Chapter 3

An hour or so later, Simkin and a newly tamed Peekabu, whom he named Patricia and now wearing a spare shirt, walked out of the small room, a bemused grin on Simkin's face. Not seeing Cypress, he made his way out of the building, his arm around his 'girl. Walking out the door and towards his house, where he wanted to introduce his Patricia to his mom, when Patricia let out a small hiss and pushed Simkin away before being tackled by a brown blur.

“Get her, girl!” an obnoxious voice called after a short chuckle. Looking up, Simkin saw Grady looking down at him, a big smirk on his face. “I told you it wasn't over, Little Simmy,” he sneered, pointing over to the fight.

Following his pointing finger, Simkin saw Patricia struggling underneath Grady's Eva. However, the Eva wasn't doing much other than holding her down, not quite sure what to do in a fight. Seeing her hesitate, Simkin yelled over to Patricia, “Thundershock!!!” Squeezing her eyes in concentration, Patricia grabbed the Eva's head and squealed, sending the electrical currents at the Eva's head. Screaming in pain, the Eva rolled off of Patricia and shook, the fur on her body standing straight up on end. Rushing over to Patricia, Simkin helped her up and made sure she was okay.

“Are you alright, Patricia??” he asked worriedly, looking her up and down to check for injuries. “She didn't hurt you, did she?”

Patricia shook her head, glaring at the Eva still suffering spasms on the ground. “Eva didn't hurt Patricia,” she said, walking over to her and kicking her in the ribs. Simkin pulled her back before she could kick her again. Looking at Grady, he saw him with a dazed look on his face, unable to grasp his loss.
Simkin spit in his direction, seriously pissed off. “Serves you right, you son-of-a-bitch. Just be glad this wasn't a salvage battle,” he said, walking with Patricia away.
