Thursday Morning:
Hanaka screamed. “Disconnected!? That’s impossible. How could he have disconnected it!?” Well she’d just have to see him in person to tell Tezuka what she’d done to that little weirdo, she didn’t care about the school rules saying she couldn’t go to senior’s classrooms. She would impress upon him how he needed to go back with her, or the video of he and Fuji would be all over the internet. Tezuka would be horrified to know his one slip up would be out there for all the world to see. The thought of it made her happy, she would win this. She would have her Kunimitsu back now, she was sure of it. Until this moment, she had been sure that Tezuka was reading all of her text messages. Her Kunimitsu was very strong willed, so she was sure he was just refusing to respond to them until she apologized first. Since he changed the phone number, she knew that he wasn’t seeing any of them and it made her furious - but it’s ok. She’ll have her day.
Tezuka went to morning practice early, feeling wonderful. The prospect of seeing Fuji again being foremost in his mind, he was hoping that his team mate was feeling better now, since he had looked terrible the day before. Tezuka knew they had much to discuss, but this time he thought they were at least on the same page. While Fuji had readily accepted the fact that he loved Tezuka, his captain had not gotten nearly that far yet. In fairness to Tezuka, that’s a very large leap for someone who doesn’t allow emotions to get the better of him, especially in such a short amount of time. Tezuka knew he had missed his friend, and he also looked forward to more of what they had done yesterday. He was not backing off in any way. Tezuka wanted to explore this new and fascinating facet of their relationship. The idea of Mieko in the mix made Tezuka’s eyebrows furrow as jealousy gripped him. He wouldn’t like it, but he could understand if Fuji refused to give her up. If their situations were reversed and Tezuka was dating her, he might not want to give her up himself, but that was one of the things he and Fuji would need to discuss. Fuji had not shown up to practice, and no one on the team had heard from him even though Eiji had called him as well. Tezuka thought of this and weighed it with his disappointment at Fuji not coming to school. But honestly, it was reasonable if the tensai was still sick with a fever, perhaps he would stop by Fuji’s house on the way home today.
Tezuka was on his way with Oishi to his first class when Hanaka stormed up to him in the school corridor. He saw her coming from a mile away and found himself fervently wishing that a hole would magically open in the floor and allow him to sink into it. She marched up to stand a scant few inches from his nose, then drew herself up to her full 5’ 9” height to scream at him. “How dare you change your phone number!? Who do you think you are!? I want the new number and I want it now.” The students in the corridor gathered quickly to hear the argument the power couple were having. Tezuka calmly said “No.” She ranted, “That little bastard Fuji made you change it so I couldn’t talk to you, right!? Well I’ll destroy him too. You’ll give me the number or you’ll be just as sorry as he is.” When it was obvious to her that Tezuka had absolutely no idea what she was talking about she smiled evilly, “You didn’t talk to him did you? You don’t know what happened, do you? Well when you find out, you’ll come crawling back to me.” Tezuka was irritated, but kept his voice low and level. “What do you mean, I don’t know what happened?” Her grin widened, “Maybe you should ask him yourself. Oh what, isn’t he here today? I’m not surprised, I doubt he’ll ever come back if he knows what’s good for him. Then you can apologize, and we can get back to normal.” Though his face remained placid, Tezuka felt his blood begin to boil. “There is nothing to apologize for. We are through. Leave it alone Hanaka.” Her face twisted up, she swung at him to slap him, “You bastard.” His lightning reflexes deftly caught her arm before she got even marginally close to his face, then he casually flicked it away. “Stay away from me, Hanaka.” You don’t date someone for any length of time without knowing what pushes their buttons. He knew what would upset her the most. Tezuka turned to the 2 girls who had asked him the other day in class about his current availability and said clearly enough for Hanaka to hear, “Ladies. In answer to your question of the other day, as you can see, I am again available.” The girls squealed in delight. He leveled a vicious look at Hanaka, who screamed at the top of her lungs, then turned with Oishi and went into his classroom. But now he was really worried. What the hell was she talking about? Why would Fuji never come back? What did she do to him? Oishi asked his friend what the hell that was all about, and he told Oishi that he had broken up with her almost 2 weeks before but she just wouldn’t accept it, flooding his cell with phone calls and text messages, so he had changed his phone number yesterday and he needed to give the team the new number. He dug his phone out of his bag and tried to call Fuji getting his voicemail yet again. Tezuka was worried, he would definitely go to Fuji’s house after school. The rest of the day slowed to a crawl for him, he called both the cell and the house 2 more times while he waited for the day to be over.
Tezuka hurried to Fuji’s house immediately following practice, Oishi accompanied him. The house was dark and empty, no one answered. Tezuka was practically beside himself. Oishi didn’t know why his captain was so worried, but he knew Fuji’s parents went away, so if Fuji was sick maybe he was with his sister. The thought calmed Tezuka slightly, he went home to try and do his homework, the frown taking up permanent residence on his face. No one on the team had heard from the tensai yet, so he had no choice but to wait.
Fuji had slept thru what was left of Wednesday, he awoke a few times to go to the bathroom and to eat a small amount of food. Mieko left him sleeping to go to work that night at the dojo, she read a book when she returned and climbed in beside him to sleep. The next day passed almost exactly the same way. By that night, he still had a high fever, but he was holding light food down now, so she made him eat some rice and miso soup. When he roused himself from sleep late Thursday, he looked at the dented pillow next to him and smiled. He knew somewhere in the back of his mind that she had been sleeping next to him. He had felt the comforting presence. How close they had become was really wonderful, and a testament to what kind of person she was, stepping up when he needed her, expecting nothing in return. He was lucky, if all else failed, in this at least he was lucky. He knew she was in the living room now, he heard the television on. She must have returned from work already. Tonight was a dance night for the theater he remembered, and she probably thought he was sleeping. He got up, and walked slowly into the living room being careful not to make himself dizzy or queasy along the way. He saw her lying on the couch in lose cotton lounge pants and a white tank top, watching an old Godzilla movie, green eyes glued to the set. He smiled. He loved Godzilla movies. They just lifted his spirits. As if it were an everyday occurrence, Fuji crawled onto the couch in front of her, stretching his body out along the length of hers. Mieko watched him as he came to the couch, his color was still high, the fever not showing any signs of subsiding. She wordlessly lifted her arm when he crawled onto the couch, then wrapped it around him. His back pressed to her front, he grabbed her hand holding it to his chest under his arm, in a spoon position as they watched the rest of the movie in comfortable silence.
She saw for the first time the bruises on his arm from where Hanaka had hit him with the tree branch. Her fingertips brushed it gently. She didn’t know how he got the bruise. Fuji felt her breath in his ear when the movie ended, “You wanna talk?” He nodded. They didn’t move. She asked questions, he answered. The reason Tezuka smacked him made much more sense now. The tall handsome captain just couldn’t deal with the pressure and had snapped. He appeared to get his act together though and his treatment of Syuusuke had improved the last few days even before Fuji had confessed. But she needed to make one thing clear. “You know Syuusuke, sex can be a lot of things, it can be angry, hot, passionate, sad, calm, loving, and even healing, but it should not ever be punishment. Please don’t ever accept that kind of sex again, understand?” The hot wetness on her arm told her that he was silently crying again, and her heart ached. She missed hearing his soft husky laugh. Up until recently she had almost always seen him with a smile on his face, unless he was deadly serious or planning something sneaky. The change in attitude was sobering. He nodded, “Logically I know that. It just happened that way. You know what? I can’t remember ever having any sex that wasn’t intensely passionate or angry. I have never had sex with someone I loved except once (that being with Tezuka, which he refused to mention) and even that was one sided, and twisted somehow. Even the first girl I had sex with was angry passion. She was a tennis player too. Very good. We hated each other, we tried to beat each other on the courts constantly, then one night clothes went flying and we wound up making love. Each time we were together after that held the same intensity. The next one was just as passionate. It was a forbidden affair, she was older. Taken. We would stay away from each other as long as we could hold out, but then it seemed like the tension was so built up we would almost claw at each other. I can’t imagine sex ever being calm or healing, maybe I don’t know how or that’s just not what I inspire in people.”
She drew her fingertips over the bruise on his arm, “Did Tezuka give this to you?” he shook his head, “No, it was Hanaka when she attacked me with the tree branch after she saw me with Tezuka. My ribs hurt a bit too.” Mieko sat up, pulling him with her. “She Did WHAT!? You didn’t tell me that before.” Her green eyes drilling into him. He told her that he was walking home, leaving classes because he was so sick, and she had hit him from behind then again a few more times after he fell. Her face was a mask of fury, “Show me.” He lifted his shirt up showing the bruised ribs. She could see that the witch had hit him with that branch at least 3 or 4 times, then she inspected the forearm again. His blue eyes following the green ones as she inspected him. She was so pretty it made his heart squeeze. She was a good person, and kind. It made him sad that she had never thought enough of him to even go on a date with him. He didn’t deserve someone like her anyway, or Tezuka. “Is your arm going to be alright to play tennis?” He nodded, “It will heal fine. It’s just a bruise. No loss of mobility.” Her eyes searched his, wondering what he had just been thinking, “I’m not even going to ask why you didn’t knock her out. Even if you had the chance, you wouldn’t have hit her would you?” He shook his head, “I had the chance after the first few shots, that’s why my arm got bruised when I blocked her. I couldn’t hit her.” She stood up, “Misplaced, stupid male honor. In my book, when a female is kicking your ass with a tree branch, you should knock her teeth in.” Fuji smiled, “Your book isn’t for normal girls, Mieko.” She went into the kitchen, and he heard her making herself some tea. She was banging things more than was entirely necessary. She called out from the kitchen, “Call one of your friends and have them put together school work for you. I’ll drop by there tomorrow to pick it up for you on my way home from rehearsals.”
Fuji’s eyes widened, he forgot his cell at home so he used her home phone and called Eiji, “Hoi, Fuji-ko! Where are you? Are you okay? Everyone is worried. Oishi and Tezuka went by your house to see if you were okay.” Fuji’s heart fluttered. He answered, “They did?” “Yes! Oh! And you missed it, Tezuka and Hanaka had a huge fight in the hallway today, it’s the talk of the school. She mentioned you and said you were never coming back. What is she talking about?” Fuji said shortly, “I don’t want to talk about it.” Eiji paused, and Fuji could tell that Eiji’s tender heart was injured because Fuji would not tell him. The red head sounded unsure of what to say next, “Oh. Well. Tezuka has changed his cell phone number, he has to give it to us still. I think Oishi is the only one that has it.” Fuji’s heart stopped, ‘it’s because of me, he can’t let me have it.’ he forced himself to stay calm. “I am staying at Mieko’s house for a while, I am not doing too well. I have a bad case of the flu, and she is taking care of me. Can you get my homework together for me, she will come by tomorrow at practice to get it.” Eiji answered that of course he could, then started getting excited by the idea that the hot Mieko was taking care of Fuji. Fuji brushed it off by saying yes he was very lucky, thanked his friend and hung up the phone. By the time Mieko returned from making the tea, his face was heartbreakingly sad again. He told her what Eiji had said, but her answer surprised him, “You are jumping to conclusions again. You don’t seem to ever give Tezuka the benefit of the doubt. He and Oishi came to see if you were all right. He gets 2 points for that alone. Don’t forget he has to deal with Hanaka, and that is not good no matter how you slice it. I’m sure I wouldn’t be pleased either if I caught my boyfriend kissing someone else, much less his best friend. Her threats may scare him badly. Plus, even without her, you forget that this thing between you two is all very new to him. You are a guy after all. Now, I realize this may come as a shock,” she put on a ridiculous face that made him chuckle, “but I don’t believe Tezuka is gay by any means, this is obviously hard for him to deal with.” Fuji responded, “Well I’m not gay either, I don’t even think I am bisexual for that matter.” As she sipped her tea she studied him. She had never thought Syuusuke to be gay, but his obvious desire for Tezuka was a big sticking point. To be honest, the thought of the two handsome boys together was rather hot to her. She shelved that thought, “You don’t desire other men besides Tezuka?” Fuji shook his head no, then he shrugged, “It’s not like I look at guys and girls equally. I have thought that some guys are more handsome then others, and I know I have been physically attracted to one or two other men enough to desire them, but mostly it doesn’t even occur to me. I prefer girls.”
She thought about it. “HHmm, what attracts you?” he shrugged, “The same as with Tezuka, I fell for who they were. I liked them as a person, then the sexual desire came later. I just never wanted it as much with anyone else the way I did with Tezuka.” “Well, that sounds more like you could be pansexual, rather then gay or bi.” It made sense with his tensai’s mind. She could tell he had no idea what that heck that was just from the look on his face. “Look it up, genius. Basically it means the person themselves attracts you, what’s inside, who they are, and the physical gender is secondary. It can be more complicated but that’s the basics of it. It is I would guess, a higher form of attraction then merely physically based.” He digested that, “Well, do you think Tezuka is pansexual as well?” She thought about what she had heard of him so far, ‘I don’t think so. He treated you as a friend, and showed no signs of attraction until your shower room performance forced desire upon him. It surprised the hell out of him from what you’ve said. He would have remained your friend, may even have loved you dearly as a friend, but I don’t think he would ever have come to desire you on his own. I think your captain is heterosexual, but you may be the one exception to the rule. It is said that everyone has one exception.”
Fuji shook his head, “No, I think there is another.” She raised her eyebrows, “Really? How so?” He sighed, “Echizen.” She drew her eyebrows together showing she had no idea who he meant. “The 3rd monster of Seigaku. The short one who was on my side in doubles against Tezuka.” Her eyes widened. “Really? Well he is a very handsome boy. He’s going to be viciously hot when he grows up, but why do you say that?” Syuusuke shrugged, “There has always been something between them. Just beneath the surface, simmering. Its hard to define. Tezuka seems to be able to get thru to Echizen where no one else can.” He watched her absorb this as he went on, “Its more than just his belief in Echizen’s abilities, which are amazing I might add. But they both seem to be cut from the same cloth, so very much alike. Each always paying attention to the actions of the other, even when it appears they are not looking, its almost like a built in sixth sense. They seem to operate on the same wavelength. I can’t explain it. It’s just something I have always sensed.” She shrugged her shoulders, “Maybe you are right. You sound like you might find the ochibi attractive as well.” Her eyes followed him as Syuusuke seemed to consider it, “But for now, lets just worry about you, okay? How about a nice bath, and bed?” He smiled and nodded but asked before she left, “Mieko, how come I have not seen any sign of your boyfriend the last few days. Won’t he be mad at my staying here?” She smiled, “Yeah I’m sure he would be if I had one. I am in between right now, so you are lucky that I can take care of you while you’re sick. If I had to have a fight with a guy because of it I would be considerably more cranky to deal with.” She grinned at him as she walked away to draw his bath. Fuji thought about what she said, and he supposed it made sense to him. He had loved Tezuka first, the sexual desire coming after. It was odd to have a title for something he thought so little about, and was really second nature to him. You loved who you loved, and that was all.
He sat in the cool water, it had faint floral scent, more spicy then sweet. He found he liked it very much. He was surprised she had drawn him a tepid bath rather than a hot one, but his fever was still high, so maybe that would bring it down some. He dried off, and crawled into bed, again cuddling up along her body, enjoying the closeness and comfort of having her there. As it did last night, his fever climbed during the night, leaving him sweating. When he had tossed himself into wakefulness, his shirt drenched, Mieko got up and tossed him a freshly laundered t shirt, which he exchanged for the one he had on, then he sank back into unconsciousness.
Friday:
Tezuka attended morning practice, he had already run his own personal set of laps before everyone else had even shown up, as was usual for him. When he heard Eiji telling Oishi that he had spoken to Fuji the night before. Tezuka’s ears caught the conversation, and he came out of his locker room, his very presence immediately drawing the team’s attention. “Eiji. You spoke with Fuji? How is he?” Eiji turned to his captain. “Hai. He is not well. He said he has a bad case of the flu, he is staying at Mieko’s house, she is taking care of him.” The cat calls and whoops started, but one word from their buchou caused them to stop cold. “Enough!” The angry look on Tezuka’s face scared half the team, hoping they would not have a hard workout because of it. “Eiji, continue.” Eiji nodded, “Yes buchou. He said Mieko is coming to pick up his homework from me this afternoon.” Tezuka nodded and turned to walk away when Eiji suddenly slid up to him and quietly whispered so no one else could hear, “I also asked him about what happened to make Hanaka say the mean things she said. He wouldn’t answer me. He said he didn’t want to talk about it.” Tezuka’s face registered no change, but his spine was as stiff as a board as he nodded his thanks, returning to his locker room.
Oishi watched his friend and captain warily when he entered their shared locker room. He knew something was going on behind the scenes, but he had no idea what. “Tezuka?” The golden brown hair flickered with highlights as the hazel eyes turned to look at him, “Yes, Oishi?” Shy, gentle Oishi looked to the floor, not sure how to proceed, “Tezuka. Whatever is going on, I just want you to know, I am your friend. If you need anything……” Tezuka studied him for a moment, knowing without a doubt that Oishi meant what he said, but no one could help him. The only one who knew what was going on was Fuji, and he absolutely refused to have any more contact with Hanaka. He merely nodded at his friend, “Thank you, Oishi. I know that.” Oishi left the room and as soon as he did, Tezuka sat down in the chair hard. The very place they had sex, not too long ago, yet it seemed like forever. Fuji was staying at Mieko’s house. Relief that the tensai was being taken care of washed over him, followed by a distinct sense of loss. His reasoning for that feeling was vague at best, but somehow he felt as if he had lost the tensai. Hanaka’s words about Fuji never returning if he knew what was good for him kept a steady pace running around Tezuka’s head. He hoped they were just empty threats, while a feeling of dread settled in his stomach.
Mieko tended to Fuji before she showered to go to work. Later that day, When she was done with directing her rehearsals, as the members of the dance troupe left, she tied her hair up into a high tight ponytail, and started her own short warm up. Deep squat, high kick, deep squat crescent kick, deep squat punch…….as she worked into a steady grove, her face became more focused and fierce. A quick image of the Predator from the alien vs. predator movie that she saw with Syuusuke flashed in her mind and she smiled wryly to herself. Just as Fuji did, she also held inner conversations, ‘Yes. I know what I am doing is at great risk to myself, but there is no one else to do it.’ Kick, punch, she answered herself, ‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions.’ Squat, block, ‘but at least I can say that I did what I wanted to do.’ She grabbed her keys and headed to Seishun academy to meet up with Eiji. He was the adorable one with the red hair, as Fuji described him to her. She remembered the acrobat with the huge sapphire eyes. He would not be difficult to find. That would be her first mission of the day.
The day passed without incident for Tezuka. He half expected Hanaka to put in another appearance, but she didn’t. Classes went smoothly, none of the teachers made mistakes in their formulas, equations or grammar. If they had, Tezuka was in a foul enough mood that he would take them to task for it. Luckily for them they were all on the ball. When afternoon practice started Tezuka participated in the normal laps with the rest of the team, Inui’s penal-tea held threateningly over them all to ‘inspire’ a full effort. As soon as they were done, Ryuzaki said that they were all to partner up for matches. Tezuka grabbed his racket and called out, stopping Echizen before he had a chance to step forward (since he had been called upon to play Tezuka each day) “Eiji! You’re with me.” Echizen blinked in surprise, then shrugged it off and went to play with Momoshiro. Eiji hid behind Oishi and cringed. Oishi patted his partner’s arm, almost chuckling at the frightened grimace on his partner’s face. Eiji exclaimed, “But Oishi! He’s going to beat me into the ground just like he did to Fuji-ko. He’s scary.” Oishi shook his head, “No he won’t, love. Just do your best.” Eiji followed his captain to the nearest court and they began their game. Eiji was surprised to realize that while Tezuka was soundly beating him, it was not vicious at all, and it was obvious that his captain was not even paying strict attention to their game. Eiji wondered if he should feel insulted, then quickly discarded it for sheer gratitude. Tezuka’s eyes were always scanning outside the courts looking for something, but Eiji could not figure out for what. The workout ended without incident, Eiji was sweating but he had survived his game with his captain. As they were walking to the clubhouse, Tezuka asked him, “Eiji. I thought Mieko was coming today to get Fuji’s homework.” Aaahhhh. So that was it. Now Eiji knew why Tezuka hadn’t been paying attention. He was on the lookout for Mieko. That was also why he had Eiji playing him today, so he would not miss when Mieko came to pick up the papers. Eiji cringed. He knew his next words were going to anger his captain. ‘Nya. He’s not gonna like this.’ He said out loud, “Hai, Buchou. She came already. She met me before practice started as I was coming into the clubhouse.” Eiji watched as Tezuka’s face became hard and cold, “But I did ask her how he is doing. Her answer was odd.” Tezuka stopped and turned quickly to him, “What did she say?” Eiji shrugged, looking embarrassed, “She said he would do better if you….” Eiji coughed a bit, looked up, cleared his throat then tried again, “She said, ‘If Tezuka put his bitch on a leash…..’” fierce hazel eyes scowled at him, scaring him senseless, so he quickly finished, “but that she had Syuusuke now and would protect him. She said he’ll heal fine.” Eiji chanced looking at Tezuka again, only to find his face a dark and angry visage. Tezuka took several deep breaths then asked quietly, “Did she say anything else?” Eiji nodded. “Yes she asked me where she could find Hanaka.” Hazel eyes drilled into sapphire ones, then he nodded, “Thank you, Eiji.” The red head watched as Tezuka stormed into the locker room, only when his captain was completely inside did Eiji let out the breath he had been holding.
Hanaka left the ballet practice from the main doors and headed towards home. That little freak Fuji still had not returned to school, and she was glad. Eventually he would have to come back and then she would confront him with her Kunimitsu there. Then Kunimitsu would have to face the harsh reality of the video on her cell phone, and what kissing that weirdo had done to them, and to his career. Even if Kunimitsu didn’t come back to her now, she would make sure Fuji would not have him either. She knew Tezuka’s family and knew how much he looked up to his grandfather. Hanaka knew he would never want to have to explain to him what videos of him having sex with another guy were doing all over the internet. She had her head down as she walked, lost in her own thoughts. Hanaka didn’t see the shadowed form step out in front of her until it was too late. “Heh!” an explosion of breath was the only thing she heard, her eyes barely caught sight of a swiftly rising leg, the next thing she knew a crack sounded from high on her left cheek and she was flat out on the ground. Hanaka shook her head, clearing it quickly to see the green eyed Mieko standing over her, shadowed by the trees and the setting sun. “Get up bitch. You have more coming.” Hanaka screamed, “You stupid idiot! Why are you attacking me!? You should be hitting that asshole you are dating! He cheated on you too! Don’t you know what he did!? What he did with my boyfriend?” Hanaka climbed to her feet, but Mieko didn’t really care anything for her words, “Syuusuke didn’t cheat on me. Lets just say we have an OPEN relationship. My problem is that you attacked him with a tree branch while he was sick, and unable to defend himself. You hurt someone I love, and you will pay for that. Since he’s too much of a gentleman to hit a woman, that leaves it to me.” Hanaka’s disbelief showed on her face, how could this girl defend that little asshole? “I’ll call the police.” Mieko smiled, “Go right ahead. I’m sure Syuusuke could press worse charges on you.” Mieko took up a fighting stance, “The way I see it, you need to be hit twice for each one you gave him with that branch. But don’t worry, I am very quick. You won’t even know what hit you.” Mieko was as good as her word. Hanaka was hit with 3 punches and 2 kicks before she had time enough to hit the ground again. Mieko calmly retrieved Fuji’s homework from the nearby bench, then turned to go home. She thought to herself, ‘Well that was the easy part……’
Tezuka changed quickly and practically ran home. He needed to get out of there. He was quickly losing his tight hold on his control. In spite of his careful planning, he had still managed to miss Mieko’s visit. He had missed his one opportunity to talk to the only person who could give him information about Fuji. And her words to Eiji had Tezuka’s stomach in a knot. Did she know what had happened between he and Fuji? How would Fuji deal with his long time girlfriend finding out? Fuji would choose Mieko over Tezuka any day, he was sure. What did Hanaka do to Fuji that made Mieko so mad? Why did Mieko want to find Hanaka? What did they need to discuss? The thoughts and each of their implications all made Tezuka’s stomach sick. There wasn’t a single option amongst any of them that sounded good. He just wanted to talk to Fuji. Needed to understand what was going on. Tezuka had no firm footholds. The only thing he knew for sure was that Mieko had Fuji and she was more protective over him now than before. He could tell just by her reactions to him at the movies that night that Mieko was like a lioness defending her cubs. She would be fierce and stand fast. It hurt. Fuji and Tezuka had sex, then Fuji went home to Mieko. To stay with her these last days. His stomach clenched painfully. He knew he shouldn’t feel like this, but he felt betrayed somehow. Tezuka got undressed and headed into his shower at home to wash the sweat from afternoon practice away. It was there in the cascade of shower water that he finally admitted to himself that he might have lost Fuji not just as a lover but as a team mate and a friend, without ever even really knowing why or what had happened. Leaning back against the wall, Tezuka Kunimitsu, captain of Seigaku, finally let the tears flow unchecked.
