say once that he disliked violence? I can't recall--maybe I'm imagining it, since he did whip Touya, after all. If nothing else, that's how your descriptions of him have made me view him; despite his obvious power, he has never used it against anyone. I recall Tomoyo even saying that Yue has never harmed anyone in the city, even though he could destroy them all in a day.
Though I can see where his clinginess and obsessive behavior towards Touya could result in aggression against others. He felt very agressive towards Sakura when he realized that Touya will always love his sister the most (and it has come full circle now, with Yue always loving Clow the most). Perhaps that agression might come out one day?

I tend to think that any open conflict between Yue and Touya is very interesting, whether verbal or physical. Touya is obviously the greater and more scathing wit after years and years of first-hand experience with protecting his sister (he seems to win all verbal fights), while Yue is less aggressive verbally, and more agressive physically, unfortunatly towards Touya.
Yue has been floundering pathetically in recent verbal confrontations and often breaks down-- it has become brilliant to read, particularly since Touya is slowly but surely gaining the upper-hand over him. Touya, as Yue has already said, is becoming the 'master'.

Following that, Touya's escape is doubtless going to have a very big impact on Yue. I can imagine Yue going into a spiral of depression, even worse than the depression he felt when Touya would not speak to him. His slave, although he didn't speak, still slept in his bed and was there in the castle. But to know that the man he loves has chose to run away-- I can only imagine how heartbroken Yue will feel, knowing that Touya would rather be free than with him. Every insecurity Yue has ever felt will come to srface during Touya's escape.

I am anxious to know who will admit their love first, though I'm secretly hoping for it to be Yue. Touya's reaction to Aya loving him was that of shock, so I can only imagine how he would feel if a creature like Yue admitted that he was in love with him. Already, I can imagine Touya thinking, "How can Yue love me? What makes me so special? How am I supposed to react to this?" He will analyze every single detail of the event, and that thought will surely be exacerbated by the fact that he had debated escaping the castle for so long. If Yue admits his love, then will Touya feel obligated to stay? Would he also admit his love? (I hope not, I can't imagine one of them admitting their love to end in a romantic. If Yue is the one to admit it to Touya, then I'm sure it will result in a fight, or someone -- most likely Yue -- being heartbroken). Or could Touya possibly use it to his advantage?

I also don't forsee Touya turning to Yue, rather than escaping the castle, merely because this is a challenge for him-- Even if he has realized that he cares for Yue, he will still no doubt want to see how far away he can get before anyone finds him.

If he is brought back to the castle, I expect Touya to continue to resist Yue--potentially with even more vigor than before--and to be far more interested in hurting Yue all over again, or at least consistently giving him a shoulder with a temperature of absolute zero, than running into his arms and sobbing like a woman or otherwise essentially saying, "I was a fool to think there was any choice but you." Yue aside, Touya might be mire worried about repairing his relationship with Sakura to care about what Yue wants or needs or what his presence means to the brunet's mind/body. Surely Clow's warning about Sakura has confused Touya, and he'll be sure to figure out that mystery, as well as many others.

Clow's presence doesn't have to be physical to throw a wrench in Yue's gears. He seemed to enjoy Yue's obvious trouble with Touya, as though it was some sort of game. I have no doubt that Clow will indeed linger in Touya's mind, with the various confusing statements he made during that night, for a very long time before Yue finally manages to convince the brunet that he's worth the trouble of falling in love with.

Hi there, I'm a newcomer here. Hajimemashite, Cherry desu.
I'm sorry if I only got to review now. I just couldn't find time to review properly and express what i feel about your fic with the so little time I have everyday.

Thank you for posting such a great story here in aff.net. It's one of the stories I actually come here for. It's like a television show I'm constantly on the look out for. So thanks for updating regularly. Seriously, I bite my thumb whenever I go to the Card Captor Sakura section to see if the chapter number went up.

I have to say, I'm impressed with your plot. Actually, the summary sort of intimidated me, but thank God I clicked it.

I never thought that stag would represent Toya (I like his name that way. ^_^) And Yue's kinda obsessed with him. But I have to say, I want Kaho to make another appearance. I like her. Even though she's not a major character in your story, I kinda admire her, but she's more beautiful in the manga.

I'm sorry this is getting so long. Anyway, Good luck with writing!
    -Cherry
