Disclaimer: I don't own Lies: Evanescence either. I just happen to like that particular part of the lyrics and how well it goes with this chapter.

It's nearly dark when the Vulpix returns, a pair of dark blue jeans in her mouth. As she drops them at Nameless' feet, the hybrid smiles at her, his eyes soft and warm again.

     "Thank you Jeovi. You're a true friend, you know that?" Nameless comments softly, tears almost filling his eyes at the realization that he's no longer alone in the world. As he puts on the pair of jeans and zips them up, he's aware of how strange he looks, a short furred, dark skinned Zoroark with humanoid eyes, wearing human clothing. As Jeovi looks up at him, she can see his eyes changing as he loses himself in thought and she decides to leave him alone.

     As Jeovi walks back to the den, she's aware for the first time, that she's found somebody who really doesn't judge her for her fighting ability, only for her heart. As she sighs and curls up with her tails covering her and cushioning her head, she's aware of Nameless coming into the den, now a tight fit for the larger hybrid, and curling up around her, his hair draping over her like a blanket.

     "Good night Jeovi, sleep well." Nameless whispers as he gently strokes the fox's back with his long claws. Jeovi shudders as she feels his claws across her fur, but it isn't a bad shudder. As she looks up at Nameless with her eyes sparkling, she's aware of his gaze fixed on her.

     "Good night Nameless. I hope you find peace in your dreams." She replies, knowing that for a long time his dreams have been plagued by nightmares. Nameless smiles gently at her, his fearsome appearance softening as he gazes at the Vulpix female, before he rolls over and falls asleep beside her.

     As dawn breaks and the forest fills with the chirping of Pidgey and Spearow, Jeovi wakes to find Nameless already out of the den. As she looks, she's aware that the Zoroark hybrid is muttering to himself while picking at a freshly killed Stantler. As he carves some of the meat off the body and slices it into thin strips to dry, his voice reaches Jeovi, and she realizes that he's singing.

"You'll never be strong enough,

You'll never be good enough,

You were never conceived in love,

You will not rise above.

They'll never see,

I'll never be,

I struggle on and on to feed this hunger

burning deep inside of me."

     As Jeovi hears the words of Nameless' song, she can't stop herself from running to him and nuzzling against him, causing him to stop his tearing of the Stantler carcass.

     "Jeovi, what brought this on?" Nameless asks, shocked as the Vulpix female repeatedly nuzzles his side. As he looks down at her, he can see tears in her eyes.

     "Nameless, you shouldn't have to be alone like that. I can't imagine you doing anything to deserve such horrid treatment. Even if the world hates you, I never could. I love you Nameless." With those words spoken, Jeovi betrays her deepest thoughts. Nameless looks at her with wide eyes, his body trembling as he looks at the younger fox.

     "Jeovi, you shouldn't say things like that. Not to me. Not to a freak." Nameless comments, his eyes closing as he rises from the carcass and runs off into the woods, leaving a stunned Vulpix staring after him in disbelief. Unknown to Nameless, Jeovi means every word, and so she sits and waits for him to return all night.

     By the morning, Nameless returns to his den, expecting that the Vulpix he saved will be long gone, hating him for running. What he sees, however, is that Vulpix sitting in front of the tree den with bloodshot eyes after not having slept all night. As Nameless walks towards her, Jeovi cries out before running to him and collapsing in tears against his body.

     "Jeovi, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said those things to you last night, but I was scared. Nobody ever loved me before." He comments softly, causing Jeovi to smack him with one of her six tails before growling at him angrily.

     "You idiot! I told you I love you. What did you think I was joking or something?! I was worr…you DID think I was joking, didn't you?" Jeovi suddenly stops in mid sentence before realization floods her, causing a horrified expression to cross her mind before she gently nuzzles the Zoroark hybrid.

     "I don't joke about things like that, Nameless. I never could." She replies softly before looking around, noticing that the forest is strangely silent.

     "Nameless, run. Something's wrong here." Jeovi growls suddenly before tail whipping Nameless into moving. As soon as the pair begins running, a Lucario and Weavile come racing through the woods.

     "Jeovi, what's wrong, why are they chasing us?!" Nameless asks, before he leaps into the branches of a tree while Jeovi follows on the ground.

     "There's a trainer coming, he wants to capture Pokémon from these woods, and the two of us aren't native to this area, he'll think we're rare or something. Circle back and get to the den!" Jeovi calls before she turns and goes a different direction from Nameless. Nameless doesn't look back as he turns and goes towards the den, as he enters, he turns back and looks with horror as the Weavile slices through Jeovi's injured limb and sends her tumbling before she can reach the opening of the den. Before Nameless can react, a sphere flies through the air and envelopes Jeovi in red light before sucking her in. The last thing Jeovi says to the hybrid is a cry for him. As Nameless watches in shock, a trainer picks up the sphere and opens another, a large dragon shape emerging only to fly them all away from the forest.

A/N: Sorry it's taken so long to update. I've finished my certification exam and now have a week of doing nothing until I find out whether I pass or fail. ^_^
