Chapter 13: Surprises

It was too quiet. The air felt thick and tense, as though a bomb was going to explode in the room. Faye lay on the couch. For an ugly yellow eyesore it was rather comfortable. It was no wonder Spike slept here more than in his own bed. As though her thoughts called to him, Spike strolled into the room, a bluesy tune on his lips as he whistled.

\"Where\'s Jet?\" he asked as he noticed her.

Faye sat up and shrugged. She had forgone her usual outfit for one that Rain had bought her. A pair of jean shorts and a black t-shirt that said \'I didn\'t say it was your fault, I just said I was gonna blame you,\' in bold letters across the chest. Rain had a similar one that said \'Went to go find myself. If I return before I get back, keep me here.\' She liked the shirt, it fit her personality. It also made her feel that the woman that gave it to her was there. Rain had been gone for months now. Sure, she\'d send a video message or a greeting every now and then to tell them that she as alive, but it wasn\'t the same as having the woman there. Things were getting to be too much. Her past was starting to catch up with her and she had no one to talk to about it.

\"You there, Faye?\" Spike asked as he waved a hand in front of her face.

Faye snapped out of her thoughts, her green eyes lng wng with the amused brown ones of Spike. He had been getting on her nerves more and more. He knew every button to push, every way to hurt her or piss her off, and she hated it. \"Fuck off, goucho!\" she snapped as she lay back down on the couch, her arms behind her head.

\"What\'d I say?\"

\"Nothing, leave me alone.\"

\"Why the hell are you acting so pissy? At first I thought it was \'that time of the month\' for you but even Rain is more pleasant at that time! What is eating you?\"

\"None of your god damned business!\"

\"I live in the same ship as you, Faye, it is my business.\"

\"I said drop it!\"

\"Fine, now do you know where Jet is?\"

\"Probably moping in his bonzai room. He hasn\'t stopped since Rain last called. Ed is... somewhere, doing god knows what... I really don\'t care, so there, happy?\"

\"When\'d she call?\" he asked, his voice going low.

\"While you were out getting your hunk of crap tuned up.\"

\"That\'s the seventh time she\'s done that,\" he sighed.

\"Yeah, she\'s been doing it to Jet too. What the hell did you do to her before you left? I know why she\'s avoiding Jet, but she\'s pissed at you.\"

\"I know. I said something stupid before she left,\" he said. His eyes portrayed something entirly different.

Faye\'s eyes widened as she sat up. \"Christ, you slept with her again, didn\'t you? You went up to her room to comfort her and you two ended up having sex again. God damn it Spike! How stupid are you?!\" she shouted as she stood, her eyes blazing.

\"What the fuck would you care?\" he growled.

\"She\'s my friend, and... and damn it, I love you! That\'s why!\" she screamed.

Spike\'s eyes widened, shock creeping in. \"You what?\"

\"I love you, are you happy? But if you end up hurting her because of this stupid thing, I\'m going to kill you.\"

\"Do you think I planned that? I don\'t want to do what Vicious did to her. You guys didn\'t see her before she joined us. He broke her, Faye. She wanted to curl up and die right there. I don\'t want to hurt her. I don\'t want to hurt you either,\" he said, his voice growing softer towards the end.

\"Why the hell would you care about my feelings? You don\'t care about anyone,\" she grumbled as she turned away from the taller man and storned out into the hall.

Spike rolled his eyes and spun her around, pushing her body into a wall as he held her by the shoulders. \"Don\'t walk away from me and don\'t pretend to know my thoughts!\" he growled.

\"Let. Me. Go,\" she ordered.

\"No.\"

\"Fuck, Spike! Let me go!\" she shouted as she thrashed her arms.

Spike narrowed his eyes and crushed his lips to Fayes, capturing her whimpers and swallowing them as he kissed her.

Faye moaned as he thrust his tongue into her mouth, both of thier slick muscles entwining in a seensual dance. She relaxed against the wall as he made love to her mouth. It wasn\'t rough and passionate, his kiss was sensual and made her feel as though her legs had become boneless. She collapsed into his arms, letting him lift her and carry her to his room.

Faye yipped in suprise as she hit the bed. She had little time to recover before a shirtless Spike pounced on top of her. She smiled as he began to trail kisses over her face, stopping to nip ans suck upon her earlobe as she lightyly traced his skin with her fingertips. she loved the soft feel of his skin as his rock hard muscles danced underneath her caresses. his own hands were exploring every inch of hre body, as though memorizing it.

\"God, Spike... I need you,\" she pleaded as his hands caressed her womanhood through the rough material of her jeans.

She felt him smile against her skin as he tore her shorts from her body, leaving her clad in her t-shirt and panties only. Her bra, at one time, had been removed and was now on the floor with the shorts and his pants. How he had accomplished that without removing her shirt was nothing short of miraculous.

\"Are you sure you want this?\" he asked suddenly.

Faye raised an eyebrow in question. \"I wouldn\'t be here if I didn\'t.\"

Spike smiled and then kicked off his boxers, his body completely nude. She smirked and used a leg to flip him over. placing her lacy, rough panties against his painfully engorged lh. Sh. She then pulled her shirt over her head in one movement, her breasts bouncing slightly. She then leaned against his chest, pressing her hardened nipples against his skin.

\"Are you sure you want this?\" she asked him.

Spike nodded, not trusting his voice as she brushed her panties against him.

\"I love you as well, Fayeentientine,\" she heard him whisper back as she drifted off into a sated sleep.

Life was getting too fucking complicated. Apparently, leaving to figure things out just made it worse than facing it. Of course, now she had something even more complicated to face. Rain sighed as she approached the Bebop. It had been four months. A record for her. Four months to think, four months to prepare, four months to find out that no matter what she did she was screwed.

It was Ed\'s voice that came over the airways. \"Hi Rain!\" the young girl greeted.

\"Hey Ed,\" Rain greeted back with a slight smile. At least she hadn\'t changed.

\"You coming for a visit or you back for good?\" Ed asked.

Rian sighed. \"For good, I think.\"

\"Yay! Ed will open the bay doors.\"

\"Thanks, hon\'. Just don\'t tell anyone to meet me down there. And get everyone to the living room. I got a suprise for you guys.\"

Ed grinned. \"Yay! Suprises!\" she cheered as the doors opened.

The hall was dark, a lightbulb seemed to have died. She needed to remember to fix that. Rain walked towards the living room. She could hear Ed talking to someone, of course that could be Ein.

\"Why did you have to have everyone here again, Ed?\" Fayes, irritated and tired voice asked.

She could see them now. Jet was sitting on a chair while Spike and Faye took up the couch. Faye was dressed sloppily in a t-shirt while Spike seemed to be just wearing his sweatpants. \'Finally!\' she cheered in her mind. Ed was sitting on the table, giggling. Ein was watching everyone with a curious intrest that only further proved his supeirior intellect.

\"She called you here because I asked her,\" Rain said, making sure she was covered by shadow.

\"Rain?\" Jet\'s voice asked.

\"Where\'ve you been?\" Faye asked.

\"Where\'s the suprise?\" Ed asked.

Rain took a deep breath and stepped into the light, watching as they reacted. Spike and Jet looked shocked. Faye was gaping like a fish. Meanwhile, Ed was excited.

\"Rain! You\'re...\" Faye started.

\"Rain\'s gonna have a baby!\" Ed cheered as she ran up to the grey eyed woman and placed her head gently over Rain\'s slightly swollen belly.

Rain smiled nervously. \"Suprise?\"
