Shun shoved through the door with a wide grin on his
face. "Tadaima! Konbanwa,
Suka-chan!" Greeted with a mere wave, Shun slumped. "Oi,
homework? C'mon, Suka-chan, it's the weekend. When are you going to learn
to put things off?" Hasukawa managed a grin at Shun's standard 'welcome
home' antics, Shun himself sharing the laugh. Kazuya stretched in his
seat and delivered a more boisterous hello to his friend.
"Mm, okaeri
nasai, Shun. Sorry I'm not being more talkative, it's just that I've
got lots to do this weekend." Shun stuck out his tongue. And thus, a
standard reply.
"Aww, you say that every weekend." Hasukawa
grinned and shrugged.
"It's true
every weekend. Welcome to grade twelve, I guess." Shun sighed, blew back a
bit of his trademark color and sat on his bed, pulling out a manga to read.
Hasukawa would crack, eventually. "Where'd you head to after school?
I was kinda disappointed that I didn't see you on the way back." Shun
grimaced a bit and totally forgot that he was still in his school
clothes. Dropping the comic on his pillow, he pushed the curtain out of
his way and stood to disrobe.
"I know. I was runnin' on an impulse." He
smiled softly, though Kazuya did not see it as he had quickly buried his nose
into his books once more. "So I decided to go to the store—" He
slapped his forehead, tossing his jacket onto the bed after undoing a few of
the buttons on his blouse. "I dropped my snacks running from that
stupid girl!" Knowing what 'that girl' meant, Hasukawa grunted as he got
up and walked over to pat him on the shoulder before he then seated himself on
Shun's bed. School could wait.
"Lesbians again?" Shun nodded with a
pout. "Maybe we can go back out and look for the snacks."
"Nah," Shun dismissed, kicking his pants
off. Kazuya glanced away for a moment as his roommate pulled on a pair of
sweats and undid his shirt. "We'd never find 'em in this
light." As his thoughts milled over his lost foodstuffs, he noticed that
Kazuya was giving him a bit of a stare and so he involuntarily blushed.
"Something wrong, Suka-chan?"
Hasukawa shook his head and pointed, waving his hand
before his eyes to cut off his gaze. "New blouse."
"Oh!" he exclaimed, letting it hang open.
"Got it yesterday – what'a'ya think?" Kazuya just laughed tiredly,
moving back to the desk. He flashed Shun a sharp grin to reassure him that he style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>did care; ever though he sounded like he
hadn't slept in days. Which wasn't exactly a falsehood, but still.
"Doesn't go with the sweats, but it's you,
Shun." Beaming, Kisaragi pulled it off, deigning to wiggle into a clean
white tee before he began to hang his clothing. "So how bad was it
today?"
"Same school. Those Senkoyou girls need a style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>program. I swear, if they bother
me again, I won't be responsible for my actions."
Hasukawa 'mm'ed again and began writing. "Rape
is a crime, Shun-chan."
"Hey! I'm not a rapist!" He held up his
hand in a posh manner, his nose turned slightly up. "I'm too cute
and submissive for that." Kazuya gave him a bit of an odd look as Shun's
face just shined his way.
"Submissive? You? Nah, who'd'a guessed
it?"
"Shaddup."
"Um . . . cute, at least?"
Shun's grin exploded at that and he went over to give him
a hug. It was nice to have someone besides those freaky Senko girls call
him that. Hasukawa did it often – knowing that it did the job to cheer Shun up
when he was feeling low. The redhead gagged for a moment, but patted Shun's arm
as he tightened his grasp on his neck. Of course, he wasn't style='mso-bidi-font-style:normal'>always ready for his roommate's
response. "Thanks Suka-chan. I think I needed that." He
nodded and smiled, going back to his work as Shun released him. Nearly
jumping back to his bed, he picked up the manga and happily read in the silence
that followed.
At least for a little bit. He glanced back up at
Suka-chan and couldn't help but continue to smile. It began to flatten,
however, as his mind was brought back to what he thought of on the way
home. Sure, he was glad to have Hasukawa as a friend, but was that
all? How many friends call each other cute – short of the possibility of
those friends being girls? Granted, Shun realized, his relationship with Kazuya
was unique. Best friends indeed; was
Shun over-evaluating something here? His eyes went out of focus for a moment as
the pictures before him blurred. That hug he'd just given Suka-chan
suddenly felt like it was worth a lot more than the intent. Friends,
right?
Man, that run home really did it to him. Maybe it
was time for a bath. Or maybe he just needed to take his mind off him and
Kazuya. The sempais suddenly appeared in his thoughts, practically waving
at him. Perhaps Hasukawa would be interested in Shun's theories.
