Chapter 1 Masks & Arrival

*Kamiya Dojo*

Kaoru's P.O.V.

"Megumi, is Kenshin going to be alright?" 'Ever since he came back from defeating Shishio 2 weeks ago he's been real quiet and hasn't talked to anyone.'

"Hai(Yes), he'll be fine just give him time. he took a lot of damage." 'I'm still worried.'

I walked down to Kenshin's room to see if he was hungry. "Kenshin I came to see if you were hungry." I got no response. "Kenshin,are you there?" Silience. 'I hope he's alright.' I opened the door to his room to see it was empty except for the folded up futon(japanese bed). I really started to worry. 'Maybe he left again without tell anyone. I couldn't bare going through that again.' I ran through the dojo checking every room looking for him. I saw Yahiko walking down the hall towards me. "Yahiko, have you seen Kenshin?" 'Onegai(please) tell me were is Yahiko, Onegai!'

"Yeah, he's out front doing laundry. He is so much like a girl how he does all the chores. I felt like hitting my head repeatedly in the for my own stupidity. 'Why didn't I think of that? He loves doing laundry. And here I was worried for nothing.' "Domo(Thanks) Yahiko." "Yeah whatever buso(ugly)." My face I'm sure turned red in fury. "Yahiko that's 1,000 katas*." I screamed I was so angry. 'The nerve of him.'

"NANI!(WHAT!) Why do I have to do 1,000 buso?" "If you want 2,000 keep talking." I knew I won. "Fine." I watched as he started stomping through the dojo to get to the back to do those katas. 'Now that, that's done back to business.'

I went to the front to see the redhead. I was looking for Kenshin in front of the laundry basket. "Gashi(Hey) Kenshin." I saw him look up.

"O genki desu ka?(How are you)" "Daijobu(Good), I came to see if you wanted anything to eat and see how you were doing."

"Well sessha* is just fine." Gomen nasai(I'm very sorry) for worrying you . Sessha just needs to finish this laundry and will be right in." "Alright Kenshin"

(A/N: Kenshin only refers to himself as sessha when talking)

Kenshin's P.O.V.

I watched as Kaoru-dono went back inside. 'I'm worried of what others will say when they find out my secret. The only people who know are Shishou(Master) and Megumi-dono. They'll all find out when Shishou gets here anyway no use worrying about it right now.'

FLASHBACK

Before the Kenshin-gumi* left for Tokyo to get home.

I was alone on the roof looking up at the full moon when I sensed someone else was awake. "Kazumi*."

"Shishou, sessha hasn't heard that name in a long time." "I would say when you left me before the was right and quit with the sessha mask."

"Gomen shishou. I've been doing it for so long."

"Hmm...When you go back to Tokyo I'm going to come for a visit. You better be ready to let the mask go."

"I understand. I will wait for your arrival." I got up to leave. "Oyasuminasai(Good night) Kazumi." "Oyasuminasai Shishou."

END FLSHBACK

'Can I reaally let go. It's been so long since I put it on.' Finishing up with the laundry I got up to go inside. "BAKA DESHI!(IDIOT PUPIL!)"

"Shishou you arrived." "Hai and I got something for you." I saw him pull out a box from his cloak.

"What did you get sessha?" "Something that will bring out your beauty and what did i say about that sessha crap." "Gomen(Sorry) shishou."

"Yeah, Yeah now put this on and make some tea this might take awhile. I would ask the racoon girl but I don't trust her cooking even with tea."

I laughed, "Not many people trust her cooking. I'm the one that usually cooks except when Megumi-dono is here." I took the package from shishou and started tp go inside.

"Do your face too." I froze and slowly turned around. "Do I ahve to?" I knew I was going to lose. "Hai, it will cover your scar as well." 'Damn. He has a point there.' "Hai shishou."

I went to the kitchen to start the tea when I saw Kaoru-dono there trying to cook. 'I'm going to die.' "Hello Kaoru-dono." She jumped. 'I guess she wasn't expecting me to come in so soon.' "Gomen I didn't mean to stardle you." I saw fer freeze. 'What did I do?' "Daijobu desu ka(Are you alright?), Kaoru-dono?"

"You just referred to yourself as 'I' instead
of 'sessha'" 'Shit!' "Gomen about that. Shishou is here and wanted me to make some tea. Could you bring him to the sitting room onegai?"

"Sure Kenshin." I saw her leave. 'That was way too close for comfort. That's just what I need. Her thinking I turned back into Battousai.' I started boiling the water and getting cups and herbs for tea. When the water was boiling I put the tea together and brought it out to see that Shishou and Kaoru-dono were already sitting down waiting patiently. 'Or at least as patient as these two can be.' "Shishou, Kaoru-dono here's the tea."

"Kenshin aren't you suppose to be dressed?" "I know, I wanted to wait for Sano and Yahiko to get here." "Iia(No) you will do it now."

"Hai Shishou." I went to get up when Kaoru-dono started to put things together on what was just said.

"What do you mean for Kenshin to get dressed Hiko-san? He already is dressed." "You'll see when he comes out. Now get the gaki(brat) and birdhead."

I could tell her famous temper was going to kick in anytime. "Nani? This is MY dojo and YOU can't tell mmm..." I hurried to stop her yelling by coming up behind her covering her mouth with my hand. "Onegai Kaoru-dono just do as he says."

"Arigatou(Thank you) Kenshin." "Fine. I'll be going now." I watched Kaoru stomp out of the room yelling for Yahiko to get Sano here. "Kazumi, what are you doing sitting here get dressed." "Hai Shishou."

I got up to go to my room. When I got inside I made sure no one was near. I took the package out and opened it. It was a beautiful blue kimono with red sakura(cherry blossoms) pettles on the bottom. A red obi also came with it. 'Hmm... He got me the sandles too. How the HELL he was able to pay for this I have no idea.'

I started taking off my gi and unwrapping the bandages around my chest to reveal full sized breasts even if they were on the smaller side. I rewrapped the bandages looser to were I didn't look flat. I took off my hakama and got dressed in the kimono. When I got to putting the obi on i was not having fun. 'This is why I liked dressing as a man. I hate female obi. Why do they have to be so long. Male oni were so simple. I need help.' I went the shoji(japanese sliding door) and poked my head out. Sansing no one was there I yelled load enough knowing he would hear. "SHISHOU TASUKETE(HELP)!!"
