Shadow never fully recovered from the loss of his other daughter, and takes time moping in the corner by the window, staring out at the fresh grave marking his daughter’s tomb. Morgana tries several times to drag him from his solitude, but he only lies there, sighing softly. Blades finally snarls at her brother, grabbing the Mightyena by the scruff and dragging him on one of the outings to the gym as Morgana has her first battle. Alyria, recovered from having her pups, and able to once more hide her tail, goes with her daughter, allowing Rei to sign up as Morgana’s trainer. Alyria sits next to Luna in the stands, the Suicune hybrid looking like she’s just wearing a crown in the shape of a crest and wearing fake tails while her mother looks similarly costumed. With them are Storm, Blades, Shadow, Wisdom, and Faero, all supporting their youngest addition. Conri is also there, fighting with Rei as Alyssa allowed Rei to borrow him for the fight.

The gym leader is a new one, by the name of Riku. She’s said to possess some of the rarest Pokémon at the lower levels. As Morgana steps onto the field, Shadow growls at his mate for allowing his only surviving child to put herself in danger. Alyria gives him a sharp glare, silencing the Mightyena instantly. Riku steps forward, three pokéballs on her belt and one in her hand. Rei and Conri stand together as Morgana growls softly. Riku tosses the ball, a red flash appearing and vanishing to leave her first choice standing. The announcer on the corner looks for the signal to start the match.

“Alright, first match between Rei Kyrian and Riku Hanakiba. Rei has chosen a Poochyena as his first Pokémon, Riku is using her favored starter, Latias. Begin!” Riku smirks as her Latias flies forward, grinning at the Poochyena on the other side of the field. Morgana snarls her name as she leaps into the air, relying on the agility she inherited from Alyria. Latias looks confused for a few seconds before swooping down and grabbing the Poochyena, flying higher in the arena.

“It looks like Latias is going to drop the Poochyena. Hold on folks, this puppy seems to have been born with an Aura Sphere attack! Latias is critically wounded.” The announcer cries as Morgana uses her mother’s favorite attack and the blue sphere hits and burns Latias’ wing. As the eon Pokémon cries in pain and spirals towards the ground, Morgana leaps clear. The dust settles and Latias is revealed to be unconscious.

“Poochyena wins this round. Next Pokémon Riku uses is her Espeon, this should be interesting folks.” The announcer smirks, obviously favoring Riku. Rei sends Conri into the arena, the golden furred Lucario glaring at the Espeon. The match begins and Espeon snarls with a shout of her name as she runs to the edge of the arena. Conri charges a Dragon Pulse but misses as Espeon uses quick attack to avoid the attack. She races at Conri, hitting his leg and smirking at the Lucario. Conri growls a few words at her before grabbing her and using thunder punch, shocking the Espeon and sending her flying into the wall.

“Espeon is unable to battle, Conri wins this round. Alright folks, final round, I am forbidden to say what Pokémon Riku is using this time, but here we go!” The announcer shouts as Riku tosses a Pokéball in the air. The entire gym is thrown into darkness as Conri stands alone. Alyria whimpers softly, Luna clinging to her arm and whimpering. Judge shakes his head, knowing the only Pokémon it could be.

“Darkrai, use Shadow Ball!” Riku shouts as a powerful attack sends Conri flying with a snarl. The nightmarish Pokémon smirks at the Lucario as it charges another attack and fires it at Conri, sending the golden furred Pokémon against the wall with sickening force.

“Conri is unable to battle.” The announcer says softly as Rei recalls the Lucario and sends Morgana back into the field. Alyria shrieks as her daughter is pitted against Darkrai. Darkrai smirks at the Lucario hybrid in the stands as he realizes she’s the Poochyena’s mother. The Poochyena roars to no effect, her body trembling in fear. Riku smirks at Rei.

“You should train your pet better old man. She’s terrified of Darkrai. She’s paralyzed in fear and unable to battle. Call the victory and get out of here.” Riku snarls, not letting on that she’s afraid for the Poochyena’s safety with her Darkrai’s slight sadistic streak.

“Morgana, return.” Rei calls as Darkrai vanishes into his Pokéball while Morgana returns to hers. He frees her as soon as he clears the arena, and hands the ball to Alyria. She takes the Pokéball and releases her daughter. Luna smiles at her younger sister and hugs her tightly.

“You did fine little sister. That Darkrai was just too powerful. I mean, he knocked Conri on his ass in minutes.” Luna smirks, showing off her fangs. Alyria glares at the Suicune hybrid and Luna blushes, not used to being punished for language. The family walks out the doors and back to the house, a moving truck already parked.

“Rei, damn you, what’s with the truck?” Alyria snarls before remembering that her adoptive father had mentioned having her move to his mansion for safety.

“I thought you agreed that this move would be best. Seeing as you wanted to switch houses since I can take care of this house more easily than the mansion. Besides, no offense, but the rate at which you have been breeding and the maturity rate of your pups, you’ll need more room.” Rei adds, avoiding a mild force palm by his adoptive daughter. The team loads their belongings into the truck and heads to the mansion quickly and arrives before sunset, Rei’s belongings having been loaded onto Sevira’s back and already taken to the house.
