Chapter 12
Serena sat on the steps of the temple where they were having a sleep over. As she had left the house, she had overheard her mom and dad talking. She had heard her dad mention telling Darien all and her mom wishing her luck.
Heading for the temple, Serena had rolled that around in her mind. Ever since Darien had mentioned that Kenji reminded him of King Solan, Serena had been paying attention. For the last few weeks, she had come to a semi surprising conclusion. The question was, did she confront him or wait?
“Sere, you alright?” Rei asked, sitting beside her.
“Rei, what do you remember about my father, King Solan?”
“Uncle Solan?” Rei frowned. She was silent for a few moments. “I remember that he was kind, yet stern when it was necessary. He loved you and Orion and Aunt Serenity. Why?”
Serena worried her lip a few moments before answering. “Rei, I think he was reborn as my father in this life. The night of my first date with Darien, he commented that dad reminded him of King Solan. Since then, I’ve been watching him. If I’m right, then mom is King Solan’s second wife, Apollina and Sammy is…”
“Orion.” Rei gasped.
“I know dad was meeting Darien tonight and I think he is going to tell him about being King Solan. Should I say anything or wait till one of them tells me?” Serena questioned.
“Well, does this information change anything? Between you and Darien or you and your family?”
“No. I mean it’s a relief to know that at least some of my family from then is here too.”
“Then for now, just let them come to you.” Rei replied, slipping her arm around Serena’s shoulders. “Now, let’s get back inside. Mina was about to start Love Actually.”
“Yeah. Let’s go.” Serena smiled.

Darien had just finished his meal and studied Kenji. After the bombshell, their food arrived. As the two men ate, neither spoke. Kenji, letting Darien process everything. Darien trying to think about what to say next after he took everything in. Once the plates were taken away, Darien finally found his voice again.
“So, will you tell Serena?” Darien asked.
“I feel I should. I wanted to tell you first to make sure this will not change things between you. Darien, you and Serena are soul mates. I knew that then and I know it now. And before you ask, only Ikuko knows. Until Sammy shows signs he could be remembering, we won’t tell him. He’s only fourteen and even during the Silver Millennium, he had yet to come into his powers.” Keji answered.
“Makes sense to me. How do you think Serena will take all this?” Darien replied.
“Honestly, I have no idea. I’m hoping she will take all this calmly.” Kenji sighed. He took a sip of his coffee before he spoke again. “I understand that only Lita and Mina have not been awakened.”
Darien nodded after taking a sip of his own coffee. “Yes. Serena wants to give them a little more…peaceful life before bringing them in. With Ami and Rei, they were at the attacks as was Zoisite and Jadeite. Kunzite and Nephelite were having dreams of our past life and approached me last Sunday.”
“I’m sure Serena is relieved that your guard is now awakened to better protect you. Any idea how much longer before she will be waking Mina and Lita?” Kenji said.
“I honestly feel it will not be much longer. Maybe another week or two.” Darien stated.

Serena had her arm looped through Darien’s as they walked down the row of vendors. When Rei and Grandpa started to get ready for the festival, Serena and the other girls left to get ready themselves. Darien had come to Serena’s house to pick her up.
She had been a little surprised to see him dressed in a kimono of blue, black and deep green. Hers of course had been pink. After all, it was her favorite color and one she wore constantly. Mina and Lita joked about it being her signature color. Who was she to argue?
“Are you having fun Serena?” Darien asked, smiling down at her.
“I am. Sure me and the girls have come together before, but it just seems…” Serena broke off and spun to look behind her.
“Serena?” Darien said, worriedly.
Serena barely heard him. Her eyes were focused on the four women walking ahead of her. She couldn’t explain it, but she had sensed them. She felt her heart starting to race. She had to catch up to them yet could not understand why.

Marksman smiled as human after human came to his booth. Yes, his plan had indeed been fruitful. Already he had sent masses of energy to Pyrite for the Nega Verse. “Come one, come all. Personalized kimonos, here. These kimonos will bring you plenty of good fortune and prosperity!”
“How much for this one? I’d like to get it for my girlfriend.” A young man said holding up a royal blue kimono.
“Tell me about your…lady.” Marksman smiled, taking the kimono and turning his back to the man.
As the young man started describing the girl, Marksman placed his hands on the back of the kimono, imbuing the fabric with his spell to collect energy. When he lifted his hand all that was there was the lady’s name. He turned and handed the young man back the kimono.
“That will be fifty yen.” Marksman replied.
“Thanks, she’s going to love it!” the guys beamed, handing over the money then hurrying off.
‘Now, it’s time to draw out those damned Scouts.’ Marksman thought.

Kunzite smiled as he watched Mina and Lita play one of the games. Ever since Darien had restored his full memories, he felt even more like himself. For so long he had always felt like something was missing. Now, he felt whole.
“What are you thinking about Brother?” Nephelite asked.
“Just how I finally fell…whole.” Kunzite answered.
“Yes, I know what you mean. The only thing that would be better is if Lita fully remembered.” Nephelite agreed.
Kunzite was about to speak when screams caught his ear. He turned to see people running their way. He and Nephelite simply reacted. They both rushed to Mina and Lita, scooped them into their arms and jumped out of the stampede of people.
“What’s going on?” Mina asked, arms tight around Kunzite’s neck.
“Oh god! Mina look!” Lita gasped, pointing down the row. “A youma.”
“Oh no, we have to help somehow.” Mina said, then frowned.
Kunzite and Nephelite shared a look. Even without their memories, their instincts were kicking in. “We need to get to safety. We can’t do anything against that thing.” Kunzite replied.
“But we can’t just do nothing Kunzite. We have to help.” Lita argued.
“Lita, he’s right, we would only get in the way.” Nephelite added.
“But…” Lita started.
She was interrupted when the youma let out a scream of pain. There was Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Sailor Mercury and Zoisite. “Kunzite, we have to get out of this spot. If they come this way, we’ll be right in their path.” Nephelite pointed out.
“Let’s move.” Kunzite nodded, over Mina and Lita’s protests, he and Nephelite leapt to the nearest rooftop.

Sailor Moon dove to the left and Tuxedo to the right as the youma shot ribbons of silk at them. The ends of the silk held what looked like a bear trap. Moon rolled and was on her feet in seconds. Her eyes narrowed as she waited for the youma’s next move. She didn’t wait long as two more ribbons raced toward her. Bending her knees, she waited and at the last moment flipped over them and landed a few feet from where the metal teeth sank into the ground.
“Not bad Sailor Moon.” The youma laughed.
“Oh, I’m just getting warmed up.” Moon shot back.
The youma screamed as flames slammed into its back. Sailor Moon looked over and saw Mars and Jadeite standing there. Mercury and Zoisite moved to her right and Tuxedo landed beside her. The youma was in the middle of the triangle they formed.
“You’ll pay for that.” The youma hissed.
“This can’t be good.” Tuxedo whispered as the youma started glowing.
“Oh shit.” Moon gasped. “Take cover!”
The six of them scattered seconds before the youma’s body released dozens of ribbons in all directions. Moon gasped as a ribbon wrapped around her. She saw that the others were caught just like her. Before she could think, all of them were lifted into the air.

“They’re trapped.” Mina gasped.
“We HAVE to help them.” Lita hissed.
Kunzite and Nephelite looked at each other. They were torn. Half of them wanted to join the fight to free their Prince and Princess, but their hearts were telling them to stay and keep Mina and Lita safe. After all, they had not been awakened and would have no way to fight as they did.
“Mina, how can we help?” Kunzite pleaded.
“I don’t know, but someone has to help them. Maybe we can, I don’t know, cause a distraction. Get that youma to release them or something.” Mina stated.
“It’s not much but at least it’s something.” Lita added.
“Kunzite…” Nephelite said, his voice revealing his own feelings.
Kunzite sighed. “Alright. Neph, you and Lita go to the right. See that stand? Get the canvas on the awning. Me and Mina will grab the one across from it. On my signal, we’ll move in and throw the canvas over it.”
The four split up and hurried. Kunzite couldn’t believe they were doing this, but Mina and Lita were right, they had to do something. He and Mina grabbed the canvas, saw Lita and Nephelite had theirs as well. The two groups moved so they were on either side of the youma. The youma started laughing as it began swinging the ribbons around her head like a lasso.
Hearing his Prince, Princess, fellow Generals, and the Scouts crying out spurred him into action. Kunzite noticed the youma was too busy looking up to see them. He and Nephelite looked at each other before Kunzite gave the signal.
“Now!” Kunzite yelled.
“What…Aghhh!” the youma cried.
The canvases covered the youma and causing it to drop the others to the ground. “You guys alright?” Mina asked, approaching Sailor Moon.
“Yes, thanks to you four.” Moon nodded, smiling.
“Sailor Moon, look!” Luna gasped, running up.
“Did Luna just talk?” Mina gaped.
Moon looked at her friend’s foreheads. Burning brightly were the symbols of Venus and Jupiter. She saw Luna flip, summoning their transformation wands, but something else caught her eye. The youma had thrown off the canvases and was sending two ribbons at Mina and Lita.
“NO!” Moon screamed, shoving them out of the way.
“Sailor Moon!” Tuxedo roared as the ribbons wrapped around Moon and flung her through the air.
“STOP!” a voice ordered.
Marksman stepped out of the shadows with an evil smile. He glanced up at Sailor Moon who was suspended in the air by Silkster’s ribbon. Weakly, she lifted her head and glared down at him. He snorted.
“Still defiant Sailor Moon?” Marksman chuckled.
“Let her go. Now!” Tuxedo demanded.
“Oh, I don’t think so Cape Boy. You see, Sailor Moon has caused a lot of problems for my Master. I think I will just…alleviate him of that headache.” Marksman said, summoning a sword.
“Who…are you?” Moon gritted as the ribbons tightened.
“I am called Marksman. Time to join the others of the Moon Kingdom.” Marksman laughed.
~0000~
“Mina, Lita, take these.” Luna whispered.
Shielded behind Kunzite, Nephelite, and the others, Mina and Lita bent down and picked up the two transformation pens. They both felt the power surging through them. They looked down at Luna.
“You two are the last of Sailor Moon’s Inner Scouts. Lita, you are Sailor Jupiter. Mina, you’re Sailor Venus.” Luna said.
“What?” Lita gasped.
“There’s no time. Sailor Moon needs your help. Sneak behind the youma and Marksman. Lita, call out Jupiter Power. Mina, Venus Power. Attack him from behind and give the others a break to get Sailor Moon.” Luna ordered.
~0000~
“Silkster, bring her to me.” Marksman said.
“Yes Master.” Silkster nodded, lowering Moon to her knees, keeping the ribbons tight.
“No! Stop!” Tuxedo cried starting to charge.
“Stop right there!” Marksman roared, placing the blade of his sword at Sailor Moon’s neck.
“Please, please let her go!” Tuxedo Mask begged, skidding to a stop.
Marksman started laughing. “No. She is my prize for my Master. I think I will be handsomely rewarded for killing the Moon brat. Say good-bye.”
“SAILOR MOON!” Everyone screamed.
“Jupiter Thunder Crash!”
“Venus Crescent Beam Smash!”
Marksman and Silkster screeched as the two attacks hit them. The moment the ribbons released Sailor Moon, Tuxedo jumped to her side, gathered her into his arms and jumped away. Behind him, he heard the others launching their own attacks at Marksman and Silkster.
“Sailor Moon? Sailor Moon, can you hear me?” Tuxedo Mask pleaded.
“T…Tuxedo M…ask?” Moon groaned.
“Thank god.” Tuxedo sighed, holding her close.
“I…I’m alright. I have to end this.” Moon said.
“You’re too weak…”
“I’ll be alright. Just get me close enough and I can finish it.”
Tuxedo Mask nodded. Adjusting his hold, he stood and moved them closer. Sailor Moon summoned the Moon Scepter. She saw that Jupiter and Venus were now awakened. While it was sooner than she planned, she was grateful. When Tuxedo got her close, she called out.
“Everyone move!” Moon yelled. Once everyone was away and Silkster and Marksman sank to their knees, she aimed her scepter. “Moon Scepter Elimination!”
The two didn’t have the chance to scream before they were turned to dust. Sighing, Sailor Moon went limp in Tuxedo Mask’s arms, feeling weak. Her eyes fluttered at the feel of a gloved hand stroking her cheek.
“It’s over. You did it.” Tuxedo whispered as the other rushed over.
“Sailor Moon, are you alright?” Sailor Jupiter asked.
“Yes, thanks to you and Venus.” Moon sighed. “Let’s get out of here. We have a lot to fill you two in on.”
“My place is closer.” Mars spoked up.
“Let’s go then.” Tuxedo said.
~0000~
In the treetops, four figures watched the Scouts and Generals take off in the direction of the Cherry Hill Temple.
“That was close.” The young black-haired girl said.
“Too close.” Hissed the blonde. “Why didn’t Venus and Jupiter join sooner?”
“I think they were just awakened. But why now?” the aquamarine haired woman questioned.
“My guess is that is what the Princess wanted. She sensed us tonight.” Replied a green haired woman.
“Then why don’t we just….” The blonde began.
“It is not time. However, I feel she will find us. Let her. Let’s go.” The green haired woman stated.
The four agreed and sticking to the trees, left the scene.
