Twenty-One
Leaning forward, Shun wrapped his arms around Hasukawa's
neck, hugging the boy as tightly as was allowed by such silly matters as
general atomic physics and breathing. Gripping at his shirt, he choked
back a final, elated cry as he embraced his roommate for the life of him.
Kazuya brought his hands up, wrapping them tentatively around Shun's waist,
responding to the tug of Kisaragi getting to his feet. Once standing,
Shun leaned against him, burying his face into Kazuya's chest. Hasukawa laid a
hand on his head, stroking his hair a bit before posing a stumbling question -
or possibly, an apology.
"Hey, um. . . about those times I tried to get
frisky. . . I'm sorry. . . but. . ."
Shun chuckled a bit, pulling Suka tighter.
"Soon, Suka-chan. . . I was just scared of adding fuel to the fire."
"Right."
They remained like that for a few more moments, neither
complaining even as gravity began to take its toll on tired legs.
Finally, Shun relaxed, letting his hands draw along Suka's front as he almost
relished in the ability to openly display the affections that were long since
building up. He smiled as he stepped back, sitting on his bed.
"Well," he mumbled, "I think we'd better get some sleep.
We've still go school and all."
"Are you still going to bother me when I've got
homework?"
Shun stuck out his tongue. "Naturally."
To this
Suka rolled his eyes, beginning to switch into more suited clothes.
"Then no, we don't still have school and all." Blushing a bit, he
watched as Shun lay down, taking notice in that Kisaragi watched him just as
intently. "And, um, are you going to always watch me change?"
"Suka-chan, jeeze!" Shun laughed, turning to
lie on his back. "Of course not! After all, sometimes I just
won't be here. I said I thought you were cute, ne?"
Grinning, Suka hopped up into his own bunk, glancing down
over the side. Shun looked up to him with an inquisitive smirk.
"Well I think you're a
fox."
"Man, Suka-chan, way to open up to the idea."
He grinned, pulling himself back up into his bunk.
"Well, that was my impression
when I first saw you. . . nothing's changed, I guess. But would you
rather different?"
"I
guess not. . . but I'm glad your a little more out with it." Hasukawa sat
back, lying down, sighing as he gave a relieved puff of air. Shun really had no
idea just how long he might have been keeping it in.
"So am I. . ."
The next morning, the streams of sunlight filtering down
through the trees and cascading the shadows of a million leaves into the rooms
of Greenwood and the buildings of the
surrounding prefecture as the cities of Japan had their first dose of
wake-up. The shadows swayed with a soft breeze, sending ripples along the
floor of room 210. Within, a lump turned over, the cool mornings of the
hall causing it to retreat further below the sheets of its bed.
Murmuring, a leg trailed down over the side of the bed, a yelp erupting from
the lump as a foot met a cold floor. Grumbling, Shun sat up, his hair
tossed about a tired face. Yawning, he instinctively reached for a brush
above his manga case and began to pull out the tangles, nary a wince coming to
his almost bored face.
"Gosh, why am I up so early?" Looking to the
nearby alarm clock, he grimaced, dropping the brush and falling back to the
mattress. "It's not even Saturday yet. . . no one should ever get up
so early on a Friday. . . No one should get up on Friday, ever. . ."
Yawning again, he sat back up, stretching as he looked back to the clock.
"An hour 'til breakfast, yet. . ." He shrugged, lying down on his
back. He brought his feet up and placed them on the bunk above him,
giving a small kick. "Rise and shin, Suka-chan!"
A few minutes later, Shun was outside the Hall, having
nearly been tossed out the window by a very groggy dorm president.
Shrugging again, Shun sat down on a bench, the crisp air causing him to pull
his coat tighter. Those uniforms gave no relief to a cold body
whatsoever. He sat back, looking down the street as she sun continued its
slow rise. Looking back to Greenwood,
Shun figured he could swing a walk and get back in time for breakfast. It
was assumed that Suka sure didn't want to let him back in the room since he'd
locked the door and no fun came with wandering Greenwood anymore.
"If he hadn't grown taller than me this wouldn't be
a problem." Taking a deep breath, Kisaragi looked to the swaying trees and
smiled, the colors always there to accompany him, at least. "Off we
go, then."
