I find this story to be a wonderful rendering of those final moments between L and Light. Although I had already read the manga, I was so caught up in the intensity of this scene in the anime, that it was not until I read your poignant story that I realized that L was actually talking about the lonliness that he knew Light would experience after L was gone. Your interpretation of this scene made the rain more powerful, and their exchange more meaningful. I realized that this was the point of no return for Light.

This is well written and insightful. Thank you for enhancing my enjoyment of Death Note. Keep writing!
