The Saddest Song

Nagi entered the apartment. He had just returned from his fourth date with Dark. The more he was around Dark, the more guilty he was beginning to feel. Even constantly telling himself it was for the team was only making him feel worse. If it were for the team, why was he the one doing it?
He removed his coat, hanging it up. The rest of the apartment was quiet, which meant Schuldig wasn’t home yet. Whoever got back first would wait for the other to return, then they would go over what they discovered. Massen Genozid was already entering their third week of touring, and neither Nagi nor Schuldig had managed to come up with something that might help them.
Nagi went to his room, throwing himself down on the bed. He screamed out his frustration into the pillow for a good fifteen minutes. He didn’t even notice someone else in his room, until he had calmed down. That was when he felt the weight of the bed sag, indicating there was another body with him.
With a sigh, Nagi sat up on his knees. He stared at the wall above his bed. He really did not want to do this. He could not take their lives. Especially since they had their entire life ahead of them. He turned around, and sat so he face the door. He glanced at Schuldig, who looked worn.
‘I’m with you. Unfortunately, it’s them or us. They know that, and they also know what choice we will make.’ Schuldig rubbed his eyes with his hands, feeling older than his age.
Nagi brought his knees to his chest and hugged them. ‘Do you think we’ll make the right decision?’
Schuldig stared at nothing. He had been wondering that himself for quite a while. In all actuality, he would rather his life be taken. But for some reason, he felt that his life would be more important in the future. He couldn’t explain it. He did want to understand it, but knew he wouldn’t anytime soon.
He stood from the bed, and looked down at Nagi. He shrugged his shoulders and left the room, going across the hall to his. He laid on his bed, gazing at the ceiling, thinking of everything that had happened in the last week and a half. He couldn’t help himself. He was getting too close to Krad. Most likely the same way that Nagi was to Dark.
He was so lost in his thought that he didn’t notice his phone vibrating against his thigh. When he did, it scared the hell out of him. He pulled it out and looked at the number. He rolled his eyes, and didn’t bother to answer the device. He turned it off and put it on the bedside chest.
Schuldig turned onto his side, ignoring Crawford’s voice in his head. He did not want to deal with the uptight leader of Schwarz right now. Not while he had so much going on. With a groan, Schuldig attempted to sleep, though he knew he would get very little.

‘Where have you been?’
Krad was not, in the least bit, surprised to see Omi standing before the balcony doors, waiting for him. He knew he was in for an ear-lashing when he got home. So much so, that he even contemplated staying out for the entire night. But he knew that would make things worse.
With a confident smile, Krad simply answered with, ‘On a date.’
Omi’s eyes widened. ‘Your life could be taken at any moment you’re not around us, and instead of staying in, you and your brother disappear almost every night! It’s like – It’s like babysitting teenagers!;
‘Ah, FYI, we are teenagers. Dark und I are seventeen.’ Krad removed his scarf, which was now drenched due to the rain.
Omi lowered his eyes. He had a feeling he was not going to be able to get through to Dark or Krad. Both teens seemed determine to what they liked, as if they…As if they didn’t care if they died or not. It was a troubling thought. But not one that was going to keep him up at night.
Deciding he was going to get as far with Krad as he did with Dark, Omi left the room, shaking his head. He couldn’t help but feel as though Dark and Krad knew something and weren’t telling them. Oh well. It was their business. But if it endangered their lives, they should come forward.
Krad watched the older teen leave the room. He knew that Omi would blame himself for their death, but it was something that had to happen. He went to the stained glassed balcony doors and opened them. He was expecting a visitor, who appeared a minute later. When his visitor was in the room, Krad closed the doors, locking them.
Krad stared out the doors, watching the rain run down the glass. Their third concert was tomorrow, then next week would be their final, once and for all. His finger followed the line of one raindrop, before he shook his head. He smiled, when he felt warm arms around his shoulders.
‘What are you thinking about?’
‘How alike to the rain we are.’
Schuldig frowned. ‘What do you mean?’
‘We are like the rain. Pure, until we touch something, then we become tainted.’
‘But the rain cleanses.’
Krad smiled, shaking his head. ‘Not everyone or thing. It is our choice to be impure. The rain has no say. It must become tainted.’
Schuldig tightened his hold on Krad. ‘Then we are not like the rain. We have a choice, the rain does not.’
‘But the rain is pure to begin with, just like we are. Then it touches something or someone and becomes dirty. Much like us. We do something and we become dirty. We lie, steal, murder, have affairs, disrespect our neighbors. In one life time, a person is capable of breaking the Ten Commandments at least three times over.’
Schuldig rested his head atop Krad’s. ‘How many of them and how times have you broken them?’
‘I’ve lost count. I’m pretty sure I have broken nine of them.’ Krad turned his head slightly. ‘You?’
‘I don’t know. I’ve never thought about. A person that I…know, really hates God, though. So, I try to think about it as little as possible.’ Schuldig moved Krad’s hair from his neck, and placed a soft kiss there. ‘You should be getting to bed. You have a big day tomorrow.’
‘See you after the concert?’ Krad turned around in Schuldig’s arms, looking into his amazing emerald eyes.
Schuldig smirked, kissing Krad’s forehead. ‘Don’t you always?’ he asked, his lips still pressed to Krad’s forehead.
‘Smart-ass.’ Krad grinned.
‘Ahh, but that’s why you love me.’ He kissed Krad’s forehead again, before stepping back. ‘See you tomorrow.’ He opened the balcony doors, disappearing into the night.
Krad watched him go, before sighing and closing the doors again. He removed his clothing, before crawling into bed. True, he did have a big day tomorrow. It was the second last concert. Still. He could have stay for a while longer. Krad shook his head, feeling like a teen with a crush on his teacher.

‘Ich bin dort, wenn die Welt stoppt sich zu drehen
Ich bin dort, wenn der Sturm durch ist
Im Ende
Ich bin immer mit Ihnen.’
‘New song?’
Krad glanced over his shoulder at Omi, smiling. ‘Nein.’
Omi frowned with perplexity. It had sounded beautiful. He wondered why they weren’t going to make it into a song. But thought it was best not to ask. He would never understand Europeans anyway. He didn’t need the headache of trying to.
‘Dark und I don’t have much time. We have a concert tonight, then we have to pack up and get ready to move to another hotel. Besides…ein neues Lied ist die letzte Sache auf unserem Verstand, besonders mit Tod auf seiner Weise zu uns.’ Krad purposely said the last part in German, knowing that Omi wouldn’t understand it.
‘Okay. Anyway, we were wondering if you were going to be joining us for breakfast?’
Krad nodded, sighing when thunder sounded overhead. ‘I’ll be down shortly.’ When Omi left the room, Krad shook his head. That kid is going to break a lot of hearts if he keeps this up.
After quickly combing and braiding his hair, Krad dressed, not bothering with his shoes, then left the room, after glancing around. He smirked, but closed the door. And Aya is still going to be a suspicious bastard. Yohji will forever remain a playboy. Ken will actually settle down. These guys have long, healthy lives ahead of them at least.

Okay, so I still haven’t received any reviews. I’m beginning to wonder if I should just stop writing. Screw it, I think I will. I’ve had enough of busting my ass and brain to get nothing from you jerks! If you’re going to read something, at least tell the person what you think of it!
Until next time…T T F N! Ta, ta for now.
