Fight it Out

Mizuru007: Lol. I think we all have that longing. I particularly wrote her like that for that reason. And yeah, I love George. He is one of my favorite supporting sub protagonists. Not that I have many aside him and Oak, Lol. And the Gary match will be heated. :D But, no killy the Gary. At least not in this chapter. Or this part of my series. Lol.

GFF16: Why thank you! I appreciate the compliments. The Aura thing as a basis for my story along with the other skeleton bits in here came from the few Pokegirls stories that I found corny and poorly held together – admittedly – and in conjunction with the Pokemon Ranger games, and how various pokemon have various feild skills – and that led to my main protagonist having the Aura of Mew. The baby thing is weird, I know, but it has its place. It just won't make much sense yet. Mewtwo, in regards to the pokeball comment, I figured, would enjoy the solitude, the unending darkness – that sense of being totally alone with nothing around. But hey, I could be wrong. Lol. As for Gary's Umbreon, it's kinda late for that now. But, I appreciate the input. I like to stick to fact. As for Blue, he is a different character all together. He is a backup Viridian Gym Leader according to Bulbapedia, or at least he was when I read the info. Lol. Either way, in this respect, he is as I have cast him. No, he is not Ash. I also know Moonlight's behaviour is all over the map, and without ruining plot here, I will just ask that you hold that thought, and keep reading...Lol.

Ragdoll: Thanks for your compliments! As for the nationality thing, as I recall, there are a few characters intermingled with Pokemon shows and the games that also imply nationality. I can understand how confusing this may be, but under the basis that Giovanni is an Italian name, and he is crafted after, in many respects, The Don Corleone, then I figured that I had just grounds to incorporate other nationalities aside the regions of Kanto. As for the music comment....I am the author. The scenes are written as I see them in my mind – how I want them to come across. Just like a movie with it's sound track, I have picked songs that in my mind best represent the scenes I am writing. If you do not like the music I am putting in, keep in mind that I am not forcing you or anyone else to listen to the songs, or like them. I will politely decline your request to “drop it”. If it is so distracting, then perhaps listen to some music of your own tastes while reading. Also, if it is that bad of music, you're always welcome to find another novel to follow.

As the beautiful female Umbreon which Moonlight had to fight vanished into thin air, his Hyper Beam slammed with full force into the wall just to the left of Gary. Before he had time to recover and look for the Umbreon, her body flew full force into him. He felt himself tumble off like a dead Ratatta from the mouth of its killer, clear across the room. He slid for several feet before finally stopping. An expression of shock lit into his eyes as his body stung with pain. He had never suffered a blow quite like that one before. The little she-Umbreon wasn't all looks. Shaking his head, Moonlight stood up to his legs, albeit rather rickety. That one little hit took over half of his energy. How was that possible?

Angel frowned. Poor Moonlight had suffered his first critical hit, and by the looks of him, was still recovering from that Hyper Beam. She was pretty much limited to that move; Psychic was pointless, and both Shadow Ball and Bite would be rather like flicking an elephant – especially since Gary's team outlevelled hers by a little.

“Moonlight, as soon as you can, use Hyper Beam again! Watch out for where she's moving!” she commanded, her every muscle tense. One more hit like that, and Moonlight would be down and out for the count. But, if she managed to get that Umbreon down first, she had the upper hand – she could send out the right pokemon against the ones he chose.

“Umbreon, use Return! Finish it!”

Moonlight heaved a sigh. He knew that was coming. Another Hyper Beam. His eyes flashed up off the floor at the sign of movement. The yellow tinged girl was flying straight for him, with a determined look in her eye. What was that? It looked almost like she was fiercely protecting Gary from some unknown evil – only, she was looking straight at him. Just as her figure came within range, he mustered just enough strength to move a couple inches free of her body – just in time for her fangs to latch onto his throat. She wasn't biting as much as cutting off his air – but her sheer strength and force was beginning to overwhelm him. A few more seconds or another attack, and the last three points left on him would trail away. In desperation, he summoned what energy he could, and fired his Hyper Beam. Since she was so close, the hit was guaranteed – only, as she was attached to him, her body flew away and slammed into a wall, with blood dripping down his throat from the spots her teeth had sunk in to. Moonlight promptly fell over the second his beam cut off, as the totally knocked out lady Umbreon was recalled. He panted heavily, not even bothering to try and get up to his feet – he knew it was pointless.

“Go, Nidoqueen! Focus Punch! It's almost done for!” Gary commanded, not even bothering to console or heal his female Umbreon before recalling her.

“Moonlight, once you can, get out of the way and use Psychic!”

Moonlight let his head flop down onto his paws. He didn't have long, only as long as that Nidoqueen had time to tighten it's focus. It was likely the last attack he'd have to make before she called him off; even so, he still kind of resented her running him so hard, with only three points left, and so little energy. He wasn't a machine, after all. But, he was her best – so he understood. He was her best chance. The Nidoqueen had finished focusing; so as she charged at him, fist clenched, without even getting up onto his paws, Moonlight sent his last powerful blast of energy, straight from his mind, at the Nidoqueen. The mental energy blasted the Nidoqueen solidly, and stopped her in her tracks. She teetered on her feet in place for a moment, and finally flopped onto her backside with a grand thump as her eyes went swirly.

“IMPOSSIBLE!” Gary barked, recalling the stunned pokemon. “JUST FRIGGIN' IMPOSSIBLE! NO ONE KNOCKS OUT MY NIDOQUEEN!”

Angel bit her lip. She'd never seen him like that; she never knew about his temper in battle. Either way, she knew Moonlight had been out there too long.

“That's it. GO, NIDOKING! MEGA HORN THAT UMBREON DOWN!” that's it, that was all she needed to know. She just hoped her memory of super effective moves was accurate.

“You're done, Moonlight, come back! Go get 'im, Amelio! Use Psychic!” once that move hit, she was sure the opponent pokemon would be out. But, once his pokemon started dropping, that left her at the disadvantage – he could send out what he needed to finish hers off with. Out came the purple pokemon, already barrelling across the battlefield towards the appearing Mewtwo as Moonlight dragged his sore and tired figure out of the ring. The glowing purple horn of the two foot shorter pokemon slammed into Amelio's chest, square in the middle – but Amelio hardly moved. Not even a full two inches. His high level had spared him the brunt of the double effective move. The surprised Nidoking staggered back, feeling his horn as if checking if it was still there. Amelio wasted no time with his attack, and fired a sharp Psychic at the other male. Without even checking to see if his pokemon had fainted, Gary recalled the Nidoking. He already knew it was over. He should have known she would switch out Moonlight like that.

“Go, Blastoise! Use Ice Punch and Freeze his ass!”

“Amelio, Focus Punch!”

Gary's swirling ball flew out as Amelio prepped the sharp punch. As the large blue turtle stampeeded over towards Amelio, paw frosting over with ice, he lauched himself as well. The fists of the two pokemon collided, and as the Blastoise flew back from the force of the attack, Amelio was frozen solid. Angel frowned. The ice attack actually worked? The chances were slim – but Gary had found a little luck. But, his level was high – Amelio could take a few hits.

“Blastoise, Skull Bash!” After shaking it's hand a few times from the pain, the Blastoise lowered its head, and aimed right at Amelio. Angel didn't bother telling Amelio anything; he couldn't attack. He couldn't do anything. The ice was beginning to crackle a bit, but it would be a little bit before Amelio could break free. Then, the skull of the turtle rammed hard into the frozen statue of Mewtwo, whom toppled over and broke to bits. Smiling, Angel opened her lips to command him to attack again, but something wasn't right. He wasn't standing up. He wasn't moving.

“Amelio?” she questioned, craning her neck to try and peer at the face of the cat, which was facing away from her. To her stunned shock, the psychic god had swirly eyes. “What? Down already? That's....impossible...” she stammered.

“I guess that Mega Horn hit harder than it looked! I must say I'm impressed your pokemon lasted three whole attacks, Angel! Hahaha!” Gary teased, as Angel recalled the fainted Mewtwo.

“Wow, I guess that means...Go, Magneton! I mean....Go, Trojan! Thunderbolt!” she cast out the second stage electical pokemon, cleverly named on the spot after a type of computer virus. The shiny pokemon appeared into the ring, sparkling with electricity within seconds.

“Blastoise, Hydro Pump! Get as much damage in as possible!” Gary commanded. As the Magneton let his electricity reach to power, the poor thing was struck with a strong pulse of water from the cannon on the turtle. It hardly even had a chance to try and attack before it was struck. As the spray of water calmed down, both trainers were left frowning – the water attack had not only fainted the Magneton, but inadvertantly made the Blastoise faint – water conducts electricity. “Hmph.” Gary snorted, calling back his failed plan. Angel did the same, wondering who exactly to send out. Gary had two pokemon left, she had three, one of which she still had no clue what it was – that one that nice old lady had given her – and the odd moveset she couldn't decode.

“No better time than now – go, Bio!”

“Go, Dodrio! Drill Peck!” Gary called out, not bothering to wait and see what Angel was sending out. The almost six foot tall three headded bird scampered about the field, almost as if it had been caged too long. With a giggle, Angel smirked at what pokemon the old lady gave her – a Blastoise. Then the attacks made a bit of sense.

“Bio, Ice!”

“Blaaaa.” the pokemon called out, stammering about a bit before flopping lazilly down on all fours, pointing a cannon at the bird, which was charging straight at him. The frozen mess of beam struck the poor bird, and created a cute little icy monument.

“Damn it!” Gary cursed, shaking his head. He wasn't having much luck, not at all. “Go, Electabuzz! Thunder!”

“Bio, Splash!” Angel hoped that it was a water move. Whichever move was strong. Without moving, Bio fired his second cannon – and Angel facepalmed. Bio's Hydro Cannon hit, but just like Gary's pokemon, had essentially commited suicide. Now she only had Slaughter and Anarchy left against his level 81 Electabuzz. She's have to use Anarchy - technically, she COULD use Slaughter, but she was still sore from Moonlight's attack on her - so a major battle was out of the question, unless it was necessary. Maybe she was being over protective, but...
