Chapter 10: Girl Talk
- Angst
As it turned out, Moka’s plan was delayed a few days, due to the interference of Kou, who (for reasons unknown to the harem members) took on a handsome human guise and hypnotized everyone at school. He even performed like a male idol singer. Whatever scheme he had, it collapsed when he tried, and failed, to bring Kokoa under his spell, which gave Tsukune the opportunity to release inner Moka. The vampire sisters jointly taught the bat his place and shattered his hold over everyone.
~~~~~
“Tell me, Kou-buddy,” snarled the redheaded vampire once they’d returned to her room, “just what the hell was that all about?”
The bat, perched inside his cage, flinched under his mistress’ glare. “M-Miss Kokoa, please! D-Don’t hurt me! I didn’t… I wouldn’t have hurt you! Whee!”
“Like you could,” the vampire scoffed. “But you tried to mind-control me. Why?”
Her familiar shuddered. “I… I got greedy.”
Green eyes narrowed. “Explain,” Kokoa growled.
Kou fluttered his wings nervously. “At first, my plan was just to, um, keep those other girls out of your way.”
Kokoa’s gaze softened almost imperceptibly. “So I could try to get Big Sis back… Kou-buddy…”
“N-No, Mistress – so you could, um, have a shot with the human boy. Whee?”
The vampire girl’s face flushed. “Wh-Why would I w-want that worthless panty-waist?” She folded her arms in a huff.
The bat fluttered his wings again. “But, Miss Kokoa… that afternoon… when you turned me into –“
“I was just curious!” interjected Kokoa, her face now as red as her hair. “It’s not like I really want my sister’s boyfriend or to rub it in her face after stealing him!”
“I’m sorry, Miss Kokoa! I completely misunderstood, whee!” the bat groveled.
“Whatever,” she huffed. “How did you ‘get greedy,’ then?” she prompted.
“I, uh, made those other girls forget about their boy-toy so easily,” the bat answered, “I thought I could make you forget him, too, whee! You’d, um, only need your familiar to, um, attend your every need.”
Kokoa’s jaw dropped and her eyes widened as the implications of Kou’s statement became clear. “Kou-buddy!” she gasped. “I don’t believe… you… you wanted… that? How dare you!”
The bat trembled in his cage. “I’m sorry, Miss Kokoa! I never should have, whee! I’ll never do anything like that again!” Kou cowered behind his wings.
Kokoa stared at the bat, the wheels in her head turning at a furious pace. “I might be able to forgive you, Kou-buddy, since you just wanted to… serve me,” she allowed. “I guess it’s the natural consequence of, um, how I used you that time, so some of the responsibility is mine too.”
“Oh, thank you thankyou thankyouthankyou, Mistress!” Kou squeaked.
“On one condition,” the vampire continued over her familiar’s groveling. With a trembling hand, Kokoa opened the cage. “Change back into that human-like form… but… n-n-naked.”
“Uh, Miss Kokoa?” the bat sputtered.
“DO IT!” the vampire screamed, pointing to her bed. “You have one chance to earn my forgiveness: make me forget about that worthless human, got it? And you’d better keep your trap shut, if you know what’s good for you!”
Astonished, but too terrified to protest, the bat flitted from cage to bed. Upon landing, Kou transformed into the handsome humanoid form he’d worn earlier – chin-length dark hair, magnetic dark eyes, knee-weakening smirk, slim-yet-sculpted physique. “As you wish, Miss Kokoa,” he purred in his silky-smooth baritone.
The teenage girl’s mouth felt suddenly dry as her eyes consumed the visual buffet before her eyes. The moisture migrated downward, it seemed, to her lower set of lips, rendering her panties rather damp. “No substitute for the real thing, huh, Big Sis?” Kokoa wondered aloud when her gaze fell upon “the real thing.” She removed her panties from beneath her skirt. “Let’s see if that’s really the case.”
Kokoa considered undressing completely, but decided against it – she didn’t want to delay herself, lest she balk. “Remember: not a word,” she growled at her familiar’s admittedly-attractive humanoid form. “If you say anything, I’ll… I’ll tear that… that thing right off.”
With that threat hanging in the air, she straddled her familiar and stuffed him inside, sinking all the way down in one move. Kokoa grunted at the feeling of sudden, complete penetration. Once she’d adjusted – which didn’t take long due to her vampire durability – the horny teen let her libido take over.
She rode hard and fast, breath hissing between her teeth with every bounce. Kokoa squeezed her eyes shut, and her head fell back as pleasure filled her senses. It didn’t take long before she forgot it was Kou, her familiar, whose member her privates clamped around with each ecstatic spasm.
Once the vampire girl had finally satisfied herself and fallen asleep, the still-humanoid Kou wrapped an arm around her waist. This chapter’s little rendezvous lasted one hour, three minutes, and nineteen seconds, he thought with a smirk. I can’t wait until Mistress Kokoa wakes up in the morning, whee!
~~~~~
At Wednesday afternoon’s Newspaper Club meeting, Moka whispered to Tsukune, “We need you to keep an eye on Gin today. I’ve heard rumors he’s been caught peeping again.” The pink-haired vampire favored her boyfriend with a sweet smile.
“As long as he doesn’t try to frame me for it again,” sighed Tsukune. On his way out, the young man informed the group, “I’ll catch you all at the cafeteria for dinner, okay?” The girls waved and bade their mutual boyfriend a sad goodbye, even if it was only for a few hours.
“What’s that all about?” Kurumu wondered aloud as the young man departed. “Is Tsukune feeling okay?” The succubus fixed Moka with a glare. “Did you suck too much blood again this morning?”
The vampire shook her head firmly, a determined expression on her face. “I wanted to talk to you three without Tsukune around,” she explained.
“Ooh! Are we planning a surprise free-for-all orgy for him?” asked Yukari with an unsettling degree of enthusiasm, especially for such an out-of-nowhere guess.
Moka reddened. Mizore stared blankly. Kurumu’s eyes widened in shock.
“N-Nevermind!” the witch whimpered, abashed.
“It’s about this… arrangement,” Moka forged ahead, with a surge of encouragement from the rosary. Her eyebrows knit together. “I don’t like it. We don’t like it,” she amended.
“I guess you could just drop out,” Mizore replied coolly. “More for the rest of us.”
“Like we’d be so lucky,” Kurumu scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Moka clenched her fists. “I’m serious! I want Tsukune to be only mine! Even after all this time, and a week with each of us, he still hasn’t made up his mind!” Realizing she was near shouting, the young woman forcibly quieted herself. “Doesn’t that bother anyone else?”
The other three looked at each other, then back at Moka, then back at each other, then back at Moka. One by one, they each shook their heads. Moka stared at them incredulously.
“Did you really expect him to?” asked Kurumu.
“You gave him until the end of the year,” Yukari pointed out. “It’s the end of November now; Tsukune still has a few months.”
Moka shook her head. “I meant until the end of the Western year!” she argued. “After Christmas!”
“That soon?” Yukari yelped. “He’ll never be able to choose by then!”
“Sounds pretty unreasonable to me,” supplied Mizore, leaning against a shelf.
“Having several girlfriends at once is unreasonable,” countered the vampire.
“Tsukune doesn’t wanna hurt any of us; that’s why he can’t choose,” Kurumu observed.
“Not choosing is hurting me,” Moka answered, her voice trembling and her eyes shining with unshed tears. “Both of us,” she amended again.
“Look, Moka,” Kurumu soothed, “our feelings for Tsukune are just as strong as yours. I think we’d all prefer having him to ourselves, but sharing him is the best thing for everyone right now.”
“If you think we’re going to give up,” added Mizore, “you’re mistaken.”
Moka clenched her fists. “This isn’t right,” she insisted. “We shouldn’t have to share, regardless of our feelings!”
“I… think you’re the only one who feels that way, Moka,” replied Yukari.
“What we’ve got is more than we could’ve hoped for. We’re happy with this. If you want to bow out, go right ahead,” Mizore suggested again, coldly.
“No! No way! I won’t give up Tsukune!” Moka cried.
“I don’t think that’d be fair to Tsukune either,” admitted Kurumu. “He’d feel terrible if he thought he’d driven us apart. Not to mention, if one of us dumps him, he can’t ‘be fair’ to all of us that way; and that’s really important to him. We’re either all in, or all out.”
“What if we make Tsukune choose now,” suggested Yukari, “whether he’s ready or not?”
“I think Tsukune likes the way things are,” remarked Mizore. “We can’t just ignore his feelings.”
“Of course Tsukune likes the way things are!” protested Moka. “We’re letting him have all the… benefits… of making a choice even though he hasn’t chosen!”
Mizore stared at the vampire with a flash of insight. “You’re afraid,” she pronounced. “For the first time since you’ve met Tsukune, you aren’t sure he’d pick you as his girlfriend.” Her mouth curled into a slight smirk; her eyes shone with a hope she’d never felt before.
“What? That’s not true!” Moka replied, convincing none of them.
“Welcome to our world,” Kurumu snorted under her breath in a moment of pique. She folded her arms across her generous bosom.
“I have to admit,” confessed Yukari, “I feel a lot better that you think the playing field is even now.”
Moka sunk into one of the chairs. Her head drooped, and her long hair seemed to form a curtain around her face. “I don’t want to lose Tsukune,” she whimpered.
“None of us do,” Yukari soothed, walking over and putting a comforting hand on the vampire’s shoulder. “He’s so good to us.”
“Especially in bed,” teased the succubus. All of them blushed but couldn’t deny it.
“Maybe if you satisfied Tsukune, you wouldn’t have to worry,” Mizore chimed in.
“Hey! That’s not fair!” Moka protested, glaring at the ice-demon. “We were together three different times during my week!”
“Same here,” replied Mizore, “but I’d bet mine were better.” She shot a meaningful glance at Kurumu, who had the good taste to blush and shake her head curtly.
“I only did it once,” admitted Yukari sheepishly, “but I have the bad luck of going right after a sex-demon! Poor Tsukune needed to recuperate!” The witch glared at the succubus.
Kurumu waved her hands in front of her. “Don’t look at me! Every night, Tsukune was the one to… ummm… initiate!” The others simply stared at Kurumu; clearly, none of them believed her. “It’s true!”
“That must be quite a change from your normal way of coming onto boys at every opportunity,” snarked Yukari.
“Tsukune is my one and only, I’ll have you know,” sniffed the succubus. “Our boyfriend might be average in every other way, but he’s a top-notch lover,” she added to defuse some of the tension that had built up in the room.
“Ugh! What do we do?” moaned Moka. “I don’t want to break up with Tsukune, but I don’t want to share, either.”
Yukari sighed. “We’re at an impasse, everyone.”
Long moments passed in awkward silence while the girls cast about for what to do. Kurumu sat with her chin in her hands, a melancholy expression on her features as she stared at one of the posters on the wall. Mizore rolled her lollipop around and around and around with her tongue while she stared off into space. Yukari mentally reviewed everything she’d read about magic, wondering if there might not be an arcane solution to their quandary.
Suddenly, Moka started; a surprised yelp escaped her lips. The jewel on her rosary flashed insistently, a scarlet flicker that projected agitation. “The other me wants to talk about the situation. Please excuse me for a little while,” she requested as her expression grew vacant.
“I thought we were screwed before,” grumbled Mizore. “Now I’m sure of it.”
~~~~~
Within the featureless expanse of the rosary seal, the two versions of Moka faced each other. The silver-haired persona glowered at her counterpart. “Breaking up with Tsukune doesn’t work for me,” she informed the other. “Find another solution.”
Outer Moka frowned. “There isn’t one. I won’t share Tsukune anymore!”
“At all?” probed the inner self.
“You don’t count,” protested the pink-haired persona. “We’re the same person, so it’s not really sharing.”
Crimson eyes narrowed. “I’m not sure that’s the case anymore, if it ever was,” the warrior responded coolly. “Let’s table that for now, though.”
“Fine,” grumbled the usually-kind outer Moka. “The others don’t seem to mind this stupid arrangement,” she remarked, returning to the primary matter at hand.
“For them, a piece of Tsukune is better than none at all,” explained the inner side, who’d been able to follow the gist of the conversation from within the rosary. “I can relate, even if I don’t like the arrangement either.”
“Are you taking their side? Over mine?” cried outer Moka in disbelief.
Inner Moka shrugged. “Merely saying I understand how they feel. From what I heard, they really… treasure Tsukune – almost as much as we do,” she admitted. Holding up a hand, she added, “But they’re also willing to follow along if you break up with him, so you don’t feel left out.”
“They just don’t want to put Tsukune in a bad position,” the outer one pointed out tersely.
With a raised eyebrow, the inner side asked, “Doesn’t that count for anything?”
The pink-haired version sighed and shook her head. “I honestly think that Tsukune needs something to push him to make a decision already and pick just one of us to be his girlfriend.”
The silver-haired psyche nodded sagely. “I understand – I warned him about his indecisiveness earlier, remember?” she reminded her counterpart, referring to the group’s surprise visit to Tsukune’s house during the break between first and second years. Feuding over Tsukune, the other girls had nearly leveled a whole neighborhood, until inner Moka had stepped in and put them in their places. “I think the deadline you set at the start will suffice to force his hand,” she argued.
“That’s another five weeks,” whined outer Moka, “another whole cycle!”
“Again, I don’t like it either; we deserve better than to be strung along like this,” inner Moka reminded the other. “On the other hand, I don’t think it’s fair to give Tsukune a deadline and then have everyone break up with him before his time’s up to force a choice before he’s ready.”
The pink-haired psyche sighed. “Maybe I’m being a little unfair,” she admitted, “but it’s because I can’t stand the idea of sharing Tsukune like this forever. You know it’s caused problems in our family.”
The silver-haired side shrugged. “Kokoa’s a pain in the ass, sure, but I only remember bits and pieces of life before the seal. You probably know as much as I do in that regard,” she commented, unable to disguise the bitterness in her tone.
“I don’t know for sure, but…” The kinder persona tapped the tips of her index fingers together. “Well… I think the problems in our family are why this seal exists in the first place.”
The fiercer Moka’s eyes widened. “I see… That’s why you’ve been so worked up about all this.”
Outer Moka nodded, having come to a decision. “I’ll tell the others I can endure for one more cycle, but Tsukune absolutely has to choose a girlfriend after Christmas.”
“Don’t forget to clarify to Tsukune as well,” inner Moka reminded her other self. With a wicked smirk, she added, “Warn him, as well, to prepare for a full week as my boyfriend. I don’t plan to go so easy on him this time around.”
The pink-haired version faded away, back to the outside world, leaving the silver-haired one behind, alone again, to reflect on the nature of the seal that kept her locked away.
~~~~~
Outer Moka’s seafoam eyes blinked as she returned from her sojourn inside the seal. Licking her lips, she looked around at the other Club members, her friends through thick and thin, and informed them of her decision: “Tsukune has until the end of December. I’ll put up with this for that much longer.”
Wide grins of relief crept across the other girls’ faces at the news, but Moka splashed metaphorical cold water over them when she added, “But no more than that. If he doesn’t choose, we all dump him. Agreed?”
Slowly, each of the others nodded their assent, though Mizore required an elbow from Kurumu to prompt her. “What did the other Moka say, exactly?” asked the ice-woman.
“Just that we all deserve better than to be strung along,” the vampire answered, artfully extrapolating from her warrior side’s comments. She probably meant “we” as in us two, but… no harm in stretching the truth a little, right?
Kurumu blinked in surprise. “Really? She said that?”
“Uh, yeah, more or less,” stammered the vampire.
“Guys?” Yukari’s voice intercepted any response Kurumu might have made. “If we’re going to actually work on the Gazette today, we should probably get started,” the witch urged.
“Let’s hope that Tsukune takes it well when we tell him the deadline to choose a girlfriend,” murmured Mizore. “He might’ve thought he had until Valentine’s Day.”
Kurumu giggled. “Wouldn’t that have been a bit backwards?” she pondered aloud as they all got to work; their newspaper, after all, wouldn’t write itself.
~~~~~
As it turned out, Tsukune took the news well – outwardly. Inside, the young man fought down a wave of panic all evening and, consequently, hardly slept. The sleepless nights continued for the next few days, until he reminded himself that he still had a whole month to decide.
Further, he realized that, between the disruptions of Kokoa’s familiar and his own issues, outer Moka had been shortchanged of most of her week. The young man resolved to make it up to her over the weekend. Good thing tomorrow’s Saturday, he mused as he drifted off, so only a half-day of classes.
Little did Tsukune Aono know just how much one Saturday could change everything. He would, much later, reflect that the culprits, at least, were exactly who he’d expect: Kokoa, and Cousin Kyoko.
A/N: And thus we conclude this portion of the story. Don't worry; there's still plenty more to come... whenever I can find the time to write it! This series is moving towards its conclusion, though, and has definitely passed the midway point (or maybe this story was it - not sure). Hopefully I'll be able to start posting chapters of the next installment sometime before the end of the year, but things will only get busier between now and New Year's, so... don't hold your breaths. :(
Anyway, please share your thoughts on this chapter, and the story as a whole, via rating, reviewing, PMing on the forums, or posting to the discussion boards!
