Roll of Thunder-
"I've got ye where I want ye, now!" Rave chuckled, placing a card in the upright position on the table, the picture on the card depicting a pokegirl with two swords in her hands placed behind her back while a third was in her teeth. Despite the third sword making her look foolish in Ren's eyes, she glared out from under a bandanna she wore, ready for a fight. Below the girls picture was text that had little relevance to Ren and a pair of numbers. "My Zolo the Bounty Hunter be the strongest card in my deck, with 2700 attack points. And she's going to take ye down with her Tiger Strike attack, Boy!"
"You know, Rave, you really shouldn't be revealing all that you have in a single turn, otherwise it leaves you unprotected." Ren said flatly, flipping over the face-down card on his side of the table. It's picture showed a naked catgirl pleasuring herself, her mouth open wide and showing several of her canines. "Orgasmic Scream, a trap card that destroys any female monster and lets me place my own onto the field."
"But that be leaving me wide open for attack!" Rave cried, placing his Zolo card on the discard pile, mourning that she didn't even get to attack before being destroyed.
"That's life and game, Rave." Ren replied, placing his own card onto the field, the picture in this one showing what appeared to be a white pokegirl with large wings on her back and a long tail sticking out of her rear. Though very sexually alluring, she was one of the most feared creatures in the card game. "My Blue-eyed White Dragoness wins this match for me."
"Damn! For a kid who says he ain't got any interest in this game, you sure gots some powerful cards." Rave muttered, pulling his deck back together and ignoring the snickering from Sage.
Ren just shrugged, also reclaiming his cards, shuffling them before placing them into a box. "It's something to do, Rave, and besides it's one of the few card games that actually requires the players to think about what they do."
Rave just griped a little more, putting his deck away and sitting on the other side of the car, glaring out the window. Sage, who was reading a book, laughed at his friends expense once more before returning to the novel. Lucita had retired to her pokeball, partially because she rather not just sit around waiting for the train to arrive at Oak Haven and partially because she still felt uneasy around Sage. Plif was sitting next to her tamer, munching on a bright red apple that had been left over from lunch, apparently quite obsessed with the fruit from the way she took her time to savor it. Ren made a mental note to get more. If he was going to have pokegirls, he would rather have them happy.
By the time the train had reached Oak Haven, Sage had finished his book, Plif had finished her apple and somehow had acquired a second which she had already had almost finished eating, and Rave had convinced Ren into another card game, this time with him winning by keeping a few traps to prevent Ren from attacking him, though Sage believed that Ren let the other tamer win.
"Oak Haven, home to some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world." Sage commented, looking at a brochure that he had seen on the train. Ren gave the man a rather hard glare. This was no time to be sight seeing, they had a job to do and the sooner it was done the better.
Though originally wary about the pair, Ren had double checked with Cid on the train and he had cleared the two as a pair of his own personal mercenaries, though he mentioned to keep his guard up around Sage. For what reason, he didn't say. What he did give Ren was a little bit of background about the pair. Rave as it turned out was more or less a pirate, though it was said he was more of the Robin Hood kind of thief, stealing only from those whom could afford it and giving it to those who were worse off. The only reasons he hadn't been arrested and jailed for what he did was his skill as a tamer, his ability to get out of some of the stickiest of situations looking as if he was innocent, and his gripe with the Lumic Pirates and Team Rocket, both of which he attacked when ever he crossed their paths, turning them into the police after striping them of their valuables and pokegirls. In fact, the only time Rave stole pokegirls was from the Rockets or their clones, only keeping the girls that caught his eye and giving the rest back to either their original owners or a nearby Poke Center. Really, Ren wasn't sure he believed a word of it, with the age of the 'pirate' and the lanky frame that wasn't normally seen among sailors of any type. Of course, the large amount of pimples that marred his skin and a mop of dark brown hair made him appear more of struggling tamer then well known pirate...though many had said the same thing about CAPTIAN Jill Swallow.
Sage, on the other hand, was a bit of an enigma. A bounty hunter by nature, Sage lived up to his name, spending almost all of his free time reading books, trying to acquire as much information to help ready himself for future jobs. One of the things that Cid had said specifically about Sage was that he had very different tastes then most tamers did and would act on said tastes given the chance. All it meant to Ren was that he would have to stay on his toes around the heavyset man. Regardless, Cid trusted all three of them to get the job done.
Regardless of what the blue haired teen thought of the man, Sage was right, Oak Haven was home to some of the largest and oldest trees, a few of which had even survived Sukube's Revenge. In fact, many such trees had been used for foundations to homes and businesses. A few of the trees that had long since died on the inside had been hollowed out, making a rather unique and strong building. Others had houses and other buildings built between its strong roots or upon some of the branches, making the entire city literally having a tree theme to it. Muska lived here?
"Ye better recall your golden girl, Kid. As clean and wholesome this place may be appearin', Ye know what Cid sent us here to do." Rave reminded Ren, his eyes scanning the crowd for anyone that he might peg as working for Muska or a Team Rocket member, searching for anyone that looked like they were trying very hard not to be noticed. Nodding his reply, the newbie tamer raised his pokeball, the capture beam absorbing his girl without so much as a complaint.
"Well then, if we're all ready to go." Sage said, his unnerving grin still on his face.
"Ah, welcome!" Greeted the well dressed man standing in front one of the only houses in the entire city not to have been built with the tree theme in mind. Standing two stories tall with an angular roof, it looked by far like a cottage that some little old lady would live in, not exactly what Ren would expect for the base of a member of Team Rocket; though maybe one of the less known about clones might use it in a pinch. The man himself had a very professional appearance, dressed in a brown suit with a low collar, white gloves around both hands, and dress shoes adorning his feet. Ren, who had never been very comfortable wearing clothes like that, could already feel the need to get into something loose and causal at the mere sight of the man.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I work for Cid Kramer as one of his relations men, going to and from other schools, ensuring that if the need ever arise, that we would be able to acquire the help we needed from others. To that effect, I am known as Muska." He monologued, bowing to the trio of tamers, showing them the top of his bright blond hair. Ren couldn't help but raise a blue eyebrow, wondering just who exactly this joker was. Was Cid seriously worried about this man?
"I'd be Rave, and this mountain to me left is Sage. The two of us be assigned to you by Cid to help you with some rumored trouble in the area." The pirate said, his face now hard and serious. Sage gave a curt nod beside him, his normally (Well, normal for the amount of time Ren had known the pair) easy smile was gone in a professional glare. Muska returned the nod with one of his own, his eyes roaming up and down their frames, sizing them up as it were. The suited man's gaze eventually went back to Ren, noting at first the teens bright blue hair then his cold eyes before finally resting on his belt, which held two full pokeballs holding Plif and Lucita inside. "And you?"
"My name is Ren, Cid assigned me to be your assistant. My orders were to follow yours, no questions asked as well as to support Sage and Rave when need be." Ren replied, keeping his eyes locked with Muska's. The man just smiled back, his face never flinching, as he waved a gloved hand at them. "My then, why don't you all come in and make yourself comfortable. We've got a lot of work ahead of us and I want all of you to be ready."
The house on the inside looked just as much the part of a cottage as the outside did, only minus the fancy old china and the frilly adornments that normally filled the homes of the elderly. Muska moved into the kitchen and poured himself a cup of tea, taking a long drink from the steaming cup before raising the pot in offer to the others, of which only Sage took. "Now, gentlemen, as you've said, we have had some rumors of problems with the city and the surrounding wilderness as of late. It seems something is causing the feral pokegirls to act up a bit, as well as there being whisperings of a new Team Rocket clone gaining power underground. While it isn't within my specialty, it behooves me and my employer to take care of these issues as they present themselves."
I don't know what annoys me more, Ren thought, The fact that he looks like he would fit right in at one of my fathers dinner parties or that he's acting like we couldn't add two and two without taking off our shoes. Either way, Ren was becoming annoyed by Muska's behavior. The man continued on about the problems with the City, especially because it was a tourist attraction of sorts and was known to get people from all over the world to see the tree city as it was sometimes called.
"So what you be needing us ta do?" Rave put in, wanting to preempt any more of the mans ongoing talk. Taking the hint, The suited man pulled out a rolled up paper from behind his chair, spreading it out on the coffee table before him, showing a map of the city. "As far as I can discern, most of the issues that we're having is here." at this he pointed his finger at a large building in the middle of the map. "This is the Old Oak Tower, possible the oldest living tree in the world. While the insides were left alone so as not to harm the tree, the branches and natural ruts of the plant have been made into a warehouse district. The idea pretty much flopped as it turns out the citizens and tourists both were against the idea of using the tree for their own personal storage shed. As a result, the warehouses built have been left to gather dust, or in this case, Team Rocket and it's clones."
"So all we need is to go in, take care of the criminals, and we're done?" Sage asked, knowing that there was more then that going on, especially if he and Rave had been called in. Muska shook his blond head, as he pointed to another area on the map, this time off to the left where it appeared to be pretty much open space. "Like I said, this place is an attraction to just about anyone. I've received word that a well known crook may be using the wilderness around the city as a hideout, which might explain the ferals being more of an issue then normal. And if I'm correct on either of these problems, we may just have a good long while before we're able to call it quits."
"So where do we start?" Ren asked.
"We start by searching the warehouses to see if any of the Teams are using them for a hide out. You, however, don't." Muska said, leveling his eyes with the teen. Ren shot a look back at him, confused and now on his guard, a tiny part of him hopping that the well dressed man didn't already suspect him of being a spy.
"It's been my experience that a majority of those sent to me by Cid have no concept of obeying orders." Muska explained, smiling at Ren. "So, to make sure that you aren't one of those kind of people, I'm sending you on a bit of a quest. You are to go into the wilderness and capture a pokegirl to increase your harem, after that you will begin training to improve your skill. While you may have gotten a high score on your Tamer's Exam and captured one girl already, you're no where near experienced enough to be of any use to our plans."
"Sorry to say, Ren, but I have to agree with him." Sage pipped up, crossing his arms as he did so. "You show a lot of promise but you really don't have foundations for you to stand on at the moment."
Ren forced his body not to clench up at the moment, a surge of anger washing trough him. It figured that who ever was in charge of how things happened in life would be dead set on having Ren become a full fledged tamer. Well if I have to be one, then its on my own terms. He thought, giving Muska a nod before turning around. "Fine then, I'll return with a new pokegirl. Is there anything else that will be needed for my training?"
"No, everything else will be supplied for you. And if that's all gentlemen, I say that we should get to work." Muska concluded.
San gave out an exasperated growl, her hand clenching onto her weapon and turning her knuckles white. She had lost that damn gunwoman's trail again! And having lost what little canine like qualities she had at evolution, she was unable to sniff out the bitches scent, which probably ran cold now. But it didn't matter, for San knew she would find the trail again, she knew she would eventually met up with the person responsible for murdering her family, and she knew that she would crush the very life out of that woman with her bare hands.
Ren waved at Plif, calling her over from her high spot atop one of the tree branches, knowing that the girl would remember his earlier instructions on keeping quiet. Ren had decided that he was going to have to take Muska's assignment as seriously as possible, to avoid suspicion as well as hopefully become accepted by the man. With any luck, he'd be able to find out if he worked for any of the Teams and report back to Cid. Until then, though, Ren was out looking for a third pokegirl to add to his harem. Right away he decided not to use Lucita for this, not exactly wanting to end up taming the Flirtit again after she used her powers. It was too much of a hassle and she would be better off having that little weakness of hers hit her when they weren't in the middle of the wilderness.
However, that left him with Plif who, while was more aggressive then one of her kind, appeared to be a normal Cutiepie in every other way, which was a nice way of saying she was weak. Of course, Ren wasn't stupid enough to go after some of the more prominent pokegirls in the area, like a Buzzbreast, without some considerable back up. And if things did get hairy, he would let Lucita fight as well and just deal with fucking the girl later.
As the golden skinned girl dropped soundlessly by his side, Ren pointed to the small river that ran through the cliff side, turning into an equally small waterfall emptying into a pool of water that you normally saw in some of those old romantic movies that a couple would swim naked in. And on the shore, basking in the evening sun, was a pokegirl. Her body a warm pink color, she had her eyes closed and was seemingly ignorant about everything around her, her rather large breasts rising and falling with each breath. With such an appearance, on would think that she would be more alert, though Ren knew that the shell that surrounded her was more then just for decoration. A Shy Maiden.
Pointing at the girl and giving a nod, Plif jumped once more, back up the tree with ease. Having already explained to Plif that her attacks weren't exactly going to do much against an opponent head on, Ren instructed the girl to do a surprise attack. Sneaking above the Shy Maiden, Plif sprayed her String Shot, the sticky webbing fastening strong to the girls shell. Confident in her work, the Cutiepie jumped from her perch, letting her weight bring her down on the pokegirls soft body in a makeshift Tackle attack.
Yelping in surprise and pain, the pink girl reflexively tired closing her shell, only to glance back in surprise, her shell stuck to the ground thanks to the String Shot attack. Unable to escape into the safety of shell, The Shy Maiden focused energy into her hand, the air around it turning frigid as she propelled it into an Ice beam. Plif barely avoided the attack, the ground she once stood upon freezing over while she charged once more, her body striking another solid Tackle on the pink pokegirls body. The Shy Maiden gave a cry of pain, her frail form aching from the attacks.
Ren tossed the pokeball he held in his hand, the sphere bouncing off the girls forehead, drawing her inside before closing. The ball hit the ground, shaking as the Shy Maiden tried to break out, the capture devices warning light blinking as it tried to contain the girl. A moment later the ball stopped, 'pinging' off the girls capture.
"Good job, Plif." Ren said, retrieving his new girl. The insect girl smiled at him, pressing close and giving the teen a soft kiss on the lips. Though slightly thrown off by this show of affection, Ren returned the kiss for a moment, deciding that it would be Plif's reward for doing her job so flawlessly. That train of thought was instantly derailed as an oddly textured hand made its way into Ren's pants. So much for the thought of Plif being normal in every other way. It was clear to him now that the Cutiepie's libido was much higher then what was normal for her species.
Drawing away from his pokegirl, which caused her to pout, Ren started his way back to Muska's, thoughts running through his mind. Muska suspects me... that much is certain. Even though Rave and Sage are hired help, he's probably going to keep them in the blind as well...at least until he's completely sure that we are either no threat to his plan, easily neutralized, or can be persuaded over to his side of the ordeal. What I need to do is to make sure I'm in that latter category.
A rustling of the branches above broke Ren out of his thoughts, a tan skinned pokegirl dropping from the leaves, a skull mask covering her face that showed only her anger filled eyes and frowning mouth. She raised an odd weapon, looking almost like a bokken except more rounded, and pointed it straight at him and Plif. What ever her species was, Ren wasn't going to try for his pokedex to find out. Plif remained steady by his side, ready to attack at her tamers order or the odd pokegirls provoke. "What do you know of this area, male?" she growled, her teeth gritted.
"Little. I've just arrived here myself. Why do you wish to know?" Ren replied. The girl looked like she could easily kill him if she wanted to, but Ren knew that unless you were insane there was a reason that you would became that angry. Of course, Ren was basing this without knowing her species, which could be the root of her anger.
"I'm search for a woman skilled with firearms and trailed her here. I mean to kill her." The girl stated, revealing as little information as she dared. Revenge. Ren thought, weighing his thoughts before speaking. He wasn't going to try and stop the girl from killing the woman she sought after, not unless he was wanting to be on the other end of that weapon of hers. For all he knew, she was justified in going after the woman. It wasn't his place to get involved.
"Is she a Pokewoman? From what you've said so far, it almost sounds like your going after a human woman." Ren said, unable to say anymore.
"She's human, not that it matters. I'm still going to kill that damned piece of Team trash!" The girl seethed, gripping her weapon even more.
"Team trash?" Ren questioned, a thought running through his mind. "She wouldn't happen to be a Team Rocket member, would she?"
"She's part of a Team, but weather it's Rocket or not I don't give a damn!" The pokegirl shouted, glaring once more at Ren. The tamer nodded in understanding. It was clear that who ever this woman was, she was clearly responsible for so much anger in the pokegirl. He could also now fathom a guess at her species, taking her attitude, weapons, and want for revenge into consideration which placed her as a dead ringer for the Cudildo Pokegirl. And if the Pokegirl was right and the woman was here while working for one of the Teams; then the woman might also be working with Muska...that is if Muska was apart of the Team's at all. Too many ifs...Ren didn't like it. Nodding to himself, Ren looked up at the pokegirl.
"What do you think about having some help?"
