Chapter Five: Consequenses

Rain\'s eyebrow twitched as she entered the living room of the Bebop. \'I leave for one week and they turn the place into a sty.\' she thought to herself as she looked over at her bed ridden compatiroits. \"Problems?\" she asked.

\"Rain!\" a cheerful voice cried as Ed stumbled into the room.

\"Hey, Ed. What is it with them being bedridden. First, I find Spike floating near an airlock, the ships gravity is turned off, and then I find these three out like broken lightbulbs in the middle of the room. What the hell?\"

\"Oh, they all got bit by the alien!\" Ed explained.

Rain ed aed an eyebrow and slapped her hand to her forehead. \"What?\"

\"Yup, they were all attacked by the spooky space alien!\" Ed said in a weird voice.

\"Uh huh,\" she grunted as she then examined her unconsious friends. \"Ed?\"

\"Yeah?\"

\"This was not caused by an alien.\"

\"Oh... okay!\" she said with a smile as she danced off to another part of the ship.

Rain rolled her eyes. \"What would you guys do without me?\"

Rain removed the last of her ciggarette from her mouth as she let out a line of smoke. she then tossed the butt away and quickly moved inside the warmth of the familiar bar. Rain smiled as she was greeted by the lilting tune of a saxaphone onstage. It was Grin.

Slowly, she moved towards the stage, taking the nearest free stool and sitting. The bartender smirked to Rain. \"Been a while,\" he greeted.

Rain nodded. \"Yeah, but that was when I was someone else.\"

\"I heard that the dragon died, didn\'t believe it though,\" he commented.

\"Oh, the dragon is dead. I\'m just called Rain now.\"

The bartender nodded. \"Suits you. You want the same as last time?\"

She nodded. \"Yeah, could use a bit of the old shine to warm me up. I also need to ask you something.\"

\"Whatcha\' need?\" he asked.

\"Have you seen a woman in here? wearing an indecently short and yellow outfit? Black/violet hair, with a bomber\'s jacket on?\"

\"Yeah? What of her?\"

\"I\'ve been looking for her. She\'s a friend of mine that I need to set things right with.\"

The bartender went deep into thought as he finished making her drink. \"She left a while ago, right after talking with Grin.\"

Rain sighed. \"Oh boy.\"

\"Long time, no see, Eve,\" a deep voice said from behind her.

Rain spun around and glared at the man before her. \"If you weren\'t so cute, I\'d shoot you. I don\'t go by that name any more. I\'m Rain now.\"

Grin smiled. \"I think it suits you.\"

\"It should... There was a woman here earlier, wearing yellow, possibly making trouble?\" she started.

\"The fairy?\" he asked.

Rain gave Grin a quizzical look. \"Fairy? You were using that line?\" she asked.

\"Didn\'t work, she said she already was one,\" he joked.

\"Faye... yeah, she could be considered a fairy. Could you help me find her?\" she asked.

\"Why? She your girlfriend?\"

\"No, just a friend. There was a misunderstanding, between us, involving her current boy, and she left.\"

\"Rain, the word misunderstanding, associated with yourself, is never good. What\'d you do? Sleep with him and she walked in?\" he asked.

\"Same situation, no sex.\"

\"So, making out with him and she walked in?\"

\"Bingo! Thing is, I\'m not intersted in him that way, I already have a guy I\'m trying to attract.\"

\"So? What happened?\"

\"Well...\" Rain began.

Levii: Whooo! I Posted! Oh and if ya\'ll are wondering... this happens after \"Toys in the Attic\"... I always wondered what the hell happened after they landed on Mars... Well, this was my explaination. As for Rain\'s relationship with Grin? Well, you\'ll just have to ponder that one for a bit... oh, and has anyone figured out who poisoned Rain?
