Thou art With Me

Psyence and all concerned: Yes, I said that this will be novel length in an MSN conversation with Psy. No I was not referring to chapter length. I was referring to length of the story. I’m expecting 30 or maybe 40 chapters, depending in when I get my plot done.

Appolla: I will add you under the assumption that you know and understand that I reserve the right to block you if I don’t personally like you. I’m usually good to get along with, but I get annoyed really easily, so I will add you, but yeah.

Impaitient Mr Psy: I have been on Night Shifts with a flu and having to deal with appointments and whatnot. WAIT YOUR FREAKING TIME OUT WITH PATIENCE!!!! I’m not a story machine! Lol.

Angel flopped herself down on the shore of Fuchsia city, her brain still swirling from the horror of what’d happened. That bull had gone completely insane before her eyes, and had to be killed. That poor cow had suffered the largest cost in the balance of it all. Such horror in a matter of seconds. She wagered that it was something she would never get over very quickly. Moonlight and Gary caught up to her, as she ran her hands through her hair. Moonlight laid down beside her, resting his head on her lap.

“I’m sorry you had to see that...” Gary muttered, a set of six pokeballs on his belt. Finally.

“Me too...” was all Angel could say.

“It’s not every day that a Tauros looses it’s mind like that. But, let’s not think about that. GO, POKEMON!” Gary exclaimed. His pokemon had earned their time out. As all six balls flew out, Angel too cast out her pokemon. Nine pokemon in total laid out on the beach; Electabuzz, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Dodrio, Blastoise, and a sixth pokemon vanished instantly into the brush. But, specific giant bird immediately tried to fly away.

“Aero?” he exclaimed, fluttering around as his right leg failed to leave the ground. The human had stuck a stupid iron ball on him! “Aero!!!” he protested, hopping in place like an angry chicken. Angel smiled, as Slaughter took a place under the shade of the tree.

“Aero.” He grumbled, folding his wings and flopping down hopelessly. Gary’s Electabuzz snickered as Moonlight eyed the big bird.

“I’m sorry Anarchy, I can’t have you flying off into the wild. It’s not the old days anymore, this is 2008, almost 2009 in a couple months. You’ll upset the balance! You’ve gotta get used to being a trainer’s pokemon now, buddy. I’ll treat you good, if you listen.” Anarchy tilted his head away, and pretended not to hear. “Oh come on, life isn’t that bad with me. I let you out, didn’t I? And you don’t have to go back in until you’re ready, or we have to go inside for the night. Okay?” Still, he pretended not to listen, and shifted his back on her. She frowned, and flipped her head to tilt on the right side.

“Anarchyyyy. You must be hungryyyyy. What does a big guy like you eat?” she cooed, staring at the almost six foot tall bird. “Maybe some pokemon treats? I bought Rattatta flavour....” she continued, tugging the large pair of poke treat jars form her backpack. Anarchy shifted his head, pretending to watch a pair of Pidgey fly across the ocean, as his telltale eyes glanced at the jars. “Oh, it smells so nice...” Angel continued, pulling the lid off the jar.

“...Aero?...” he murred, turning around sideways as he snuffled at the air. Angel smiled, and put the lid back on.

“I guess if you don’t want any, I’ll just put it away...” Anarchy snorted indignantly, and glanced away again, but after a few seconds, he finally broke, and turned around completely. He turned his head to the side, and stretched out a folded, clawed wing.

“Aeeero...?” he spoke, staring at the jar. His tongue flicked out, licking his lips. Gary watched with a smirk as his Blastoise swam about in the ocean, the Dodrio and both Nido’s rummaged around in the grasses nearby for some bugs to eat. His Electabuzz was content to watch as well, as his sixth pokemon could be heard dashing about in the brush.

“Oh? Do you want some?” Angel cooed, pulling the lid off again.

~Yes. Tell her yes...~ Anarchy spoke to Moonlight, whom decided to ignore him this time. When no reply came, Anarchy snorted again. ~I said tell her yes!~

~Tell her yourself...~ Moonlight replied, rolling over onto his side, his back now facing the bird. How on earth was he to tell her yes? Anarchy huffed, and bounced a bit on the spot, his tail lashing back and forth.

“AERO!” Angel burst out laughing, and stood up with the treats in hand.

“Okay, I get it. Here you go.” She extended her hand, the whole jar at the taking. Instantly, Anarchy snatched the pickle-jar sized treat container in his wing-claw, and emptied the entire container into his maw.

“AERO.” He snapped, extending his wing-claw as if to ask – or rather, demand – more. Angel opened the other jar, but instead of giving it to him, she pulled out a handful of the meaty rattatta treats.

“Anarchy lay down.” She commanded, holding her hand close to herself, too close to be snatched away. Anarchy stared at her in arrogant disbelief, and snorted indignantly at her. When he did not respond, she moved her hand back to the jar, and let a few treats fall back into the jar.

“Aero!” he exclaimed, flapping his wings in protest.

“Well then, lay down.” It was clear he had to do as he told in order to get his damn stomach to stop barking at him. Frowning, he had no choice. How unflattering, he thought, as he flattened his form against the sands, his tail flopping down lazily into the surf, his head resting on the sands with a grand sigh.

“Was that so hard?” Angel spoke, placing her spare hand on his muzzle. Anarchy glared daggers at her, but tolerated it. She then brought her hand closer, and placed her hand with the treats near his mouth. “Now I trust you not to bite my hand off. That’s what this is all about; trust. You trust me not to hurt you while you can’t fly away or get up, and I trust you to not bite me. It’s all about give and take.”

Anarchy flicked his eyes between her and the treats, and once she moved her hand off his nose, he resisted the urge to just inhale it, hand and all, and gently licked the food away from her hand with his tongue.

“I will need to rely on you for much more serious things than just this, Anarchy. I can guarantee that my life will be in your hands one day, and I need to trust you, just like you need to trust me to let you out of your ball and let you fight sometimes. I won’t seal you away for a year, and I won’t leave you in there longer than a few days at the worst, and I promise you that. I will feed you and take care of you, and I need you to trust me and obey me. Okay?” Anarchy huffed faintly, a small cloud of sand rolling outward.

Angel stepped back as the large bird got up of his own volition. She wasn’t after total control, just obedience; so, she let him. “Trust is very important.” She commented, and knelt herself at the foot of Anarchy.

“Aero?...” he murred, watching her. What was the human doing now?

“Lift your leg as much as you can...Rest it on your toes.” She spoke. Curious more than anything, the pokemon obeyed, and straining against the weight, he shifted his weight to the other leg, and turned his foot onto his toes. Angel then reached around his mighty thigh, and released the iron ball, which struck the sand and made a crater. “You see? I trust you enough now to know you’re not going to take off on me. But, go stretch your wings, big guy.” She smiled.

“Aero...” Maybe this human wasn’t so bad. She didn’t act like she owned him, but more like it was a relationship. Still, she was the dominant one – something he’d have to get very used to. He didn’t like it, but she trusted him with her life. Trainers had to; their pokemon could very well kill the humans. But, she fed him, and now he could finally fly. Off he flew, with a few mighty flaps of his large wings, which kicked up a low cloud of sand, and up his form went. He could very easily take off and fly off right now, but this was that trust thing. She believed he would not run away, just as he believed, or had to believe, that she would let him out of that blasted ball again. He still didn’t like this whole ‘in captivity’ thing, but when one had no other choice, you learned to love the little things in the situation you were in. At least he didn’t have a bad human, he thought, as he circled around in the glorious skies a few dozen feet up. He wasn’t going to go too high, just to prove that damn Erika wrong. He COULD listen. It just took more than ‘do it’ orders.

“Wow.” Gary spoke, glancing up at the miraculously obeying pokemon, as he sat down. “From wanting to leave to listening in a matter of minutes. How?...” he wrapped her arms around her as she sat aside him, tugging her closer.

“He wasn’t being obstinate because he was a bad pokemon; he was acting like that because he was mad, and emotionally hurt. Erika didn’t know how to control him, so instead of trying, she left him in his pokeball all the time. He just needed to be shown that not all humans are the same, that there are humans who trust him and love him. He’s only obeying right now because he gets to eat and fly around, but he’ll get the idea soon.” She replied, nuzzling against him. “Sometimes the biggest assholes just need a little awakening and a little love to realize who they really are...”

“I know...” he replied, resting his chin on her head. “Believe me. I know.

AN: I know, its short again. But you people want a chapter, so I cut it in half again. I can’t write at work or while sleeping, as much as we all wish I could. So this is what happens when fans ride me for a chapter.
