I Didn't Know...

Heartbreaker

Summary: Apparently, Kaidoh has a habit of turning people down. He does it politely and as gently as he can, but what happens when someone won’t take no for an answer?
Disclaimer: I don’t own all these wonderful…underage…pretty boys. I just don’t. The guy who made Prince of tennis does…lucky bastard.

I Didn’t Know...

No one was talking. The whole atmosphere in the locker room was tense and no one knew exactly why but they knew no one was talking.

And most quiet of all were the two people who rarely talked in public as it was.

Kaidoh and Inui.

Fuji brushed his hair dry, looking over his shoulder at Eiji who shrugged and mouthed a “Nani desu ka?” at him. The blue-eyed tensei looked over to Momo but the junior wasn’t paying too much attention as Taka was handing him his racket, both smiling shyly. Fuji’s eyebrow went up as he noticed Inui wasn’t even paying attention to the exchange.

In fact, Inui hadn’t been paying attention much at all. All practice.

He hadn’t pulled out his notebook, hadn’t even bothered to watch Kaidoh’s match and when he did speak, he was being verbose.

Sort of when he first came to the school.

Fuji finished and shouldered his bag, giving a general goodbye.

Kaidoh leaned his back against the tree, staring past Kaidoh’s shoulders as he looked up into the sky.

“So it’s my fault?”

“Yeah. Look, I can come see you it’s no big deal.” the amber-eyed delinquent leaned up against him, looking down at him. “What’s the matter?”

“Hn...you ever fight with your friends?”

“I don’t got any friends Mamushi.” He held Kaidoh’s chin in his hand, examining his face. “Anyone hit you?”

“No...Jin quit.” He moved his face away. “How long can you stay out? My parents want me home for dinner.”

“It’s just after school...after tennis for you, but it’s no big deal. Why?”

Kaidoh noticed that Jin talked more when they were alone or seemingly alone. He used more words, acted more casually. The mamushi ran his hand up his boyfriend’s side.

“So I can’t come see you?”

“Not for a while no.”

“Fwsssssh....this sucks Akutsu.”

“Yeah.”

“Hm...Oshitari-kun, I don’t think I’ll be giving any secrets away to you.”

The tall boy gave a cryptic smile and pushed up hi glasses. “Hm...then it seems I’ve wasted our time together.”

Fuji smiled and adjusted his bag. “Your tennis lets out late.”

“No, everyone is being vain.” He smiled as Gakuto pranced his way, giving Fuji a look before tossing his hair to the side.

“Ikimashou ka?”

“Yes, let’s go.” Oshitari bowed briefly and left with the red-head.

Not too long after that, Fuji gave greeting to Ohtori and Shishido, then a few other members as he leaned to look inside the gates. He saw someone, not who he as looking for and let his expression remain neutral.

Atobe sauntered up to him, just as his limo rolled up, his chauffeur getting out to open the door for him.

“Well, look who it is! I knew it wouldn’t take you long.” the boy smirked. “Tell you what, if you lick the dirt off my tennis sho -.”

“Jiroh-kun!” Fuji greeted, walking past Atobe, ignoring him completely. “I was out here for a while. Were you asleep again?”

The boy nodded, smiling as he gave an enthusiastic good-bye to the members of his team.
“Yes! I was! And I was having the best dream!’ Jiroh shouldered his bag and hummed a little. “Where are we going?”

“To eat and talk. Thank you for coming with me.”

“And miss Keigo-chan’s face? Never!” Jiroh had a bounce in his step then froze. “Wait, that look!” He pointed to Fuji, snapping. “You’re the guy he’s been trying to badmouth?”

“I suppose.”

“Hn...oh well! Say let’s get burgers!”

Kaidoh felt a bit delirious as he walked home. He wasn’t exactly paying attention and had run into walls twice. He smacked his cheek lightly, blushing furiously when his mind recalled what had happened on fifteen minutes before.

He never knew you could do it standing up like that. Or against the tree. Or that he’d want it like that. And like it so much.

He scratched the back of his head and laughed softly. He ran into something else, immediately bowing before he even looked up.

“Gomen!”

“It’s best that you pay attention to where you’re walking so that you don’t run into other people. Your excuse is accepted. I’ll be on my way now.”

Kaidoh looked up to see Inui brushing past him, coming from the direction of his home. His feelings immediately fell to the ground and the boy hissed, rushing the rest of the way. When he got home, his mother greeted him and he kissed her cheek.

“Your Senpai came to leave this for you. Is it yours, this bandana?”

Kaidoh blinked at the black bandana. Yes, it was his.

“Hai. Did he say where he found it?”

“No, only that you’d left it. I thought you bought anew one recently.”

Kaidoh nodded and took the other black bandana. I did buy a new black one because the old one was gone...this one was gone...

Kaidoh went up to his room and closed the door forcefully. Returning my things huh!? Is that how it is!? Well fuck you Senpai! Break up if you want to...

His mouth went dry and his body stopped.

Break up?

They’d never been together. Why had he thought that?
