Levii: Well here\'s the next chapter... oh and that Spike/Rain scene that was suggested where Faye walks in on a \'moment of passion\' between the two of them is very interesting.... i think i\'ll try that... >_<
Rain
Chapter 4: Questions
He knew what he had done was wrong. He still loved her, but she had fled. He had arranged for her to be cast out of the syndicate to protect her. She was his! She didn’t have to be used for the Red Dragons’ dirty work any more. Then, she had disappeared. She had abandoned him! He searched to no end until he found her. She was with HIM! Why did his women always run to HIM? First Julia and now Eve! Of course she was no longer called that. She was no longer the shadow that lurked behind the syndicate’s enemies any longer; she now held a name that suited her. She was Rain now. But she had to be taught a lesson. No one runs from him! That’s why he had arranged that she be shot with a poisoned dart while she was fighting a bounty head. Silently, he watched her as his nemesis carried her inside the hospital. She was still as beautiful as a sunbeam that manages to escape through the clouds. She was still the same rain goddess.
She would be his once again. He would not be denied her again.

Rain groaned as she came to. She felt as though she had been smacked with a nine iron, either that or Ed’s tomato. Slowly, she glanced about the room as her vision focused. Spike was sprawled out in a chair beside her, Faye, next to him. She smiled as she noticed that Faye’s hand was linked with his. If anyone deserved happiness together, it was them. She then continued to examine the room she was in. Ed was hanging upside down from a windowsill, asleep. She wasn’t really surprised. She then noticed that she was no longer on the ship.
“Where the hell am I?” she asked out loud.
“Hospital,” a deep voice answered as Jet appeared in the doorway.
Rain smiled to the older man. “What happened?”
“Someone managed to poison you,” he said as he grabbed a nearby chair and pulled it up beside her before sitting down.
Rain sat up quickly. “What?!”
“Hey, calm down, you’re okay now,” Jet consoled. “There’s nothing you can do about it now. The docs got you he antidote right away. Don’t worry.”
“Sure,” she said sarcastically. “Next time you get injured, I’ll say ‘don’t worry’ and you tell me if you feel instantly better.”
Jet rolled his eyes. “Don’t get pissy. You can be such a brat sometimes.”
“I am not a brat!”
“Look at you, you even pout like a stubborn child!” he teased.
“This coming from you? I’ve seen you pout, big guy.”
Jet shook his head. “I have no idea as to what you’re talking about.”
Rain raised an eyebrow. “Uh huh, sure Jet.”
“You know, you mean a lot to us, to me, we all got scared that you were gonna die. None of us wanted to lose you.”
“Is my cooking really that much of an improvement to yours?” she asked.
“I’m serious, Rain! I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you,” he confessed, his voice trailing off towards the end.
Rain placed a hand on his cheek and smiled. “I know, Jet. You guys are family to me.”
Jet smiled back to the beautiful woman before him. slowly, they leaned in towards one another until they were a breath apart.
“Well, well, looks who’s up,” Spike’s voice interrupted, causing them both to jump.
“God damn it, Spike! You nearly gave me a freaking heart attack!” Rain shouted.
“Was I interrupting a personal moment?” he teased.
“Shut up, Spike! I wouldn’t talk with the way you and Faye have been sneaking around,” Rain shot.
Spike blushed. “Uh… I have no idea as to what you’re talking about!”
“Uh huh, and you two just happened to fall onto each other’s lips a few nights ago?” she asked.
Jet snickered and covered his mouth with his hand as Spike squirmed and attempted to evade Rain’s questions. By this time, both Ed and Faye were now awake and watching a fully awake and mirthful Rain tease Spike mercilessly.
“So, answer my question, Spike. Were the two of you kissing each other the other night or were you two just practicing CPR with your tongues?” she asked.
Spike was now completely red. Faye was blushing now as well, knowing that now Rain knew of their little ‘incident’ a few nights earlier.
Rain was grinning like a cheshire cat. but within her mind ran questions that no one knew the answer to. Who had poisoned her and why?

Levii: Muahahaha! another finished! who do ya\'ll think poisoned Rain? if it isn\'t obvious, you were\'nt paying attention... oh and Rain and Jet? possibility... until next time friends!
