chapter 2
Again I don’t own any of the UTGM characters.
To recap:
At about that moment the front door swung open to reveal a short but intense looking blonde girl. “Mother I’m home!” She shouted as she tossed her purse in the general direction of the table in the foyer and stomped loudly up the stairs.
Madame Batolli looked at Dem with a rather pained expression on her face, “That led-footed creature was my daughter Nell. I guess she is about your age, eighteen or so.” She said in a rather off hand manner. “She lives here too.”
“So I gathered.” Dem responded dryly with a short laugh.
Madame Batolli nodded, “She is a rather…” Madame paused searching for a suitably descriptive yet not terribly insulting word, “Abrupt girl.” She finished just a little lamely. “I’m sure that you will like her, she has a good heart, despite certain flaws.” Madame Batolli took a long swallow of tea before smiling reassuringly at Dem.
“I’m sure I will love her Auntie.” Dem smiand and took a sip of tea as the door swung open yet again.
Dem looked up just in time to see a very attractive guy walk through the door. Her jaw practically dropped as she took in his gorgeous blond hair and strong b. Th. The light reflected off his glasses as he turned in their direction drawing her attention to his perfect emerald eyes.
Madame Batolli smirked slightly at Dem\'s obvious attraction to the Beautiful young pretty boy in her foyer. “Dem darling please close your mouth.” She murmured quietly before addressing the Man, “Luel! How wonderful of you to drop buy!”
The man Dem now knew to be called Luel looked startled at Madame, “Um I was actually only… well… I guess that would be nice.” He finished lamely. His gaze had turned to the stairs leading to the upper floor, “Madame Batolli, has Nell been home?”
Madame Batolli again seemed to be smirking, “She may have come in. I would not know however. You see I have a guest.” She tilted her head in the general direction of Dem whom he still had not even glanced at.
Luel blushed darkly, “Oh I am sorry that I…” Dem was noticing that Mr. Luel apparently had a problem with finishing sentences.
Madame Batolli’s smirk deepened, this was going to be most enjoyable. “Not at all Mr. Luel!” She gestured for him to sit. “I would like you to meet my niece, Desdemona.” She again inclined her head towards Dem, “She will be moving into the extra bed room.” She patted Dem’s knee affectionately, “She’s is to become my apprentice. Isn’t that wonderful Mr. Luel?”
Mr. Luel looked taken aback at this sudden addition to the Batolli household, “Um… Madame, isn’t Nell your apprentice?” Dem was seriously starting to wonder if Mr. Luel did not have some sort of speech handicap.
Madame Batolli looked darkly up at the ceiling above her, “My daughter has shown very little interest in the craft.” Then she brightened and smiled warmly at Dem, who was still sitting quietly on the couch, her eyes shifting between Madame and Luel as though she were watching a particularly engaging tennis match. “It will be a nice change of pace to instruct a eager student.”
Mr. Luel looked a little scandalized, “But Madame…” He didn’t even try to finish that sentence as Madame had already vacated her seat and was now pulling Dem up to stand beside her.
“Please invite Mr. Luka to join us for dinner.” She said as she left the room with Dem trailing behind her.
Luel stared Blankly at their retreating backs trying to work through all that had been said.
A/N well that’s all I have for now, I know its short. Sorry.
