~~**Forever Caged**~~
Katze sighed as he watched how Niko gingerly stepped around Raoul, as if trying to making sure that his movements were slow and un-note worthy. The boy had done everything he could to make sure that Raoul wouldn’t find fault in anything he did. In the past four days Katze had left himself open for the boy to play a prank on him, even set up opportunities for him, but they were wasted efforts.
Raoul had scolded the boy so harshly the day he had caught him in bed with Sir Gabriel that Katze was beginning to believe that Raoul scared the boy so badly that he would be like this forever…and that wouldn’t do. It had been amusing at first, the peace and quiet. But enough was enough.
The way Raoul was acting towards Niko was strange, and one could also say it was hypercritical. The Blondie clearly overreacted over the surprising romance between the two, and if he thought by keeping Niko from leaving the apartment would keep those two apart…well, Raoul had only to look back at Iason and his own history, and how effective it had been keeping them away from the object of their desires.
But trying to get Raoul to see the faultiness of his actions was just the topping of his headache. Manipulating Blondies was just as stressful as he thought it was going to be when he suggested to Sir Gabriel that he check into the past of mongrels. Katze didn’t know what was going on but after stepping out of the shower and running off to try and stop Raoul from fetching Niko (unsuccessfully) it had snapped into place. There had been an especially difficult text he had decoded, and that information had been aggravatingly deemed worthless, but as he had watched Raoul, who dragged the poor Niko behind him, the words he had translated had alarmingly made sense.
And he had acted swiftly. Telling Gabriel to investigate had been his first step, then when he had seen Jade and Sir Gideon he had acted again without the slightest fear of Iason’s wrath coming down upon his head. The fact that Iason had not immediately sought his presence could only mean that the meeting with Sir Gideon went just as he had hopped it would, although he would have to see the fearsome Blondie soon to explain why he acted without first consulting him.
Katze needed to go though the information, line by line, to make sure he was not mistaken in his translation of the file he had hacked from JupiterTower. It was almost impossible to even think that the words blaring at him from his monitor were true, that Jupiter could be planning such a-
“Where do you think your going?”
Katze turned his amber eyes to Raoul, then to the flinching young Furniture.
“Umm… The party will be in a few days and I still have not gotten Katze’s outfit, and I also have a check-up…” Niko guilty answered, licking his lips nervously.
Party? Katze turned questioning eyes to his Blondie lover. “Party, Raoul? I don’t remember hearing anything about a party or the fact that I would be attending such a function.”
Raoul didn’t take his eyes off Niko. “You will stay in the apartment. I will go and choose Katze’s outfit for the event and I’ll have your medical files sent to me so that I can examine you myself.” Raoul didn’t care if he was being unreasonable, he still could shake the fact that Gabriel had touched his….? Raoul frowned at the uncomfortable feeling he felt; in reality he shouldn’t feel anything. Maybe disgust but that emotion never entered his mind, and by the increasingly annoying knowing golden eyes that was beginning to burn holes into his head, he could see that Katze did know why he was being the way he was, but damn if the red-head would tell him, not that he would most likely listen to him.
“Raoul?” Katze asked, repeating his question, “What party is Niko talking about, and why have I not heard anything about this?”
“It is not that you have not been informed about this, but that you were not listening when I spoke to you about it. You have a way of ignoring me when you are involved in what ever it is you are currently doing.” Raoul hated the fact that he sounded like a neglected lover, but that was what he was and he couldn’t keep it out of his voice.
The Niko incident only escalated Katze’s absentmindedness when it came to them. After he had embarrassed himself by shouting down the hall, his intellectual lover had shut himself away, madly typing on his keyboard, refusing to eat or speak more than a few words to him.
“Well, I am listening now. Would you care to tell me what it is that I would need a new wardrobe for?” Katze in no way wanted to mingle with other Elite’s, not the way his hair was now. While not as long as an Elites it still was considerably long, pass his shoulders, reaching mid back. The most horrifying of all was while walking through the main lobby of Eos he had been bowed at by unknowing young Furniture and even guards that mistook him to be a Ruby.
While he was uncommonly tall for a mongrel, he in no way obtained the pale perfection or that regal, superior, attitude or stance that Elites carried themselves with. It had been a shock. But Raoul loved the length in which his hair currently was, and forbid him to cut it. The last think Katze wanted to do was be paraded around and have hundreds of pairs of eyes watching him. Judging him.
“It is one outfit. And there is nothing to tell you besides that you will be attending,” Raoul testily replied. “Orphe was pressured to set a pet party to introduce all the new pets that we Blondies have purchased. I also know Iason has been hounded with questions about Riki’s absence this past month, and while Iason could care less about the whispers, it is not a good time for him to be secretive – and you will stay in the apartment!” Raoul said, raising his voice to Niko when he saw the boy edge away from them.
“The last think I need right now is to discover that Gabriel has whisked you away to his apartment to-to…” Raoul glared at the boy. “If you have anything you need then you will order it and have it delivered to the apartment.”
Katze sighed. “Raoul…Niko is your Furniture, a servant. The way you are treating him is as if he was your son-“
“Still your words,” Raoul threatened, “not if you want to continue working as peacefully as you have been without my interruption.”
Katze lifted his brows at that. “You would go so far as to do that? Knowing that Iason is waiting for answers from me?”
Niko shifted from foot to foot as his master and Katze stared each other down. He wanted out of the apartment and he was praying that Katze would win the argument so that he could. The memory of Gabriel’s face when his master had taken him away had begun eating at him until he was tempted to disobey and sneak out.
He just wanted to see him one more time, but leaving was proving to be near impossible…. His master was always home, and always watching him like he was some sort of criminal. He tried to be as careful as he could, behaving himself even though it had been considerably hard with all the tempting openings Katze had left him. But no matter how much he tried to making himself into a ghost of a servant, his master always knew when he tried to leave.
Even now, when he had shifted his footing, Master Am’s eyes shot over to him, and although Katze’s aspirated sighs did turn the Blondie’s attention away, he still could not make a move without his movements being tracked. He was stuck where he was…
“I have too much to do to…” Katze trailed off. The words he wanted to say, no matter how he phrased it, would be insulting and with Raoul’s temper the way it was now he couldn’t afford to anger him farther.
“I, myself, have things that need my immediate attention, but they all will have to be put aside,” said Raoul. “Iason also be attending with Riki, as well everyone else.”
Katze glanced over to Niko who gave him a hopeful, pleading, look. “If you have work to do than why are you going to get my ‘outfit’? Niko is here and able to do it, hell Raoul, it’s his job to do these types of things, and you don’t have the proper equipment to look Niko over here in the apartment.”
“My decision is final,” Raoul said throwing his napkin on his plate and standing. “There is nothing more to discus.”
“There is more to discus,” Katze argued, following the madding Blondie as he ventured towards his offices.
Niko jumped when he hard a door slam behind Katze as they disappeared into the office. Normally he would have followed and stood by the door, eavesdropping, but in the situation he was in now with his master, Niko didn’t think it would be wise.
Slowly he cleaned stacked the dirty dishes and moved them to the side, sneaking glances over his shoulder when he heard voices rising. Sighing, Niko picked up the plates only to almost drop them when his name was shouted, ordering him to come.
Running over, Niko stumbled to a stop in front of the now opened office door. Not knowing what to say he just stood there until Raoul and Katze stopped glaring at one another and turned their angered eyes to him, not knowing what to expect since both his master and Katze had a mixture of smug satisfaction and irratation on their face.
“I will still be going to pick out the suit that Katze will be wearing to the party, but Katze’s argument about the cons of me looking you over made me review my decision to do it myself,” Raoul angrily sighed. “What time are you expected at the clinic?”
“In t-ten minutes,” Niko stammered. He didn’t know what Katze said to convince the Blondie, but was thankful, and little worried at what Katze would ask of him for getting Master Am’s permission.
“Then go now, before Raoul changes his mind,” said Katze, ignoring Raoul look of annoyance.
“I’ll go now!” Niko gushed, bowing deeply. “Thank you!”
“You will come right back once your finished!” Raoul shouted after the boy who rushed out the door, ‘tsking’ when his command went unanswered.
Katze tried to quickly follow behind Niko, but was pulled back.
“I don’t think so Katze,” Raoul said as he slowly closed the door. “We had a deal, did we not?”
“….I don’t ever remember agreeing to your terms,” Katze muttered as Raoul to drew him back towards the desk. “If memory serves me correctly, you stated that you would only agree to let Niko go out to his doctor’s appointment if I concentrated only on you for a certain amount of time.”
“Your silence signified your agreement,” Raoul whispered huskily as he trapped Katze between the desk, “and I’ve chosen now to collect.”
“Now is not a good time for me,” Katze breathlessly answered back, shivering when he felt Raoul’s hot breath on his neck.
“And I think,” Raoul replied, gathering Katze’s slim form into his arms, “that words are the least important thing I think you can use your mouth for.”
Katze grunted as Raoul captured his lips as he slowly laid him back onto the desk.
oOoOoOo
Gabriel tapped his foot impatiently as he waited for the elevator doors to open. For the past four days he had been racking his superior Elite brain on Raoul’s pet’s encrypted little message the day Raoul had rudely interrupted his time with Niko.
Gabriel stepped into the elevator, before the doors fully opened, and jabbed at the button to take him to the next two levels up. Glaring at the damn metal doors when they didn’t close fast enough for his tastes, and pacing in the confining space.
Mongrels… he hadn’t known why Katze had hinted about them, but he hadn’t tossed the information aside, but the trouble was that he couldn’t find one shred of Intel about them, other then what was commonly known of the dirty creatures. The only interesting thing that he had found was Sir Iason Mink’s mark when he had discreetly sent a trusted servant out near that area. Each and every time. There was no way around the barricades his fearsome leader placed. No secret that could be dug up, not with knowing Iason had an eagle eye on Ceres.
Which came to his current predicament. He would have to put his Elite pride aside and go to Raoul’s apartment and speak to Raoul with the sole purpose of trying to talk to Katze, and also to see Niko… “Damn Raoul,” Gabriel hissed, the metal side bar he was holding groaned in protest as it was crushed in his punishing hand.
The chiming of the elevator signaling it was stopping had Gabriel straightening up, and stepping in front of the damage he had caused, only to scowl when he saw that the lift had stopped a floor before his destination. Wiping his face clear of any displeasure, Gabriel nodded to Sir Marcus Jayd who stood beyond the doors.
“We are going the wrong damn way!”
Gabriel lifted a brow at the light blue haired boy that was forcefully pulled into the elevator with the high ranking Blondie.
“I told you we are not going to see your brother!”
“Go suck it! I wanna see my brother! You already poked me in the ass! Why do I have to see another damn doctor!”
“Be quiet!”
“Ouch! Stop squeezing my arm! I already have bruises from you spanking me and holding me down!”
Disgruntlements put aside, Gabriel had to control his merit as Marcus covered the boy’s mouth and tried to quietly tell the boy for a second time to cease his chattering. And as much distaste his opinion of mongrels were he couldn’t help but like the spirited boy. He reminded him of Niko. Those mischievous eyes and the way they twinkled up at Marcus.
Oh, the mongrel knew very well that what he said would lead him to believe that Marcus and he could be in a taboo relationship, and from the way he was grabbing Marcus so intimately and brazenly wiggled his brows and winked sneakily at him, the boy was making sure he knew that they were, if he hadn’t already figured it out.
“Having a little but of trouble Marcus?” Gabriel asked with a smile. “Do you need my assistance?”
“No thank you.”
“He looks to be quite the handful,” said Gabriel, ignoring the rudeness of Marcus’s reply. He knew how taxing it was when dealing with someone with such vibrant energy. Niko and the mongrel may be from different backgrounds but with even as little as he had seen, they both had almost the same kind of fire.
“Something I already knew beforehand.” Marcus replied curtly.
“Very nice. Who’s the stud Marcus? Aren’t you going to introduce us?”
Gabriel’s smiled widened at the boy’s flirtatious words, and it widened still when he saw how it bothered Marcus. “Yes. Won’t you be so kind and introduce us?”
“No, I will not.”
“Come on Marcus. I like him. He looks like he knows how to have fun.”
“Oh, I am very fun.” Gabriel could help himself as he gave the boy a elegant bow and returned the wink the mongrel gave him with one of his own, all to watch the fires of jealousy ignite in Marcus’s spring green eyes. It was entertaining to see it and not be the one feeling it.
“Sir Gabriel I would strongly advise you to not speak to my pet.”
“Getting a little territorial, aren’t you,” commented Gabriel, not bothering to hide the mirth from his tones.
“Isn’t he? Such scandalous behavior for an Elite.”
“Who are you visiting Gabriel? I see that you are headed to the same floor as I am. You can’t be going to see Mikhale, since he has not returned yet, nor can I envision that your on your way to see Gideon.”
“Changing the subject Marcus?” questioned Gabriel.
“Yes, I am, and I strongly suggest you do the same.”
“I am going to see Sir Am regarding a matter of importance,” replied Gabriel, still smiling over the outrageous actions of the mongrel boy trying his hardest to dodge Marcus’s restraining hands, while at the same time Marcus was trying to do the same with the mongrel’s groping.
“I wasn’t aware that Raoul’s department was undergoing development.”
Gabriel graciously backed down from his playful harassment when the Blondie glared warningly at him. “It’s not. I’m going to see Raoul for a personal matter.”
“It’s that the dope that you wanna see too Marco?”
“Do not call me Marco or I’ll-!”
The rest of Marcus’s threat was cut off once the elevator doors opened and the boy spot off down the hall. Gabriel would have caught the mongrel as he passed him, but it was the person the mongrel slammed into that had held his attention. The shock he felt wasn’t because the person the mongrel crashed onto the floor was Niko, but because Marcus’s pet mongrel called out Niko’s name…
oOoOoOo
Tumbling to the floor, the wind knocked out of him, it took a moment before Niko realized who had slammed into him.
“Ni, Ni!”
Blinking up into shining storm grey eyes, Niko expelled a shaky breath when he realized who was sitting on him. “Keita…”
“Niko, I thought you had died! What are you doing here….”
Niko’s eyes widened when he felt Keita’s hands franticly reach between his legs, and gave a high pitched squeak when his blue haired playmate from Guardian, hands closed around his privates. “Keita! What are you doing!” Niko whispered, trying to get the mongrel to let him go.
“Oh, thank god….”
Niko stared up in confusion when Keita leaned down and touched his forehead with his own. “Keita?”
“Damn it, Sky!”
Sucking in a breath filled with fear, Niko jerked his head to the side to see Sir Marcus Jayd….and next to Sir Jayd was Gabriel.
Niko franticly tried to push Keita, who was happily touching his hair and face, but his attempts weren’t needed as Keita was yanked off of him by his Blondie, and he also was quite painfully grabbed by his arm and pulled up by Gabriel, and pinned to the wall by the enraged Elite.
“What are you doing asshole! Let Niko go!”
There have been many people Niko has pissed off in his life, and the main person that the receiving end of all his pranks had been Gabriel…but of all the things he had done to the Blondie he had never seen such a look of savageness from the Elite. The way his eyes blazed with almost unnatural light…
“How does he know your name Niko? And most importantly, how is it that you know his?” questioned Gabriel softly.
“Let go of me Marcus! Make his stop hurting him or I’ll make your life a living hell!”
“For crying out loud… Gabriel, is it there a reason why your speaking to Raoul’s Furniture in such a way? For that matter, what business is it of yours to demand answers from him- questions that you, Sky, will be answering very shortly.”
Niko’s lips trembled in fear, trying to turn his head away from Gabriel’s fierce, searching, glaze. “Sir Lazen… please release me…”
“Don’t back down from that stooge Niko!”
Niko looked at Keita who tried his hardest to struggle free from the Blondie’s arms, and shook his head franticly to try and get Keita to stop talking, pleading with his eyes for him to shut up.
“Such familiarity with one another… Sir Jayd, would you please give me a moment with Sir Am’s Furniture?”
“A moment is all that you will have. Once I’ve reached Raoul’s residence I will be forced to inform him of your actions.”
Niko watched as Sir Jayd literally tucked Keita’s struggling body under his arm and smoothly walk away. His friend shouting all the way.
“You know him…but how would a Furniture know a mongrel?”
Niko shivered when Gabriel forced him to look up at him. “He’s just mistaken, that’s all.”
“Next your going to tell me that you must have mistaken him as someone else too, aren’t you? You seemed to know his name.”
Niko opened and closed his mouth numerous times, but no words came out. He couldn’t think of a good excuse to give the Blondie. “Please Sir Gabr-“
“You’re a mongrel.”
Suddenly released, Niko slid down to the floor. His heart thundering in his chest painfully at how the Blondie distanced himself away from him.
“I was detaining you from where you were going. You can be on your way now.”
Licking his lips, blinking back the tears that filled his eyes at the coldness of Gabriel’s tone, Niko stood on shaky legs and bowed. “Good day to you Sir Lazen…”
With his head down Niko never saw the dangerous smile that spread across Gabriel’s lips, and in his haste to get away he never heard the Elite’s whispered words.
“I got you now.”
