    Nine Lives:

    I recently re-read 'Maskerade' by Terry Pratchett, which led to watching 'The Phantom of the Opera' film. There's only so far you can go before you can't help but notice that half of Erik's face is scarred and... *grins* I've been planning this for weeks! I didn't know then it would be a sex scene, but somewhere around 'Point of No Return', it settled in my head and I had to write it. Originally it was going to be a Mello angst scene, but the Mello in my head rebelled and told me he's over it now.

    Melissa:

    Well, Mello IS pretty. I keep trying to call him handsome or even beautiful and that insidious word 'pretty' floats back. As for the references, there aren't that many and most of those are what everyone knows via osmosis. I was careful to keep them mostly around 'The Phantom of the Opera' song alone, as that's the one that Nightwish covered. I figured Mello would have a version that's heavy metal.

    If Mello is Erik, I doubt anyone would dare to be Raoul. I think they'd very quickly discover that they aren't so much rescuing 'Christine' from a ghost, but a Mafioso in full roar. *grin*

    haha I've never seen the Phantom of the Opera either. So yes I fail with references. haha And I love Matt calling Mello pretty. Because that man is gorgeous! hehe

    It was fun writing Matt flipping out. It's usually Mello, so it made a nice change.

    I wish he'd wear his glasses more too. You know how, when you're working with these people, you end up with miniature versions of them directing their own storylines? Well, every time I try to put Matt in glasses, there's such an uproar. It's not even the vanity. He can't hide behind glasses like he can his goggles. :(

    Yes, Matt just dislikes people per se, except Mello. LOL

    *grin* I would really hate to be working somewhere when Mello wanted something from me. :D And yes, fantasies about killing him. Young love...

    Hi, I'm Aida from Paris France.First of all I wanted to tell you all my admiration for this on going serie.It's totally amzing and it has rocked my life for months now !!
    I'm sorry I never reveiwed before because it had taken me ages to understand how this site works ,how to lpg in etc...lol But now it's done and the main reason was for me to be able to thank you for all the great time your stories give me.I'm a udge fan of Death Note and of Mellow particulary.Writing your words is like watching him...umbelievable.The chemistry between the two characters, your wicked plots and writing skills totally amaze me.
    so far I've read everything 'til Watari part 1 (starting today !!) so I guess you'll have me now as a regular reviewer !Aida

    The ending to this was amazing. XD Just utterly amazing. Probably the best ending conversation of a chapter I've ever read. AND NOW TIME TO QUOTE THINGS!

    "Have you never worked out the extreme unlikelihood of our planet being created? Or pondered on the things that make no sense at all?"

    "Like standing in the freezing cold when there's a house right there with heating in it?"

    BWA HA HA HA! XD The mental image alone is the best thing in the world. XDD I just can't get over it. It's almost as good as the aardvarks.

    Matt sighed. "There are holes you could drive a Sherpa tank through in your hypothesis, but congratulations. You've headed me off at the pass. By aggressively attacking science, you've taught me the error of my ways in attacking Catholicism. I've learned that if I do that again, I will be bored stupid in my own kitchen by a five foot six collection of dust particles. Have we got any nice bread to go with the casserole? I know there's sliced, but I prefer chunky."

    What's there to say? This is the best paragraph ever! Matt's witty banter makes my life. Seriously.

    "Is Satan a redhead?" Mello stirred his casserole with his spoon. "In my case, yes. Satan is a redhead. Fucking gorgeous, sexy, smartass redhead, who leads me into temptation on a regular basis."

    "I'm quite proud of that."

    I love these two. I love them to death. I'd say they need to get married, but they already did. -fangirl swoon-

    I hadn't even read this chapter and I'd made my Matt tell Watari that he'd been mugged by Century to keep Mello safe. Cause Mello had beaten him up, really badly after hearing a recording from Century.

    hehe Matt is so jealous! He's so cute! And Mello is quite the charmer, I must say! Breaking all the girls' hearts!! XD haha

    For all of her professionalism, she really wasn't paid enough to deal with Mello.

    HAHAHAHA! XD That sentence is just TOO great! The mental image...!

    He figured that his husband might be too fast to submit to a bullet in the head, but maybe might fall for eating chocolate laced with arsenic.

    And that mental image is even better! XDDDD I can just see Mello lounging on the chair eating chocolate then falling over! xDDD haha Though knowing him, I think he'd somehow realize his dear chocolate was messed with. XDDDD I love these two.

    So Matt's not pissed anymore now that he has his goggles back? (it's hald a pity, cause I think he'd look cute with glasses too)
    And I think Matt dislikes Lauren....well, Matt dislikes everybody. Except Mello. It makes him even more lovely XD

    I think that Matt takes a very pragmatic view of the five stitches. The goggles, however, are a very different matter.

    LOL Inorite? I wear contact lenses normally, but occasionally I have my glasses on and I'm right there with you. Glad you're enjoying the chapter. 8D
