"Shunrei, may I talk to you?"
She looked up from her bag.
re yre you packing?"
Shunrei smiled at the tall, black-haired youth standing at her door. "I'm leaving for China this afternoon," she replied.
"So soon? But…why?" asked Shiryu.
"The Old Master needs me, Shiryu. I know he can take care of himself, but I always worry about him when I'm away," the girl explained as she continued to stack neatly folded clothing into her suitcase. "What did you want to talk about?"
Shiryu had resolved to speak to Shunrei regarding his feelings for her, and how his feelings for Seiya were different…and stronger. But as he stood in her presence, Shiryu discovered it was far more difficult than he imagined.
Shunrei waited patiently, but finally finished packing. She sat down on her bed and patted the spot next to her. Shiryu accepted the invitation, but still could not find his voice. He bowed his head and pretended to study his fingernails. Shunrei glanced at the young Saint several times, but was met with only silence. She knew it would be up to her to break the tension.
"Shiryu, you know you can tell me everything."
The Dragon bit his lips. "I don't know where to start. I'm afraid what I have to say will hurt you."
Shunrei sighed. "If it's about Seiya, I already know..."
Shiryu's eyes opened wide. "WHAT? But…how? I mean, what makes you say that?"
Shunrei laughed softly. "Shiryu, we've know each other for six years. I know you more than you think. You have feelings for Seiya…more than friendly feelings..."
Shiryu frowned. "Does EVERYONE know about it? First Shun and Hyoga, now you! Next I’m going to find out all of Sanctuary knows!" He paused. "Sorry, I shouldn't take it out on you."
"Have you spoken to him?" Shunrei asked sympathetically.
Shiryu sighed deeply. "I tried, but...I'm afraid..."
Shunrei reached out and took his hand. "Afraid?"
"I'm afraid he's going laugh at me…like ‘Ha ha, Shiryu! That's a good one! Now get away from me.’"
Shunrei leaned her head against his shoulder. "My brave Dragon, look into your heart. Do you really think he'll say that?"
Shiryu thought about it. She was right. Seiya had never been cross with him. He had seen the Pegasus Saint lose his temper with Hyoga and Ikki, and even snap at Shun once or twice, but Seiya had never raised his voice at him. It seemed they always saw things eye to eye. Perhaps Seiya was as frightened as he was…maybe even more so since Shiryu at least had Shunrei in his life.
"I see your point." Shiryu admitted. "I... I just don't know how to tell him."
"You'll know what to say when the time is right. Why don't you two go out on a date?"
Shiryu raised an eyebrow. "A date?"
"Well, you don't have to call it a date. Why don't you make it a group thing with Hyoga, Shun and Seiya? It’ll just be a casual get together, and when you feel relaxed enough, you can finally talk to him. So, what do you think?"
"Sounds okay to me. Um…where should we go?" Shiryu wondered aloud.
"Keep it simple. You know, like dinner and a movie. Isn't the third Star Wars movie out yet?"
"Seiya did say he wanted to see that," Shiryu smiled.
"Perfect! Why don’t you go ask him right now?"
"I will! Thank you, Shunrei. I...just…thank you for understanding." He kissed her softly on the cheek.
She smiled. "No need to thank me. I want to see you happy! It’s the only thing that really matters!"
*******************************
"Nooo! No! Get away!" moaned Ikki, thrashing in his sleep. He couldn't wake up from the nightmare that plagued him over and over.
Guilty had him pinned down, and he was powerless to stop him. His sensei gloated.
"It's your own fault you know! Yes, it is your fault, you little tramp..."
"YOU LIE! STOP IT! GET OFF ME!"
"Shut up!"
Guilty slapped him with such brutal force that Ikki felt certain the man was trying to knock his head off. The boy almost wished he had. He prayed for anything to stop the agonizing humiliation again. Ikki tasted blood in his mouth as Guilty’s callused hands immobilized his arms. Hot tears spilled down his cheeks, but young Ikki couldn't stop them.
Why? He kept asking himself. Why?
"You look like a little slut when you cry," Guilty sneered. "Do you really think that's going to stop me, Ikki?"
"AAAH!" Searing pain tore through his body, and shame that burned his cheeks red.
"ENOUGH!"
The voice was familiar, but it wasn't Guilty. In a blinding white light, his merciless teacher had disappeared.
"AAH!"
Ikki bolted upright in his bed, panting and shivering as bile rose in the back of his throat. He struggled to calm himself, but his heart was a jackhammer, and he was hyperventilating. What was wrong with him? He felt sick to his stomach and ran to the bathroom to vomit. He kneeled on the cool tiles, gripping the rim of the gleaming white porcelain toilet. Though it was a false alarm, his heart continued to pound violently, and his head swam with nausea.
He sat down on the floor and took a couple of deep breaths to steady his nerves. He hated those dreams and the past he was trying to forget. But the more he tried to forget, the more fiercely those memories would flare, defiant.
It's as if I’ve been struck by my own attack…
Could it be an unknown side effect of his powers? Ikki brooded over the irony. He was capable of exposing people to their worst fears, yet he was now being tortured by his own horrific past.
He hugged his shoulders, wishing for an escape from his torment, but he was alone in his misery. Shun and the others all believed he was the strongest, and he couldn't let them down. He wanted to cry, but his pride wouldn’t allow it. Ikki rose to his feet, moved to the sink and splashed cold water onto his face, but it did little to ease his anxiety. He needed a shower to clear his mind.
****************************
Milo had a good night, relatively speaking, and as he headed downstairs for breakfast, he encountered Mu. Though the lilac-haired Saint was not known for holding grudges, he appeared annoyed with Milo.
What do you know? He is human after all.
Aiolia and Aldebaran cheerily greeted Milo as he entered the kitchen. The Scorpio Saint was quite surprised to see Shaka working at the stove.
"Buddha is cooking tonight?" he laughed. "Hey, Shaka! How are you able to slice up stuff without cutting yourself if you keep your eyes closed all the time?"
Aiolia couldn't help but laugh, and Aldebaran joined him briefly, but stopped with a feigned cough as he felt Shaka's Cosmo momentarily flare.
"If you don't trust my cooking, Milo, you don't have to join us tonight." He sniffed the air. "I am truly amazed. You don’t smell of drugs or alcohol this morning!"
Milo's good humor vanished like dew on a rock in the scorching desert. "Well, I’m surprised that the Almighty Shaka has lowered himself by actually cooking a meal!"
"There is nothing debasing about it, Milo. It's a pleasure to prepare foods for friends and for our hostess. And I do enjoy cooking, and if you weren't so self-centered, you would have noticed."
Milo didn't know what was more infuriating, Shaka's tone or the fact that the bastard didn't even look at him once during the whole altercation.
Self-centered! Milo echoed to himself, fuming. He should talk!
As he struggled to think of a biting comeback, Ikki suddenly stumbled in and quickly sat on a stool at the center utility island, his face pale and sweaty. Aiolia and Aldebaran took immediate notice of his condition.
"You don’t look well, Ikki," Aldebaran observed in a gentle but strong voice.
"I think he's running a fever," Aiolia added. He was about to comment further, but was startled by the sight of Shaka rushing to Ikki's side.
The blond Saint placed a careful hand to Ikki's forehead. Aiolia nearly flinched at the intimate gesture. He never thought the Phoenix would allow anyone but his younger brother Shun to touch him in that manner. Aldebaran was also mute with astonishment. The anger in Shaka's voice that only moments ago had been directed at Milo was suddenly gone, replaced by quiet concern for the Bronze Saint.
"Ikki..." he half-whispered, holding his palm flat against the y man man's brow. "You're burning up!"
"’Tis...nothing..." mumbled Ikki, his stubborn pride finally sparked to life as he brushed Shaka's hand away.
The Virgo Saint frowned, unaccustomed to rejection. "You are ill, Phoenix. You should be in bed."
Milo snorted in disapproval. "Why don’t you carry him to his room, tuck him under the covers and make sure he stays there!" he remarked sarcastically. Shaka did not respond, but Milo could have sworn the Virgo Saint's cheeks burned red before fading pale with anger.
"Milo, you aren't helping," Aldebaran warned, taken aback by the ire and venom in the Scorpio's voice. What the hell was going on here?
Saori, who had felt both Shaka and Milo's Cosmo flare only moments ago, stepped in. "What seems to be the problem?" she asked.
Ikki arose fros ses seat. "Nothing," he answered curtly, wishing the damned room would stop spinning. He kept a hand on the chair as he stood to help keep his balance.
"Athena," breathed Shaka. "Ikki is sick. He should be in bed."
"Ikki?" Saori looked at him, and though she could see he was trying to hide it, Ikki was obviously unwell. "Hmm…I think he's right, Ikki."
"I have chores..." the Phoenix Saint started to protest.
"They can wait," Saori interrupted.
"I can take care of myself. I don't need anyone to..." Ikki moved away from the girl, and instead ran into Shaka who had placed himself in Ikki's way. "What?" the boy asked in confusion, looking up the Virgo Saint's face.
"Ikki, forgive me..."
The Bronze Saint barely had time to see Shaka raise a finger and lightly tap his forehead. Ikki heard the Hindu speak softly then all went dark.
" Ikki!" gasped Saori as the Bronze Phoenix fell limply into the Virgo Saint’s arms. "Shaka, what did you do?"
"He will probably be angry with me when he wakes, but I used my Cosmo to make him sleep." He glanced down at the unconscious youth. "Do you mind if I take him to bed? I mean...put him to bed?"
Saori was as baffled as Aiolia, Milo and Aldebaran by Shaka's choice of words. Several uncomfortable moments passed before she could answer. "Ah, of course. I'll call a doctor."
"No need," said Mu, who had witnessed the last bit of conversation. "I can do more than mend Cloth. I'll check on what he has, but I suspect he caught a virus from his dip to save Shaka. Don't worry, Saori Athena, I'll make sure Ikki-san makes a quick recovery."
Saori nodded toward the two Gold Saints. "Thank you Mu…Shaka. Oh, by the way, you may not want to be in the same room as Ikki as he wakes, Shaka. I'm sure he’ll be mad at you."
I somehow doubt that, thought Mu. "We'll make sure he gets plenty of rest, Saori-san."
Shaka nodded and lifted Ikki into his arms. He climbed the stairs, feeling Mu's gaze on his back. "You don't have to help me, Mu. I am sure all he needs is some serious rest."
Mu’s eyes glinted mischievously. "My, Shaka, are you trying to get rid of me so you can have the boy all to yourself?"
Shaka frowned. "What are you implying?"
Mu chuckled as they arrived at Ikki's room. "Shaka, Shaka, Shaka. Have you forgotten that it's hasn't been so long since we were involved?"
Shaka froze. "That was 5 years ago, Mu. We were both much younger."
"Yes," Mu admitted. "As young as Ikki is now..."
Shaka placed Ikki on his bed. "Again, Mu, just what are you implying?"
"I'll be blunt, Shaka," the Aries Saint began, seating himself on Shun's bed. "I think you're in love with this boy."
Shaka was still turned away from him, but Mu could see his hesitation, and he was most certainly blushing.
"Don't be ridiculous. He's only sixteen years old," Shaka answered, refusing to face Mu.
"And you're only twenty! Four years is not that much of a difference, you know," Mu countered.
Shaka removed Ikki's shirt. "I'm not even going to dignify that with an answer."
Oh, but you already have my friend, thought Mu. He placed a caring hand on Shaka's shoulder. "I don't think you need to strip him completely, do you?"
Shaka’s cheeks burned red again as he realized he was unzipping Ikki's pants. "I just wanted to make him comfortable."
"I believe you, but I just don't think it would be a very good idea," said Mu.
"What do you mean? Are you suggesting I would jump on him, Mu? Frankly, I…" Shaka replied defensively, shocked that Mu would think of such a thing.
"No, no! It's not that," Mu assured the Virgo Saint. "You mean you really don't know?" asked Mu.
"Know what?
Mu frowned. "I'll explain it to you, but not here." He quickly checked Ikki’s vital signs. "Well, he's runningeverever, but it's not too bad. Like you said, sleep is what he needs most right now." He pulled the blanket over Ikki’s bare shoulders then stood up, motioning for Shaka to follow him out of the room. "I need to tell you something."
Shaka was puzzled, but he trailed after the Aries Saint.
**********************************
"Don’t laugh, Shun! I'm serious! I don't know what to wear!" puffed Seiya. Dressed in cut-off shorts and a t-shirt, he rummaged frantically through his wardrobe, overheated from his morning run.
"Oh, Seiya!" chuckled Shun. "Just make up your mind. It can't be that hard to find an appropriate outfit. Are you really so nervous?"
"You bet I am! I...I just want to look good tonight…for Shiryu," replied Seiya, slipping on a new pair of jeans.
"Seiya, relax! He'd like what you wore even if it was an old rice bag!" Shun remarked lightly as he peeked into Seiya's dresser drawers. "Ah, here we go! Why don't you wear this?" he offered, holding out a dark purple shirt.
"I can’t wear that!" Seiya snatched the garment from Shun's hands. "Miho gave this to me! I can't wear it on a date with Shiryu!"
"Why not? I think you would look great in it! And darn it, Seiya, we're going to be late if you don't hurry it up!" Shun answered impatiently. Exasperated by Seiya’s indecisiveness, he walked to the window and peered out. "Hyoga and Shiryu are ready and waiting for us."
"Humph! You're quite testy today," mumbled Seiya as he tried on the shirt and glanced at his reflection in the mirror. He hated to admit it, but it did look good on him.
"I'm sorry," replied the green-haired boy. "I guess I’m just worried about Nii-san."
"It's only a slight cold, Shun, nothing major. Are you sure I should wear cologne? Never used the stuff before."
"Yeah, but don't put too much on, just a dab will do," Shun explained absently. It's not just the cold I am worried about, Seiya, thought Shun. But even I don't know what's troubling my brother so much. I hope Shaka can help him.
"Okay, how do I look?" the brown-haired boy asked, striking a pose. "Anone! Shun! Earth to Shun!"
The young Andromeda Saint finally noticed him. "Oh! Sorry, Seiya." He turned away from the window, his face brightening. "Wow! You look great! Shiryu will certainly be impressed!"
"You're not just saying that, are you?" Seiya asked shyly.
"No way! Now come on! They’re waiting for us!" Shun grabbed his friend's hand and rushed out. As they passed near the room he shared with his brother, he couldn't resist looking in at Ikki who still slept soundly from Shaka’s touch. Sleep well, Nii-san, thought Shun. Don't wait up for me!
With Seiya in tow, he raced swiftly down the stairs and out the front door.
********************************************
Shaka glanced up just as Shun and Seiya dashed by the doorway to the library. He sighed.
There will be plenty of leftovers now. Well, at least the food won't spoil for a couple of days.
He sat down in the leather seat, studying the various books that lined the shelves around the room. The titles spoke of religions both old and new, mythology and philosophy. Shaka pondered asking Athena for the loan of some volumes when Mu entered.
"Sorry I took so long. I was showing Jabu how to make Tibetan tea," smiled Mu.
Shaka sniffed the delicious aroma wafting from the cups in Mu’s hands. "Butter tea...I haven't had that since..." His face suddenly grew hard. "Since that day you left sanctuary without even telling me..."
Mu handed Shaka one of the teacups. "I left because...Saga had taken Shion's place. I knew the truth and I could no longer hide it."
"Why didn't you confide in me?" asked Shaka.
"You wouldn't have believed me. To everyone else, Saga was a paragon of justice. If I'd told you the truth then, would you even have listened to me?"
Shaka thought for a moment, sipping the hot, salty beverage. "I'm not sure. It took Ikki to finally make me doubt."
Mu smiled. "He opened your eyes to many things. Maybe he shall do so again."
Shaka frowned. "I told you before, Mu, he is too young and I am too old. I also have my duty to Athena."
Mu lifted his cup and touched it to his lips. "Is that the truth you've decided to hide behind?"
"I am NOT hiding!"
Mu placed his cup on the low end table near the wine-colored couch. "First of all, being a Saint of Athena doesn't automatically prevent you from taking a lover. Second, I doubt Saori-sama would mind if it meant you and Ikki would be happy. Third, you are both going to regret it for the rest of your lives if you don't realize the error of your ways."
"You seem to be speaking from experience," the Virgo Saint noted.
"I am, Shaka. You have no idea," the lavender-haired man sighed, his eyes darkened by sadness.
Shaka was taken aback. "I…I'm sorry, Mu."
"Don't be!" Mu replied, forcing a smile. "I have only myself to blame for this. But I don't wish you to experience the same."
As Shaka downed a healthy swig of the rich, buttery liquid from his cup, his thoughts wandered back to Ikki. He knew the boy would be all right. His illness was just a fluke. Ikki would be back on his feet in no time, yet somewhere deep inside there was a part of himself he had never been aware of and that part was worried about the Phoenix Saint. It was also there that his mind would sometimes turn when he was alone late at night. But at the moment, he couldn't think of anything else but Ikki, half-naked in his bed.
"Hmm...I bet I know who you are thinking about!" teased Mu.
Shaka blushed. "I was just wondering if he was okay."
"With that smile on your lips? Really?" Mu grinned like a mouse that had caught the cat. Shaka couldn't find an appropriate response, so he drank more of his tea. "You know there is nothing shameful about having emotions as long as they are true," Mu continued.
Shaka stared at him in annoyance. "Turning my own words back at me, are you?"
"Whatever it takes, Shaka." Mu handed him a few vegetable momos from the tray he had brought in with the tea. "But I think there is something you should know about Ikki."
"How would you know?" Shaka asked, startled.
"When I left Sanctuary, I didn't just stay in Jamir you know. I went to all of the training grounds. With my teleportation, it was an easy feat. Most of the time, I stayed concealed, but at others, I actually made my presence known to the Master. However, there was one to whom I never let my presence be known."
Shaka chewed slowly on the snack, swallowing nervously. "Ikki's Master…Guilty."
Mu nodded. "Have you ever heard the rumors about Death Queen Island?"
The momo hit Shaka’s stomach like a lead weight. He shook his head apprehensively knowing that Mu was about to tell him something he didn’t want to hear.
"Guilty was a harsh Master, the harshest around. He knew the secret of the Phoenix Cloth. Everyone believes the Cloth is rule by hatred, which is partially true. It does take hatred to initially awaken it, but it also takes an immense will and a sense of honor and justice to keep it. The Cloth would have crushed Jango had he tried to put it on, but you saw Ikki, didn't you? Your mission..."
"The Holy Father had asked me to ensure the Phoenix Cloth didn't fall into unworthy hands. If I had deemed Ikki unworthy..." Shaka began.
"You would have killed him. But you didn't…why?"looklooked directly in his eyes.
"It wasn't because I was enamored with him," Shaka replied defensively. "It was that I could see in his eyes a tortured soul, pain beyond sadness, and the way he hid his sense of justice behind grand shows of strength. He sought vengeance, but…it's hard to explain, it was just…"
Mu nodded. "So you spared his life for the first time."
Shaka paused. "I never thought about it that way."
"Yes, and the second time you saved him. It was in the battle of Sanctuary. You could have fled that dimension alone and yet you wanted to bring him back," Mu noted.
"I even asked for your help," Shaka added. "He made me doubt, and during the battle I sensed something. A mere fool wouldn't have fought as he did on false pretenses. I had to know the truth, and I felt the truth would come through him."
"You won't admit it, but Ikki had already stolen your heart."
"Mu, we had just engaged in a most dire combat! I had respect for him…them."
"You could have left him to die alone, you know," Mu reminded.
"It wouldn't have been right," Shaka argued.
Mu smiled, but his countenance suddenly darkened. "Shaka, what I have to say is going to be difficult to conceive, but for both you and Ikki's sake's b's better if you know."
Shaka's stomach knotted in dread of Mu’s impending words. "Continue..."
Mu took a breath. "Guilty had very unorthodox method of training. I didn't believe the rumors but..." He paused, unable to suppress a shudder. "I saw what remained of his last student."
"H-he beat them to death?" Shaka guessed.
"He was indeed violent, beating his students within an inch of their lives, but Ikki and the other trainees were also subjected to much worse."
"Worse? Mu, tell me..." Shaka quietly pleaded.
"Guilty used his students for his own…personal pleasure," Mu said, trying to be as tactful as possible.
Stunned by the revelation, Shaka could not speak, trying to find another meaning in Mu’s statement. "No, not Ikki..." he whispered.
"Ikki was not singled out, Shaka. He was dealt the same hand as the others. Guilty abused his students when they weren't able to fight back, which means it went on for a long time."
Shaka stood up and walked to the window, still dazed by the news. "No wonder he has
nightmares."
"He has nightmares about it?" asked Mu.
Shaka nodded. "Shun wanted me to help his brother because he could feel something was troubling him, but Ikki never confided in him."
"There is no fighting now…if he hasn't resolved his problems…" started Mu.
"It wasn't Ikki’s fault. Why should he be troubled by it? Guilty is the one to blame!" Shaka said angrily.
"You and I know that, but rape is an insidious crime and recovery time for the victim might be extremely long, especially if that person was never able to talk about it," Mu explained.
"How can I approach him now?" Still somewhat in a state of shock, the Virgo Saint hadn't realized he’d spoken aloud, for the first time confessing he might actually care for Ikki. He covered his mouth with his hand in embarrassment.
"You'll have to be very gentle. I'm sure you'll find a way." Mu moved to Shaka’s side and placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling warmly at his friend.
"I half expected you to say ‘Aha! I knew it!’" replied Shaka, his cheeks flushed with color.
Mu cocked his head. "It’s true, I already knew, Shaka. If you could only see how you react when you speak of Ikki! Your eyes positively light up!"
Shaka was dumbstruck. "Does it show that much?"
"I think most people wouldn't notice, but since you and I were once very close, it’s quite obvious."
Shaka frowned. "What should I do now?"
"Go to him, talk to him, encourage him open up to you. And if you think he needs more help, I'll be glad to..." Mu stopped abruptly, distracted by a noise in one of the bedrooms, as if someone had fallen.
"Ikki!" Shaka was out of the room before Mu could blink. The lavender-haired man smiled as he followed Shaka, ready to lend a hand.
************************************************************
"You're kidding, right?" Shun asked.
"I wish I was," replied Shiryu. "But the movie is sold out."
"Damn…" sighed Seiya. "Maybe we should have taken Saori's advice and called to reserve advance tickets."
"Yeah..." Hyoga agreed. "What do we do now?"
They looked at one other in uneasy silence. Then Hyoga noticed Shun smiling. The young Saint apparently had an idea. He pointed at Seiya and Shiryu.
"Why don't you two head to Seiya's apartment while Hyoga and I rent some videos and buy some pizza and drinks!"
"Great idea Shun!" beamed Seiya. "We'll have a good old-fashioned sleep over!"
Shun winked at Hyoga. "Sure, Seiya! Well, why don't you guys get going, and we'll meet you in about an hour or so."
Seiya nodded as he pulled Shiryu with him. The Dragon Saint glanced nervously back at Hyoga who turned his thumbs up in a positive gesture.
The blonde half-Russian smiled at his lover. "You're a sly little devil, aren't you?"
Shun chuckled. "Coming from you, I'll take that as a compliment! Now what should we do to kill the time and give them time to talk things over?"
Hyoga suddenly remembered something he had spied earlier. "I think I have an idea! Follow me!"
Shun nodded and followed Hyoga through the crowded streets of Tokyo. After walking a few short blocks, Shun noticed they were on a hotel street, but the signs were all strangely bright and gaudy. The Andromeda Saint suddenly realized where they were.
"Hyoga," he whispered. "Hyoga, these are love hotels!" The Russian boy merely smiled at him. "We can't...!"
"Why not?" the blonde interrupted.
"Well, because...because..." Shun stammered.
Hyoga turned around swiftly, grabbed Shun and held him in his arms. "You know I'd never force you to do anything against your will, but I thought you wanted more…you know, make love?"
Shun nodded. "I do, honest! It’s been so difficult for us to be intimate at the mansion with all the people constantly around. I was always so afraid someone would walk in on us!"
"I know, so I thought this might be the answer to our problem," Hyoga explained.
"Hmmm…I somehow never pictured my first time would be in a one of these places," Shun pouted.
"Me neither, Shun, but listen, if it really bothers you that much, we don’t have to do it here," Hyoga assured him.
But Shun had already been tempted by the idea of finally consummating their love. "Well, maybe we could just take a look," he said shyly.
Hyoga smiled as they headed for the nearest building. Above the doorway, a pink and white sign blazed "Aphrodite's Palace". They entered, but there was not another living soul inside. Mounted on the wall was a huge panel full of lighted pictures, some of which were darkened.
"I guess that means the room is occupied. Do you see one you like, Shun?"
The green-haired boy studied the photos carefully. All the rooms looked like arenas, but one caught his eye. "That one."
"Now the big question. Do you want to go to that room with me?" asked Hyoga.
Shun blushed. If he went with Hyoga, they would lov love for the very first time. He was afraid, yet he was also extremely anxious and curious, and those sentiments won over his fears. "Yes, I want to," he replied simply.
Hyoga nodded happily and pressed a button next to the picture Shun had selected. A buzzer sounded and a small hidden aperture slid open. An anonymous hand accepted the money Hyoga offered and passed a key to the confident young Saint. As Hyoga took the key, the opening disappeared, once again camouflaged behind the wall. Shun was amazed by the entire process, but as he walked with Hyoga toward their room, the Andromeda Saint wondered if there were secret wickets on any of the other walls in the hotel.
*********************************************
Seiya sat on his bed, impatiently flipping through the channels on his TV. "When are they coming back? I'm starving!"
Shiryu relaxed in a chair on the opposite side of the room, watching the Pegasus Saint with amusement. "Seiya, I don't think they'll be back too soon. I think they wanted us to have some time for ourselves."
"Oh. OH!" Seiya immediately turned off the television. "Then...um…why don't you come sit over here?"
Shiryu quickly joined Seiya on the bed. They were both silent for a few moments, their cheeks blushed crimson.
"I have something to tell..." they burst out simultaneously.
"You first," the pair again said in unison.
Another uneasy silence settled between them.
I have to talk to him, thought Shiryu. This is driving me crazy!
I feel so much on edge, thought Seiya. I feel like I'm going to explode! I have to do something…anything…but what?
As he looked up at Shiryu, the taller black-haired Saint looked down at him, their eyes locking.
Something has got to happen, Seiya thought hopefully.
"Seiya...I," Shiryu began hesitantly. He took a deep breath then started again. "You know I care about you…very much."
"Yes," Seiya answered quietly. "And I care about you too. I mean, all those times you sacrificed yourself for us…for me."
"I wasn’t the only one. You risked everything when you brought me the Water of Life," replied Shiryu.
"You did so much for me, it seemed a very small price."
Shiryu placed his hands on Seiya’s cheeks and gazed deeply into his eyes. "Seiya, if you had died while looking for a cure…" Shiryu continued. "Life would have meant nothing to me."
"Me too." Seiya replied awkwardly. He felt a bit stupid. Shiryu was saying such beautiful, heartfelt things and all he could come up with was a boring ‘me too’. "Shiryu, I like you a lot…no…‘like’ isn't a strong enough word."
Shiryu smiled at him. "I know what you mean. It's far more than just ‘like’ for me as well."
They chuckled softly as warm sparks danced in their eyes then snuggled closer.
"I'm not going to run away this time, Seiya," breathed Shiryu.
"Good!" Seiya barely had time to speak before Shiryu’s lips found his. This wasn't their first kiss, but it was the first one where they both acknowledged their feelings. The first kiss soon led to a second, and then a third. Seiya's reached up and entwined his fingers into Shiryu's dark locks.
"Mmmm...I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time," the brown-haired boy confessed.
"And I’ve wanted to do this…" Shiryu leaned him back until they were both stretched out on the bed. Shiryu lay on top of Seiya, kissing him tenderly at first then more passionately.
Seiya's hand moved from the raven hair and roamed Shiryu’s lean body, pausing to caress the Dragon's back. As the kiss deepened, excitement rushed throughout the smaller Saint’s body. His blood burned and he felt good. "Oh, Shiryu!" he gasped.
Shiryu pulled away slightly, his hair draping around his head like a halo. "Yes, Seiya?"
"Don't stop…don't ever stop!" Seiya bridged the gap between them and kissed him feverishly. When he felt Shiryu's tongue against his lips, he opened his mouth without hesitation. Their tongues touched and mingled, and the two Bronze Saints let out small muffled sounds of yearning while their hands explored each other's hard, muscular bodies.
Shiryu arched his back and moaned as Seiya found a very sensitive spot on his chest. "Ah! Seiya!"
The brunette teen smirked and touched him again. He could feel Shiryu's nipples harden like pebbles.
"You like that, huh?" Seiya teased.
"Let me show you how it feels," purred Shiryu as he snaked a hand inside Seiya’s shirt. He found a small dark nub and teased it until it was as hard as his own.
"Mmm…you're right! That does feel good!" Seiya moaned. "But wouldn’t it be easier without my shirt?"
"You read my mind," Shiryu replied in a deep, hungry voice. He pulled Seiya's shirt up and helped him slip his arms out.
"I think you should just pop out of your shirt!" Seiya joked as Shiryu began to unbutton his own shirt. Seiya paused, his hazel eyes glittering brightly. "Do you have any idea how much of a turn on that is?" he added seriously.
"No, why don’t you tell me about it?" Shiryu responded curiously.
"Believe me, it is! Whenever you did that, I sometimes wondered if you aroused any of the guys you had to fight!" Seiya explained as he watched his friend.
"And what does it do for you?" asked the Dragon Saint.
"Bust out of your shirt right now and find out!" Seiya smiled.
Shiryu considered the challenge for a moment then stood up and started to burn his Cosmos. "I hope no one nearby thinks I'm in mortal danger!" He moved a few feet away from the bed and closed his eyes. His hair lifted around him and his entire body tensed from the energy he produced. Shiryu’s muscles bulged dramatically as his Cosmo expanded and the shirt strained at the seams.
"RAAAAAH!"
The material exploded from his body. Bits of material drifted around the room like fabric confetti. His Cosmo subsided and he stood calmly before Shiryu, his chest bare.
"Well?"
Seiya was speechless, but acutely aware of the heat pooling in his groin. "I..."
"Yes? What is it, Seiya?" asked Shiryu coyly. "Your face is all red!"
"You're really hot!" breathed Seiya, hoping the erection in his pants wasn't too apparent.
"Mmm...you're hot too," Shiryu remarked. The display of Cosmo had a strange effect on him. He had never used it in such a way before and it excited him beyond comprehension. He noticed the same reaction in Seiya and returned to the bed, straddling his half-naked body over Seiya’s and purposely brushing their hips together.
"Aaah!" Seiya moaned softly. "Sh-Shiryu, what about Hyoga and Shun? They’ll…" Seiya worried.
"They’ll knock on the door if they return, but frankly, I think they’ve found something to keep themselves occupied. I doubt they’ll be coming back soon," Shiryu reassured him. "Seiya, I've had dreams about touching you, but none were as good as this!"
"I’ve had dreams about you too, Shiryu, but…I'm a little scared," he confessed. As the Dragon thrust his hardness against Seiya’s, an uncontrollable groan escaped the Pegasus Saint’s lips.
"Seiya..." Shiryu whispered. He feverishly claimed his lover in a passionate kiss while their bodies pressed tightly together.
Seiya’s fears and worries slowly melted away. He boldly slipped a hand inside Shiryu's pants and felt the Dragon’s hardness, wrapping his fingers around it.
"AAAH!" moaned Shiryu. He recalled the times he had touched himself in such a way, but it could never compare to Seiya’s caress. The Pegasus Saint's hand sent jolts of electricity through his body. "Oh, Seiya! You naughty boy!" Shiryu growled playfully.
"I'm not boy!" pouted Seiya in mock indignation, but he was immediately distracted when Shiryu slipped his hand down the front of his pants and began stroking him. Seiya moaned loudly and closed his eyes at Shiryu’s touch.
"I can feel you..." Shiryu murmured. "But now I want to see you. I remember seeing you naked once, and ever since that moment, I’ve wanted to see more of you. May I remove the rest of your clothing?"
Seiya blushed briefly. He didn't think he’d be naked in front of Shiryu so soon, or masturbating him either, the there he was, fueling the lust in the Dragon's eyes. "Yes, Shiryu, but only if I can take yours off too."
"Deal!" beamed the Dragon Saint as he unzipped Seiya's pants and pulled them down. He then lowered the dark youth’s underwear, freeing his erection. It was thick and fully erect, and Seiya whimpered softly, feeling Shiryu's gaze and wanting to be touched. Shiryu caressed the engorged member firmly, enraptured by its smooth heat. He then wrapped his fingers around it and began pumping Seiya.
"AAAH! No fair!" gasped Seiya. "You said…"
"Sssh..." Shiryu interrupted. "Let me do this. I want to please you. I want to see your body as I touch you. Then you can do the same to me," explained Shiryu, moving his hand faster. Seiya moaned and arched under his touch. A single bead of semen appeared at the tip of Seiya's member. Shiryu brushed it with his thumb, spreading the liquid over the head.
"Aaah! Aaah, Shiryu!" Seiya was initially shy at being completely naked in front of his friend, but when Shiryu began caressing and pumping him, his shyness was replaced by overwhelming need. Lust’s heat settled in his loins, wanting to get out. His body arched in response to Shiryu's thumb over the head of his membeAH! AH! Yes, Shiryu! M-more!"
Shiryu's breath came rapidly. Having Seiya under his control sent waves of passion through him. He could feel his own hardness come alive, becoming fully erect. He wanted Seiya’s touch, but not until he brought the Pegasus Saint to completion first.
"Ah! Shiryu! Aaah!" Seiya cried out. "Yes! Oh, it's so good, Shiryu!"
"Show me, Seiya! Show me how good it is!" Shiryu continued to stroke Seiya’s hardness while the younger Saint moaned and panted, his blood boiling as he neared climax.
"Shiryu! I-I'm going to...AAAH…come! AAAH!" Seiya howled in ecstasy.
"Yes, Seiya! Do it!" Shiryu's hand moved faster. He was determined to finally see Seiya come. The Dragon’s own member was extraordinarily rigid and demanding release. His hand went faster still.
Seiya back arched off the bed, his hips grinding rhythmically to Shiryu's movement, intensifying the sensations. His skin glistened with sweat, and all coherent thought was lost as his orgasm reached its peak.
"OH YEAH! OH YEAH! SHIRYUUUUU! AAAAAAH!" Seiya shouted as he thrust into Shiryu's hand one last time, his seed erupting fast, hot and sticky. Shiryu continued to rub him as his passion slipped out of him and into Shiryu's fist, few trails splashing over chest.
"AAAH! AAAAAAAH! AAAAAAH! Aaaaaah! Mmmmm...." Seiya body gradually relaxed as his erection subsided. Shiryu settled down next to the boy, watching him recuperate.
"Did you like that?" asked Shiryu.
"Mmmmm...yeah! That was great, Shiryu!" smiled the Pegasus Saint.
"I’m glad you enjoyed it!" laughed the tall, black-haired youth.
"Your turn!" Seiya pounced on Shiryu and unzipped his pants. Before Shiryu could utter a word, Seiya had managed to pull his trousers low enough to get at his turgid member and begin stroking it energetically.
"AAH! Whoa, whoa, Seiya! Not...uhnn…not so fast!" Shiryu begged.
"I want to see you come too!" Seiya boldly announced. His actions produced a drop of pre-cum that seeped out of Shiryu's hardness. The smaller Saint mimicked what Shiryu had done and spread the drop over the tip with his thumb. The on Son Saint moaned loudly and another droplet appeared.
Shiryu panted heavily. He never imagined it could be so pleasurable to be touched by Seiya. Electricity coursed through his limbs, turning his blood lava-hot. But Shiryu nearly lost complete control at Seiya's next move.
Seiya watched the dew at Shiryu's tip and wondered what it might taste like. Without hesitation, he leaned over and licked it, causing Shiryu's hips to buck wildly.
So he likes that, huh? Seiya thought to himself. Finding the taste not unpleasant, he licked the tip again.
"AAAH! OH, GOD! SEIYA! What are you doing? AAAH!" Shiryu was getting closer to completion with each lick.
"I don't know, but I like it!" Seiya confessed. He swiped his tongue over Shiryu’s member a few more times then suddenly slipped his lover's hardness into his mouth.
"AAAH! OH! OOOOH! AAAH! YES! YES! AH! YES, SEIYA!" Spasms of pleasure flowed through Shiryu as he pushed deeper into Seiya's mouth.
Somewhat startled, the young Saint choked slightly, but found he liked having Shiryu's hardness in his mouth. Seiya began sucking eagerly, which caused him to become aroused again as well. But the Pegasus could only focus on Shiryu as the beautiful Dragon continued to moan, and his breathing rough.
"AAAH! No! Noooo! Seiya! Stop…stop! I'm going to...AAAAH! AAAH!"
Shiryu's pleading only made Seiya suck harder. Holding onto the taller Saint’s hips, he bobbed his head rapidly, urging his lover to come.
Suddenly, Shiryu snapped his hips upward, and Seiya felt sweet pleasure fill his mouth. He swallowed hungrily, but Shiryu was coming so hard and fast he wasn't able to down it all. Some of it trickled out of his lips, but he held Shiryu in his mouth until the flow stopped.
Shiryu's mind had turned numbing white as he came. Dazed and confused, he didn't know what had happened until he saw Seiya wiping the seed from his mouth.
"Oh, no. Oh, Seiya, I'm sorry. I-I should have…stopped and..."
Seiya only smiled and lay back, purring happily and snuggling against him. "That's okay, Shiryu. I wanted to do it!"
"Seiya..." Shiryu bent over to kiss him, then remembered what just was in his partner’s mouth. "Uh..." he hesitated, blushing.
"I'll go brush my teeth!" Seiya quickly offered, rising from the bed. "Keep that spot warm for me, okay?"
"Of course!" Shiryu smiled at him. Seiya might have no problem taking his essence, but the Dragon Saint was not prepared to taste himself!
Seiya returned a few moments later and fell comfortably into Shiryu’s waiting arms. "Mmmm…feeling sleepy. You?"
Shiryu nodded and slid his arms down to Seiya's wais ths the teen pulled the covers over both of them. "We'd better get some rest then. Good night, Shiryu."
"Night, Seiya..." He kissed him lightly on the forehead and tightened his embraced around the Pegasus, holding him close until they both fell asleep.

"Ikki!" Shaka found the young man slowly rising from the floor and shivering.
"I'm okay," he said weakly, leaning against the wall, trying to get back to his room.
His visit to the bathroom ended with him falling down on his way back to bed. "Shaka, I'm okay," Ikki repeated as Shaka arrived next to him.
"Let me help you," Shaka gently replied.
Ikki didn't want to argue. He was too damned cold and tired. All he wanted to do was crawl back under the nice, warm covers.
Mu watched them from a distance, not wanting to get in the way of anything that might blossom. The Bronze Saint was having trouble standing, and Mu chuckled inwardly as the sick young man tried to regain his dignity. Unfortunately, Ikki miscalculated his next step and tripped over his own feet.
As swift as lightning, Shaka caught the falling Saint in his arms, and Ikki found himself not embracing the floor, but rather Shaka's chest. He was about to tell the tall blonde to release him, until he felt the warmth. He had been freezing ever since he got out of his bed, and Shaka had instinctively wrapped his arms around Ikki's shivering frame. The Phoenix Saint felt good; better than he had felt since the morning. He could have easily fallen asleep in Shaka’s strong embrace. He had no idea the Gold Saint could be so warm.
Shaka felt awkward with the young man in his arms. Mu walked towards them and helped put Ikki back into his bed, but before Shaka could say a word, the Tibetan teleported away.
Shaka puffed and gradually settled Ikki back against his pillow. He urged the young man to rest, but Ikki still held onto him. "Ikki, you can let go now."
"No. I'm cold. Just a little while longer, Shaka. Just a little while longer," he whispered.
As Ikki wriggled closer to Shaka, the Gold Saint lost his footing and fell over the teen.
Shaka's cheeks briefly reddened as he tried to regain his composure. Ikki held him tighter, still shivering. "Please, Shaka, stay…I'm so cold..." he pleaded in a tiny voice, but it was enough for Shaka to hear.
"Are you sure, Ikki?" asked Shaka, bewildered yet happy that Ikki wanted him to stay.
"Yes. You're warm…I like it warm." Ikki snuggled closer to him.
"Just let me shift my weight a little" Shaka said quietly. "I'll crush you..."
"Don't care..." Ikki answered in a sleepy haze, but hrainrain cleared enough to let go of Shaka and recline next to him. The Gold Saint barely had time to make himself comfortable when the shivering Ikki crawled back into his arms. "Mmmmm..." he purred.
Shaka looked down at him in wonder. He must be delirious! Yes, that's it. He’d never let me get this close to him any other time. "Ikki? Why do you want me to warm you?"
Ikki mumbled a response, but Shaka wasn't sure what the young man said. Well, at least he's resting now and not having nightmares. He enjoyed the feel of Ikki’s body pressed comfortably against him. His breathing was peaceful and even, and Shaka suddenly realized that Ikki had fallen asleep on his chest. He was almost insulted, but his heart warmed as Ikki unconsciously wrapped his arms around the Virgo Saint’s waist.
"Sleep tight, Ikki. I'll stay here with you..." he murmured, combing his fingers gently through the boy’s dark hair. Ikki made a small mewing sound in his sleep, which Shaka found adorable.
Shaka continued to stroke Ikki’s hair, and after several minutes, the warmth and the comfortable position got the better of Shaka. He too slipped into slumber, his head resting against Ikki's.

Mu smiled and closed the door. well it's a start he thought. He was a bit startled to
see Saori behind him.
"I guess we shouldn't be expecting Shaka to make us a meal tonight ne?" she asked.
"I think not, Saori-sama." smirked Mu.
"In that case, we should all go to a restaurant and leave them alone." She smiled at
him and took his arm.
"I couldn't agree with you more." replied Mu. "Let's go and we can always bring them a
little something."
