Chapter one
You know the deal. I don’t own the Death Note series, although I wish I did sometimes.
Of course I also wish I owned an actual Death Note, but there’s no way of that happening, huh? (Sighs.)

Chapter One:
Four weeks went by since Ryuuku had done what the white Death Note had asked of him, and he was already bored with the Shingami world again. He was just sitting there, watching some of his fellow reapers play some Bone Dice.
He thought of the white Death Note, and decided that by now some human would had already found it.
“ Hmm, time to check it out… ” Ryuuku said to himself as he got up to fly away.
“ Eh? Where are you going? ” one of his friends asked.
“ No matter where you go, the Shinigami world is always barren…there’s nothing interesting. ” a second reaper chuckled, knowing Ryuuku’s nature too well.
“ I…. Lost my death note. ” Ryuuku lied.
The two reapers who was playing stared at Ryuuku.
The first one then laughed. “ lost his own Death note… how clumsy can you get?! ”
The second reaper went back to his game. “ So do you know where you lost it? ”
Ryuuku nodded, and said what he was told to say. “ I lost it in the human world. “
With that he flew away with the rest of the reapers looking up at him.
He flew though a portal, and he found himself in the human world.
He was able to detect supernatural energy coming from a general direction, and since there wasn’t that much supernatural activity in the human world he knew it had to be the white Death Note.
He followed the energy, and ended up at what appeared to be an human house. He went though the walls and flew up to a room, where he observed a young human male holding the White Death Note at his desk anxiously.
“ Why so Nervous? Don’t tell me you’ve only found out what that thing can do… ” Ryuuku chuckled.
The young man turned around, and then gasped when he saw Ryuuku.
“ Why so surprised? I’m the owner of that Death Note you have there. I’m Ryuuku, pleased to meet you. ” Ryuuku chuckled.
The Young man calmed down. “ Oh… I’m not surprised. I was expecting you in fact. ”
Ryuuku looked at the Young man, slightly surprised. ‘Don’t tell me the White Death Note is already possessing his body…?‘ he wondered to himself.
“My name is Yagami Light. I’ve already accepted the death note as real, but…there’s some things I want to ask you. ” The young man asked of the Reaper.
Ryuuku tilted his head.
Light nervously opened up the white Death note for Ryuuku to see, and The reaper was completely floored when he saw the massive amounts of names in the Death Note.
“ Wow! Amazing… to think that you did this much in four weeks. I’m the one who’s surprised…normally any human would be too freaked out to take it this far… ” Ryuuku looked at all the names in the death note, clearly impressed.
Light shrugged, and then he explained why he had done this over the past 4 weeks.
“Well, I wasn’t actually going to write down that many names at first…But I had to because of that one rule. The one inside the back of the Death note that says I had to write down a person’s name in the Death note after my first kill or else I would be dead in 13 days. Normally I would say it would be better for me to die than for me to become a mass murderer. But I was worried that others in my family would find this Death Note and use it. Also… I’m not exactly proud of this, but my self-preservation won over my logic. I just didn’t want to die so soon…”
Ryuuku chuckled. So the fake rules that the voice of the White Death note had asked him to write down actually worked as an tactic against this human. He wasn’t even sure it was going to work in fooling the humans, but it did. He recalled the conversation he had about the fake rules, and why they had to have this.
Kiraomi told him that the humans would write in his book, making him more stronger with each death. This way he could use the power of the Death Note to regain a body once again using the human. Of course the human in question would think that he was in control of his own actions, but he would be greatly influenced by Kiraomi. But in case the human was too strong-willed, that fake rule was there to give the human an reason not to defy the White Death Note’s will.
Light stood up straight, taking deep breaths. He then told Ryuuku. “ It’s okay, I’m prepared. ”
Ryuuku closed the white Death note, looking mildly confused. “ eh? What are you talking about? ”
It was Light’s turn to be confused. “ What do you mean, what am I talking about? I used the Death Note! And now a reaper is here…What happens to me? Isn’t my soul supposed to be taken? It’s just as I said. I’m prepared to accept the consequences of my actions.”
Ryuuku blinked, and then laughed loudly. “ Hohohoho! Such a human imagination…I won’t do anything to you. Once the death note lands in this world, it belongs to this world. And since you picked it up… it’s yours now. ”
Light’s eyes widened. “ But…. You’re the owner of this Death Note! You said so before! Don’t you even want it back? Besides, don’t you think such a thing is dangerous in the hands of a human?? ”
Ryuuku walked around the room looking about casually, as he answered Light. “ If you don’t want it, then give it to somebody else. However if you do that, then I would have to erase your memories regarding the death note…and… ” He paused for dramatic effect, grinning as he repeated the fake rule. “In 13 days since you forgot about the death note… you will die. But since you used the death Note, don’t think you will go to heaven or hell.”
Ryuuku picked up an red apple that was on Light’s desk, and started munching it. He was instantly impressed by how delicious the apple was. “Hmm, this is good! So very…’Juicy’! The Human world certainly has great things like this…”
Light stared at the Reaper, and he then started to crack up, laughing hysterically. He was shaking with laughter so much that he had to steady himself by leaning on his desk.
Ryuuku simply watched the human with interest, munching on the rest of the apples that was in the fruit bowl.
Light finally calmed down, and then he smirked. ”I suppose this was for the best, though. For the longest time… despite the fact that I was working towards being an police officer like my father, I felt that the justice of this world was too flawed. Criminals of all kinds were going free or only served too little time while the rest of the world suffered for their actions. That’s why I actually only wrote the names of the criminals in that death note…that way I wouldn’t feel too guilty for killing others to keep myself alive…I was simply killing those who truly deserved it! ”
Ryuuku smiled. “Kekeke…ridding the world of criminals….what a noble idea! ”
Light looked up at the Reaper. “ So… is that why you choose me? ”
Ryuuku blinked. “ ehhh?! Keke, don’t be so full of yourself! I only dropped the death note into the human world… it just happened to fall there… and you happened to find it. “
Light sat down, with an disturbed expression on his face.
‘I see… was it really an accident like he says? I can’t help but feel like there’s more to it than he’s telling me…’ he thought. He closed his eyes, still thinking. ‘Still, I suppose it was better than somebody like me picked it up rather than some rotten person…’
“ Light, it’s dinner time! ” His mother called up from the bottom of the stairs.
“ Coming!! ” Light called out, getting up.
Later that night, Light was still awake despite the fact that he was lying in his bed.
His head was full of questions, all racing around his brain at once.
‘Argh! My mind… it’s racing so much I think I’m developing an headache.’ he groaned mentally. ‘It’s been only four weeks of this…and I’m already like this. I feel somewhat sick… but of course those are lives I’m talking about here! It can’t be easy at first I suppose. Should I quit? Maybe it would be better if I gave up ownership of the Death Note and die peacefully thinking that at least I lived as a good person?‘
He then turned around, rubbing his temples in an attempt to banish the developing headache.
He then sighed, his mind starting to over-rationalize his actions so far.
‘But of course, is there such a person who I can trust with the death note? Somebody who wouldn’t even be tempted to use it, and keep it safely stored away out of the reaches of evil people… nah. Such a person doesn’t exist! There’s too many corrupt and rotten people out in this world. Besides, it’s not like I’m evil for using the Death Note, right? I’m only using it to kill the criminals of this world…Yes, that’s it. I’ll use it to change the world! ”
Content with that comforting thought, he went to sleep. He could had sworn that there was a strange voice laughing inside his head as he drifted off to sleep, but he just wrote it off as his own imagination.

Yes, some of this chapter is practically just pretty much the start of the series, and some of you’re probably thinking: “Oh shit, is she actually going to write all the crap that happened throughout the series?! ”
But I assure you, that is not my intention. I’m only going to write all the relevant chapters of certain scenes that gets changed big time thanks to the idea of the whole “Kira is actually the Death Note itself and not a person! ”
Also, It’s now probably safe to say that I won’t be even be bringing in Mello or Near, since I don’t really like them at all. Sorry, Mello and Near Fans. =(
And I’m actually unsure about bringing in Misa, since she’s always annoyed me and I’m not sure I could write her accurately due to my bias…
So do review to tell me what you think of it so far. :)
